Tris Pov
The past week has been quite eventful. While in History Mr Waters has been really moody, Frau Kaiser, who made us call her Frau Prior, which didn't sound very German, has been staring off into distances, losing the cheerful vibe she used to have. It was all quite depressing if you ask me. Teachers stopped making jokes to get us through the long day, and instead have been glaring and avoiding each other. It felt like we were living in a TV drama.
We were now in History. Mr Waters kept rubbing his face every now and then, as if he was really stressed about something. I wonder what it is. Did he have problems with his girlfriend, oh wait. He doesn't have one. Maybe it's something to do with Frau Prior. I didn't know.
Halfway through the lesson Mr Waters' eyes lit up, as if he was excited.
"Have I shown you guys my new dog?" he asked. Dog? We haven't seen his dog.
"No," the form replied, including myself.
"Ok, let me show you."
It took him about 10 seconds to get the picture and let me tell you.... IT WAS SO CUTE!
"His name is Leo."
As soon as Mr Waters said Leo I started hyperventilating. Well sort of.
"Oh my god. Oh my god. LEO RHYMES WITH THEO!" I squealed. Sometimes I fangirl a bit too much. Oh well.
Austin POV
I was tired and stressed. Liz had moved to live with Adelina, the Spanish teacher, who was loving on her own at the moment, saying that she didn't want to be a burden and to be honest I didn't want her to go. I was worried about her. She seemed to be falling into depression somehow and it didn't help the fact that she was living with someone who had also been cheated on.
It was period 1, week A and I had 8Z. They were my favourite class, but I just couldn't feel any emotions with what happened. Liz got hurt and somehow so did I.
Over the holidays, I got a dog. It was mainly to get my mind off of everything that was happening lately. And because Liz loved cute animals.
I named him Leo. I thought it suited him, despite the fact he looked nothing like a lion. He looked more like a snow leopard or something. What would I know? I am not an animal expert.
Thinking of Leo reminded me to show the form my dog. They seemed really down and not as enthusiastic as usual.
"Have I shown you guys my new dog?" I asked.
"No," the form replied.
"Ok, let me show you."
I managed to show the picture fairly quickly and this was followed by a series of 'aww's'. He was really cute if I do say so myself.
"His name is Leo."
As soon as I said this, Tris seemed to be, what looks like, hyperventilating. Oh my god! What's happening? I started freaking out.
"Oh my god. Oh my god. LEO RHYMES WITH THEO!" she squealed.
Oh. She was obsessing over something. I gave her a weird look. Was he like part of One Direction or something?
Curious to find out what was going on, I walked up to the group of girls, who were now surrounding her as she 'freaked out'. I don't even know what is happening. Ugh, teenagers. You can never understand them.
"Is everything ok here girls?" I asked, looking clueless. The group giggled and looked at each other as if saying 'Should we tell him?'.
All of the girls around her either rolled their eyes or face-palmed. And I had absolutely no idea what was going on.
"She's fangirling about Theo James, sir," Sophia said, sighing and shaking her head as if Tris had a mental case or something.
"Fangirling? Theo James?" I asked confused.
"Yes, sir. Fangirling. The reaction a fangirl has to any mention or sighting of the object of her "affection". These reactions include shortness of breath, fainting, highpitched noises, shaking, fierce head shaking as if in the midst of a seizure, endless blog posts, etc.," Amy explained. "Theo James is..."
I cut her off with another question. "And what is a fangirl exactly?"
The girls all looked at me like I had three heads. Even Tris stopped 'hyperventilating' to give me a 'seriously' look.
"Fangirl; A rabid breed of human female who is obesessed with either a fictional character or an actor. In this case it is Theo James she is fangirling about, who played Four in Divergent," she recited, as if she had learnt the dictionary off by heart.
"Divergent?" I felt so dumb right now it was unreal.
How could someone be so stupid?
I don't know, to be honest.
I snapped back into reality when all the girls, and there were about 10 of them, groaned really loudly.
"HOW CAN YOU NOT KNOW WHAT DIVERGENT IS?" Tris screamed. "You know what, forget it."
