L U C A S

'

I sat in the corner, in the dark grey room. Tears were streaming down my cheeks, as I held my teddy bear close.

I was all alone, something that happened quite often. A 10 year old shouldn't be left all alone, in a home with no food, no heat, for hours on end.

That's until I heard a door creep open. My little body started to shake with fear, knowing what was about to happen.

And suddenly there he was, tumbling in the room, almost looking like he was dizzy. At the time I had no idea that he was drunk, I just thought something was mentally wrong with him. And it scared me more than anything.

His eyes were dark, as he tried to stand his ground on his feet, yet he still stumbled.

"Where are you!?" He suddenly bellowed, clearly evident in his voice that he was drunk. My body was shaking, as the tears streamed down my face even faster. I hid myself underneath a table in the corner, hoping that he wouldn't see me.

But I was wrong. His evil eyes caught with mine, and my crying suddenly became louder. He stumbled over to me, as I bit my thumb tightly shaking my head.

"Get out here!" He screamed,  reaching underneath the table and snatching my arm. "No!" I cried, trying get out of his strong grasp.

I suddenly felt a hand slap against my cheek, as my feet dangled above the ground. I started screaming, but he covered my mouth, throwing me to the ground with a kick.

All I could do was cry, I didn't know what I had done wrong. I barely knew what was ever going on. I just lied there, in a curled up ball, bawling my eyes out, as I held my parents teddy bear close.

Why was this happening to me?

'

I sat in the corner of my room, lights shut off, blinds closed. My chest felt heavy, throat dry and head pounding. Everything that I've ran from, everything that I've tried to forget and push away is coming back.

He knew where I was,

And there was no turning back now. I can't put her in danger, I can't lose her.

I won't lose her.

I stood up, pancing around in a circle, stroking my hands through my hair. I was scared.

I was completely scared. Scared of him, scared of hurting her. Scared of losing her, scared of going out of my mind.

Everything was piling into my brain, and it felt like someone was trying to push me down to the ground.

All the anger, pain, hurt, came crawling back in. I grabbed a glass and threw it against the wall, before screaming.

"He can't find me!" I shouted, throwing as many things as I could find. I let it all out, everything.

That's before a saw a picture, in a little glass frame. I was about to throw it, before I realized the photo in it.

Rileys head was leaning on my shoulder, and she was laughing at something, and so was I, but you could only see half of my face.

I took my finger, gently sweeping it over her face, before I felt a lonely tear roll down my cheek.

"I won't let him find you." I whispered.

"Mom! Are you sure this is how it's supposed to fit!?" I yelled from my room, as my mother was in the restroom trying to find a hair pin. I let out a strangled grunt, as I felt like my chest couldn't breath. This can't be right. I stared at the dress in the mirror, a look of disgust flowing over.

This was my moms old prom dress, and well.

It was old, way old. I had already picked out my dress for the dance, but my mom practically begged for me to try on her old dress, which I couldn't refuse. So here I am, stuck in a dusty baby pink ball gown.

Not being able to breath, might I add. Or at least my boobs couldn't.

I sighed, before I saw my mom rush into the room. She clapped her hands together, before gasping. "You look beautiful!" She exclaimed. I couldn't help but roll my eyes. Does she not realize how absolutely ridiculous this is?

She came over to me, grabbing my arms.

"You look just like me when I was younger." She exclaimed, pretending to dry her false tears. I shook my head, laughing.

"Mom.. I love you, but I can't wear this. I'm sorry." I said, finally bursting out in laughter. Soon enough, my mom joined in.

"Yeah, I figured by the look on your face. It's alright, just get changed you have to leave." My mom smiled. "Thanks, mom." I replied, before she turned around and walked out, shutting the door behind her.

I slipped the horrendous thing off, before finding my dress. I put it on, before walking over to my dresser. I was missing one thing.

I picked up a locket, the one from Lucas as a matter of fact. The memories from last week came flooding back in, and I could feel my chest get heavy as I slowly lost my balance, considering I was wearing heels too.

Everything was going so well with Lucas, and then he kisses her. I don't want to hold him back.. So I had to bring up the damn friend situation, which I wanted to completely forget.

But him replying with those damn words back, I wish he would of just said no, and grabbed me and kissed me. I wanted to kiss him, I wanted to hug him. I wanted to be close to him.

But something is always in the way, no matter what it is.

I was snapped out of my thoughts by my phone ringing. Bewildered, I quickly checked my phone, only to see that it was Lucas calling me.

