We walked back through the streets of Denver at a relatively slow pace. I had more chance to take in my surroundings. There were skyscrapers barely standing, the windows on each were all smashed and on ever brick wall was a note about reporting anyone who you suspect to have the flare. The roads were cracked and full of pot holes, the people were miserable and bleak, 8 out of 10 wore masks, the others I assumed were immune and didn't need masks like us. I looked up to the sky and there were no birds, no hint of blue anywhere, just vast dark clouds as far as I could see which must have made everyone more depressed. "Hey what happened with the person who could sort these chips in our heads out?" I asked suddenly remembering why we came here in the first place. "Oh it was a bust, he wouldn't do it because there was a strong chance we would end up dying." Thomas replied and sped up to catch up with Brenda who had taken the lead looking down alleys and streets looking for any clues as to where the right arm would be. I was glad she was doing it, I walked along with Minho next to me, I was exhausted. "You want a lift?" Minho said getting nearer to me "no I'm fine I just need to rest" I replied. "But we can't stop we need to be quick" and before I knew it Minho had thrown his gun and pack to Thomas and lifted me onto his back, his hands were on the back of my thighs that were around his torso. "I got you just try and hold on. It'll make it easier" he smiled and picked up the pace to catch up with everyone else. "Awh Minho! You wanna give me a lift after greenie?" Thomas moaned. "Get lost shank!!" Minho said nudging him, they both laughed, it was nice to hear them laugh, I even saw Brenda and Jorge crack a smile.
"Hey down here!" Brenda whispered and she ducked into a land so inconspicuous you wouldn't know if you weren't looking. "I need to put you down greenie" Minho said and slowly lowered my legs to the ground, he steadied me and we walked down the lane.
A wooden door was on the left with a red and white flag above it. Thomas knocked and the door swamp open. "Hey there shank!" A voice said. "Gally?!" Thomas smiled and walked in the door Brenda, Jorge and Minho followed. Gally looked around and saw me. "Well well well. I'm not dead. You supposed!" He said seemingly angry. "I'm sorry Gally. You killed chuck. I will never forgive you for that." I said sourly. He hung his head "I know. I'm sorry. They made me do it. WICKED made me do it. Water under the bridge now?" He held his hand out, I hesitated but shook his hand and gave him a small smile. I followed him in and he closed the door behind me.
"Welcome to the right arm!" He said and opened another door into a large room, about twenty people were sat around talking and eating and a few were sleeping. "I'm going to take you to Vince. He'll fill you in" and we followed Gally up the stairs watching the other people giving us shady looks.
