Landon and Leighton
It's been many months later and Leighton was close to her due date on the babies. Since she's having twins the doctor suggested a scheduled c-section, so thats what Leighton and Landon decided on. They had got the twins nursery ready, an adorable unisex one, Leighton and Landon worked on it for weeks making sure it was just right, and Leighton was always going in there adding new things, and clothes that she had bought, they had a ton of things ready for the twins, no matter what their genders turned out to be.
It was the morning of her c-section and Landon was up and ready, and downstairs making breakfast for Leighton.
Leighton starts waking up to the smell of pancakes and slowly gets up and out of bed, shes huge now since she was about 9 months with the twins.
She walks down and Landon heres her and turns around and smiles "Good morning babe"
Leighton smiles "Good morning honey" She yawns
"I made you pancakes, I was just about to come wake you up"
"That was so nice of you, what made you decide to do that?" She asks sitting down at the table
"Just wanted to enjoy our last breakfast thats just us" He kisses her cheek and puts a plate in front of her
She smiles "Aw how sweet" She starts eating, when Landon comes and sits down by her eating too
"So are you excited for today?" Landon asks
Leighton nods "I am very excited, but I'm also quite nervous.."
"Don't worry honey you'll do great okay?"
Leighton nods and they both soon finish eating.
After a while Leighton gets ready too and they were on their way to the hospital.
Leighton was sitting in the front seat rubbing her big belly, while Landon was driving.
"I can't wait to find out their genders, I have finally decided 9 months was way too long" Leighton says
Landon laughs "You kill me"
Leighton laughs too "It's true though"
"I agree, I would have rather known, but I guess if we have another then we can find out."
Leighton looks at him and smiles "You really think we will have another?"
Landon glances at her as he's driving "Woah lets not get too far ahead" He laughs "I mean if we do end up having another we can find out the gender, but as of now lets just take one at a time"
"You mean two"
"Yes two, sorry"
"It's okay" Leighton chuckles a little "But your probably right, we need to see how we handle the twins before we add anymore"
"I agree" Landon says pulling into the hospital and parks "It's time" He smiles
Leighton smiles too "I know, finally"
Landon chuckles "Come on" He gets out
Leighton does too and they walk in together holding each others hands
When they get back in a room Leighton was laying in a bed just getting some shots to numb her, and Landon was sitting right next to her holding her hand.
Soon her Obgyn walks in and smiles "Ready for this Leighton?"
Leighton smiles and nods "Yes"
The doctor smiles and pushes her bed into the operation room and Landon follows and stands in there with her holding her hand as they start the c-section.
She was in there for a while before both babies are both and they stitched Leighton up and got her in a clean bed and back into her room.
"Are you guys ready to see your babies?" The doctor walks in smiling
"Yes" Leighton and Landon both say happily
Then 2 nurse walked in, one carrying a little baby wrapped in a blue blanket, and another one carrying a little baby wrapped in a pink blanket.
"A boy and a girl" Landon says softly smiling as the nurses put both babies in Leighton's arms first
Leighton smiles big and tears up seeing her babies for the very first time Landon looks at them with her smiling.
"Do you guys have names picked out?" The nurse asks
Leighton looks at Landon and he nods
"For the boy we decided Alexander David" Leighton says
"And for the girl Addison Marie" Landon smiles
The doctor smiles "Aw how cute" She says writing them down
"Any specific reason for those names?" She asks "I love hearing the stories behind a babies name"
Leighton smiles "Well we wanted the twins to have the same first letter so we had names picked out for all the gender possibilities, and for one girl and one boy we decided Alexander and Addison, and for nicknames call them Alex, and Addy."
"And then for the middle names we decided if it was one boy and one girl we would give them the same middle names that we have, and Leightons is Marie, and mine is David, so thats how we decided middle names" Landon says and smiles
The doctor smiles "Aw thats so cute"
"Thank you" Leighton says
"I'll let you guys spend time with your new little ones for a little, then I will come back and update you on some things" The doctor says before walking out.
