Vans Warped Tour 2015

By GabyInRevolt16

Hi guys! So I decided that I wanted to write about my first warped tour experience from this summer so yeah :) hope you enjoy ❤️

Saturday, June 27th 2015:

I woke up around six thirty in the morning so I could start to get ready for warped since I needed to make sure I had enough time to get ready, and also because I live two hours away from Dallas Texas, which was where I was going for warped tour.

My mom and I eventually left our house around eight thirty and made it to where warped was being held at around eleven, which is when they started to let people in and when warped officially starts for the day.

We ate a little before going to warped so we wouldn't have to buy any food there or be hungry for the remainder of the day. I barely ate anything though since I wasn't really hungry at all and plus I was too nervous/excited for warped to eat anything.

Once we got to the venue the first thing we did was buy a map & schedule so we would know where everything was at and know all the times the bands I wanted to see were playing & what stages they were going to be playing on.

The first thing I saw was the Warped Youtubers tent and I was going to go meet them since I really wanted to but the line was insanely LONG. There was SO many people in line to meet them it was crazy. So I decided that I would just go ahead and buy some march from them and come back later to see if the line would eventually shorten down. I ended up getting a Damon fizzy bracelet and t-shirt that says Fizzy Family Forever.

Unfortunately Mod Sun was one of the very first artist to perform early in the morning and since I got there when it was almost twelve I sadly had to miss his set. The next band that I wanted to see perform was Set It Off so I made my way to the left journeys stage and waited for them to go on. I luckily got there about twenty minutes before they performed so I had a pretty good spot and wasn't too far away from the stage.

I was pretty excited to see Set It Off perform since their one of my favorite bands and I've been wanting to see them live in concert for a very long time now and I had to miss seeing them back in March when they came to Dallas with Against The Current and As It Is. So I was pretty happy that I finally had the chance to see them for the first time. I was honestly blown away from their set! Cody has such an amazing voice live and Set It Off definitely knows how to put on a good show. I took a lot of pictures of them and got three videos. One of the videos was of the crowd holding Cody up and of him crowd surfing, but since most of the crowd consisted of teenage girls, Cody ended up falling down into the crowd but somehow he still managed to sing very good the whole entire time!

As soon as Set It Off was done performing As It Is immediately started to play. Almost everybody in the crowd including me ran over to the right journeys stage since they were right next to where Set It Off performed. Even though I really love As It Is, I only stayed and watched them perform three songs since I knew Set It Off was supposed to have a meet & greet right at that moment. But I did get a lot of pictures of patty and the rest of the band and one video of them performing one of their older songs.

Once I made my way over to Set It Off's Merch tent I saw that there was a really long line for the meet up and they weren't going to come out for another thirty minutes when I was supposed to see Palisades perform. I was a little disappointed since I really wanted to meet Set It Off but I ended up buying a tank top with their faces on it.

After that my mom and I started to look for the Kevin Says Stage since that's the stage Palisades was going to perform on. While I was looking for it I saw Kenny and Alex from Youth In Revolt walking around & selling their EP. I called out their names and ended up having a conversation with them! They were SO sweet and cute, it was amazing. They also asked me if I wanted a picture with them so of course I said YES. After that they told me where their Merch tent was and what time they were having a meet & greet. I thanked them for everything and continued to make my way to the Kevin Says Stage.

Another band was still performing while I got there so I just waited and watched the band performed. I think the band was Candy Hearts, I may be wrong, I don't really remember. But since there was barely any people there I managed to get SECOND ROW. I was very happy since Palisades was one of the bands I wanted to see up close and I luckily got my wish.

Palisades performance was absolutely one of the best performances I have ever saw! And definitely one of the very best at warped, no doubt about it. Their set was absolutely WILD & CRAZY. Their was a lot of dancing, jumping, and moshing. I got pushed around a lot since a lot of the people behind me were moshing and shit. It was sort of annoying since I was trying to record videos and take pictures most of the time, but other than that it was great!

Right after palisades set was done I immediately went over to their Merch tent and bought a hoodie of them and got in line to meet Brandon and Lou since the rest of the band wasn't doing meet and greets at that moment and the line wasn't long. I had both Lou and Brandon sign my warped tour ticket and got to take a few pictures with them. They were so friendly and nice to me! I told them their set was the best one so far of the day and they smiled at me and thanked me for supporting them.

Once I left their Merch tent I started to look around and look at all the Merch tents of my favorite bands so I could buy some Merch since I still had basically a whole hour until Asking Alexandria performed. Sadly PVRIS was going to be performing at the same time as AA so I had to choose between them two. I knew that PVRIS was going to come back to Dallas for another tour sometimes in the fall so I decided that I would just see AA. Plus I knew that Asking Alexandria wouldn't come back to the United States for a while since their going to have tours in the UK later this year. And also because I wanted to see AA with Denis since I absolutely adore Denis & I've been a fan of his since he was in Make Me Famous and Down & Dirty.

