Summary: Peter and Alena are expecting a baby. After nine long months, the next gen Romanoff-Rogers is finally ready to meet everyone who's gonna love them, just as much as their mother and father are loved.
3 months into pregnancy:
Alena had just told her parents that she was pregnant. For the first time in three months, it felt real to her. She was gonna have a baby.
Fortunately, both her parents had reacted well, both being very excited for their grandkid.
Now, the couple sat on their couch, Mila cuddled into Alena, the puppy's head rested on her slightly swollen stomach.
,,See, that went well"
Peter smiled at his redheaded girlfriend, who seemed lost in thought, just petting their dog.
Alena hummed in confirmation, her baby blue eyes meeting his chocolate ones.
,,You think we can do this? Like, on our own?"
She inquired, her gaze characterised by insecurity.
Peter smiled at her, before pressing an affectionate kiss to her lips. If he was honest, he wasn't sure, but they sure would try.
,,I dunno. Maybe we'll mess up, but that's gonna be okay too. I just know that we'll love this kid more than we'll ever know"
He assured, placing a hand on his girlfriend's small bump. She placed hers over his, squeezing it tightly.
4 months into pregnancy:
Alena woke up early that morning. More specifically, she'd been waking up early for the past 3 weeks.
Up until her third month of pregnancy, she hasn't had any morning sickness or weird cravings, but as soon as she entered the 12th week of her pregnancy, she'd been throwing up non stop.
Every little thing made her nauseous; her breakfast, Mila's food, the smell of Peter's cologne, even mac and cheese with hot sauce made her stomach churn.
The 25 year old redhead was hunched over the toilet, violently throwing up anything she'd been able to keep down. This sucked.
Alena leaned against the wall opposite the toilet, closing her eyes in annoyance. The whole world seemed to be spinning, that's how dizzy she was.
,,Light, you okay?"
Peter's voice asked from their bedroom. He sounded sleepy, as if he'd only just woken up.
,,Morning sickness sucks big time"
The redhead retorted, her voice full of desperation. All this was so overwhelming for her, so new, so ... different.
Seconds later, Peter slid down the wall next to her, bringing her into a comforting hug.
Once she'd calmed down a bit, he cupped her face, wiping the tears from her cheeks.
,,You are so strong, my love"
Kiss
"I love you"
Another kiss
"so much"
Looong kiss
"We can do this"
One more kiss
"I promise"
He looked at her, his eyes radiating nothing but love, affection and admiration for the woman he loved most in this world.
Alena looked back at him, tears in her eyes. She wondered how the hell she deserved someone so supportive by her side.
,,I love you so much"
She admitted before resting her forehead on his shoulder, holding his hand close to her heart.
5 months into pregnancy:
,,Okay, you ready to find out?"
Alena smiled at her parents, placing a cupcake in front of each of them.
Her and Peter had decided that they wanted no one but themselves and their closest family, meaning Natasha, Steve and May, to know if their baby was gonna be born a boy or girl.
What neither Nat and Steve nor May knew was that there was a little bit of a twist with the gender reveal.
Alena sat down next to her boyfriend, grinning from ear to ear. She was so excited to see how her parents were gonna react.
Peter took hold of her hand, squeezing it tightly.
,,You're making a really big deal out of this, детка свет (baby light)"
Natasha smirked, eyeing the cupcake which held the answer to her grandbaby's gender.
If she was honest, she was more than excited to finally meet her daughter's kid. God, 25 years ago she wouldn't have even thought to ever experience having children, nor grandchildren.
,,Well it is special"
Alena insisted, resting her hand on her now visible bump.
Pregnancy had been treating the redhead poorly up until a week ago, but now that she was almost 21 weeks pregnant, the morning sickness decreased and the anticipation for the little one to arrive increased.
She was glowing, inside and out. Alena felt the need to share that joy with everyone around her.
While she'd been moody and a nightmare to be around for the first trimester, she was now a lot more pleasant towards the people she loved. Some might say she was a nightmare dressed like a daydream, nowadays.
Another great thing, besides the fact that said redhead had stopped asking Peter why he did this to her was that 'baby spiderlight' started kicking their mother.
Not hard, but just hard enough that Alena began feeling a little tickle everytime they did that. She began caring for the tiny human being grown inside her more than she'd have liked to admit.
,,You ready? Take a bite on three"
Peter's voice ripped the 25 year old out of her thoughts and back into reality.
Alena looked at Tasha, smiling brightly at her. She was glad to have both her parents by her side.
The grandparents to be shared a look, before taking a big bite into the cupcake. What came next confused three out of five people in the room.
