Blinking my eyes to adjust with the sunlight that were seeking through the curtains . I groaned in annoyance finding a leg over my chest which belonged to none other than my little sister Ayesha .
Pushing her leg aside . I sat up leaning against the headboard closing my eyes which were still sleepy, when a loud sound of something or someone falling made me alert as I scanned my room sitting straight only to find nidha on the floor with her face kissing the tiles . Her pillow which was on the couch followed its owner's path and fell on her head .
"Ugh" she groaned sitting up and rubbing her face to ease the pain from the fall . I just shook my head at her clumsiness.
Seriously her being alive till now itself is a miracle considering the things she does . But then soon confusion clouded my mind Wondering what was she doing in my room.
"When did you come here ?" I asked her still confused by her presence to which she gave me a done look.
"what do you mean by when I came here , we came here together last night did you forget"
She said making me scan the room once again properly and making me realise that I was not in my house but in my granny's house with all my cousin's for eshal's engagement.
Yes... You heard that right eshal's engagement . even I was shocked hearing the news as I never thought she would ever agree to get married considering how much she hates marriages....I mean her getting married, other people's marriages she is a big fan as she can buy many clothes and cosmetics .
Not only me but everyone was shocked hearing her say yes for marriage because when she asked for 3 days time we all thought she would definitely say no but in order not to get scoldings from aunt she took time to act like she was thinking about the proposal .
As if reading my thoughts nidha came near me while sitting at the edge of the bed .
"Can't believe that eshal didi is getting engaged. I thought she would become a nun and die as a virgin"
Though I agreed with her statement I smacked her head for not having a filter to which she pouted looking at me with her big doe eyes while rubbing her head .
"Don't you dare use these words in front of eshal's in-laws"
I said glaring at her sternly.
"Hawww do you think I would do that don't you know about my good girl facade "
She said winking at me while giggling to which I just shook my head at her antics while giving a small smile .
"Aish this girl seriously makes it difficult to scold her . I wonder how her future husband will handle her " I thought feeling bad for the poor soul who has to deal with her dramatic and clumsy ass .
Our talk was cut off by the door being opened by my aunt samreen . (Well brown parents don't knock they just barge in )
"It's good that you two woke up , go get refreshed and come down to eat your breakfast and do wake up Ayesha . we have a lot of chores to be done before going to the hall,so move your asses fast"
She said and left the room as fast as she came . Seriously both mom and daughter duo are the same I thought as I watched nidha moving to the washroom.
sighing to myself I started waking the sleeping log who was still sprawled over the bed deep in sleep with no care of the world even after so many noises .
"Ayesha wake up "
"Didi just 5 more minutes"
Ayesha murmured snuggling more inside the duvet.
"Ayesha wake up or I will pour the whole jug on you "
I said in a warning tone which she ignored royally making me scoff .
And just as I had warned I picked the jug and emptied the entire water on her face which made a jolt up in fear and look at me in anger.
"What the hell didi , aese bhi koi utatha Hai"
(Who wakes someone like this ?)
"Ji Mai uthati Hu , now go and brush your teeth and come down for breakfast wese bhi Aaj didi ka engagement kamse Kam Aaj toh jaldi uth jati "
(I do )
(Anyways today is elder sister's engagement at least today you could have woken up on time)
I said in a sassy tone to which she glared at me but soon a huge smile replaced her face hearing about eshal's engagement.
"Omg yes ! How could I could I forget Didi's engagement"
Before I could I register anything she jumped out of the bed and ran towards washroom from where nidha had just got out finishing her business.
Ayesha turned giving me a cheeky smile before locking the washroom door.
"All the best using the guest room's washroom"
I just sat there shocked. Because the guest room was in 3rd floor and we were sleeping in 1st floor.
"Ayesha Ki bacchi tujhe chodugi Nahi"
(Ayesha I won't leave you)
I got up while muttering some curses under my breath and went to the guest room's washroom as I knew Ayesha wouldn't come any sooner.

