Chapter 28
Nella’s POV
I woke up and I felt like I was on a steel chair. My hands were tied behind me and my feet were tied at the foot of the chair. I opened my eyes and I saw Jake tied in front of me. He was looking at me and when he saw me open my eyes he sighed. There was a light bulb above our heads and it was the only thing that illuminated the room.
“what happened?” I asked and he just looked like he was going to kill someone.
“Melissa shot you and me with tranquilizer.”
“How was she able to carry us down the 10th floor?!”
“She hired some people to bring us to the parking lot and bring us here.”
“Where is HERE?”
“I don’t know Nell. I just woke up.” Then there was a bright light that came from a door.
“I see you’re awake.” It was Melissa.
“I told you to watch your back Nella. You don’t think I will just walk around and let you steal from me? You slut! You took him away from me before then now you’re taking him again?!” she was now in front of me. she raised her hands and slapped me hard in the face. I cut my lip and I tasted blood.
“I will make sure you don’t leave this place alive. And as for you Jake, you betrayed me. how can you just let her go? I thought you love her!” she was now shouting at Jake and slapping him non-stop.
“You were working with her?!” I asked Jake in disbelief. How can he do this to me? all these years he knew and he never told me.
“She threatened to hurt you if I don’t help her. I wanted you to be safe. I didn’t know it will end up like this.” Jake told me pleading.
“Did you know that he made sure you don’t meet with Spike? Did you know that he was the one who told me whenever you were going somewhere so that I get to make sure that Spike doesn’t go there? Did you know that he was the one who chased Spike and got him into an accident? And this is the thing I know you never knew, he was the one who called me and told me that he brought Spike to the hospital.”
My eyes were wide, tears running down my face. All this time, I thought that Jake was there for me, but the truth is, he was just feeling the guilt and he wanted to make me believe that he meant well.
“Nella, don’t listen to her! She told me she would hurt you! I had no other choice! I loved you too much!”
“You had a choice! You could have called the police or told me! how could you do this to me?! I will never forgive you! I will never forget!”
“Nella, I’m sorry. I was doing it for you..” he was now crying and looking down. Melissa just laughed and walked out of the dark room again.
“I will make sure that Spike thinks you were kidnapped. I’ll ask for money, then when he comes, I will kill you in front of him and make him forget again.”
She left us in the room and Jake tried to talk to me but I wouldn’t listen. I know it was childish but what can I do?! He stole 5 years of my life when he agreed to help Melissa.
Spike’s POV
Nella has been gone for 2 days. I have filed a missing persons report and the police are in our apartment now looking through our surveillance cameras. Good thing it was hidden well, we saw Melissa’s face and the face of 4 other men who, according to the police were wanted gang members. They were apparently part of a notorious gang that kill people who cross them. the odd thing was, how did Melissa know these guys?
“Mr. Park, you have a call. We will tamper it and make sure you talk to her long enough for us to know where she is.”
I nodded. Mr. Ports’ lawyers have finished fixing my case and I can now use my real name again and my diplomas were all fixed.
“hello?”
“hello, Mr. Park.” A man’s voice said.
“who are you?! Do you have Nella? I swear if you touch-“ I was cut when the man on the other line talked.
“shut up and listen well. You better bring $4M to an abandoned warehouse. Make sure you don’t bring any police,” the police were telling me to go on and that they will be able to track them in a few more minutes.
‘keep him talking’ the police said.
“if you bring any police, Nella and Jake will die.”
“I want to talk to Melissa!”
“Hello, Spike.”
“Melissa! Give Nella and Jake back now!”
“you can’t tell me what to do Spike! You don’t own me, and let me make this clear! You are to bring the money on your own! If I hear any cop sirens, I will kill these two in a heartbeat. Don’t test me Spike.” Then she hang up.
“we got them.” The police told me and I went to my room to get ready to get Nella back.
Nella’s POV
I don’t know just how long I have been sitting in this chair but I can say that it was longer than 10 hours. My butt was sore my hands are scraped and bloody because of the goddamn ropes, my face had bruises because Melissa would come in here and bitch to me and I would answer her back and she would slap me. she would come and I wouldn’t answer her and she would slap me.
I was still not talking to Jake and I know that I have to talk to him soon so that we could escape but I can’t find it in me to talk.