I quickly answered. "Hi." I said gently. "Hey." He quickly replied. I slightly smiled to myself.

"What's up?" I asked, walking over to my mirror to check how I looked. My hair was pinned to my side, as long curls flowed. I had on a red short, flowy sweetheart necklace dress with beads along the top, with silver heels.

"Oh, um nothing much.. I was just uh, well, um wondering if you were going to the dance?" He responded, voice slightly trailing off at the end. A smirk came across my lips.

"As a matter of fact I am, Mr. Friar. Why were you wondering?" I replied. I suddenly heard background sound, it kind of sounded like Zay.

"Oh, I mean it's not like I'm going to the dance or anything that's not why I was asking..psht." He muffled back. I bit the side of my lip, he was a terrible liar.

"Your act only works on an audience, Friar. I'll see you there then." I giggled, as I smiled to myself. He wasn't cheeky enough, I could tell he was lying. I heard him laugh.

"See you tonight." He responded. Just the way he said that, sent butterflies to my stomach. I just wanted to forget everything that happened that night of my birthday, really. Maybe we can tonight.

"Bye." I spoke, before hanging up. I smiled, before I heard a loud noise behind me. I turned around to see Maya. She had on a short black lace dress, her hair was straight and she also adorned black heels.

"Ready peaches?" Maya said, linking arms with me. I smiled.

"Ready to take on the world."

Riley was more than happy to have her license now, she felt free finally.

Riley pulled up in their school parking lot, before taking the keys out and throwing them in her clutch.

"Let's do this." Riley grinned. Riley was excited for tonight, but little did she know that tonight would change her whole life,

forever.

Maya and Riley got out, before they linked arms again. Riley finally felt confident, and so did Maya, even though Maya always seemed like it. They were some people outside, but the dance had already started, so everyone was basically inside.

They waltzed in, the sound of music suddenly echoing throughout the halls. They walked over towards the gym, before walking inside the door to see almost the whole school here.

Riley's jaw dropped, as she looked around. "This is insanity!" She exclaimed, giggling at the humongous crowd and lights flashing. Maya chuckled. "Welcome to high school." She said.

"Let's go—" "JOSH!" Maya suddenly exclaimed, cutting Riley off the edge. And Maya was gone just like that, as she ran and embraced Josh. Riley chuckled, before shaking her head. She was happy for Maya, so decided to ignore that fact that she just got ditched.

Suddenly the music and lights toned down a bit, as 'Hello' by Adele began to play. Riley watched the crowd, before she began to slowly walk away from it to another part of the gym.

She looked away from the side of her, thinking that it was probably best to watch where she was going. She turned her head forward,  before her eyes suddenly caught with the ones she's been looking for, Lucas.

She stopped dead in her tracks, as Lucas stared at her in awe, feeling like time was frozen for a moment.

Lucas eyed her every movement, and he couldn't stop staring at how beautiful she looked.

She was the most angelic thing he had ever seen, his heart was racing and he couldn't help but just think about how much he loved her. He just couldn't take his eyes off of her, he was speechless, as she was.

He looked like an angel, she thought. A mysterious, dark boy hidden underneath an angel, or maybe it was the other way around.

Riley smiled at Lucas, before pretending to bow. Lucas smiled, completely unaware that Zay was next to him.

"What am I, sardines?" Zay murmured. Lucas finally looked away from Riley, to look at Zay quickly so he could look back at Riley. "What?" Lucas asked. "Oh, nothing. Nobody likes sardines, everyone ignores it in the grocery store. Clearly you're ignoring me, because you're too busy being in love with her." Zay responded. Lucas stiffened up, eyes darting at Zay.

Was it that easy to tell?

Lucas didn't know what to say.

"I can tell that you're in love with her." Zay spoke, in a serious tone. He wasn't joking, or being sarcastic for once.

Lucas wasn't going to lie, he was done lying. Especially to his best friend.

"I am."

Lucas replied, turning his head to look back at Riley, but she was gone.

>>>>>>>>>

Riley rolled her eyes, as she looked over to her side. Daniel had dragged her away.

"Let's dance!" Daniel smiled. Riley let out a sigh, but only she could hear. She looked around for Lucas but didn't see him.

"Okay." She said lowly. Daniel grinned, before grabbing her hand and pulling her onto the dance floor.

Sorry by Justin Bieber was blasting, as the crowds of people jumped up and down, shouting along to the music. Riley decided to just let go for a moment, and just dance. Just forget the drama and have fun. She giggled and her and Daniel danced along.

