(Author's Note: This chapter is in Kylo Ren's point of view.)

It had only been a five days since Nira had been abducted, but that was far too long already. I had no clue what nefarious plans those demonic species had in store for her. Certainly they wanted to harm her. They wouldn't have taken her against her own will for a good reason.

I couldn't stand the fact that somewhere Nira was being injured and I was stuck on the base.

I had spent every waking second of the five days hunting Nira down from the base. I had only slept 25 hours out of the past 120 because I had been doing random jobs in order to better our chances of getting Nira back.

After Hux had stopped me from going after her when she had been taken, several units and fleets of stormtroopers had been sent out in order to look for her. We had then sent out bounty hunters and entire squadrons of battle employees in attempt to find her.

There had been a council later that night, involving myself. Some of the government officials, who had chosen to remain anonymous (cowards), had filed some complaints against the excessive investigation on Nira's whereabouts.

The first thing I did in that council was extract the names of the complaint-filers from the minds of those who ran the council using The Force. Then I made the most viable argument that was possible in the situation I was in:

"Nira is a palpable citizen of The First Order and an active employee in our government. It would be purely unjust if we were to act in any way except to focus on finding her. She has shown her loyalty to us over and over again, especially in times of crisis. I watched her deny the Knights of Ren and chose to fight for our organization. She rescued me from The Resistance's base, where surely they had asked her to stay with them and help them. She has proved herself countless times and deserves to be repaid."

I then added an additional, stronger argument. "Not to mention, if we let whatever organization that took Nira simply get away with kidnapping one of our own, what will stop them from gaining confidence in themselves and launching another attack on us again? When we find Nira, we will find another potential large enemy, destroy them, and therefore ensure more safety for our citizens. It would be completely naive to not go after Nira, unless you are with the enemy organization that took her." I had ended my powerful speech in a suggestive tone. I challenged anyone to oppose my argument and therefore pledge their allegiance with an organization that was not The First Order; if they did this I would immediately subsequently have them put into captivity, tortured into revealing information, and then killed.

The employees in the council were all aware of this, so they all allowed me to continue my voracious hunt for Nira.

After the council I found the government employees that had filed the complaints and killed them.

Each day I grew more and more worried that we would never find her, or if we did find her, we would only find her lifeless corpse. I had to push those pessimistic thoughts out of my mind and focus on the incredibly significant task at hand. I knew that I would never forgive myself if either of the aforementioned happened.

I was so angry with myself that I could only realize that I truly did love Nira when she was taken away from me. I was also quite surprised that I could love anyone. I had made the full transition to The Dark Side long ago, so how was it possible that I could feel this depth of emotion for anyone, let alone someone that I'm not directly related to?

Yet again, Nira ceaselessly amazed and intrigued me. She had gotten me, Kylo Ren, to fall in love with her, a woman that had been captured merely for her powers.

It was the fifth day. I paced back and forth in the base's massive control room, observing all of the actions being completed by various employees. Several squadrons had tried to come back to the base, but I did not allow any of them to return without pieces of solid good news.

I noticed that two men working at computer stations were having a warm little chat that obviously was not centered around finding Nira. I slowly approached them from behind and closely listened to their exchanges.

" . . . So you do agree. Rulara is in your Top 5 Scariest People On The Base List." One of them spoke in low volume and a humorous tone.

"Man, you haven't talked to her in person. You haven't interacted with her . . . Ever. You've only ever seen her in the Lunch Hall. You should really see how she handles the prisoners." The other shook his head in fear and ominously chuckled.

I stood directly behind their backs and then slammed my palms down on the portion of the table in between them. They both jumped, and the one that was intimidated by Rulara cried out in surprise.

"You will both interact with Rulara if you don't get to work." I muttered threateningly. I looked side to side and was deeply satisfied by the prominent fear on their expressions. Both of them understood that I was insinuating that they would be sent to jail if they didn't concentrate on their work.

"Kylo Ren!"

I stood up quickly to see that it was a woman from the Communications Desk who had called my name so urgently. I briskly strode over. "What is it?" I questioned. I could feel suspense rising in the room.

"We are receiving a hologram from an unknown identity. The hologram is coming from Sector 78, sir." The young woman spoke, looking up at me with determination and surprise in her eyes. I nodded and folded my hands behind my back.

"Receive it." I instructed in my mechanically altered voice. Honestly, the feeling of having a mask that can change your voice so it instills fear in anyone that listens to words pour from your mouth never gets old.

The woman pressed a button on her computer and instantly a blue holographic screen was shot into the open air in the middle of the massive Communications Desk. The control room grew silent and I could feel the anticipation and anxiety surrounding me.

The screen was filled with static, and then a blurred figure. Static again. Blur. Static.

Then Nira was showed on the screen. I blinked from behind the mask and felt my eyes widen involuntarily. My hands floated from behind my back to my sides and I looked up at her in amazement.

Some people gasped. Others began clapping. Most remained silent, carefully watching the powerful woman who had been taken from us.

I watched Nira's mouth move and faintly heard her scream something, but there was a very obnoxious banging sound in the background of the hologram that refused to stop.

The woman working at the Communications Desk reached out to her. "Nira, we can't hear you clearly. Please speak up louder or use the messager."

Nira stared at the screen for a moment and then nodded. I watched her nervously as she glanced backwards, turned back, and then began fumbling with a few buttons on the panel in front of her.

"We've got a message," One man announced from the opposite side of the desk, "She says 'Stuck on planet. Don't know how to fly ship. People trying to break in.'. That's all."

My stomach felt like it was plummeting through the air. It took me a few moments to accept the exceptional amount of danger that Nira was in.

