Chase's POV
We were all currently sitting in the cafeteria eating lunch when Hunter Riley walks in. He smirks at me and gives me one of his signature nods. School has been in session for two weeks now and he annoys me every day in Bio.
"He so likes you." Avery said playfully shoving me
"He is annoying as fuck. He doesn't leave me alone in Biology." I said irritated
"Well typically when buys bug you it means they like you. That has been the rule since like second grade." Chelsea said giving me the duh look
"I wouldn't go for him if I were you Chaz. He has a reputation." Austin said giving me a weird look
"Austin shut up you are just jeal-" Avery was about to say something but Austin quick covered her mouth
"Stop fucking talking now." he said giving her a death look
"Why are all you guys in a weird mood today?" I asked getting up and throwing my lunch away
"Everybody is just excited for the Welcome Back Pep Rally tomorrow." Nick said
"I know. I am so excited to do our routine. I think it is going to be our best one yet since forever." I said gushing
"Yeah well I am just excited to see you guys all in your tight little uniforms." Austin said smirking but I hit him in the back of the head
"Ow, what was that for?" he asked rubbing his head
"Stop being such a guy." I said as the bell rang
All the stupid freshman kept crowding the hallways and I was late to class. My seventh period teacher gave me detention for after school today. I have never had detention before so I was freaking out all through my eighth period. Thank God Hunter wasn't there to annoy me. He probably skipped class today on purpose.
After the final bell I packed stuff into my backpack and walked the long walk to the detention room. Well here goes nothing I thought as I opened up the door.

I walked inside and the teacher looked at me, grunted, and gave me a slip to fill out. I handed it back to him and looked up to see Hunter, Drew, Marco, Matt, and Jake. Great I thought as I sat down in a chair.
"Hello I'm Drew." he said waving at me
"Hi I'm Chase." I said smiling and waving back
"This is Marco, Matt, and Jake. You already know Hunter." Drew said introducing me to everybody else.
"What did Ms. A plus student do to get detention?" Hunter asked me shocked
"The freshman were crowding the hallway when I was trying to get to seventh period so I was late for class and my teacher wrote me up." I said seriously. They all took one look at me and busted out laughing. I thought Marco was going to wet his pants he was laughing so hard on the floor.
The first half hour I got all my homework done for the weekend so I have time to catch up on my sleep and hangout with my friends. All of a sudden a spit ball lands on my desk.
"You guys are disgusting." I said flicking it back towards them
"We are just trying to lighten up the mood. I'm sorry Chaz." Drew said winking at me
"You are the only person I know who does homework in detention. Don't you like to have any fun?" Hunter asked me
"I have plenty of fun." I said getting defensive
"Getting thrown up in the air and smiling 24/7 doesn't count as having fun. I'm talking about the type of fun that leaves you with an adrenaline rush." he said giving me a smirk but he looked really sexy with it.
"Tomorrow's pep rally is going to be fun." I said trying to protest
"No it isn't. We are only going because we have to." Marco said rolling his eyes
"How about this? After detention today you hang out with us after school." Hunter suggested staring at me
"You can't use homework as an excuse since you just finished it all." Matt said
"And you probably know your routine by heart so don't give us that bullshit either." Jake added
"Alright fine I will hangout with you guys. Gosh you all are annoying." I said as the teacher told us we could go home now. I quickly texted my mom saying I would be home late since I am hanging out with friends.
"Alright boys how about some food and then go to the spot?" Hunter asked and everybody piled into Drew's huge SUV. I hopped in and was put in between the middle of Marco and Matt. Poor Jake got put in the back.
