A/N CEEEEELEBRATION TIME!

"What do you mean, prisoner?! We didn't do anything!" I ask.
"Look," replies the naked boy who is probably about seventeen. "At noon, the alpha will howl. That's the hottest time of the day. We have to count five minutes and then make a run for it. We'll fight if we have to."
"Why do you just assume that we're going to follow your plan?"
"Because," he mutters steadily, "It's the only way out of here."
"Ok fine, but if any of us get hurt, consider yourself dead."
His eyes widen, but then he controlls his emotions and nods.
"So, do think noon will be coming up soo-"
I am inturupted by a howling coming from the alpha's cave.
The boy winks. "I'm Rob."
"Oh. I'm Milo, and this is my... friend-" I flinch. "-Amber."
Rob nods and whispers, "Sixty! Sixty-one, sixty-two, sixty-three, sixty-four, sixty-five, sixty-six, sixty-seven, sixty-eight, sixty-nine, seventy."
I just sigh and look around. A few wolves got up from their no longer existing shade, and leave the camp. No wonder noon is so bad here; All of the shade disappears.
'Except for the alpha's. What a selfish one,' I think bitterly.
'What?' Amber asks.
'Oh, I was just thinking about how all of the shade disappears except for the alpha's.'
'Oh. What are we on?'
'Let's just wait for Rob to give... The signal, I guess?'
' 'Kay.'
"Two hundred. Two hundred one, two hundred two, two hundred three..." whispers Rob.
I watch wolves struggle to walk around the camp, panting hard and sweating. The funny thing is, all of us aren't even hot at all.
The wolves that were previously guarding us are now human, and panting and gasping for breath.
"THREE HUNDRED!" Rob shouts at the top of his lungs and we all run the opposite direction of the alpha den.
"Get them!" he shouts.

I run as fast as I can in human form. Rob had already gone wolf; He didn't have any clothes though.
I hop as I run and take off my pants, and tuck it under my arm. I throw a glance backwards. Basicly all the wolves of their camp are chasing after us.
I try to take off my shirt struggling with it until finally I'm free of clothes. I throw them in front of me as far as I could, then change to my wolf and snatch the falling clothes out of the air. I look around and Milo's wolf is carrying his clothes in his mouth too.
With a nod, we both take off as fast as we could, already far behind Rob.

My head is in my hands, sobbing only seconds away. The problem is, I've already sobbed as much as I can.
Basicly nobody in the pack believed that they would be okay, but Amy did. She told me that they would come back, and the only way to know for sure was to believe so that they could talk to us.
But Amber couldn't have survived. She was already weak. Her only hope would be Milo, but he can't even swim.
My best friend. My second-in-command. And my sister. REAL sister. TWIN sister.
Gone.
"D?" Fern's voice calls softly. "All of this... Depression... It's not good for you."
"I don't know what's good for anybody anymore."
"We're lost without you, D."
"I'm still here, aren't I?"
"Not the D I know. This is a D I've never seen before."
"It's still me."
"But it's not."
I sigh and don't reply. There's no sense arguing with a Herb Wolf. They're all stubborn.
"I brought you McDonald's."
I ignore her.
"It's your favorite."
Nothing.
"I even got a milkshake to go with it."
No reply.
"D listen to me. Now. Look me in the eye and tell me that this is healthy. You've locked everyone away. You've killed your spirit. Your honor, leadership. You're not eating. You're not sleeping. You're not protecting us. You're not... not LIVING, D! We're all tired of it! Please; Just eat! Do you think that Milo and Amber would want you to die with them? You promised us that you were going to fix this! But you're not! You're making it worse, harder, on us, on yourself! So cut it out and eat! And then get some sleep! And then run a border patrol! Come on!"
My head slowly rises at her 'speech.'
"Oh, I'm so sorry, ALPHA. I didn't know that I wasn't PLEASING you. GET OUT!!!!!" I shout.
Her eyes widen in shock before she drops the meal in her hands and races out the door before you could say, "Wolf."
I growl, breathing hard in anger. How dare she talk to me like that! I know what I'm doing!
I walk over to the delicious McDonald's meal. I grab my burger in a jerky movement, then take a bite. I'M alpha. I can run my own pack! I don't need some Herb Wolf's idea!
I slurp at my shake noisily.
How could this hurt my pack?! I mean, it's not like anyone knows that I'm in this condiction.... Right?

<10 minutes later>
I dip myself in the cool stream and let the water soak up my sweaty fur.
We lost them a few minutes ago, and we ran into a forest. Now, in the middle of it, is a cool clear stream. And here we are!
"I need to go back to my pack. I've been gone four days now," Rob states, "And they think I'm dead."
"Okay. Thank you so much for your help, Rob. Good luck," I say.
Milo throws me a nary glance.
"Thank you. Bye, Amber. Bye, M... Mike?"
"Milo," he growls.
"Oh yes! Yes, that's it! Bye, Milo!"
And just like that, Rob sprints off into the forest.

I watch him go with a shake of my head. Wow. I really do not trust that guy. He's just kinda... FREAKY.
My head turns to my mate, who looks over at me.
"Now what?" she asks.
I thought for a moment. I had a few things that I'd always wanted to do, and, say, this was basicly our vacation! Surely one day of fun would be alright...
"Do you want to have fun? Lots and lots of fun?" I ask hopefully.
"Sure. But what exactly do you have in mind?"
With a smile, I grab her hand and begin dragging her, following the stream, already planning some of the activities.

I know, I know, short, boring, yup. This is just a filling chapter. Next chapter is going to be short too, but it's going to be cool. It will be all of the activities that Milo and Amber do. You will see the playful side of Milo!