“Nella, I know I’m not in the right position to say this but I will say it anyway. Stop acting like a child and talk to me already. We have to have a plan when Spike gets here so that we can escape. I have a plan, but this will only work if you cooperate and talk to me.”
“ok. I’m listening.”
“before Melissa comes back, we have to remove these ropes. Mine are almost off and I can untie yours. When Melissa comes, act like your asleep and make sure you don’t budge even if she hits you hard, that way I can attack her and we can make a run for it.” I nodded and after a few minutes, Jake was free and was behind me. he removed the ropes from my sore wrists and sat back down. He told me to start acting like I was asleep because Melissa will be coming soon.
After a few more minutes, Melissa came walking in. she was smirking and I pretended to sleep.
“wake up, slut.” She said but I didn’t move.
“I said wake up!” she slapped me but I just kept quiet and made my head move like I was unconscious.
“shit!” Melissa shouted then walked to the door, “Jordan, did you feed them today? I think she passed out!” Melissa was yelling.
“I fed them. Maybe she’s just dozed off.” Jordan said.
“shit! Nella you better wake up or I’m going to bitch slap you!” she threatened but I kept my head in the same position. She slapped me and I didn’t move. She was going to slap me again when Jake took his chair and hit her. she was now on the floor but she was still conscious.
“run!” jake told me and I ran like I was being chased by a rabid dog.
“Stop them!” Melissa was shouting but 2 of the men were asleep and just woke up when she shouted and we were now passed them. the other 2 were somewhere but we didn’t see them.
We kept running and Jake was holding my hands making sure that I was with him. We ran until we reached the outside of the warehouse.
“where are we going to go? We don’t know where we are!” I told Jake while I was panting.
“follow me.” Jake ran towards the side of the warehouse and hid in its shadows. We saw Melissa and the other 2 guys running.
“Kyle go that way bring Mark with you! Josh you go there! Jordan and I will search the vicinity. They couldn’t have gone far!” Melissa shouted.
We pressed our backs to the wall and made sure that we were deep in the shadows. Melissa and Jordan ran passed us.
“that was close. We can’t ran that way now, they’re hounding the place!” I whispered yelled to Jake.
“shhh! Don’t make too much noise Nella.” He motioned for me to keep quiet and follow him. We walked back inside the warehouse and looked for a phone. When I saw the cell on the table I quickly got it and dialed Spike’s number.
“Hello?”
“Spike! Thank god!”
“Nella?! Are you ok? Are you hurt? did they hurt you? Where’s Jake?”
“Spike listen to me! we’re fine. You have to come quick!”
“I’m on my way, I have their money. Make sure you do what they say ok? I’ll be right there.”
“we managed to untie ourselves and we’re hiding now.”
“just stay put. We’re almost there.”
“ok, I love you!”
“I love you too, I’m coming.” I hang up and Jake was beside me. we heard voices coming from the outside so we ran to a corner.
“shit! Where the hell are they?!” Jordan was shouting.
“if you don’t find that bitch, I won’t pay you!” Melissa shouted. She went to the back of the warehouse and the 4 men stood there.
“we better find that troublesome bitch or Melissa will tell “daddy” we screwed up! Make sure you look everywhere! She can’t have gone far!” they left and Jake and I slowly walked out of our hiding place.
“daddy? Melissa’s dad is a gangster?!” I asked Jake and he just shrugged his shoulders. And shake his head.
“I don’t know but we better look for a better hiding place before Spike gets here.” I nodded and we went behind the boxes near the back. We saw the men ran to and from the warehouse cursing and vowing to kill me and Jake when they find us.
I saw Melissa walking out of the backroom with clean clothes on and she looked like she just bathe.
“did you find them yet?” they shook their heads
“ok here’s the plan. When spike comes, we will act like we still have them and make sure you get the money. Then when we have the money, Jordan, you go back inside and get my tranquilizer gun. I will make sure he doesn’t leave.”
“got it.”
“he should be arriving any minute. Make sure your faces are covered.” They nodded and started loading their guns.
Melissa walked to our hiding place. We stopped moving and she opened the box near our heads.
“the other ammos are here, make sure your guns are loaded. I want her dead when you find her.”
She walked back to the backroom and the men sat down. They started loading their guns then after a while I heard cars approach.
Melissa ran out of the backroom, “he’s here.”

so tell me what you think and i will do a story from those titles. contrary to what teachers say, i think of a title and make my story after. XD