Meanwhile, Lucas trailed down the hallway, in search for Riley. He had noticed a group of kids in a classroom, with red cups and bottles of alcohol. The drunk group that was at every dance.

He looked away, before he continued to walk down the hall. That's before he heard someone come up from behind him.

"Pussy boy shows up at a dance? Hilarious."

Lucas suddenly turned around, pushing Conner into a locker. "Speak for yourself. What the hell do you want?" Lucas spat. Conner chuckled. "You know, I gave you one last chance to come back to our group. But you chose the slut over us." Conner replied, enraging Lucas. Lucas forcefully slammed Conner against the lockers again.

"She's not a slut, don't ever say anything about her again." Lucas growled, trying to hold himself back from punching him. Conner just laughed.

"It must be hard, trying to live up to her expectations. Wouldn't it just break her heart to know what you've done." Conner smirked. Lucas's blood boiled, as he held a tight grip on Conner.

"Don't you freaking dare." Lucas hissed. "Knowing that you can never be what she wants you to be. I'm giving you until the end of tonight, either you come back with our group, or she learns who you truly are. Your choice." Conner gritted his teeth, before pushing Lucas off of him and walking off.

Lucas stood there, frustrated. He'd never go back to Conner and his group of asses. But Lucas as held a lot back from Riley, and he just doesn't know if he can bare to tell her.

>>>>>>>>>>

Riley sat down on a chair by the food table, eyes set down towards her feet. Maya was dancing with Josh, and one of Daniels friend asked him if he would dance with her.

So that left Riley here, alone. She bit the edge of her lip, fumbling with her fingers. That's before she heard a soft voice.

"What is a fine lady like you doing here, sitting all alone?"

Riley looked up, to see Lucas. She smiled once she saw his bright green eyes.

"A fellow did me wrong." She replied, impersonating a British voice. Lucas smirked.

"Well then clearly something's wrong with him, he missed out on something amazing." Lucas spoke, looking down into Riley's eyes. Riley speechlessly stared at him.

Suddenly, Echo by Jason Walker began to play, and Lucas smiled.

"May I have this dance, Ms. Matthews?" He spoke, setting out his hand. Riley looked up to him, then to his hand. She hasn't held his hand in so long. "Yes." Riley smiled, taking his hand and lacing her fingers through his.

Lucas guided them to the dance floor, both of their stomachs flipping upside down. All the nerves in Riley's body was rising, before Lucas turned around, eyes gazing down into hers.

Riley softly smiled, before Lucas held one hand around her waist, as the other held her hand. Their bodies were so close, they had never danced like this together before.

Riley's forehead touched against his, as they both stared at each other's lips, bodies moving in sync, something they were quite used too. Riley closed her eyes, just holding onto this moment.

"I never kissed Alexa." Lucas suddenly spoke, making Riley's eyes flutter open.

"What?" She asked. Lucas looked down, before looking back up to her eyes.

"Alexa kissed me. I never kissed her, not once." Lucas said. The hope in Riley's heart became so much stronger. Riley didn't know what to say, so Lucas shushed her.

"You don't have to say anything." He smiled. Riley softly returned the gesture, before she nodded, moving her arms around his neck, so he could hold onto her waist with both hands.

The music went on as their bodies flowed, they didn't want to ruin the moment. Riley smiled, before Lucas brought her closer to him. Riley set her head on his shoulder, closing her eyes as he held her. Like they were one again.

Riley's heart started racing, and she could hear Lucas's. It was as if they were beating to the same rhythm together.

Riley lifted her head up from Lucas's shoulder, her face was right in front of his, lips almost touching.

"Do you believe in love?" Riley softly asked, looking up into Lucas's eyes. They just stared at each other for a moment.

Lucas's mouth became dry, and the song suddenly ended. He wasn't sure what to say. He knew what he wanted to say, he just couldn't say it.

'I didn't believe in love, until I saw you.' That's what his brain was screaming, over and over again. But he just couldn't say it.

I love you, Riley Matthews.

I love you,

I love you,

I love you.

Riley just looked at him, space coming in between them.

"I-I need air." Lucas lied, quickly departing from Riley and rushing out. Riley felt her heartbreak. Did Lucas not believe in love? The real question was, is Lucas capable of love.

Riley looked down to her feet, before she felt a hand pat her shoulder. She looked over and noticed Farkle.