"Want to hold them?" Leighton asks looking at Landon
"Sure, or give me one and you can still hold one" He smiles
She smiles and Landon reaches over and takes Alexander from her "Aren't they so cute and small?" Leighton says
Landon nods "They are" He smiles "I can't believe their here"
"Me either" Leighton smiles then yawns
"Tired honey?"
She nods
"Here let me take her and then you can take a nap" Landon says getting up and Laying Alex down in a crib in the room and takes Addy from Leighton
"Thank you honey"
"Of course, just get some rest" Landon says kissing her head and then sitting back down
Leighton lays down in the bed and falling asleep
As she was asleep the twins had fallen asleep as well, both in cribs, and Landon laid back some in the chair falling asleep as well.
After a while Landon was up again with Addy holding her Alex was still asleep.
Leighton slowly started waking up and Landon smiles "Good Afternoon"
Leighton yawns "Hi"
"Sleep well?"
She nods and the doctor walks in "Hello" She smiles
"Hi" Landon and Leighton both say
"So I just wanted to talk to you guys about somethings" She says "Are you thinking about nursing or doing formula?" The doctor asks looking at Leighton
"Um, well I want to try nursing, and if that don't work out, I wanted to pump and bottle feed them my breast milk"
She nods "Okay perfect, that was what I was going to suggest, would you try and nurse with Addison for me please since she's awake"
Leighton nods and Landon hands Addison to her
Leighton pulls up her shirt and tries to latch Addison on, and she does with one try and starts drinking
The doctor smiles "Wow that was easy, I guess shes going to be an easy one, normally babies who latch on right away will be like that most of the time after"
Leighton smiles and looks down at Addison
"Now Alexander might not be as easy, or he could be, so when you get home you can try it out and see how he responds. If he takes a while to latch on, but still starts eating keep trying it and see if he gets used to it, if he don't seem to want to at all, you might want to try bottle feeding him, both is just as good for the babies" She smiles
Leighton nods "Okay" She says when Addison stops, and she puts her over her shoulder and pats her back softly.
The doctor and Landon smile watching
Addison burps her Leighton and the doctor looks at her "I think she's going to be an easy one to feed"
Leighton smiles "I hope so"
"We also need go over diaper changing, so dad want to try this one?" She smiles looking at Landon
"Ummm" Landon says and Leighton smiles "Oh come on Daddy" She chuckles handing Addison to him
"Okay I guess I can try.." He says and takes her
The doctor smiles "Don't worry you can handle this, just bring her over here to the diaper changer" She points
He gets up and follows her over there laying Addison down
"So undo her onesie, and her diaper she has on"
"Okay.." He does it nervous
"Oh perfect, she only peed so this won't be bad at all" She says "Now take the diaper off and wrap it up and throw it out, then wipe her with a wipe"
He nods and starts doing that Addison was squirming a little bit but not much at all, so far she was being a really good baby
"Okay good, now take a new diaper and put it on her" She says
Landon picks it up and starts to "Thats backwards" The doctor smiles and Leighton chuckles some from the bed
"Hey I'm trying" He says in response to Leighton and turns the diaper around and puts it on right and buttons her onesie back up
"There you go, perfect!" The doctor smiles and Leighton does too
"Really? thats it? I did it right?" Landon smiles picking Addison back up
"Yes you did" The doctor chuckles
Landon smiles happy he did it right and looks at Addison "See daddy going to take good care of you honey" Leighton smiles hearing him say that made her even more happy.
"And Leighton, for your stitches you need to be really careful for the next 2 weeks, no picking up anything heavier then your babies, okay?"
Leighton nods
"And for walking your going to be really sore for a while, so you might need some help walking"
"Okay, thank you" Leighton says
"Of course" The doctor smiles
After a while they get home and settled in with their new twins, they were both so happy to be starting their family together with their 2 new beautiful children.