I turned back to the rest of the control room and shouted, "Get our best pilot in here in twenty seconds! NOW!"

Suddenly the control room erupted with movement and speaking. I turned back to the hologram and focused on Nira.

I couldn't lose her, not after I'd just realized the extent of my emotion for her. I couldn't. It was not a possibility.

I observed that the hologram became clearer with each second that passed. I could see that Nira was located in a small ship with a control panel, four seats on the left wall, and a back hatch. I also noticed that there was a motionless slumped figure in the corner of the ship.

"There's someone in the ship with her." I uttered with horror to the woman who was interacting with Nira. She acted immediately, which impressed me.

"Nira! There is a being in the ship with you. Are you aware of this?" She frantically spoke into her small communication microphone.

Nira glanced behind her again, towards the body, and turned back to us. She began pressing buttons on the control panel again. Her message took longer to go through this time.

"Message received. Nira says, 'Captors cooperated with prison block 348. Prisoner got in. Fought me. Electrocuted him. Only passed out. My power is weak right now'. That is all." The man from across the desk announced.

Her power is weak? What is that even supposed to mean? She's never been weak of power!

And prisoners from block 348 are cooperating with her?! So that means that whoever took her is affiliated with The First Order (well, not anymore -- traitors) and helped our prisoners escape!

I had to control my anger because of the intensity of the situation. I knew that I couldn't lose control of myself. If I did, it could completely ruin the chance of ever finding Nira.

"Kylo Ren! This is Bernai Quar, our top pilot." A male voice announced. I turned around to face a man dressed in all navy blue. I nodded to him, and he saluted me.

"Bernai Quar?" I asked for verification.

"Yes, sir." He replied quickly. I turned back to the hologram and he stepped forward to stand next to me.

"This is Nira Leven. She's trapped on an unknown planet in a ship she doesn't know how to operate. Her captors are trying to break in through the back hatch right now and she needs to take off. You need to help her take off." I instructed Bernai. He nodded comprehensively.

"How do I communicate with her?" He asked with confusion. The woman that had discovered the hologram rapidly handed Bernai her microphone. He inspected it for an instant and then began to speak into it.

"There should be a set of five multi-colored buttons to your left, Nira. You need to hit the red, blue, and yellow buttons simultaneously."

"How do you know what ship model this is?" I questioned Bernai's quick instructions suspiciously. He replied, "Every ship has a beginner's startup. This is it."

"Message received. Nira says, 'Also, there's a fire'. That is all." The message-receiving man announced.

I nearly rolled my eyes. How many more things could possibly go wrong?

"Did you hit the buttons?" Bernai asked into the microphone. Nira nodded.

"Good. Now there should be a lever to your immediate right illuminated with red lines. You need to slowly -- "

Bernai was interrupted by a giant bang that erupted from Nira's end of the hologram. I watched as she turned, jumped, and cringed.

Moments later, the message-receiver announced, "Message received. Nira says, 'Dent in back hatch'. That is all."

"Nira, you need to start pulling down on the lever now." Bernai ordered her with a tone of complete authority. I watched as Nira began to pull it. The repeated banging sounds at her end had not dulled in the slightest.

Suddenly another bang came from Nira's side of the screen. She turned and jumped again. I saw illumination on the screen -- it looked like firecrackers were going off in her ship.

Or gunfire

"Message received. Nira says, 'Crack in the hatch. They're getting closer'. That is all."

"Nira, there is a set of red buttons that should be placed near the window. I think there should be . . . Seven red buttons. You need to press all of those now!" Bernai exclaimed urgently into the microphone. I watched anxiously as Nira did so. I was so very scared that she would not emerge from this situation alive.

I could visibly see the crack in the hatch widen. I could then clearly make out vicious and horrendous faces through the crack. An arm reached in through the crack and grasped at the air. I am positive that I had never been felt more worried and useless.

"Nira! There's a large, triangular blue button that should have illuminated after you pressed all of the red buttons! Press down on it consecutively three times!" Bernai shouted into the microphone. I could tell he was getting panicked as well.

Nira glanced around at the control panel and located the blue button. She slammed her palm down on the button three times in a row, and then I watched her disappear -- she had fallen backwards.

The ship must have taken off. The pure force of it would've knocked her off of her feet.

However, that seemed to be a problem.

I could see that one hand clung to the crack of the hatch.

Nira had gotten a grip on the control panel and pulled herself to her feet. The hatch then ripped completely open, revealing a burly man that was the size of a large animal (and looked like one, too).

He clawed his way into the ship. Nira was focused on keeping herself from falling out of the ship. She was unaware that there was a psychopath crawling into the ship.

The slumped body in the corner of the ship slowly slid out and catapulted into the air below it. The man continued to climb in through the open hatch.

I looked at Bernai. He was staring, dumbfounded, at the horrendous and terrifying activities that were occurring. I ripped the microphone from his hands and yelled into it, "Nira! Shut the hatch! There is a prisoner climbing into your ship!"

Nira followed my instructions. She shut the hatch.

The prisoner rolled off of the hatch and was never to be seen again.

The hatch completely closed and Nira was finally alone, shooting through space somewhere far from where I was. I was still scared that something else would go wrong and she would be put into a life-threatening situation once more.

But for then, I had to be confident that everything would be okay so I didn't completely lose my mind and accidentally kill someone out of frustration.

I watched as Nira leaned into the microphone. She huffed and sighed, trying to catch her breath.

Then she shakily spoke, "Kylo Ren, please come get me."

She flopped onto the control panel, unconscious, and fell to the floor of the ship where we couldn't see her.
