Currently, within the Pokemon School, everyone was sitting around chatting when Lillie screamed, surprised.
Lillie: S-Something serious is occurring!
Everyone then ran over to her.
Mallow: What's wrong, Lillie?
Kiawe: What's wrong?!
Everyone gathered around Lillie's desk and saw the Pokemon Egg glowing, surprising everyone.
Lillie: Snowball just...
Ash: "Snowball"?
Lillie: That's what I start calling the egg after taking care of it for a while.
Ash: It's glowing...
The egg began to glow even brighter as it started cracking. Upon fully hatching, the Pokemon inside was revealed to be an Alolan Vulpix.
Snowball: Vulpix...
Everyone: Whoa!
Sophocles: It's been born!
Lillie: Snowball... It's great to finally meet you...
Snowball looked at Lillie happily, but as Lillie attempted to pet it, she hesitated.
Lillie: I...
Mallow: Lillie, could it be that you...
Lana: Can't touch it?
Ash: What?
Mallow: You touched it while it was still an egg and still...
Lillie: It's not that I'm afraid... However...
Suddenly, Principle Oak and Kukui ran into the room along with Niku holding the egg from Kanto.
Principle Oak: Everyone! Come look! This moment is gonna be a magiCleffy!
Ash: What?!
Niku: It sure will! Just watch.
Everyone looked and saw that the other egg was glowing as well and hatched into a normal Vulpix with a different color.
Vulpix: Vulpix!
Ash: It's a Vulpix!
Pikachu: Pika!
Niku: Two Vulpix of different regions hatched on the same day.
Kukui: I suspected that both would be born soon, but to think both were born the same day.
Principal Oak: This makes me very happEievui!
Sophocles: I've never seen a Pokemon Egg hatch before! And now I even got to see two!
Lana: Yeah, this is really moving.
Kiawe: The birth of new life is an incredible thing!
Ash looked at the normal Vulpix, and Niku looked at the Alolan Vulpix.
Ash: This one is the Vulpix I'm already familiar with even though it has a different color.
Niku: But the Alolan version must be a different type.
Rotom Dex: I'll take care of that! Vulpix. Alolan Form. Fox Pokemon. Ice Type. After long years in the ever-snowcapped mountains of Alola, this Vulpix has gained power over ice. It exhales air colder than -58 degrees Fahrenheit. Elderly people in Alola call this Pokemon by an older name - Keokeo.
Vulpix. Fox Pokemon. Fire Type. As each tail grows, its fur becomes more lustrous. When held, it feels slightly warm. In its belly burns a fire, which Vulpix spits out in the form of fireballs. When young, this Pokemon has but one white tail. As the Pokemon matures, this single tail splits into six.
Sophocles: Whoa... So they're different types, too? Fire and Ice?
Kiawe: A different color Kanto Vulpix is really an unusual sight.
Rotom Dex: I will gather data on both.
Niku was in the center of both Vulpix's. He petted the Kanto Vulpix and suddenly jumped into his chest to carry.
Niku: Hehe... You're sure a friendly one.
Vulpix: Vulll...
While petting and holding the Vulpix, Snowball called to him.
Snowball: Vul!
Niku heard Snowball like she wanted attention, too.
Niku: So you're Snowball, right? A nice name Lillie gave you.
Snowball gleamed and jumped into Niku as well. Everyone was surprised seeing both Vulpixs interacting with one person.
Lillie: Looks like Snowball likes you, Niku.
Niku: Perhaps I dont know why, but this is not bad. Lillie, I'm proud of you for raising the egg.
Lillie blushed, and Snowball jumped back on the desk, and Vulpix stayed with Niku.
Ash then heads over to Vulpix to pet her, and she enjoyed it, but when he went over to Snowball, she only managed to freeze him with Powder Snow.
Niku:...-_-... Looks like Snowball doesn't trust you yet.
Kukui: Ooh... Powder Snow, huh?
Niku: Vulpix, if you please?
The normal Vulpix then set him on fire with Ember, thawing him out, but burning him.
Niku: Ash, you can't expect every newborn to accept you like that.
Ash: Aww, that's a shame.
Mallow: I guess it got startled when you suddenly tried touching it...?
Ash: Oh, is that what happened?
Kukui: They seem to have different personalities despite both being Vulpix.
The normal Vulpix jumped down from Nikus arms and started playing with the other Pokemon before jumping up and dragging Snowball down to play as well, but it looked confused until Niku knelt down to it.
Niku: They wanna be your friends Snowball, you can trust them.
Principal Oak: Friendship is a beautiful thing. So about their future...
Mallow: Oh, that's right! We're done observing the eggs, so...
Kiawe: What's going to happen with these Vulpix?
