Over a week has passed and certain things have changed during the time with the class. After the Scavenger Hunter, Lana managed to find a Sparkling Stone and the Kahuna made it into her very own Z-Ring. The day after Ash and Lana had there chance to face the Lord of the Lake. After the trial Lana earned the Z Crystal and her Popplio learned Aqua Jet during the battle as well.
A couple days later, it was time for a celebration called the Wela Fire Festival. It is an event that has been celebrated by the citizens of Akala Island and Fire Type enthusiasts alike for over a century. It takes place at a shrine on Wela Volcano. The reigning Akala island kahuna is responsible for hosting the event. The kahuna presents all of the attendants' Fire Pokémon with the legendary Wela Crown, an item made from cooled lava that is said to boost a Fire Pokémon's powers. The festival celebrates the power of Wela Volcano and honors it for giving Akala Island its nutrient-rich volcanic soil.
It is said that the crown boosts the Fire Pokemon's power. There were many people in line, and a couple had there Pokemon wear it but then a wild Alolan Marowak showed up and stole the crown.
Kiawe was gonna have his Turtonator but Marowak defeated it in battle. After the battle, Kiawe wanted to face it again so he looked back to the battle and trained before encountering it again. On the next day, the rematch happened and Kiawe caught. It would appear the Marowak wanted to get stronger with crown but then it made a decision to join Kiawe's team.
Niku heard what happened and is glad that Kiawe has a new companion to help him get stronger.
The next day has arrived and Niku was walking around the volcano with Eevee beside him. During the walk, he battled a few trainers with just Eevee. He won every battle and is unaware of a certain Pokemon watching him. The Pokemon ran away to who knows where and the scene ends with Niku and Eevee leaving.
Later
It is night time and Niku and Eevee were sleeping in a different room at the Pokemon Center. Nurse Joy and Chansey were busy and the doors opened. They didn't look when a Pokemon slithered in and snuck in the hallway looking for a trainer. It was trying to catch the scent of the trainer and found his room. It slithered to the door and scratched it. Niku was sleeping but Eevee heard a noise at the door.
Eevee: Vee?
Eevee hopped off the bed and ran to door and opened the door to see a Pokemon on the other side.
Eevee: Eevee?
???: Sala!
The Pokemon outside the room is a Salandit. It would appear the Pokemon was searching for the trainer.
Salandit: Sala! Salandit!
Eevee: Vee?
Salandit: Sala! Sala! Salandit!
Eevee listened and nodded it head in agreement. Eevee ran over to Niku and woke him up.
Eevee: Eevee! Vee!
Niku: Uh-Huh? Eevee? What are you doing?
Eevee: Vee! Eevee!
Eevee turned it head to the direction of the door and Niku turned to see a Salandit.
Niku: What? A Salandit? What's going on?
The Salandit slithered in and got in front of Niku?
Salandit: Sala! Salandit!
Niku: What's wrong?
Salandit ran to the door.
Salandit: Salandit! Sala!
It went outside, like it wanted him to follow it.
Niku: I think it want's us to follow it. Come on Eevee!
Eevee: Eevee!
Niku grabbed his things and a few Pokeballs and followed the Salandit.
Later
A few minutes passed and Niku followed the Salandit to the Wela Volcano Park.
Niku: At the Wela Volcano Park?
Niku follwed the Salandit and it was near the entrance of the cave.
Niku: A cave?
Eevee: Eevee!
Eevee ran forward and ran into the cave.
Niku: Eevee wait!
Niku ran into the cave and follwed Eevee and stopped.
Niku: What the? Is that a Totem Pokemon and are they....?
Niku saw a large Salazzle and it looked injured. Also under the Salazzle was a baby Salandit. The Salandit from before came by and joined the family.
Niku: Oh, the Salazzle must be a mother and a Totem Pokemon. This must be why Salandit wanted me here to help it out.
Niki walked over to the Salazzle slowly. The Totem saw the trainer and hissed and protected it's young one. Niku puts his hands up to show it he means no harm.
Niku: Hey, it's ok. I'm here to help.
Salazzle: Sala?
Salandit: Salandit!
Salazzle looked at Salandit.
Salandit: Sala! Salandit!
Salazzle listened to Slandit to show he can be trusted. Salazzle looked over to Niku and nodded its head. Niku walked closer and Salazzle and Salandit slowly so he won't get them scared.
Niku: Don't worry Salazzle. I'm not gonna hurt you.
Niku kneeled and saw the injury on Salazzle.
Niku: Hmm... That bruise looks bad. Lucky for you. I have what I need to heal it.
Niku took out supplies and a Hyper Potion and helped Salazzle. The final thing he did is wrap it in a bandage.
Niku: There you go. How's that Salazzle?
Salazzle looked at the covered injury and moved it a bit and didn't feel anything. Salazzle looked at the trainer and smiled and licked his face.
Niku: I guess your better huh?
Salazzle: Salazzle.
The baby Salandit called to its mother and they nuzzled there heads. Niku smiled at there connection but then came to a thought.
Niku: (That's really nice. But what caused this injury to it? It's obvious Salazzle was just trying to protect its new born.)
While in thought a loud footstep was heard.
Niku: Huh?
The footsteps were getting louder and louder and near the entrance something is coming.
???: Mortar!
Niku looked back to see it is a Magmortar.
Niku: So you're the reason this happened!
Magmortar: Maag!
Niku looked over to the Salazzle family and can see the fear in their eyes. Niku glared back at the enemy.
Niku: You want hurt them?
Niku brought out a Pokeball and put it in front of it.
Niku: You'll have to go through me!
Magmortar: Magmortar!
Magmortar was about shoot flames but was stopped.
