"You're just a big ugly brut, aren't you?" Malfoy says, and a wave of coolness rushes over me, as I am brought back to one of my old 'homes'
Flashback
"You're just a whore aren't you?" Shawn says while smiling wickedly then punching me in the stomach again,
"No, I'm not," my voice comes out as cough as another punch lands on my ribs,
"Aren't you?" he yells landing a punch on the side of my cheek while lifting my head by pulling my hair,
"No!" I yell back, kicking him in the gut running to the room slamming the door shut, and holding all my body weight against the door keeping him out as I reach for my phone.
Hearing a thump beside me brings me back to reality, I look around and see Harry on the floor and Malfoy yelling,
"IT'S KILLED ME!" While rolling on the floor, everyone is looking at Malfoy as I kneel down beside Harry,
"Harry?" I question, and shake him gently, "Harry get up!" I yell at him and it catches Nathan's attention as he calls Ron and Hermione over, before shoving me away from Harry,
"What the fuck did you do?" he yells,
"Nothing you fuckwit, he just passed out," I yell back, "Now move out of the way," I say shoving him away like he did to me,
"You have no right to tell me to move," Nathan glares at me,
"Oh yeah, why not," I respond returning his glare,
"Because I'm more his brother than you are his sister. At least I was there!" he yells, and Hermione lets out a gasp, covering her mouth. I feel my body fill with numbness and a mask of stone sets over my face before I start walking toward the girls who are looking at Nathan with anger.
"Em, are you ok?" Lavender questions,
"Why wouldn't I be?" I answer,
"Nathan just said..." Lavender questions but Valentina puts a hand in front of her and shakes her head, we walk back to Gryffindor without saying anything, and all I imagine is breaking Malfoy's and Nathan's noses.
"We are about to head down for dinner," Parvati says opening the curtains around my bed, I look up from my book,
"I told you, Parvati I'm not hungry," I say giving her a small fake smile as she sighs and I hear them leave. Waiting five minutes I walk out to the Gryffindor common room seeing no one there. I walk out of the portrait, slowly making my way to the Hospital Wing to see Harry. When I hear footsteps approach, shift into a wolf and run behind a pillar making myself as small as possible,
"Nathan I can't believe you said that to her!" Hermione yells,
"She's right mate that was bloody harsh," Ron agrees,
"She obviously did something to Harry. She was the only one near him," Nathan argues, I guess the boy from Gringots is gone, I think,
"We are in The Wizarding World for Merlin's sake! Anyone could have cast a spell!" She yells,
"Well I don't care I still think she did something, first Pettigrew escapes, second Harry's sister shows up, then the Dementors on the train, then the tea leaves, and Hagrid's lesson," Nathan continues to argue,
"NATHAN SHUT UP!" Hermione screams, "You have zero clue what she could have been through in the foster system it isn't all flowers and rainbows," none of the boys respond and their footsteps disappear towards the Hall. Shifting back I decide to take a detour and go to the Hospital Wing at midnight like Harry's note, walking around the castle aimlessly for a few hours I make my way towards the Hospital Wing. Pushing the door gently I realise it's locked,
"Fuck," I whisper before going to the nearest window careful not to touch the glass in case of another flashback, I push the window up and crawl out onto the roof, carefully turning to face the window I push it down closing it. Starting to walk along the edge I look into the windows I pass making sure I can see Harry lying in his bed,
"Alohomora" I whisper pointing one finger to the window, hearing a faint click I push the window up carefully, crawl through, and shut it behind me. Turning around I see Harry staring at me with wide eyes,
"Fuck," I whisper yell, "I thought you were asleep," letting out a sigh and thanking Merlin that it wasn't an adult or Malfoy who caught me,
"What are you doing here?" he whispers, as I walk towards his bed and he shuffles over so I can lie beside him,
"You said you wanted to talk at midnight," I say shrugging,
"I meant midnight in the common room before I passed out and was put in the hospital wing! You could have gotten hurt," Harry whisper yells,
"But I didn't," I smirk and he rolls his eyes,
"But I am really glad you are here," he sends me a genuine smile in a rush of warmth flows through me but it doesn't feel like my emotion, as I return the smile, his face turns to a sad one, "Why have you been avoiding me?" he asks sadly,
"Harry, I only had two people who I cared about before August I didn't have any friends or a family," I sigh, and Harry wraps his arm around my shoulder I almost flinch but manage to stop myself.
"I'm so sorry," Harry says,
"It doesn't matter it isn't your fault. Now why did you pass out," I question,
"I just felt this rush of coolness it kind of felt like dread or mental pain I guess," he shrugs, "It has never happened like that but when I was growing up after I was 7 I would get these phantom pains, like it would feel like I was being stabbed or, punched I guess. I know it sounds weird," he explains, but I am frozen, He was feeling a small equivalent of what I was feeling, right now inside I am having the equivalent of a mental breakdown.
"You just got these random ghost pains?" I ask while somehow managing to look normal,
"Yeah but it's no big deal," Harry shrugs before looking at me with the human version of puppy eyes, "What was your childhood like?" Fuck my life,
"Oh you know just a normal childhood," I respond noncommittally, while thinking bitterly to myself, What fucking childhood you didn't have one,
"Have you played quidditch before?"
"Nope don't know a thing about it,"
"WHAT?!" Harry screams and I quickly jump up and dive under the bed, right as James, Sirius, Remus, and a red haired woman rush in,
"What is it, Harry?" They ask, and I can just imagine Harry looking beside him and seeing I'm not there,
"Oh I just had a dream, and I was getting to know Artemis and she said she didn't know a single thing about quidditch," Harry lies and not very well in my opinion,
"Alright, I guess, we are going to finish talking to Madam Pomfry," The woman says,
"Alright mum, goodnight," Harry says,
"Goodnight Harry, if your twin does start talking to you, tell her I want to get to know her again," Lily says sadly,
" I will," Harry promises, everyone else files through goodnights and I lay under the bed realising this is the kind of family I missed out on. After hearing everyone go back into Madam Pomfry's office I slide out from under the bed and jump back to where I was sitting,
"Why did you disappear?" He questions,
"Because I don't know how I am going to talk to them," I respond truthfully,
"Oh, but back to quidditch you should try out there is one free chaser spot and by looking at how easily you pushed off Dad and Uncle Padfoot, you would have a good chance," he says excitedly as the puppy look comes back into his eyes, "Then you and I could play together for Gryffindor,"
"Maybe Harry," I respond noncommittally,
"Pleaseee," Harry whines, "Come on it will be so fun!" he whisper yells,
"Fine,"
"Yes! If you go up to my dorm there is one bookshelf in there and a book called 'A Guide to Quidditch' and if you read that you should be set for next Thursday," he says almost vibrating in excitement,
"OK Harry, next Thursday, and I will go grab the book now and read it before next Thursday AND have a physical practice. Goodnight Haz," I say standing up, not aware of the adults listening in on the conversation,
"Goodnight Fawn," Harry whispers as I leave the hospital wing the way I came.
