Mahi and Aarya reached Mumbai at the hotel and Mahi gave a sigh of relief finally reaching home!
He turned towards Aarya and saw her fast asleep!
"Aarya? Aarya?" He patted her cheeks to wake her up, but she didn't buzz, she was in deep sleep.
He got out of the car and went towards her side and slipped his one arm around her neck supporting it and another below her knees and lifted her carefully, slowly carried her.
On their way to the room he saw Harry who was going to the lobby!
"Are bhai! Finally!" He said
"Kya hua Harry?" Mahi asked
"Kidhar the aap? Virat had called, he was worried aap dono ka call nahi lag raha tha toh!"
"Are yaar haan! Hum paas hi ke kisi gaav mein phas gaye the! Range hi nahi tha, contact nahi ho pa raha tha! Sorry yaar Harry!" He apologized.
"It's okay Bhai! Is she okay? Do you need any help?" He asked looking at him carrying Aarya.
"Bukhar and cough hai, she should be fine! Doctor ko call kar dunga, thik ho jayegi!"
"Bhai, chalo aap, main kar leta hoon, aap aram karo!"
"Par Harry!"
"Par var kuch nahi, chalo!"
"Chalo!"
Harry took the keys from Mahi and opened the door.
Mahi slowly put Aarya on bed, and covered her with sheets. In sleep she holds his hand and Mahi sits beside her, and she shifts her head on his lap. He looks at her, his eyes screaming love.
He strokes her hair gently, she snuggles more. He rests his head on the bed rest and closes his eyes!
Harry was observing all this and a smile crept on his face understanding the emotions there!
"Bhai! Rah bula raha hai, I actually promised him we will go out for coffee and some shopping, kuch lage toh call immediately!" He said getting up to leave.
"Yes Harry, I'll call!"
"And please call Vi, he must be panicking!"
"I'll call him!"
He gave a quick hug to him and left.
He mustered up courage and called him.
"Cheeku?" Mahi said a bit scared and with love.
"Thank god Bhai! Kahan the aap, aise gayab kaun hota hai? How is Aarya? I wanna talk to her." He half yelled
"Cheeku kiddo, I am really sorry bacha! Keep your mind calm and hear me out? Aarya has caught a fever and cold, she is sleeping right now!"
"Shant kaise rahu main bhai? A whole day aapka kuch contact nahi ho raha tha, na Aarya ka, itna tension mein aa gaya tha main apko jara bhi idea hai? And Aarya is sick abhi!i"
"Bacha I understand, but we tried too, range nahi tha!"
"The kahan aise aap ki range nahi tha?"
"Actually Vi, when you left first me and Aarya went to a cafe, then we were strolling on the beach and suddenly she demanded for a long drive, I said no but she convinced me for it! We kinda reached a forested area, our car broke down, it started raining we tried calling for help, but there was no range and koi dikh nahi raha tha! Then we found the old couple's house and they let us stay! And maybe due to ice cream, playing in water and getting wet in rain she fell sick!" He explained.
"Bhai, you don't have to give in to her every demand you know?"
"I know Vi, she was happy, and very excited, and I would have hated the opposite site! And after all she is your sister!"
"I understand bhai! And what is 'she is your sister' supposed to mean? Huh?"
"Meaning, she knows how to convince me! You taught her well!" He said in a teasing tone.
"I didn't teach her anything!" He said defending himself.
"Really? The puppy eye look, your ultimate weapon to manofy me!"
Virat laughed a bit like a kid who was caught doing mischief.
"But how is she now bhai?" He asked really worried for her.
"Aunty gave her some meds and haldi ka dudh before leaving! She felt a bit okay, once she wakes up I'll call the doctor, if she is still not feeling well!" Mahi said
"Yes! How were the people, you were staying with?"
"They were really kind and friendly, they made us feel home! They grew fond of Aarya! Their daughter is in America for studies so maybe that's why! They were insisting we stayed back today also but Aarya wanted to go home!"
"Yeah she would! Anyways bhai, call me once she wakes up, I can't wait to talk to her! I have to go for shoot!"
"Yes cheeku and don't worry we are fine and Aarya is fine too!"
"I know bhai! I don't have to worry when she is with you!"
Mahi just smiled at it.
"Bye cheeku!" He said
"Bhai! Wait!" Virat called him remembering something m
"Yes kiddo?"
"Bhai, you'll have be very patient when she is sick! She gets cranky, and does not listen to what you say! You have to handle her like a small kid! She will do all the nakhras nahi sunna hai voh, call me immediately or atleast threaten to call me she will listen immediately. Sambhal lena!" He said.
