"I wanna pwince." I looked at my daddy and kicked my feet.
"You don't worry about no prince. I'm your only prince."
"But not when I get married. I have to have anotha pwince."
"Nah, nah. You don't need no other prince. I'm prince enough."
"No! He's gonna be tall." I counted the list of things my prince had to have on my fingers
"Tall?"
"Mm-hmm."
"And he...he...he gon have a lot of money."
"So you a golddigger now?"
"What's uh old dooger?" I laughed. "I'm not an ol dooger daddy."
"That's what it's sounding like to me."
"Unh-unh." I giggled. "My pwince...my pwince gon be able to do magic."
"Magic?"
"Yes daddy. Scary magic. Like Oo-doo" I giggled in his lap and rolled around.
"Like Voodoo? Nah he ain't gon do Voodoo, cause I'mma do Voodoo and make him disappear."
"Unh-unh, cause he gon be big and strong and he gon fight you."
"Not your own daddy Munch."
"Yup, if you try to beat him up."
"Enough about this prince, the movie starting." He turned the volume up.
I sat on his lap and we watched the entire movie together. Laughing and reciting lines.
"Daddy if you leave we not gon be able to watch Cinderella no mo." I said as the movie was ending looking sad.
My dad was quiet.
I looked at him.
"Where you going daddy?"
He didn't respond. He just looked at me.
"You go away for a lotta bit of time or a little bit of time?"
"Lotta bit of time Munch."
"Why come?"
"Cause I got to get your carriage ready."
"My carriage!?" I stood up on the couch bright-eyed thinking about it.
"Yup. And gotta make sure they make your dress." He playfully pulled on my onesie.
"It's gonna be pretty like Cinderella's?" I held my finger in my mouth.
"Only the best for my Munch." He grabbed my waist and hugged me as I stood up on the couch.
"I got to make sure you get some glass slippers that fit." He tickled my feet and I squealed and fell on his lap.
"You gon bring the stuff to me?"
"Of course. When I get back. And we gon have a huge ball."
"Yay! Like Cinderella daddy?"
"Better!" He held me in the air. "Cause we black folks, we got rhythm. Cinderella white."
We both laughed.
He pulled me off the couch and held me like we were ballroom dancing.
"We ain't gon have none of that rich white folks music at our ball. Where we dancing all like this." He whirled me around properly like we were ballroom dancing at a formal dance.
"Naw Munch. We gon throw in some Marvin Gaye." He started doing the funky Chicken and I laughed at how silly he looked and copied him.
"We gon have some Isley Brothers. Some Funkadelic. Some Sam Cooke. Some Stevie. We gon have a soul ball." He started doing all these old school dances.
"Soul ball? There ain't no soul ball daddy." I giggled jumping up and down.
"Yes it is cause I'm gon make it one."
"But what's going to be our big song. We need a song daddy?"
He turned on Jackson 5- With A Child's heart.
And got on his knees to reach my height and pulled me close and danced with me. We both imagined we were at a ball. I felt his tears on my onesie.
"Why you cry daddy?"
"Cause it's gon be hard for me to be away from you Munch."
"But daddy you coming back so don't cry." I patted his head. "You coming back right?"
He just shook his head, then he finally said.
"I love you Munch and don't you ever forget that." He stopped and looked at me.
"I won't daddy. You my pwince. I can't forget my pwince." I jumped up in excitement.
"Don't you ever let no other prince take my place you hear me?" He held out his finger for us to pinky swear.
"Promise." I shook his pinky.
He hugged me tight and kissed my cheek.
"I love you daddy."
"Love you too Munch. Love you too."

Amber POV-
"Aug I'm right here baby, just go to sleep. You're not going to be able to function like this." I bent over the bed he was laying in with me and kissed his cheek.
Even with me laying up in coma, I was concerned about my honey. I wasn't there to spoil him or yell at him for not taking care of hisself.
He just kept looking at my sleeping face.
"Why can't I wake up? Ahhhhhhh!!!!!!" I yelled out in frustration. "I miss my babies Auggie and Sata. I want to see Miri. I want to stop Aug from worrying hisself sick. Please God let me wake up. Please." I sat in the empty chair in the corner and broke down in my hands.
"What happened to you not letting a another Prince take my place?" I heard a voice say.
I looked around the room and I didn't see anybody else but me and Aug.
"We were supposed to have the Soul Ball Munch."
I looked over at the door to see...
"Daddy?"
"How many daddies you got?" He walked over to me.
I stood up and wrapped my arms around his neck.
"Daddy I've missed you so much." I hugged him tight. He grabbed me tighter.
"It pained me to only see you through the glass that separated me while I was in jail."
"For something you didn't do. Oh daddy I'm sorry." I grabbed his face and kissed his cheek.
"I'm not." He stared in my eyes holding my hands. "Because look what I got out of it. A lawyer. Hitting them with the 1'2 punch in the court room." He smiled and did a boxing move.
I chuckled.
"I'm proud of you Munch. You made a great life for yourself. And if I had to approve a prince. He would be it. He threw a wonderful ball. Almost as good as the one I would have. Almost." He smirked.
"He did. That was one of the happiest days of my life. He had nothing but gave me everything that night." I looked over at Aug, who was still staring at me.
"Is he just gon stare all night?"
"He does that every night. Just waiting for the day I open my eyes. He refuses to close his eyes." I sighed.
"Durrell finally making big moves in music?"
"Yeah. He couldn't be trifling all his life." I laughed.
"That boy gave me so much trouble." My father shook his head.
"But when you were away he took good care of me and mama. That's why I'm happy for him."
"That's good. I've been meaning to tell, You have some interesting children." He sat down.
"Why you say that?" I sat on his lap.
"That Sata. She reminds me a lot of you. Feisty."
"Unh-unh. I'm more like Auggie."
He gave me a stale face.
"You had a mouth as big as the Red Sea and so does that little girl. Hopefully she'll grow out of it. If not, you're in for a rude awakening."
I laughed. "or maybe she'll use all that mouth to be a lawyer like I did."
"I hope she does." He smiled.
"aww munch it's so good to see you, and you to see me. It's not just me looking at you."
"Yeah." My eyes started to tear.
He wiped them. "How about we do that dance?"
"I would love that."
He snapped his fingers and the Jackson 5 - With A child's heart began to play.
He took my hand and we danced. I laid my head on his shoulder. Ohhhh I didn't want to leave this spot. To finally be able to have this moment with my dad.
"Daddy I been being to ask how did you really die?"
I looked around he was gone. Things went black. Then... I slowly saw a light.
"Amb. Amb. Baby. Baby." I heard Aug saying to me.
