Kinda Amazing

Monday, after school in the auditorium, we had begun to learn choreography for Bring Me To Life. Matt, the choreographer, requested that we wear nametags, because where there were so many new people, he didn't know all of our names. I scribbled my name on a sticker and stuck it on my leg. We stood in a line across the back of the stage as Matt took the five guys, and five girls to the front of the stage. He paired them together and taught them the beginning part of choreography.

The girls stood in front of  the boys, with thier hands resting to their sides. The boys had their hands balled up in fists, placed on the shoulders of the ladies.  As Matt taught, the girl's right arm lifted slowly to the right, as the guy's hand slid down their arm. Once his hand met her wrist, gently, but firmly, the girl's hand was forced back to her side, slowly. The same thing happened with the left arm as well. The lady then moves her hands behind her, the guy takes her hands and she leas forward. He never lets go, and pulls her back to him.

My eyes were filled with admiration, because the dance fit the mood of the song perfectly. Almost like the guy was restricting the girl, but she still trusted him. Even though it was a little confusing, it somehow made perfect sense.

We danced for about an hour, then Matt excused us for a water break. I walked over to where Ellie and Margaret were standing, as we discussed our days at school.

"I like high school," I announced, "it's much better than middle school."

Ellie and Margaret nod their heads in agreement.

"There's more freedom." Margaret smiles.

"Yep." Ellie mumbles.

I am about to walk to the water fountain when I feel arms wrap around me. I turn around, and to my surprise, Sean is here. Still at school.

"Hey babe, what are you doing," he asks me.

"Nothing much, water break," I answer. I felt a bit bad about it, but really, I wanted Sean to leave me alone. He didn't like show choir all that much, and it seemed like lately, he was trying to distract me from it...

"Can you come to my locker with me?" He asks, completely ignoring the fact that Matt was announcing that our five minutes were up. Everybody makes their way to the auditorium, but I notice Amadeus staying near me, in a distant way.

"I can't." I tell him, but he grabs my wrist and starts to drag me, "Sean-stop it," I jerk my arm away, "I have practice, I can't go with you."

I break into a speedwalk to the door of the auditorium, where Amadeus stands waiting for me. He holds open the door, and as I slip in, he shuts it, almost bumping me. Sean marches up to him, standing inches away from Amadeus, his hands balled up in fists.

"Let me see her." He demands. He almost stood on his toes, for Amadeus was a head taller than he was. Sean reaches for the door handle, but Amadeus blocks his way.

"Look, man, this practice is manditory, and we can't have any spectators." Amadeus speaks calmly, and slowly. "I'm sorry dude."

"That's bull-" I open the door and grab Amadeus, gently pulling him in the door.

"Sean, I have to go, goodbye."

I shut the door before he can say another word.

Amadeus and I walk away from the door, when I notice my hands are trembling. I sit down in a chair below the stage, taking deep breaths. I try to calm myself down, and when Amadeus sits beside of me, I almost instantly feel better. He places his hand on my knee, patting me.

"He seemed to make a big deal out of nothing..does he do that often?"

I nod my head, "Yea..something like that."

"Hey, skype me tonight and we'll talk, okay?"

I nod my head and he hugs me. I sink into his arms and return the gesture.

Amadeus was already affecting my life so much, I barely knew him too. It was kinda amazing.