"Yes cheeku, you don't stress."
"Thank you Bhai! And bye!" Vi said and hung up.
After sometime Aarya woke up groaning.
"Aarya?" Mahi called
"My head is hurting!" She exclaimed.
"Get up and sit, I have ordered food for you! I'll call the doctor!"
"Doctor? Why?"
"What do you mean, why? You have fever, cold, cough!"
"No na! I'll be fine!"
"I am not listening to you, don't forget your promise!"
"Huh? Fine!"
"Good girl!"
She made faces at him.
The doctor checked her and gave some medicines and assured Mahi that she will be fine and not to worry! Mahi thanked him!
"Where is bhai?" She asked
"He's still stuck in Ahmedabad! He will come soon!" He said taking her hand in his and squeezed it assuring her.
"Call him na! I wanna talk to him!" She said in childlike tone.
"Wait!"
He called him!
"Haan Bhai kya hua? Aarya thik hai na?" Vi asked panicked as soon as he picked up
"Shant Cheeku! Voh thik hai! Le baat kar usse!" He says and hands over the phone to Aarya!
"Bhaiiii!" She calls still in a childlike tone.
"Aaru kiddo! How are you feeling now?" He asked with concern in his voice.
"I am good Bhai! First tell me when are you coming?"
"I'll come soon maybe tonight or tomorrow! I still have some commitments here na!"
"Okayy come soonnn I miss you so much bhaii!"
"I know kiddo! Me too! I can't wait to see you and give you a tight hug!"
"Even me bhai! You know I can't stay without you!"
"I know bacha! I'll be there soon okay! I love you my baby!"
"I love you too Bhai!"
"Now rest, and don't trouble Mahi!"
"I don't trouble anyone!" She said pouting.
"Sureeeee! Chalo, I have been called I'll talk to you at night!" He said
"Bye bhaiyaaaa!" She said and hung up.
"Feeling better abhi?" Mahi asked
"Yes!" She nodded.
"Also Mahi!"
"Haan?"
"Did bhai yell? Was he upset?"
"He was just worried and concerned, which is natural no?"
"Yes! I am sorry!"
"Sorry? For?"
"You had to go through so much trouble because of me! Bhai yelled at you! I am sorry! I should have listened to you and not demanded to go on a long drive!" She said
"Hey! It's okay!" He said cupping her cheeks and moving a bit closer.
"I am not angry! If you are talking when we got stuck, I was irritated and frustrated! You didn't demand to get stuck there! It's okay it really is! Please don't say sorry and look sad! Come on give me a smile!" He said carassing her cheeks with his thumb.
She gave a small smile
"That's like a good girl!" He said and leaned forward and kissed her on her forehead.
Food came by then.
Mahi got her plate and forwarded a bite.
"I am not hungry!"
"Have thoda Aaru! Medicines bhi lene hai!"
"I don't want!"
"You don't have an option!"
"But........."
"No buts, have it. If you have food and medicine I promise I'll get you a chocolate pastry and my dinner treat, once you get better!" Mahi said trying to bribe her into eating.
She narrowed her eyes at him suspiciously.
"I promise you will get it! I won't go back on my words!"
"Fine! I'll be after you till I get it then!" She said
"Deal!"
"Deal!"
"Now have it!"
He fed her, thinking she is still a kid at heart!
After she finished food and she made sure he had his, and having meds without any nakhra he made her lie down and was about to get up but she held his hand.
"Stay na, don't go!"
"I am here only, sleep!"
He sat beside her patting her head. She rested her head on his chest, and snuggled and slept. Mahi was shocked for a minute but held her and patter her back and stroked her hairs.
"I am falling for you even more Aarya! I love you! I promise to protect you and maintain that infectious smile and childlike enthusiasm forever!" He thought to himself.
They spent the day with Mahi looking after her, watching movies to distract the mind.
Next morning;
Virat's pov:
Me and Ro finally reached Mumbai and on our way back to the hotel all I could think of was Aarya. I finally reached the hotel and without wasting a minute I rushed to Aarya's room
"Aaru?" Vi called no response
"Aarya? Bachha are u in the washroom?" he again got no reply
He started panicking and called Mahi.
"Arey, pick up Mahi bhai please!!"
He tried calling Mahi 3 times but he didn't pick up he asked the reception if they had seen Aarya.
"Gosh kaha gayi yeh ladki? He said they are back!" He said starting to worry
Wait I didn't check Mahi's room
He rushed to Mahi's room
He comes into the room and his eyes widened at the sight in front of him.