"It will be okay." Farkle smiled, noticing the encounter with Lucas. Riley gave Farkle a small smile. "Yeah.." She trailed off, before Farkle gave her a light hug.

Farkle was like another brother to her, she loved him. He was a great friend.

"Thanks Farkle." Riley said. "Anytime." He smiled. Riley returned the gesture, before she turned around to walk out in the hallway to try and find Lucas.

R I L E Y

I let out a sigh, it was completely useless to try and find him. Lucas was nowhere to be found. I continued to walked as fast as I could, well as fast as I could in heels, down the halls. Maybe he was in a classroom. I passed by some people, before I felt my shoulder accidentally bump into someone. Oh my gosh, how many times do I have to hit into people?

"Where here you're going, bitch." They hissed. I turned my head to see that It was Missy.

"Maybe if you actually used your brain for once, you would know how to walk properly." I remarked. She scoffed. "Well I don't see your boyfriend here to protect you from everything that comes your way." She hissed. I bit the side of my cheek.

"He's not my boyfriend." I snapped. Missy suddenly smirked. "So you wouldn't care if I flirted, or kissed him then, right?" She giggled. My heart just broke in half thinking of Lucas with Missy. Would he ever do that?

"I told you, Lucas will be mine. No matter what it takes." She hissed in my face, before bumping my shoulder and trotting off in her heels.

I let out a sigh, before I decided to try and find him again, that's before someone else suddenly stopped me. Seriously?

"Hey, Riley." They said. It was Daniel.

"Hi." I put on a fake smile, fumbling with my hands. I didn't really want to talk to him right now.

"So.. I've been thinking about us lately." Daniel spoke. I immediately looked up to him, confused. What the hell does that mean? He suddenly stepped closer.

"Daniel I—" he immediately cut me off. "You don't have to say anything." He said, smiling. I shook my head as he came closer and closer to me. What was he trying to do?

I couldn't move, and that's when I felt him smash his lips against mine. I just stood there for a moment, not being able to fathom what the hell was going on, until I did and quickly moved away. His lips were cold, hard. I felt absolutely nothing but anger. Why would he do that!?

"What is wrong with—" I was cut off, by my head turning the side. My eyes caught with Lucas's instantly.

L U C A S

It felt like everything was in slow motion. They were kissing. That's until she saw me.

"Lucas." She whispered. I felt tears form in my eyes, but I was far away enough that she couldn't see me. I felt my jaw clench and every bone in my body tense up.

I didn't say anything, I just turned around and walked off. I was done.

"Lucas!" I could hear Riley call after me, but I was faster than her. I turned down a hallway, quickly cutting a corner and shutting myself into a classroom. I was done, I guess I shouldn't be jealous though, right? We're just friends, right!?

"Bullshit!" I yelled, kicking my foot against a desk. I'm not just her friend! I won't just be her friend, I can't!

"I think you need a cup of this." Someone suddenly said, making me snap my head upwards.

I didn't even realize that there was a group of people in here. The stoner kids. I looked on there table, noticing the many bottles of alcohol and beer. I glared at the guy who spoke up.

He held a red cup up, signaling for me to come over, and I didn't refuse. I walked over, maybe this would help me forget everything. 'Maybe this would make the pain go away from awhile.' I thought to myself, before grabbing the cup and chugging it down.

T H I R D * P O V

Riley rushed around the gym, desperately trying to find Maya and Farkle. It was hot and sweaty in here, and she was out of breath. She suddenly spotted her blonde haired best friend in the crowd. "Maya!" Riley exclaimed, running over to her. Maya turned around, and Farkle was behind her.

"Hey, Riles!" Maya grinned, jumping and down to the music. Tears formed in Riley's eyes. "You have to help me!" Riley said over the music. Maya's smile drained away once she saw Riley's tears. "What's wrong?" She asked worriedly.

Farkle quickly came up to them, and he noticed Riley. "What's going on?" Farkle asked. Riley shook her head. "I'll explain later, we just need to find Lucas, now." Riley said, before they all three quickly rushed out of the gym in search of Lucas.

Riley started pacing around. "I've messed everything up." Riley whispered, covering her face. Riley would tend to blame everything on herself when things went downhill, even if it wasn't her fault. Daniel kissed her, she never kissed him.

It wasn't her fault, but it seemed like the easiest thing to do was to blame herself.

"Let's split up, maybe we'll find him that way." Farkle suggested. Riley nodded, agreeing to the plan. "Okay." Riley spoke, before they all three headed separate ways.