Principal Oak: What do you say? Why don't we try to keep raising these little ones?
Ash: Really?
Principal Oak then looked over at Niku.
Principal Oak: Niku, why dont you raise the Kanto Vulpix?
Niku: Me?
Kukui: You told the principal, and the egg reacted to you when you first saw it. She seems to take a huge liking to you.
Niku looked over at Vulpix, and she ran to Niku's leg. So he kneeled down to her.
Niku: What do you say, Vulpix? wanna stay with me.
Vulpix: Vul! Vul!
Niku: Very well then, welcome to the family Vulpix.
Principal Oak: Great, now that's settled. And I'd like to ask you guys to raise that little one.
Mallow: Alright! That means we'll get to stay together with it!
Sophocles: Does that mean one of us will get to keep it?
Lana: Of course.
Niku: It's pretty obvious. She's earned it.
Kiawe: Right.
Mallow: Yup. It has to be Lillie.
Lillie looked at all of them, surprised.
Lillie: Huh?
Ash: Yeah!
Niku: You took care of the egg from the beginning, Snowball looks like she wants you to take care of her.
Eevee/Vulpix: Vee/Vulp
Lillie: But... Will it really be alright if I do it? Do consider... that I can not even touch it.
Snowball walked up to Lillie, looking at her happily.
Niku: Sometimes the Pokemon chooses who wants to take care of it, and Snowball chose you.
Lana: Yeah.
Sophocles: Go for it!
Kiawe: It'll work out fine.
Ash: You've been chosen a name for it already.
Lillie: T-That was just what I decided to call it on a whim.
Mallow: It's a good name, though! Nice job, Lillie!
Everyone: Yeah!
Lillie: Is it really alright for it to stay in my care, then?
Lillie then looked at Snowball.
Lillie: Will you become my partner? Will you ,Snowball?
Sowball: Vulpix!
Niku then took out a Pokeball and tossed it to Lillie.
Niku: You know what must be done.
Lillie: Yes!
Lillie nervously got ready to throw the Pokeball.
Lillie: H-Here I come, Pokeball!
Lillie attempted to throw the Pokeball but nearly hit Niku, who just caught it with no reaction.
Niku:...-_-... Easy Lillie, there's no rush.
Lillie: I-I'm terribly sorry!
Snowball looked at the Pokeball in Niku's hand before looking back at Lillie. Snowball then looked at Niku, who nodded. Snowball touched the Pokeball, willingly be captured.
Mallow: It went in!
Kiawe: It chose Lillie as its partner on its own, huh.
Lillie walked up to Niku as he handed Snowball's Pokeball.
Niku: Congratulations, Lillie.
Ash: You got Vulpix!
Mallow: Now, try sending it out, Lillie!
Lillie: Yes! Snowball!
Lillie tossed her Pokeball, calling out Snowball.
Snowball: Vulpix!
Lillie: Snowball...
Kukui: Now you've joined the ranks of us Pokemon Trainers too, Lillie!
Lillie: "Pokemon Trainer"...
Lillie knelt down and attempted to hug Snowball, but ultimately, he was unable to do so.
Sophocles: Almost, but not quite.
Lana: You were sol close...
Lillie just looked down saddened.
Lillie: Am I... truly capable of... becoming a Pokemon Trainer, given my circumstances...? How can I associate with Pokemon.... the way you all do...?
Niku:...
Niku knelt down to Lillie, putting an hand on her shoulder for comfort. He made a come here motion to Snowball, and she ran to Niku, knowing she could trust him.
Niku: Lillie, you said you still like Pokemon, right?
Lillie: Huh? Yeah, I did.
Niku: Well, that's good. But listen, the longer you hold onto that fear, the more there will be no chance for any Pokemon to trust you or trust them.
Lillie:....
Niku: Look, don't feel bad. A friend of mine used to say this in my younger years... " There's many different kinds of relationships between humans and Pokemon."
Eevee and Vulpix then walked up to Niku and smiled at him.
Niku: " How you want to interact with Pokemon and what kind of relationship you wish to have is entirely up to you." So don't let your fear stop you forever. Be strong. Conquer your fear and you will accomplish so much.
Lillie looked at Niku surprised, as Kukui just looked at him and chuckled.
Kukui: (Must've been someone he knows very well.)
Lillie: "Entirely up to me..."
Ash: I've made up my mind! I'll become a Pokemon Master!
Sophocles: Nobody asked you, Ash.
Kiawe: So what? It was so like him to say that.
Niku looked at Ash when he said Pokemon Master.
Niku: ( A Pokemon Master? Nice goal, but it won't be easy to accomplish.)
Timeskip
After the end of the day, everyone was going home when Niku looked back to see Mallow and Lillie walking out together.
