I always hated being home alone. My floor boards creaked all the time, mirrors and plates smashed for no reason and it was just the overall feeling of something watching me in the dark. It made me feel sick.
One day my mom went shopping and I was left home alone. About ten minutes later I opened my bedroom door to find my mom. She had pale skin and bloodshot eyes, she appeared sick.
"M-mom? Are you okay?"
She looked at me and let out an ear piercing scream, making goosebumps run up my arms. I pushed past her and ran down the stairs to see my mom unpacking the groceries, humming to herself.
