if i give in to honesty
i have said very many lies
and these just with my eyes
all the more i've claimed
with this voice of mine
and that may be my gravest mistake
and how my heart has met the stake
where it slowly burns
there is little relief as i confess
all the old untruths
i don't know the color of my soul
my highest hope is grey
and to one day
wear white
and in every sincerity
give out this heart i guard
the weight made lighter in trust
as yet i've never felt
toward any human hands