Niku: Wait!
Magmortar: Mag?
Magmortor put's the arms down and listened to Niku.
Niku: Let's take this outside. If we battle in here, the cave could collapse.
Magmortar looked around and nodded it's head and walked out. Niku was gonna follow but stopped to look at Eevee.
Niku: Eevee, you stay and protect them, ok?
Eevee: Eevee!
Niku: Thank you.
Niku ran out to face Magmortar.
Scene Change
Niku and Magmortar are now outside the cave and are ready for battle.
Niku: Alright, know this Magmortar, what you did is uncalled for. Hurting a mother and its child is low. You better not hold back.
Magmortar grinned and stomped its feet charged its mortar arms.
Niku: Very well then.
Niku brought out a Pokeball, and is reaady for combat.
Niku: Now, Quaquaval, stand by for battle!
What came out of the Pokeball is an blue humanoid avian Pokemon resembling a waterflow.
Quaquaval: Quaquaval!
The water type looked at its trainer with a proud face and then looked at his opponent. They both glared at each other like rivals.
Niku: Quaquaval, this Magmortar looks like a tough one. Be on your guard!
Quaquaval: Qua!
Magmortar gave a shout and raised an arm and starts with Flamethrower.
Niku: I thought so. Wave Crash, now!
Quaquaval shrieked and sent a huge wave of water towards the the Flamethrower and doused the flames. Two powerful moves has made a mist and this is an advantage for Quaquaval.
Niku: Aqua Jet, let's go!
Quaquaval surrounded itself in water and zoomed towards Magmortar but when it got close, Magmortar is missing.
Quaquaval: Qua?
Niku saw it is missing and realized it is above.
Niku: Above you!
Quaquaval looked up to see its opponent jumped up and is covering itself in electricity and Niku is surprised for this move.
Niku: Is that....?! Quaquaval, dodge it now!
Magmortar sent out an unexpected Thunderbolt towards Quaquaval but ut dodged in time. Quaquaval skidded back towards its trainer and is surprised as well.
Niku: This Magmortar knows Thunderbolt?! It must've learned the move incase it battled Water Types.
Niku: Quaquaval, be careful of that move.
Quaquaval: Quaval!
Magmortar covers itself in electricity and sends Thunderbolt.
Niku: Again? Use Aqua Jet to dodge and hit Magmortar now!
Quaquaval proceeded to use Aqua Jet and dodged the attack and hitting at the same time. Magmortar skidded back and suddenly used surrounded itself in flames and used Flame Charge. Niku saw it coming and gave out a command.
Niku: Use Aqua Step to attack and dodge!
Quaquaval made a dance move to dodge and then gave quick kicks to Magmortar with water covering its feet. Magmortar got mad and decided to use Flame Charge again. Since the move increases its speed it was faster but so did Aqua Step.
Niku: Aqua Jet, again!
Quaquaval proceeded to use Aqua Jet and the two moves collided and are trying to push back. The two moves are equal in power and they both exploded and the two of them skidded back and glared. Magmortar stomped on the ground like it wants to finish this battle already.
Niku: It want's to end this, so we will. Charge towards Magmortar, now!
Quaquaval proceeded to run towards Magmortar. Magmortar saw it coming and used Flamethrower heading its way.
Niku: Jump over it!
Quaquaval successfully jumped over the flames as it stared down at its opponent.
Magmortar: Mag?
Niku: Now Wave Crash!
Quaquaval: Quaval!
Quaquaval surrounded itself im water and crashed on Magmortar with strong water and Magmortar was drenched in water.
Niku: Now, Aqua Jet!
Quaquaval proceeded to use Aqua Jet and gave a hard crash at Magmortar as it kneeled on one knee.
Magmortar: Mag!
Niku: Still won't give up! Time to finish you off! Quaquaval, lets do this!
Quaquaval: Quaquaval!
Niku brought his arm with the Z Ring on up front and inserted the new Z Crystal and made movements for the Z Move.
Niku: Use Hydro Vortex!
Quaquaval created a huge whirling current and swallowed Magmortar in the raging waters as it defeated. Niku saw the Pokemon down and headed over to Magmortar and gave it an Oran Berry. Magmortar ate the berry and woke up. It saw the trainer and ran away.
Niku: You better not cause trouble like that again! Quaquaval, well done.
Quaquaval: Qua!
Niku returned it and walked back inside the cave. The family and Eevee saw Niku coming back and no Magmortar around. They could tell everything is ok.
Niku: It's over now. Your safe now Salazzle, and your baby too.
Salazzle was happy and licked his face as a sign of thank you.
Niku: Sure thing. Well I better head back and get some sleep. Take care. Let's go Eevee.
Eevee: Eevee!
Niku and Eevee were about to leave but Salazzle isn't done yet.
Salazzle: Sala!
Niku: Huh, what up?
The Salandit from before slithered to Niku and opened its mouth to reveal a Z Crystal.
Niku: Is that for me?
Salazzle: Sala!
Niku took the crystal and smiled.
Niku: Thank you Salazzle and stay strong.
They left and head outside the cave. Up in the sky a certain Pokemon was watching the battle and made a happy face and floated away.
Niku and Eevee are back at the Pokemon Center and Niku brought out the fire crystal and the water crystal and looks at them with Eevee.
Niku: Well Eevee, we now have Water and Fire. We only need the Grass crystal and then we can face Olivia.
Eevee: Eevee!
Niku was gonna head to bed but then saw something on his bed.
Niku: That stone is it...?
What is on the bed is a Fire Stone.
Niku: A Fire Stone? How did it get here?
Eevee looked out the window and saw Tapu Lele floating and Eevee was happy to see it fly away knowing it has been watching them.
