It was already late when Vegas called me again.
"Get ready...I'll be at the hotel entrance in 10 minutes."
"Ready for what?!"
"I'm taking you to the movies."
"To the movies?!"
It crossed my mind the first and only time we went to the movies I was spying on Vegas and Macau. It was so awkward.
This time is different.
Going to the movies at this time of night can only mean one thing: shameless sex.
Vegas has no shame, as everybody knows.
I bet that movie has a terrible review.
He certainly chose the last seats high up, close to the wall and away from the entrance door.
At least now that Khun Kinn went back to Thailand, I can go out dressed as a man.

I take the popcorn bag from his hand while Vegas takes my hand.

To my surprise, there were a decent amount of people in the movie theater.

I guess there were no bad movies showing tonight.
Even in the dark, I scan the room looking for that hidden spot...last row, close to the wall, far from the entrance door.
Lucky night! There's no one there. And those two rows in front are also empty.
I move my body in that direction, but I feel Vegas pulling me in the opposite side.
"Vegas, aren't our seats over there?!"
"Let's sit there in the middle...you can see the screen better.""
Seats in the middle?! where all people huddled together excited about to see the movie?!

"Did you like the movie, Pete?!"

He didn't take his eyes off the screen.

Vegas' fierce profile illuminated by the movie screen made me more excited than I already was though.

Vegas took me to a trendy diner close to the movie theater.

"Excuse me..." A girl approaches our table...."You're not from here, are you?!" She asks in English.
"No, we are on a business trip." Vegas responds politely.
"If you want to get to know the city better, my friend and I can gladly show you guys...can I get your phone number?!"
She touches Vegas' arm in front of me!
"No, you can't! Can't you see the ring on his finger?!" I respond with my broken English.
Furious.
I don't even mind some glances around us.
"So what?! Are you his wife?!" The girl speaks in a mocking tone.
"He is." Vegas says, staring at me with a cunning smile on his face. He knows I hate when he calls me 'wife'.
But in this case, I clearly accept the exception.
My heart flutters.
He calmly gets up, adjusts his suit and leaves money on the table. "You can split the change with the waiter" Vegas says coldly to her.
Vegas sarcasm is unbeatable.
I feel nervous. I can picture that woman cursing all sorts of insults to us.
Vegas doesn't even flinch at her frown.
His gaze is so overpowering, she doesn't have the guts to say a word back to him.
"Come on, babe." Vegas takes me by the hand.
We leave the diner and get into the car.
" 'So what?!' " I clench my hands. "What a bitch!"
"I'm sorry, Pete. I should have cut her off in the first sentence, but I thought you would be angry at my indiscretion."
"Vegas...don't you ever be polite to a woman in front of me...better...don't you ever be polite to a woman...not just in front of me. Woman or man, be your worst! I give you permission for that!"

"You're so cute when you're jealous." Vegas kisses my cheek.
"Yeah, right."
"Did I ruin our date?!"
"No! Date was perfect." His kind self melts my heart. I kiss his cheek. "That 'lady' ruined my mood, that's all."
"You never cared about women around me before."
"Because you're gay! But now..."
"...Now?!...what about now...?!"
I should not say anything about the other day...Vegas did nothing wrong.
He proves his love for me all the time.
Why am I so insecure about myself though?!
"Nothing...it's just..."

"I know it was my idea, but...we living apart like this...it's driving me crazy of jealousy"

"Pete...you hardly show your real "bad" emotions. You had to be hypnotised to be mean with me! You were really successful by that time though. Anyways, unlike me, you don't do it to manipulate others, but..." Vegas caresses my face tenderly. "Seeing you losing your temper because of me feels really good."
"...It's hard for me to show my love for you the way you do, but... I could kill anyone...even my best friend for you, Vegas."
"I know." His voice is tender. "Porsche knows it too...haha."

Vegas kiss is the best in the world.
Even not kissing my lips, I could feel his soft lips on my cheek. It was fast because he was driving.
"You're just like your mother, Pete."
"My mother?! What do you mean, Vegas?!"
"Based on what grandma Jui said, you're very alike...I just wonder..."

Suddenly his face gets gloomy.
"How much happiness my father would feel if he knew his best friend was secretly jealous of him."

Vegas turns to me.
"I'm sorry, Pete...I have to meet this client."
"A woman?! I heard her voice. It's almost midnight. Were we not talking about jealousy and me killing someone because of it?!"

Vegas finally kisses my lips. A peck, actually. It felt ackward though.
"I'm sorry, this is really important. I'll drop you off first."
"Can't I go with you?!"
"It will be boring."

"We arrived at the hotel."

Before I get out of the car...

As he drives away, I wonder if our parents are the reason he doesn't want to make love with me now.