>>>>>>>>>

Lucas stumbled across his feet, as he found himself outside. His mind was racing, blood pumping, anger rising. He was slightly drunk, yet it still didn't erase the memory of Riley and Daniel kissing.

Lucas's heart sunk, before he found himself at the back of the outside of the school. The cold, brisk air brushed against his face, as his back hit against a brick wall. His panting, every emotion was building up,

Everything that's happened since he met Riley. Flashbacks of when he first met Riley, when they would fight when they would make up and laugh. Every moment was rushing through Lucas's mind.

He, rushed through Lucas's mind. He was beating him up, slapping kicking and punching. Then the memories of his parents flooded back. The memory of Riley kissing Daniel.

He was remembering everything.

"Did you make your choice?" A voice suddenly bellowed. Lucas stared at the ground, more vulnerable than ever before. His teeth were gritting against each other's, he was feeling a sense of anger he had never felt before.

"What's it gonna be then, huh?" Conner smirked, staring at Lucas. Lucas darted his eyes at Daniel, almost no color left in his pupils. They were so dark.

Lucas stood up, before he walked over to Conner, who was smirking cockily.

Lucas was done. Conner pushed his last nerve.

That's until Lucas swung, pouncing him down onto the ground. "Bitch!" Conner shouted, trying to fight back but was no use for Lucas in the state he was in right now. Conner punched Lucas, but Lucas could barely feel it. Tears started building in Lucas's eyes as he continually beat Conner. Until he heard a voice.

"Lucas!" A soft, voice yelled. Lucas released his grip. Conner stared up at Lucas, blood pouring from his mouth. "You'll regret that Friar." Conner coughed, barely able to move.

Lucas stumbled off of Conner, as Conner stood up angrily.

"Do you know what he's done!?" Conner spat towards Riley.

Riley stood there, just staring at Lucas, as tears fell from her cheeks.

"You're boyfriend here, who you think is a hero. Really isn't. He's done a lot of shit." Conner hissed, fumbling on feet. He was almost unconscious because of Lucas, as the blood trailed down from his jaw. If Lucas would have kept going, Conner could have passed out. Lucas didn't say anything, he couldn't.

He was a mess. A drunk mess.

Riley wasn't able to move, she could barely feel like she could breathe.

"He's stolen from places, got arrested twice. Spent two nights in jail. Beats people up for a living. He ran away from his uncles house to live here. He is only a disgrace." Conner spat, spitting out blood from his mouth.

Riley didn't want to believe Conner, she didn't want to. Riley tore her eyes away from them. Lucas lied to her. Riley thought that Lucas let her in, but he didn't. Riley trusted him.

"So there you go. There's your hero Riley, take a good look at him now." Conner growled, before stumbling away to go back inside.

It fell silent.

Lucas just stood there, not willing to turn around to face riley. He couldn't. He couldn't bare too.

"You lied to me." Riley whispered, choking on her tears. Lucas hesitantly turned around, immediately regretting that he did once he saw the sight of Riley crying.

"Riley.." He whispered, tears forming in his eyes as he started to walk towards Riley but she backed up.

"You lied to me!" She yelled. "After everything we've been through, I trusted you. And then this whole time you've been lying to me about everything!" She cried. Lucas shook his head.

"I wasn't lying." He whispered. Riley shook her head. "Stop that!" She shouted, walking up to him. "Stop saying things that you don't mean! Stop coming in and saving me from everything, just stop! All of this, you, everything! Has been so confusing. The way you act and the things you've done, I just don't understand it. You won't tell me! Why won't you tell me!?" Riley yelled, pushing Lucas back.

She could smell the alcohol on him, which just made her tears build even more.

"Because I wasn't supposed to let you get in! I wasn't supposed to let you get close to me!" Lucas shouted back. Riley felt angered, hurt.

"Why do you do this!? When someone finally cares about you, you get scared and run away! Why do you keep doing that?!" Riley spat, hitting Lucas on chest, crying.

"Why won't you let me all the way in?!" Riley yelled, hitting and pushing Lucas's chest over and over again as the tears fell from her eyes. Lucas suddenly grabbed her hands, clutching them together.

Riley looked up to him, as the tears flowed down her cheeks. She has never seen his eyes so dark before. It scared her.

"I wasn't supposed to meet you, I was supposed to know you." Lucas said lowly. Riley snatched her hands away from Lucas.

"This isn't you." Riley said, backing away. "What isn't me Riley!? This is me! And I can't change! Why do you want me to be so good!?" He yelled. "Because I don't want you to be what other people think you are!" Riley shouted back.