While I was looking around at all the Merch tents I ran into Acacia Freaking Brinley. (AKA my Queen👑). I was literally so nervous to meet her. She was so tall and cute! She was absolutely sweet and took pictures with me and even signed my warped ticket also. She looked flawless in every picture we took, but then there was me... All hot and sweaty from being in the heat all day plus not to mention I was jumping around a lot during palisades set.

After I was done talking to Acacia I finished looking at all the Merch tents and ended up buying Metro Stations new album Savior. (Which I highly recommend you guys buy since I've been having it on repeat for the last two weeks & im also listening to it right now while I'm writing this lol). As I was walking around I noticed that True Arahill was at his bands Youth In Revolt Merch tent, so I walked over there and bought a poster and had True sign it. I couldn't help but smile when I saw that True put a heart by his name on my poster. Let me tell you guys, True was literally the nicest and most sweet guy I've ever met in my whole entire life. He was such a sweetheart. He called me his love and kept smiling at me the whole time we talked. He asked me "what's your name love?" And I literally took like 5 seconds to tell him my name is Gaby Since I was blushing like crazy and also because I have a huge ass crush on him. And he also looked so adorable since he was wearing a flower crown. I'm pretty sure I fangirled more at that moment than I have when him and Kenny followed me on Instagram. True asked me if I was coming out to see his band perform and of course I told him yes. Youth in revolt was one of my top bands that I had to see at warped no matter what.

After I said goodbye to true my mom and I found a spot to sit down and relax for a while before we had to go see Asking Alexandria perform. By the time we made it to the Shark Stage there was already a lot of people there since Black Veil Brides was playing right before. I didn't get a bad spot but I do wish I could have gotten closer to the stage since a lot of the people in front of me were tall and I'm short. So it sort of sucked when I wanted to take good pictures and videos of the boys.

Asking Alexandria's performance was absolutely FANTASTIC. Denis brought so much energy to their set and his screams were amazing and his singing voice was so beautiful to hear live. I literally cried and screamed and got very emotional during their set since they've been one of my favorite bands ever since I was in 7th grade, which was almost five years ago. I highly recommend you guys to go see AA this year at warped if you haven't been yet. Their just so good live. I'm so glad that Denis is apart of this family now. They honestly couldn't have picked a better vocalist.

Once AA was done performing I decided to cool off and relax for a while until I had to go see Youth In Revolt play. I got to the Ernie ball stage about twenty minutes before Youth In Revolt were supposed to go on and watched a band play that was already on the stage at the time. After that band was done performing, a lot of the people left so I got FRONT FUCKING ROW to see Youth In Revolt. I was SO happy since I would be able to see them without any people in my way.

I got some pretty good pictures of True and the rest of the band since I was so close to them without any people in front of me. The best part of Youth In Revolts performance was when true came right up to me and started to sing. There was literally NO space between us. I thought I was going to die of happiness from how close he was to me. I could have literally just put my arms around him and gave him a hug.

After they were done performing they were having signings plus meet & greets so of course I was going to go. Sadly Ben Bruce was having his meet up at the same time and of course the line to meet him was super duper long.

I had George, Scotty, Alex and Kenny sign my poster since True already did and I got to take pictures with all of them again for the third time that day. As I was about to leave their tent True stopped me and told me that he loved me😭 of course I told him that I loved him back! I honestly don't know how I survived all of that cuteness from him. But I did.

As I was walking around the venue I passed the warped Youtubers tent again and saw that Damon Fizzy came back to meet some more fans. But of course the line was still insanely long and I didn't want to get in the line and have to wait for two hours to only have me get up in the front to have him not there anymore since I know that has happened to a few people before at warped. Plus I didn't want to miss Our Last Night's set because of that.

While I waited for Our Last Night to come on, I watched some of Beartooth's set since they were on the same stage that Our Last Night was going to be on.

Thankfully a lot of people left right after Beartooth since Pierce The Veil was going to be on at the same time as Our Last Night. I wanted to see PTV also but I knew that their crowd was going to be packed and I wouldn't get to see them very well.

I ended up getting third row for Our Last Night and got a very good view of them! In the middle of their set I decided to leave and buy Merch from their tent that was right beside the stage, so I could still see them. I bought a poster and their new album Younger Dreams.

As I was walking back to the crowd I saw Brian from PVRIS watching Our Last Night from the very back. I asked him for a picture and he also signed my warped ticket. I told him that I missed PVRIS' set and he told me not to worry since they were coming back to Texas later this year for more tours.

After I said goodbye to him I finished watching Our Last Night perform and then my mom and I made our way back to our car to go home. We walked to where all the tour buses were and I ran into Youth In Revolt AGAIN for the fourth time. They all waved bye at me as they were loading everything up into their tour bus.

So that's my first Warped Tour Experience! I hope you guys enjoyed reading it and I hope you guys have fun at warped this year if your going! I absolutely loved Warped even though I had to miss six other bands that I wanted to see, but it's alright. I hope I'll get to go again next year!
