Monday afternoon "mom why are you packing so much it says on the brochure to pack light" my mom was packing for her workshop thingy and I think she was nervous about leaving me alone here, but instead of talking to me about it she's over packing.
"Brett this is stuff that I need" bullshit
"Fine mom" I got up and left her room heading to the kitchen for a drink, on my way down the stairs Leah called "hey ugly"
"As if" she answered back, no joke though Leah was one of the hottest girls in school, before I realize I was gay I use to have a crush on her when she found out she thought it was cute because she knew I was gay before I did
"What's going on?"
"Guess who has a date on Wednesday?" I smiled and played along
"Queen Elizabeth?"
"No Brett"
"Umm Gwendela" I started to laugh
"That's not funny Brett"
" yes it is" it's funny because Gwendela was this really big girl in middle school that no one liked and Leah use to be terrified of, I mean if you just mention her name Leah would probably piss her pants. She was silent "alright who is it?"
"Me, I have a date on Wednesday"
"Ooo with whom?"
"Jershom"
"Leah he's like 16"
"Nuhuh he's 17, and totally mature for his age and plus he is way better than those meat heads at school" that wasn't a lie
"Well I'm happy for you"
"I know. So can I come over tomorrow"
"Yes, I was actually thinking about that my mom is leaving like 6 am to catch her flight so I was thinking that you, Liam, and I could chill at my house tomorrow and you can get to formally meet him" I could hear her gasping
"Omg really! I would love to meet him"
"Lol well you will tomorrow just be here by 11"
"Kk" she hung up and I got my drink and went to the living room to watch some tv.
Couple of hours later I was washing dishes when the house phone rang, so I yelled "MOM PHONE!"
From her room she yelled "SO GET IT!" I grunted and looked at the caller I.D great it was my dad
"hey dad"
"Hey bud, where's your mom?"
"She's busy in her room"
"Oh, alright tell her to call me back when she's done"
"K dad" I hung up before he could ask anything about me and finished doing the dishes.
That night my mom and I were watching tv in her room "so any plans tomorrow while I'm gone?"
"Umm not really Leah and I are just gonna hangout here"
"Oh well alright, no extra guess remember!" she looked at me serious
"I got it mom, and stop pretending I know who you mean"
"So?...." she smiled at me
"Yeah?...."
"Are you and this boy serious?"
"Umm I don't know mom we've only been out once"
"Do you like him?" most guys would rather get the relationship talk from their dad but nope not me, my mom knew more about this stuff than my dad "I mean its alright if you don't but no pressure if you do. Just that you do know that if you do you are going to have to tell your dad at some point"
Of course I do, I'm going to have to tell the one person that hates my sexuality that I might be getting a possible boyfriend what can be so wrong with that idea, I sighed "I know" she smiled and grabbed me and hugged me "mom that's not ok" I said while pulling away "I'm not 10 anymore"
She pinched my cheek and frowned "I know, but you're still gonna be that little boy that use to hug me for no reason right?" it's sad to see my mom like this sometimes, when she starts to bring up the past that means she's lonely
"Yes mom I am but I'm just not so little anymore" she smiled and ruffled my hair, I smiled back and moved closer, we cuddled close and watched some more tv.
