Laura's POV

I ran as fast as my legs could carry me; I stopped trying to control my labour breaths. I glanced around, seeing no but only trees. I felt eyes were on me, but I couldn't see a soul.

Thump!

I flinched, turning to see a dark figure standing arm's length away from me. I can't see his face, just darkness. I growled in warning as I threw a fist, but he tilted his head, dodging my attack, sparking more fear in me and anger. I threw another punch, but this time, he blocked it and then threw a fist at me. I ducked down and kneed his stomach, earning a grunt of pain.

The next thing I knew, I stepped on his feet as I twisted myself to be behind him. I kicked his back, making him fall to the ground. A smirk appeared on my lips, feeling excitement going through me, but that was short-lived as a pair of arms wrapped around me. I squealed, throwing my head back and landing on my attacker's head. He groaned out in pain, releasing me. I turned, punched his neck, and kicked his stomach. My fists were up to my chest, keeping my guard up.

Suddenly, Noah appeared behind this dark figure and snapped his finger. The dark figure faded away, "not bad, your Majesty," he said, clapping his hands together.

"She could do better," I snapped my head at John, giving him a deadly glare. "Don't give that look," he said playfully, glaring back at me.

"I think we should cool down with physical training," Noah said, glancing over to John. I noticed how their face changed as if they were talking in silence and only using their looks to talk.

"Is there something I'm missing?" I asked, furrowing my brows, glancing between Noah and John.

Noah shook his head 'no', "nothing..." He murmured. "Theo and I were—"

"Theo?" I asked in confusion.

I snapped my head to John, who looked pissed off. "Not now, Noah," he growled before vanishing.

Was John, Theo?

I was about to ask, but Reef and Reed appeared. Time up for training. This means returning to the palace, calling home to check on Pete and see how he is recovering and becoming Alpha. "Well... That's my time to go," Noah softly said. "Oh, and congratulations," he smirked before turning his heels.

"Congratulations?" I asked.

He glanced down at my tummy, then up into my stares, "You'll find out." He chuckled and walked away.

"Your Royal Highness!" Reef cheerfully called out. "We need to rush your royal butt inside!"

I chuckled, walking towards them, "there's no need to rush." I joked.

"Sorry, but we must rush, or our heads will be on a silver platter." He grumbled, gently grabbing my arm, followed by Reed. They were picking up their pace, gently pulling me. This wasn't very clear.

"What's going on?" I asked.

"Don't worry, Laura," Reed said calmly. "Just warning, once inside, a mod of maids attack you and Elder Sophia." Once we were inside, to my surprise, Reed was right. A dozen of maids, some holding makeup kits and some holding dresses. Two rushed towards me, "Luna, we must get you to your room." They said, taking my hands and pulling me away from Reef and Reed.

I glanced over my shoulder, giving the twins a helpful gaze. They just waved their hand while laughing at me. I felt that I'd got into something much more than expected. "Luna!" I turned my head, and there Elder Sophia paced towards me with flies in my hands. "We need to get you ready. Since Elizabeth will not be around to help you with your role as Luna Queen, I will."

"What's going on? What do you mean by Elizabeth not being around?"

"Not now, dear. You have a ten-minute shower, dress up, and makeup within fifteen minutes." We stormed into my room. "Today, King Nathan and you meet in the hall with all the Alphas. After lunch, you'll head to a hotel to change for dinner with one of Nathan's clients... They are human."

She handed me the file she was holding. "What's this?"

"As Luna Queen, you must aid your people in need. You must have heard about the attacks on our weakest packs... Read these files and calculate the money needed for rebuilding and aiding them. Now go take a shower."

Was this the life of a Luna Queen? Wow, I will never complain about school life with this unless it turns out right. I took that ten-minute shower and dragged onto a stool chair. They attacked me with makeup and then handed me a light blue dress before leaving me alone to dress up.

The dress had a V neckline, a bodice that hugged me by my waist and a puffed skirt that reached my knees. I slipped on pumps with straps.

Knock!

Knock!

Knock!

I snapped to see Nate walking in wearing a black suit and his hair gelled back. Let me just say he looked handsome. He grinned towards me, "You look beautiful." He said, walking towards me and kissing my lips electrically. "Sorry about this busy day. I didn't plan to drag you into this, but the Elders told me I must get Luna Queen's advice." He wrapped his arms around me.

I wrapped my arms around his neck, "it's okay, but it would be good if you told me before getting attacked by dresses and makeup." I smiled, tilting my head.

He chuckled, "I'll make it up to you." He whispered, leaning forward and brushing his lips against mine.

"Hey, Laura!" Kelly stormed in, earning a growl from Nate.

"Kelly, haven't I told you that you should knock?" He asked, glaring daggers at her.

She shrugged her shoulder, "I need to talk to Laura." She said.

"But we need to go in a minute."

"Then..." She rolled her eyes. "Laura, once you're back, come to my room. We need to talk about something. Bye!" She turned on her heels and walked out.

Today, I realise people are acting weird.

First, this thing about Noah congratulating me for something and learning that the Vampire King's name is Theo. The shocking part was Nate's mother was not here to boss me around with these, doing my makeup and whatnot: Kelly and her weird, short-to-point conversion.

"I want to give you something," I snapped out of my train of thought and stared into his eyes.

He unwrapped his arms and slipped his hand into his pocket, pulling out a small box. He opened it and gasped.

"I bought this ring for you," he gently took my left hand and slipped a gold band with a white diamond on my ring finger.

"Thank you, Nate, it is beautiful," I gasped.

"Come, let's go..."

*~*~*

Jay sat quietly in a small café, staring out the window. He was deep in thought and taking a sip of coffee. "I never thought I would get a call from you," he glanced up and stared at the woman as she sat across from him. "What is it, Jay?" She asked.

She looked like she was in her mid-twenties, with long raven-black hair and coral-green eyes. She held an emotionless face and held her head up high. "I need your help," he said, glancing over his shoulder to see if anyone was watching them. "Things are going downhill."

She chuckled, "Let me guess... Luna's plans to stop the vampires aren't going as planned." She said calmly, leaning forward. "I told you would not work, but you ignored me and followed your lover."

Jay glared, "I thought it would work." He grumbled, taking a sip. "Now we have Lycan brothers running around causing chaos."

"The only way to stop this is to stop the vampires. That was my plan," she argued, leaning back in her seat. "You were there! You heard Jasmine's vision, and we need to do something."

"And Luna thought bringing lycans back would stop them!" He glowered.

She stared at him blankly, "Why am I here then, Jay?" She asked.

"Eleanor," he sighed. "I called you because I want to join you... Your side."

The corner of her lips tilted upward. "We witches are thought to be weak, but we are clever. That's why I took all the sea witches away from this chaos. But with you, we'll get somewhere."

"What's the plan?" Jay asked.

"We ruin the vampires from the inside." She grinned evilly, and Jay sipped his coffee.

He loved Luna since they were children and followed her like a lost puppy. But he wanted to reject her to be with Luna when he found his mate. He didn't know Luna would leave their love and force him to come to terms with his mate bond.

"I also want you to contact someone for me."
