We ran after the train. Tobias jumped in first and then helped me in.
"I missed you Tris." Tobias said
"I missed you too." I said
He put his forehead on mine. He wrapped his arms around my waist and I wrapped my arms around his neck. We stayed there for a while. Then we pulled apart and jumped off the train. We ran back to Dauntless. Uriah ran up to us.
"Will just got this crazy idea. Him and Christina are headed toward the faris wheel." Uriah said
We all ran toward the faris wheel. Will and Christina were at the bottom.
"Who's going to the top?" Will asked as he tossed a long bunjee cord in his hand
I held my hand out. Will placed the bunjee cord in my hand.
"How long is that thing?" Uriah asked
"100 yards." Will said
"Are you sure this is safe?" Christina asked
"I've done this before." I said
Will gave me a harness. I put it on. I started to climb up the side of the faris wheel. When I got to the top, I hooked the bunjee cord around the top of the wheel. I sent the bunjee cord down. I felt a tug. I found an earpiece in the pocket of my harness. I put it in my ear.
"Tris, throw your harness down." Will said
I unhooked my harness and threw it down. I heard a gunshot. I ducked.
"What was that?" Will yelled
"Someone's shooting at me." I said
A bullet found my arm. I screamed.
"Tris, calm down. Four is gonna turn the faris wheel so you can get down." Will said
"I don't know if I can hold on to the bar long enough." I said
Another bullet found my stomach. I cried out.
"Tris get on the bar. Use the bunjee cord." Will said
I slowly strapped myself to the bar on the wheel. Another bullet found my leg.
"Will," I whispered
"Tris hold on!" Will yelled
"I cant" I said
The bunjee cord came loose and fell to the ground. I held onto the bar with my hands.
"Hurry! She's slipping!" Will yelled at Tobias
"Four!" Uriah yelled
The wheel started turning faster. My grip started to fail. I was still 20 feet above the ground. Tobias turned the wheel faster. Another bullet found my shoulder blade. I gritted my teeth. My grip failed and I fell. I closed my eyes and let myself fall.
"Tell Tobias I love him." I whispered into the earpiece
"Four!" Uriah yelled
I hit something hard.
"Get her on her feet." Uriah said
I opened my eyes. I saw Uriah and Tobias on each side of me. They set me on my feet and I collapsed. Tobias caught me.
"Did you get shot?" Christina asked
I nodded.
"Where?" Tobias asked
"Arm, shoulder, ah, um, leg and stomach." I said as pain shot through me
"She's not gonna be able to get on the train." Will said
"No. I can do it." I said
"Are you sure?" Christina asked
"Yeah." I said
We walked to the train tracks. The train was coming toward us. Everyone ran ahead of me to open the doors. After Tobias jumped into the last car with the others. I ran. I ignored the pain in my leg and ran as fast as I could. A bullet found my stomach. I collapsed to the ground. I was losing blood fast. Another bullet found my side. The train was gone. I felt someone pick me up.
"I'm sorry we had to do it this way Tris. Don't worry you'll be fine. Those are tranquil bullets. You'll be fine. Abby needs to talk to you and it's very important." A girl said
I blacked out.
I woke in an Erudite hospital. Abby was sitting by my bed. She saw I was awake and went to get a nurse. The nurse unhooked me from the machines and helped me off the bed. Abby led me to her office. She sat at her desk. I sat in a chair across from her.
"Hello Tris. I am sorry about how we got you here. It's important. You can't tell anyone you were here." Abby said
"You made a mistake. Once Four realizes I'm here, he and everyone else are gonna storm in here and start a war." I said
"We've told Four that Jack is after you and that he should stay in Dauntless and make a plan with Will." Abby said
"Why am I here?"
"I realized what my mother was trying to do. Before you killed her, she made an alliance with Jack. Jack found out you killed her and now he is building an army with everyone who is still following my mother's plans. I want Dauntless to team up with Erudite to take them down."
"I am willing. I think Four will be in on this too. If he is in, I could get the whole faction to fight."
"Good. Meet me next week with your plan. Oh and before you leave, we might want to make you look beat up."
"Shoot me in the leg."
"What?"
"Make it believable."
Abby shot me in the leg. I hobble out of Erudite. I walked to Dauntless. I pulled out my knife and cut a small cut in my hand. I smeared blood over my arm and shoulder. I put the knife back and walked into the compound wobbling. Zeke saw me.
"Tris!" Zeke yelled
"Zeke." I said
Zeke hugged me.
"Where were you? Four has been freaking out for the last 2 days." Zeke said
"Where is he? I need to talk to him." I said
Zeke led me to the Pit. I saw Tobias, Will and Uriah talking.
"Four!" Zeke yelled
Tobias turned around. I limped towards him. I jumped into his arms. Tears ran down my face.
"Where were you?" Tobias asked, not letting go
I pulled away from him.
"While I was trying to get on the train and someone shot me and they took me to Jack. He's after me. He is still going with Jeanine's plans." I said
He led me to his office in the Pire. Uriah, Will and Zeke followed us. Tobias closed the door behind us.
"Is Abby in on this too?" Tobias asked
"No. She wants Dauntless and Erudite to team up to take Candor down." I said
"So where were you?" Uriah asked
"I was in Candor but Abby had some guards get me out and she explained everything." I said
"Explain then." Will said
I explained everything to them.
"So what should we do?" Tobias asked
"I could go to Candor-"
"I am not letting you sacrifice yourself again." Tobias said
"I'll go to Candor with all of you. Abby is putting together a team to attack Candor." I said
I heard a scream outside this office. I got up and ran out. I followed the noise to the Pit. A man in a black and white suit had Hector by the throat with a knife.
"Tris help me!" Hector yelled
"Let him go!" I yelled as I jumped down to his level
"I can't do that Tris. You know why." He said
I recognized him. It was Peter.
"Peter, let him go." I said
"Tris, I hear everyday from the people at Candor how bad I hated you." Peter said
"What are you talking about?" I said
"Just come with me Tris. Please. Come with me. I need you to come with me." Peter said releasing Hector
Hector ran over to me. I wrapped him up in my arms.
"Listen to Four. Tell him it's time." I whispered to Hector
I pulled away from Hector. I put him behind me. I slowly walked toward Peter.
"Tris!" Tobias yelled
Hector ran up to him and told him what I told Hector to tell Four. Peter grabbed my arm and led me out of Dauntless.