I walked back to the front of the classroom, awkwardly. What the hell just happened? I knew I was a nice teacher and all but how did they even have the audacity to talk to a teacher like that. Oh well. I didn't care. As long as they didn't get in trouble with any other teachers, I'm fine with it. But I noticed something and I'm pretty sure a smirk crept on to my face when Katrina and what seemed to be her best friend, Ruth, looked at the girls I was just with, jealously. Man! I'm popular!
Don't even think about it.
I wasn't going to.
Yeah you were.
No I wasn't.
Dude. I am you. I think I know what you were planning to do.
Is this normal? Like does everyone have arguments with their brain? Or is it just me?
No this is not normal. You're just messed up.

Two weeks later
Elizabeth POV
The past few weeks have been so hard. I didn't know how I was able to carry on this way. Everyday I look red like a zombie who died twice, if that's even possible.
As I sat in the staff room, drinking coffee, like I have been ever since I found out Alex cheated, Austin walked up to me.
"Hey," he said, softly.
Instead of replying I ended up smiling weakly. How were things not awkward between us? I guess we wouldn't let us randomly kissing get in the way of our friendship.
"How have you been holding up?" he asked me. I was glad he cared. I lost my best friend and he gladly replaced her, being the only thing keeping me sane.
"As well as can be expected."
"Well, do you wanna come to my apartment tonight? I have a suprise."
A suprise? I wondered what it was. It wasn't like he was my boyfriend or something, getting me presents regularly.
If only he was.
How could I think like that? I just got cheated on!
Well I guess you didn't really like Alex so it didn't effect you like you thought it would.
Hello! Look at me what more do you want?
"Sure. I have nothing else to do."
Give him a chance.
He doesn't like me though.

Time lapse
Austin came to pick me up at around 7pm from Adelina's house. To say I was excited would be an understatement. Despite everything that has happened lately, I decided that I needed to move on. Which is why Austin looked at me weirdly when I was smiling. Yet his demeanour completely changed a few seconds later, smiling as well.
We sat in a silence, not awkward but comfortable listening to capital on the radio. My favourite song Stiches by Shawn Mendes came on. I didn't know how or why, but I felt like it was about my relationship with Austin. I'm weird.
Yes. Yes you are.
Being a gentleman as usual, when we got to his house, he opened the passenger door for me to get out.
As we walked up to his front door, with him walking behind, he covered my eyes with his hands.
"Close your eyes. I have a suprise remember!"
"How could I forget?"
I kept my eyes closed. I heard him open the door, then felt his warm hands on my shoulders, guiding me inside. Luckily, I was wearing a full sleeved, knee length dress, that matched his eye colour. Ocean blue. It meant he couldn't touch any bare skin on my shoulders and make it awkward.
As we entered the warm atmosphere of his home, I heard barking that kept getting louder. I loved dogs. Especially small ones. They were so adorable! I remember telling Austin this when we were playing 20 questions. Did he remember?
I couldn't wait any longer. I opened my eyes and at my feet was the cutest thing I had ever seen. Hugging my legs was a fluffy white puppy. It's big black eyes made it adorable.
"What's it's gender and name?" I asked, excited.
"His name is Leo, he's a boy," Austin replied, chuckling at my reaction.
I knelt down, rubbing Leo's fur. It was so soft. Like snow. He was just a cuteness overload.
2 hours later
Austin POV
We sat on the couch talking for what felt like hours. Each minute we got closer and closer. It was more like me talking and Liz listening, smiling and petting Leo.
"I thought getting him would cheer you up, since you told me you liked dogs," I told her sincerely.
"Thank you. You didn't have to do this," she replied, looking me straight in the eyes. I got lost on her grey-blue eyes and soon enough I was leaning forward and so was she. Leo has ran off somewhere. He must've known we needed privacy.
Before we knew it, our lips were inches apart. Then I kissed her. I didn't care anymore. I liked her and although I couldn't say it, I wanted to show her. The taste of her strawberry lipbalm was sweet and made me like kissing her evenmore.
The moment was too good to be true. A knock on the door broke us apart before it turned into a make out session. While she was fixing her hair, I went up to the front door and opened, hoping that whoever it was didn't notice that I had been kissing Liz.
The last person I expected at the door stood infront of me.