Two of the cupcake's fillings were pink, while the third one was blue.
Natasha was the first to string the truth together:
,,It's a little girl, isn't it?"
Alena nodded, her eyes beaming brightly. Everyone knew how much the 25 year old had dreamt of having a daughter, not that having a son would've been a bad thing.
Next thing she knew, Peter and her were brought into a big group hug. Natasha was the one closest to her, cupping her face before pressing a kiss to her cheek.
Alena was really happy with the reaction her Parents showed, especially her Mom's, who normally was such a reserved and stoic person. The way the older redhead smiled and talked about the baby made her incredibly happy.
6 months into pregnancy:
Alena stood in front of the mirror, frowning. None of her shirts fit comfortably anymore, her jeans wouldn't close and she'd even had to buy a whole new set of bras because hers were suddenly too small by a whole cup.
She couldn't believe how much space the little girl in her stomach needed. The redhead felt nothing but huge and she was only at week 27.
,,You okay, darling?"
Peter's voice cut through the silence, his reflection showing up behind her in the mirror. Alena shook her head.
,,Peter, your child is taking up too much space in my stomach. She's making my clothes not fit anymore, even my underwear is uncomfortable"
The 25 year old stemmed her fists into her sides, half joking. Still, she genuinely didn't know where this kid was gonna go anymore, since she was only 5'3 (160 cm), which wasn't exactly tall.
Peter chuckled as he wrapped his arms around his girlfriend's stomach, burying his face in her shoulder with an affectionate kiss to it. For him, the redhead was still the most beautiful person in the world, in fact, her carrying their child made her even more stunning somehow.
,,You're so beautiful, my love"
He mumbled, making Alena blush a little. Even after 3 years together, he still managed to make her cheeks flushed red.
She placed a hand to the side of his cheek, turning his face towards her to kiss his lips.
,,I love you"
,,I love you too, my darling"
7 months into pregnancy:
Peter and Alena sat on opposite ends of their couch, their puppy's head in her lap, while the both of them wrote a list with baby names they liked.
Up until now the little girl had only been "Sunny" or "Sunny girl" to them, a nickname Alena adapted from her Aunt Yelena, who'd always call her that. So, it was about time that the parents to be came up with a name for their daughter.
The redhead had one hand on her stomach, which by now was undeniably a baby bump, feeling her little sun kick once more.
,,Hey darling, I have a suggestion"
Peter broke the silence, looking up from his list. His eyes met hers, a slight excitement swinging in his voice. Alena gave a nod, curious.
,,What if we name her Mary, like after my mom?"
He asked, apparently very fond of the idea of keeping his Mom's memory alive through the little girl. Alena scrunched her nose, a crooked smile tugging at her lips.
,,Could we do a variation? No offence, but I'm not the biggest fan of the name"
She asked carefully. The redhead didn't wanna hurt her boyfriend's feelings, yet she didn't want to name her daughter a name she didn't like. Peter nodded:
,,Yea, yea no that's okay. How about Marie then?"
,,I like that. Also, I really wanna honour Yelena in a way, because she's been a big part of my life and I kinda wanna keep her name alive, since she can't have kids"
Alena threw in. She'd been looking at her aunt's name for quite some time now, even though she wanted to use a variation as well, as to still give their daughter her very own name.
Peter gave a nod, approving of the idea. After that, silence broke over the couple once more, as they continued looking for names. At the end of the day, they'd still not figured out what to name their sunny girl, but they still had around 2 months left... or so they thought.
8 months into pregnancy:
38 weeks of pregnancy. Alena couldn't believe how fast this whole experience had gone by. It felt like it was only yesterday that she first held the positive test in her hands, a thousand thoughts racing through her mind.
It felt like yesterday that she told Peter about their sunny girl, only yesterday that they found out that they'd be having a daughter.
So, when she began having cramps in the middle of the night, even though she was only 38 weeks and the baby wasn't due for another 2 and a half weeks, she began freaking out a little.
,,Peter, Hey, darling"
The redhead whispered to the 26 year old, trying to get him to wake up. To her surprise, he turned around, fully awake:
,,Why are you up? It's 4 in the morning?"
,,I dunno, spidey senses are going crazy right now. Are you okay? How's sunny girl?"
He inquired, placing a gentle hand to her stomach. Alena grabbed it, when another one of those nasty pains hit her and she squeezed his hand tighter than she intended to.
,,Ahhh, what the hell?"
Both partners exclaimed, Alena clutching her stomach while Peter freed himself of his girlfriend's grasp.
,,Dyou think those are contractions?"
