"Wait, I wanted to say that you have nice hair!" Ace ran after you as you just tried to pretend that you didn't just had that conversation.
"Yeah right!"
"But it's true!" Ace said annoyed. "Geez,women. You try to compliment them and they don't even take it!"
"Oh, and now you learned everything about women? Portgas D Ace, there are many secrets that you are unaware of about women." You said.
Ace furrowed his brows at your words as he reached your pace.
"Oh? Women are that mysterious? I've heard many people say that. I never thought that was true though. Men have their secrets aswell."
You giggled and then looked at Ace who was looking at you aswell.
"It seems that both of our genders don't know much about one another." You said.
"Well if the women's mind is that dark, I think everything should still remain a secret."
"You know, Ace, it says that the world is more colourful than it looks like."
"How so?" Ace was now interested. How could blue be more blue?
"Haven't you heard? Love is a strange thing. It appears out of no where and it's hard to get over it to. Some do, some don't. It says that the world that we're living right now it's a monotone coloured world. This blue of the ocean isn't really the blue the ocean really has."
Ace raised an eyebrow at that. It was hard to believe such things.
"And why does love relate to this?" Ace asked.
You stopped as you stared at the ocean. Ace was standing next to you staring at your face, waiting for your response.
"Didn't you listen? Love is a strange thing. I haven't been in love, so I don't know much about it, but from what I heard, love brings happiness into one's heart."
Ace turned his attention to the waves that hit the ship.
"To be honest, I haven't neither. It's true, I've been with some girls, but only for one night."
You looked at the ground a little disappointed. Of course he had a night stand. Why won't he? He was handsome, brave, strong. Every girl would just fall over heels for him.
"I've been told once, that everyone has a soul mate."
"Soul mate?" Ace turned back to you.
"Your other half. That person is the one that you should love unconditionally and spend your life with. It has been said that no matter how much time you spend with that person, you'll never get tierd of their voice, their face, their everything."
Ace was surprised. No one ever explained him what love really was actually. He thought it was something that you get over it, quickly.
"I heard once that when you're in love, you'll always feel nervous around that person at the start, your heart would beat faster than usual whenever you're thinking, talking or having any interaction with that particular person. You'll at one point, feel something like butterflies in your stomach."
"That's cool!" Ace said.
You smiled at him and decided that it's time to go to oyaji. After all, that was the main reason why you left the dining room, right?
"Ah, there you are, my daughter and my son. How are you today?"
"We're fine. How are you? Getting any better?"
"I've been better. But it's fine, really! I summoned you here because I have a little mission for the two of you." Whitebeard said as he drank some sake. Of course, the nurses weren't allowed so he could drink freely.
"The two of us? Why only me and Ace in particular?" You asked a little annoyed.
"I heard that Ace was the one that it's training you so I think you stticking around with him a little won't hurt." Whitebeard laughed.
"Well I'm okay with it, but what mission?" Ace asked.
"It's simple really, but it takes time to go to that island from here and I'm sure you're going to stumble across some marines on the way. All you have to do it's to get some information from one person."
"And that might be?"
"Hmm... You probably know this person. It's Rayleigh. "
Ace looked as he didn't care, while you couldn't even breathe anymore.
"R-R- Rayleigh!" You yelled.
"Ow! What's with you screaming all the sudden?" Ace asked.
"H-how could you not know, Dark King Rayleigh?! He was the right man of the Pirate King himself!" You explained.
Ace's eyes darken.
"I refuse." Ace said all the sudden.
"Huh?"
Why did he declined the offer? If you weren't hopeless as you were, you would of went by yourself. Why would Ace decline such an offer?
"I'm going in my room." Ace waved at you and the left.
"What's up with him?" You asked.
Whitebeard looked at Ace as he was getting out of slight.
"I guess I have to give this mission to someone else."
"Wait no. I'll talk to him."
"And you're sure you'll convince him to say yes?"
"I'm sure! Just give me some time. I'll try my best!"
That baka! Declining an offer like that! Not everyone gets to speak to one of the Gold Roger's crew members everyday!
You arrived in front of his room and you sighed.
You knocked on the door and then entered.
"Hey, wha-"
Ace was lying on his stomach, on the bed, looking more pissed than ever.
"What's up with you all the sudden? The moment I said something about Roger you started to get all mad."
"Don't say that name again!" Ace said with an annoyed tone.
"Oh? And what if I say his name again? What will you do?" You asked as you sat on his bed, next to him.
"I dare you, but I must warn you, you'll never see the sunlight again." You could see it on his face. He was very mad for some reason.
"Uuu, scary! I almost wet myself. Gold Roger. Why are you butthurt over him, huh?"
Ace turned around, stood up, grabbed your wrists and pinned you over his bed.
"Oh? You're gonna rape me? I guess it had to happen sooner or later." You said bot showing any interest.
You knew it though. He wasn't going to rape you. You're doing all of this just to get out of his mouth, the reason why he seems to hate the Pirate King so much.
"Shut up! You don't know anything about me! You think you know so much shit but you don't! You don't know a thing!" You could see some tears forming in his eyes.
Why is he crying? Did I went too far?
"Huh? Ace, just tell me what's wrong. I never judged you for anything and you know that." You said.
"I-I- Damn it!" Ace quickly released you wrists.
You stood next to Ace.
"Tell me, what's wrong. Why are you acting like this?"
"Have you ever heard who my parents are?" Ace asked all of the sudden.
"Your parents?" You repeated.
"Yes, my parents. Do you know who my father is?"
You furrowed you eyebrows.
"No?"
"Then let me enlighten you then. His name is Gol D Roger. You might of heard of him." Ace said the last part sarcastically.
Your eyes widen for a second.
Ace? The son of the Pirate King?
For some reason everything made sense now.
"Really?" You asked excited.
"Huh? Are you guys mad? Everytime I tell one of you my father's name you just brush it off and don't care, while some of you get all excited and curious."
"Well, I don't know, maybe because your father is the freaking Pirate King! Haha, I can't believe it! That's awesome!"
"No it's not..."
"Why?" You asked as you sat down.
"Everyone hated me. When I was younger everyone hated me for being his son." Ace said quietly.
"And who told you that? Some weak pirates or some bandits? Look, a child is sinless. He doesn't bare the sins that his parents did. They wete just afraid of the blood that you are carring."
"A blood of a demon." Ace finished.
"It doesn't matter who your parents are, Ace. You're still yourself, and that's what matter. You should accept the mission Ace. You might learn some things about Roger that you've never heard." You said.
Ace didn't know how to answer that. Maybe all this time, he was the one that was really hiding.
"I'll come by tomorrow, please choose Ace. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Please..." You said as you exist his room.
