Jus In Bello

"Sorry." I apologized as Dean winced as I pressed the towel to his bleeding shoulder.

"Give me a kiss to make it better...?" He suggested as I knelt in front of him as he sat on the cot.

"We're like sitting ducks in here." Sam stated.

I sighed, leaning up to place my lips on Dean's. I placed my hand on the back of his neck, moving to straddle his lap again. "Yeah, I know." Dean replied between kisses. "Would it kill these cops to bring us a snack?!" He called out loud enough for the officers to hear.

"You're ridiculous." I smiled, pulling away.

"No, come back." Dean leaned forward and kissed me again.

"How many do you figure are out there?" Sam asked.

"I don't know." I replied as I pulled back only for Dean to tug me to him again.

"However many, they could be possessing anyone. Anyone could just walk in." Sam stated.

I pulled back this time, moving off of his lap. "It's sketchy."

"Right? It's kind of wild." Dean added. "It means, like, they're coming right for us. They've never done that before. It's like we got a contract on us."

"Well, you just killed the mood, Dean-O." I told him.

"If you would let me continue." Dean shot me a look. "You think it's because we're so awesome?" He smiled. "I think it's because we're so awesome."

I shook my head, smiling as I picked at the fraying fabric in the knee of his jeans. "You are such a dork."

Sheriff Dodd walked in then, unlocking the door.

"Well, howdy there, sheriff." Dean put on a southern accent as we stood.

"Uh, sheriff?" Sam asked as the door slid open.

"It's time to go." Dodd told us. He moved toward us.

"Uh, you know what?" Dean shifted so he was slightly in front of me. "We're just comfy right here, but thank you."

"You are learning manners." I teased.

Henriksen walked in. "What do you think you're doing?"

"I'm not just gonna sit here and wait to die. We're gonna run for it." Dodd stated.

"It's safer here." Henriksen argued.

"There's a SWAT facility in Boulder." Dodd said.

"We're not going anywhere."

"The hell we're not."

Henriksen pulled out a gun and shot the sheriff.

Dean shot forward, grabbing his arm and pulling the gun away as Sam grabbed his other arm. I tried to stay out of the way as they wrestled the possessed Henriksen toward the now holy water filled toilet and dunked his head in.

Sam began muttering a exorcism as Dean placed the gun in my hand.

Amici ran in, shotgun in hand.

"Stay back!" Dean shouted as I pointed the gun at him.

"Sam, hurry up, please." I said.

"It's too late." The demon possessing Henriksen said. "I already called them. They're already coming."

Sam finished the spell and Henriksen screamed. Black smoke curled toward the vent as his body fell to the floor.

"Is he--? Is he dead?" Nancy asked.

Henriksen coughed, sitting up.

"Henriksen, hey." Sam breathed, leaning against the cell. "Is that you in there?"

"Demonic possession isn't all that fun, huh?" I asked.

"I, uh--" Henriksen began, looking distracted. "I shot the sheriff."

Dean smiled. "But you didn't shoot the deputy."

I laughed a little as Sam glared at us.

"Five minutes ago I was fine and then--" Henriksen continued.

"Let me guess, some nasty black smoke jammed itself down your throat?" Dean asked.

"You were possessed." Sam said.

"Possessed...like possessed." Henriksen repeated.

"Yep, like there was a whole demon in you." I nodded. "Oh, wait, sorry, we can't say that. Fiend."

"That's what it feels like. Now you know." Sam added.

"I owe you the biggest I-told-you-so every." Dean stated.

I flipped the gun, catching it mid-air by the barrel and holding it out to Henriksen. "Be glad I taught him the few manners he does possess...Pun not intended."

Henriksen took the gun, standing. "Officer Amici, keys." He turned, key in hand and unchained us. "Alright, so how do we survive?"

Sam was off somewhere painting devils traps at doors as Dean sat atop a desk with a red marker in hand as he looked over the blueprints of the building as we were in the lobby. I pushed the sleeve of his t-shirt up more to get a better angle with the wound on his shoulder.

Henriksen and Amici walked in with shotguns and bullets.

"That's nice. It's not gonna do much good though." Dean stated.

Nancy handed me another piece of tape before placing a piece on the back of the gauze on Dean's gunshot wound.

"We got an arsenal here." Amici stated.

"You don't poke a bear with a BB gun. It's just gonna make him mad." Dean pointed out.

"What do you need?" Henriksen asked.

"Salt. Lots and lots of salt."

"Salt?" Amici repeated.

"Is there an echo in here?" Dean asked.

I smiled. "Be nice, baby."

"I am being nice."

"There's road salt in the storeroom." Nancy spoke up as she handed me another piece of tape.

"Perfect." Dean said. "We need salt at every window and every door."

Henriksen and Amici ran off.

"How you holding up, Nancy?" Dean asked.

She smiled. "Okay."

"Don't worry. Stuff like this is pretty nerve-wracking, but you'll settle into it soon." I told her.

Nancy shook her head, handing me another piece of tape to finish Dean's bandage. "When I was little, I would come home from church and talk about the devil. My parents would tell me to stop being so literal."

"I was told that a lot too...just not about the devil." I shrugged.

"I guess I showed them, huh?" Nancy asked.

"Yeah, you did." I smiled. "All done."

"That should hold." Nancy added.

Dean looked at her. "Thank you."

"Sure." She nodded, turning away and moving to another desk.

Dean turned to me. "Now, come here so I can thank you." He grabbed the front of my shirt, tugging me forward until our lips met. I melted into his touch, letting his lips move against mine.

"Hey, Dean?" I whispered, pulling back.

"Hmm?"

"What you said earlier about...about me being a...uh, Winchester and stuff...did you mean it?" I asked, picking at the collar of his shirt.

Dean smiled. "Maybe not legally yet, but you're mine now." He twisted the ring around my left finger. "You're my wife."

"Yet?"

"As soon as we get the hell out of here, I'm taking you down to the courthouse and we're making it official."

I smiled. "You know we don't have to."

"I know. I want to." Dean stood, chest brushing mine as Amici walked in with bags of salt. "Hey, where's my car?"

"Impound lot out back." Amici answered.

"Okay."

"Wait, you're not going out there?" Amici asked, though it sounded more like a statement.

"Trust me, you can't tell him what to do." I said. "I've tried. He's hard-headed and doesn't listen."

"Yeah, I gotta get something out of my trunk." Dean stated. He turned, moving toward the door.

"Hey, hey, hey, where do you think you're going?" I asked, following.

"You're staying here." Dean told me.

"Uh-huh. I know. It's not safe, blah, blah, blah. I wanted my goodbye kiss, asshole." I leaned up, kissing him.