Mallow: Lillie, your ride is here.
Lillie: Yes.
Lillie walked up to her driver and told him that she'd be walking home.
Niku: Gonna walk home, huh?
Lillie: You see... I was thinking that I would... walk back home with this little one today.
Mallow: With Snowball?
Lillie: We spent time together while it was an egg, but I do not yet know this little one very well. I would also like it to learn about me. I want to make time for that.
Mallow: Yeah. I'm sure Snowball would appreciate that,
Lillie: Yes. I hope you have a nice day.
Mallow: Yeah. Good luck.
Niku nodded his head and waved bye, but he just stood there. Mallow noticed his face thinking the same thing.
Mallow: You thinking what I'm thinking.
Niku: Yes. Let's follow her, just in case.
Timeskip
After following Lillie and Snowball, the two of them saw they were getting along, as well as Lillie telling it she loved it.
Niku: Those two seem to be getting along well.
Mallow: Oh, thank goodness.
Niku: It makes sense to be concerned for her. Now the egg is hatched, and she has a responsibility to look after it.
Mallow: Yeah. Lillie loves Pokemon so much. We need her to be comfortable with them as well. Right, Bounsweet?
Bounsweet: Bounsweet!
Niku smiled at their connection and scratched behind Eevee's and Vulpix's ears. But Mallow quickly noticed Lillie was gone.
Mallow: Oh, where did Lillie and Snowball go?
Niku: Don't worry, I sent someone to follow her from afar.
Timeskip
Elsewhere with Lillie, she and Snowball began walking down an alleyway on their way home when they ran into Team Rocket, trying to steal Snowball. The two of them attempted to run away but were unfortunately cornered. Just as they went to attack, a familiar Grass type jumped in between them, protecting Lillie and Snowball.
Lillie: Meowscarada?!
Meowscarada: Meow!
James: Never mind the Vulpix. let's capture this new Pokemon. Mareanie, Sludge Bomb!
Mareanie fired off the Sludge Bomb, but Meowscarda just canceled it out with Dark Pulse. Firing off another volley, Meowscarada again canceled it out, but one managed to hit Snowball, sending her flying off a ledge.
Lillie: Snowball!
Lillie, without hesitation, jumped off the ledge to catch Snowball.
Meowscarada: Scarada!
As Lillie and Snowball nearly hit the ground, Niku, who had arrived with Mallow, barely caught them, breaking their fall by catching them in her arms.
Niku: Good catch, Meowscarada.
Mallow: Lillie!
Lillie: Mallow? Niku?
Mallow: We made it in time!
Niku: Are you both ok?
Lillie: Y-yea... Snowball, you didn't get hurt, did you?
Snowball: Vulpix!
James: Ah, it's that brat from before!
Niku heard the voice recognizing him.
Niku: You again, huh? You just won't give up?
Eevee: Eevee!
Vulpix: Vulpix!
Eevee and Vulpix went in front to fight, along with Snowball, surprising everyone but not Niku.
Lillie: Snowball, Powder Snow!
Jumping up, Snowball used Powder Snow, freezing Team Rocket.
Mallow: Not bad, Lillie, Snowball.
Niku: Nice job.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, a Beware grabbed them all the members of Team Rocket and ran off with them, once again dumbfounding everyone, except for Niku.
Niku: ...-_-... That will probably won't be the last time we'll see that happen.
Snowball then looked towards Lillie happily after "defeating" Team Rocket, jumping into her arms.
Lillie: Snowball! You did great!
Niku and Mallow both noticed Lillie holding Snowball.
Mallow: Oh! Lillie... That's awesome! You're touching a Pokemon!
Lillie: Huh?
Lillie then realized she was holding Snowball and hugged it.
Lillie: Snowball...
Niku: That's great to see.
Mallow: Yup.
Timeskip
Its the next day in school, and Lillie walked in, holding Snowball, greeting them.
Lillie: Alola!
The others all saw her and looked surprised.
Ash: Whoa! Lillie!
Sophocles: She has no problem holding it, so it seems clear as day.
Lana: It's looking good.
Ash: Yeah, that's great.
Kiawe: So you finally did it, Lillie.
Lillie: Thank you very much!
Lillie looked around for Niku, but he's not in school.
Lillie: Where's Niku? I want to thank him for helping me and Snowball.
Kukui: He's busy with some things, and his Vulpix is with him, too.
Lillie looked down a little sad, then she saw Snowball walked up to the others, getting along with them. But Togedemaru rolled onto Lillie's leg making her freeze, afraid.
Mallow: But you still can't touch other Pokemon, huh...?
Lillie: I've... got to be... strong. (Niku, thank you for helping me.)