He asked while she heaved herself out of bed to go call her mom.
,,I'm only 38 weeks, Sunny isn't supposed to come for another 2 and a half weeks"
Alena explained, clutching her lower stomach again, partly to support herself and partly to ease the pain of the kick she just received. Apparently, her little sun couldn't wait to meet her parents.
Seconds later, she was on the phone with Natasha, informing her of the contractions she kept having. Halfway through the call though, the redhead was met with a strange sensation.
Her pants seeped with what seemed to be clear fluid. Alena's water had broken, it was time to go to the hospital.
,,Okay, Mama, my water just broke - Peter, grab the hospital bag, Sunny girl wants out - Can you meet me there?"
The redhead rambled, talking to the phone and her boyfriend simultaneously, while she scrambled to get everything she needed.
Seconds later, the couple sat in the car, ready to go. Alena took hold of her boyfriend's hand, her baby blue eyes meeting his chocolate ones.
,,Let's go meet our daughter"
She sighed, a bright smile spreading on her face. Peter smiled back before he pressed a kiss to her lips.
,,I cant wait"
3rd of December, 5:28 AM:
,,Okay, you got it, Alena. She's here. Your baby girl is here"
The screams of a baby filled the room, followed by a sigh of relief by the new mom. Alena couldn't believe it, she was a mom.
The nurse placed the little girl wrapped in a blanket to her Mom's chest, smiling at her. The redhead ran her hand over her Kid's head affectionately.
,,Hi, my little sunny girl. Nice to meet you"
She whispered, looking at her baby's face. The little girl looked a lot like her, apart from the brown strands of hair going in all directions.
Peter put an arm around his girlfriend, admiring his baby girl. The look in his eyes spoke more than words ever could. He was immediately taken by the way she smiled contently, cuddled into her mother.
1 hour later
,,Ms. Romanoff-Rogers, Mr. Parker, there's someone here for you"
Another nurse popped her head through the door, smiling at the family of three. Alena nodded, giving permission for them to enter.
By now they'd been given a room to recover and for people to meet the little girl, who, as of now was sleeping in her mother's arms.
,,Knock, knock"
Steve's voice rang from the door before he and Nat entered the room. While Steve went to talk to Peter and congratulate him, Natasha immediately went to check on her daughter. After all, having a baby wasn't exactly easy.
,,How are you, baby light?"
She asked softly, standing at the younger redhead's bedside. Alena patted the space on her bed for her mom to sit down.
,,Exhausted"
The girl in question laughed, resting her head on her Mom's shoulder, while her gaze rested on her own daughter. The littlest of the Romanoff-Rogers girls opened her eyes now, curiously staring at her mom and grandmother.
,,She's got your eyes, моя любовь (my love)"
Natasha noticed, stroking a strand of hair behind her daughter's ear. Alena hummed in confirmation, although when she looked closer, she noticed specks of emerald in the little girl's eyes.
The mother daughter duo enjoyed the moment alone with the newest member of the family, since Steve and Peter had gone to get something to eat.
Soon, there was another knock, before a certain blonde entered the room, smiling brightly. Alena had notified her aunt the second her daughter was born and, as to be expected, Yelena came to visit as soon as possible:
,,You okay, солнце (sun)?"
,,Yea, I am now. You wanna meet your great-niece?"
Alena smiled, knowing Yelena wouldn't like that expression.
,,Don't call me that, it makes me sound old"
The blonde scrunched her nose, before coming closer to get a good look at her niece's daughter. Her gaze softened, looking at the baby girl.
,,Whats her name?"
She asked, just when Peter and Steve returned with a bag of food. Alena shot her boyfriend a look, before turning back to Yelena and everyone else.
,,We named her Elina Marie Romanoff-Rogers-Parker. Marie after Peter's mom and Elina ... Elina is a variation of the name Yelena"
Alena announced, looking at little Elina lovingly. Nat tightened her embrace around her daughter, Steve smiled and Yelena ... Yelena was speechless.
From that day on, everyone's lives would change at least a little bit. Alena and Peter would try to be the best parents they could and even if they failed or made mistakes, they knew they weren't alone.
Little Elina Marie would be loved, just as much as her mother was loved growing up...
A/N: To say I got through this without tearing up would be a lie. I am deeply attached to Alena and seeing how far I got with her, seeing her grow up in my silly little oneshots makes me a little emotional. I mean when I started writing oneshots, I primarily focused on little Alena but now, 2 ½ years later, she's grown up :,)
Okay anyways, enough of my crying, I hope you enjoyed this one, have a great day/night, stay amazing and I'll see you around <33