"Where are we going to get food?" I asked curiously
"We go to McDonald's and order as much shit as we want, take it up to our spot and pig out." Drew explained to me
"McDonald's is so unhealthy for you." I said grossed out
"Stop being such a loser and live a little. One big Mac is not going to kill you." Hunter said rolling his eyes at me
"No but it might lead me to have a heart attack down the road." I retorted as we pulled through the drive thru. Drew ordered six big macs, six cokes, six large french fries, and six mcflurries. It took us about twenty minutes to get to the spot. We all piled out of the car and I followed them down a dirt path. There was a sign that said no tresspassers aloud.
"This is considered breaking and entering." I said to Hunter standing before the sign with my arms crossed
"And your point is? Come on babe I don't have all day." he said starting to get impatient with me. I ignored the instant butterflies in my stomach when he called me babe.
"I am not about to break the law. I'm a good person." I said becoming annoyed
"You are also very annoying and I'm hungry so either you can start walking or else." he said giving me a death glare. I gave him a death glare back and he just rolled his eyes and picked me up and threw me over his shoulders and walked me to the place where everybody else was. He put me down next to drew and handed me my food. Everybody was quiet while eating. The spot was a place that was a hill but it overlooked the whole town. The town was lit up and it looked very beautiful.
"It is still so hot out for being September." Marco said wiping sweat off his forehead
"That or maybe you are just overweight fat ass." Hunter said laughing playfully shoving Marco. Hunter's smile was so cute. It made me smile every time I see him smile.
"Do you ever get nervous to perform in front of everybody at school?" Drew asked me
"I did at first but you just get used to it." I replied shrugging
"I bet your cheeks hurt from smiling so much." Matt said kicking a rock down the hill
"Marco's right it is hot as balls out here." Hunter said fanning himself. The boys all smirked at each other and got up and started walking. I quickly got up and followed since it is starting to get dark out and I didn't want to be left alone. We walked for about ten minutes before coming up to this huge lake. We climbed a cliff to the top and there was a rope you could swing on to jump into the water. All the guys took their shirts off and jumped in. I was checking out Hunter's body but trying my best not to make it noticeable.
"Are you coming in or what?" Hunter asked me. I have always been afraid of heights so right now I was freaking out.
"I'm in my school uniform." I said looking over the edge
"It will dry. Come on loser don't tell me you are scared of heights or something." he said but as soon as he saw the look on my face he knew I was. He grabbed the rope and took my two hands and put them on it. I ignored the sparks that I felt when he touched me and I was praying he couldn't see the blush rise to my face.
"Alright you jump on and I will tell you when to let go. You have to trust me though." he said actually sounding sincere
I grabbed the rope and looked back at him.
"Do you trust me?" he asked as I began swinging.
"Not really but I could die while I am up here so I guess I am going to have to trust you." I said nervously
"God you are dramatic. Ok on the count of three let go. Ready? 1,2 3!" Hunter yelled and I let go. I felt the cool water all around me and than I popped up for air. I caught a glimpse of Hunter smiling at me before he did a flip into the water. Show off I thought in my head. We all just played in the water for a while before deciding we all wanted to go home. Drew dropped us off at both of our houses.
"Chase I think it is safe to say you are the newest member of our group. All of us got a nickname when we started this group. You need one now." Drew said smirking at me
"You guys can call me Chaz. My family and friends have called me that since I was a baby." I replied
"Chaz it is. Have a goodnight guys." Drew said winking before speeding off
"What are you smirking at me for?" I asked Hunter
"Admit it you had fun today." he said giving me a look
"If you call, almost dying on a rope today fun than yeah it was thrilling." I replied sarcastically
"Whatever be that way. I'm tired and don't feel like dealing with your shit right now." he said begining to walk back towards his house
"Wait! I did have fun today." I said hoping he heard me
"I'm sorry what was that Chase? I couldn't hear you?" he asked cupping the back of his ear. Smart ass.
"I said I had fun today!" I yelled loud enough where the neighbors probably heard me
"Good. I'm glad to know you aren't always a stick in the mud. Goodnight Chaz." he said actually smiling at me
"Goodnight Jerk." I said winking at him as I walked inside my house