Lucas's face dropped, the muscles in his face softened, but his anger was just electrified.

"What? What don't you want me to be? A monster? A fighter? Someone who beats people up? Dangerous? Someone who doesn't let anyone get close to him!? Because last time I checked I'm still me!" Lucas yelled. Riley stood frozen, speechless. She knew that if he wasn't halfway drunk, he wouldn't be like this.

This wouldn't be happening if he was.

"I'm not good for you Riley. I don't know why you put hope into me. I don't deserve you!" Lucas shouted, expressing all of his anger out into the void.

"Is that what you're trying to do? Make me hate you?" Riley whispered, choking on her own tears.

Lucas's facial expressions softened, as he began to walk closer to Riley.

Riley slowly backed up, until she felt frozen in place. She didn't want to walk away from him, but she did. Her heart was breaking.

"I'm not the only one lying here. You are lying too!" Lucas said. "What?" Riley said, confused.

Lucas knew what he had to do, he knew who was coming for him but he just had to know from her. It would determine his decision.

"You're lying to your parents, you're lying to your friends, you're lying to me. But most of all you've been lying to yourself. You don't think of us as just friends, you can't possibly. We're not just friends." Lucas said, getting closer to Riley. Riley looked down to her feet, as more tears fell. She shook her head.

"I just need to know." Lucas whispered, before he lifted Riley's chin up so their eyes would meet. He has never seen Riley's eyes like this before, they looked like they were in pain. And that was like a stab to Lucas's chest.

"At a time I thought I had lost you forever. And then after all we've been through, we've denied it. But I'm done denying it, and you can't deny it either." Lucas said, as Riley shook her head. Lucas held her face in his hands, as a tear fell from his cheek.

She let Lucas in once. Now she couldn't do it again.

"Say it right now, say you've never had any feelings for me. Then leave. Look me in the eyes and tell me you don't feel something for me." Lucas whispered. Riley stood there breathless, not knowing what to do. She couldn't find the words to say anything.

Lucas desperately waited, he was putting his heart on the line. Riley wanted to kiss him, hug him and tell him everything would be okay.

She wanted to tell him that she loved him.

But she couldn't. He lied to her.

"I-I can't." Riley choked on her tears, shaking her head. A tear fell from Lucas's eye, before his facial expression hardened, as his jaw tensed.

"Riley!" A voice suddenly yelled, making Lucas turn around. Riley just stared at the back of Lucas, as a tear fell down her cheek.

Farkle stood in front of Lucas, he found them. Farkle noticed Riley was crying, and was now wondering what was going on.

"What's going on here—" before Farkle could finish his sentence, Lucas took his fist and punched it against his cheek.

"NO!" Riley screamed, as Lucas started to beat up Farkle. The alcohol was making his thoughts swirl and turn, and Lucas truly had no idea what was going on. Farkle could only get one punch on Lucas, before he just continually started to beat Farkle up, as blood became evident on his knuckles.

It was like some thing had taken over Lucas. Riley was screaming, trying to pull Lucas off of Farkle.

Lucas punched Farkle one last time, Farkle fell unconscious, before Lucas was suddenly thrown off of Farkle.

"Farkle!" Maya suddenly screamed. Riley ran down by Farkle, holding his head in her lap. She was crying uncontrollably.

Maya and Zay saw something in the parking lot, as they were looking for Lucas, and then they appeared here.

Zay held Lucas back. "What is wrong with you!?" Zay shouted, pushing Lucas back. He could smell the alcohol off of his breath.

Lucas glared down at Riley, as he held his jaw.

Maya and Riley were crying as they held a wounded Farkle in their arms.

Riley glared up to Lucas, as she clenched her jaw, tears overflowing.

"You're right, you have lost me forever." She gritted. Lucas just stared at her.

"I hate you."

Riley whispered, barely able to speak.

Lucas suddenly felt everything crash down, everything. His face became emotionless. Heart empty, is was as if all the alcohol in his veins was sucked out. His mouth was dry, and his eyes were wet.

Everyone just stared at Lucas, before he looked at Riley once more.

He didn't say anything, he couldn't.

He had made his decision.

He looked at what would be the last time at Riley, before he walked over to his truck.

He got in, before quickly driving off.

Leaving Riley there, heartbroken.

"I hate him so much." Riley cried silently, as she held Farkle in her arms.

That night, changed Riley and Lucas's lives,

forever.