It was 12 pm when all of us finished breakfast when mom told us to pick eshal from her clinic and go to the parlour to get ready as the engagement was at 4:30 pm .
"Seriously who goes to work during their engagement I would nicely quit work for at least 1 week and get pampered by our family"
Ayesha said as the three of us made our way to car. To which I nodded and added .
"Seriously pata Nahi eshal itna kama ke Kya karegi Ki woh Apne engagement ke din bhi chuti nahi le rahi "
(Seriously I don't understand what eshal will do earning so much that she doesn't even take leave on her engagement )
"Mujhe kilayegi aur Kya"
(Feed me then what)
Nidha said as a matter of fact to which me and Ayesha gave her a side eye. Well she wasn't lying half of eshal's money was spent on not only her but all three of us .
After more chit-chatting the three of finally reached eshal's clinic and soon went to parlour to get ready.

It was nearly 3 pm and all of us were almost ready except for Ayesha and nidha who were eating now and then making it hard for the makeup artist to complete her job . So I Snatched their snacks while glaring at them .
"Ma'am you can complete their makeup now, I will also see how they disturb you now "
The artist thanked me gratefully while completing their makeup .
Finally At 3:30 all of us were ready . Eshal was wearing a beautiful yet simple cream anarkali with her hair tied in a bun leaving two strands of her hair in front with a dupatta pinned to her hair . For jewellery she was wearing a beautiful diamond set of earrings and necklace and to give her a final touch up I tied her hands with baby breath bracelets .
Nidha was wearing an elegant black gown with her hair down with some minimal jewellery on hands and a beautiful pair of diamond studs in her ears . Me and Ayesha were wearing light blue gown , mine with long jewel border sleeves and hers with long umbrella sleeves.
Same as nidha we too went for minimal jewellery, Ayesha had her hair down with two strands of her hair in half pony while I just curled my hair and let it down.
Giving each other compliments and teasing we soon reached the venue at 4:10 pm just to see our mother's glaring at for being late .[brown parents prefer to be at the venue 1 hour early so according to them the girls were late]
Soon my mom and samreen aunty took eshal to the stage and made her sit in on a cream couch . And told the three of us to do a last minute check in of all the preparations .

Just like mom had told I was instructing the workers to complete their work fast while pacing here and their in urgency that I didn't notice someone coming in front of me and crashed to that someone . I closed my eyes tightly waiting for an impact but instead a strong pair of arms secured me tightly to make sure I don't fall . I screamed internally thinking I was having my Bollywood moment but soon it died when I saw my saviour, When I saw him .
Him holding me like he would never let me down but alas I knew better than that . Getting out of the daze and the eye contact we both held I pushed him with full force and asked in my coldest tone .
"What are you doing here?"
"Ameera"
He whispered as he slowly bought his hand to touch my face as if not believing it was really me .
I yanked his hand forcefully and asked once again.
"What are you doing here Ajwad?"
To which he sighed and replied looking at me with soft eyes .
"I am here for my brother's engagement"
"BROTHER!! Malik Jiju is your brother"
I asked in shocked by the revelation and didn't even bother hiding it . To which he simply nodded .
"Princess I know that we didn't end in best terms or can I say that you didn't wait for me but let's not spoil other's fun because of our past"
I scoffed at his audacity. Didn't wait for him! only I know how much I waited for him .
how much I waited for him to come back to me , how much I waited for him to come and hug me , how much I waited for him to come and tell me everything is alright and he won't leave me alone again, how much I waited for him to kiss me ,how much I waited for his love....but only got my heartbroken after all that wait. Well he doesn't need to know that.
"Waiting for you is like waiting for the rain during drought: useless and disappointing."
A look of hurt passed through his face well it was nothing compared to the hurt I went through those 6 months .
"Princess don't be like that I still miss you "
He said as a lone tear dropped from his eyes making me want to wipe it with my thumb but restrained myself and gave him a hard look.
"Don't call me princess, you have lost the right to call me that and you missing me is your problem "
I moved from there not wanting to continue this painful and useless conversation. But he grabbed my wrist turning me around.
"Can't you give me one more chance. I still love you the same or even more, these 2 years were torture to live without you.....you are irreplaceable "
If it was 2 years back I would have happily thrown my arms around him but it wasn't.
"There really are a lot of fucking fish in the sea. Cheer up. Everyone can be replaced."
I said with a sarcastic smile and yanked my hand from his grasp and left from their inorder not to break down in front of him . I can't be weak in front of him not after all that I had to go through.
