Hey everyone this is my first story.
This story is similar to Obligated Ambitions and Reckless Challenger from the users zer0420 and Lunolion.
I've read these stories for a while and are my favorites. I can tell the difference in them both and these two deserve credit for all the work.
Ever since the Scarlet and Violet game along with Arceus in Hisui brought me ideas for this. So if there are any mistakes please remind me or pm me.
In the Unova Region, there's a competition called the Pokemon World Tournament Junior Cup that takes place in Lancunosa Town and is being hosted by the Alder the champion the region. As Ash and his friends go to the register to sign themselves up, they find Alder talking to Sinnoh's Champion Cynthia.
Alder: Youre as beautiful as always, Cynthia. What do you think? Lets ditch the tournament and have a meal together.
Cynthia just smiled at Alder.
Cynthia: Feel free to do so alone like always.
Alder just stared laughing, hearing her response.
Alder: I can't get enough of your coolness!
Dawn: Is that the Champion of Unova, Alder?
Iris: Uh, y-yeah...
Cilan: He is, but...
Alder: Then how about having tea at least?
Cynthia: Persistence will only get you no where.
Ash: Hey Ald...
Trip: You havent changed a bit haven't you?!
Both Alder and Cynthia looked over and saw everyone.
Cynthia: Oh who are you?
Alder: Umm.. Err.. Who are you again?
Trip: Trip
Alder: Oh right, right, Tristian!
Trip: It's Trip.
Ash: Trip, are you going to enter to?
Trip: Ash? The winner gets to battle Alder. It's basic.
Ash rolled his eyes and looked over at Alder.
Ash: It's been a while, Alder.
Alder: Oh, so you're entering as well Ashton!
Ash: I-it's Ash...
Trip: Alder, please wait for me to win the Tournament.
Alder: Oh, young boy. You wanna fight?
Trip: Yes. And then I'll make sure to battle and win against you, Alder. I'll prove with my prowess that you're a person of the past.
After his declaration, Trip left the group.
Ash: What's with him?
Iris: He hasn't changed a bit.
Dawn: Did something happen between him and Alder?
Cilan: Somewhat, yeah...
As everyone was talking, Cynthia had noticed a boy that looked looked 17. He is black haired young man with brown eyes and glasses walking past them with his hood over his head.
While he was walking there was an Eevee riding on his shoulder looking around with a serious expression.
Cynthia recognized him making her eyes widened, but soon smiled with a little blush.
Cynthia: I see. You have arrived after so long.
Ash: Huh?
Dawn: What do you mean?
Cynthia just smiled.
Cynthia: Oh. It's nothing.
(Later)
Inside the stadium, after the exhibition match between Cynthia and Caitlin of the Unova Elite Four, Freddy O'Martian presented the tournaments's challengers. The boy was listening and leaning on the wall with his Eevee.
Freddy: The first match has been decided, and it will be Trip vs Niku!
Trip looked over Niku who was walking to the field with Eevee jumping on his shoulder and smirked.
Trip: It doesn't matter who I'm up against, you wont last long anyway.
Niku stopped and looked over at Trip with Eevee staring at him with a glare.
Niku: Don't be so full of yourself that will be your mistake.
Both Niku and Trip made there way to the battlefield, and stood off with one another. Niku looked ready so he took his hood off.
Referee: Now, let the battle begin!
Trip: Go, Serperior!
Trip threw his Pokéball and out came his Serperior.
Serperior: Perior!
Ash: Oh what's that?
Ash checked his pokedex and it identified that it is the final evolution of Snivy.
Ash: So that means his Servine has evolved!
Niku looked at the Serperior and showed no worries and brought a Fast Ball.
Niku: Let's see what you've got against this. Arcanine standby for battle!
Throwing the Fast Ball and Niku sent out Arcanine.
Arcanine: Arc!
Arcanine appeared and looked at his opponent and roared with black aura at Serperior and it winced a little. With the different appearance of the Arcanine everyone was shocked and the some people in the audience rose from there seats to see the Arcanine.
Dawn: Arcanine?
Iris: I've seen an Arcanine before but this one is different.
Ash: Yeah, I've seen one before but this is this a new one?
Ash brought out the Pokedex to find out anything about this Arcanine, but this one is not found in the machine.
Ash: That's weird it should know about Arcanine but it can't be identified.
Cilan: This doesn't make any sense. How come it can't be identified and as one like it is found in the Kanto Region?
Up in the stands Cynthia looked and saw the Arcanine and was surprised to see an Arcanine she read about and got see for herself.
Cynthia: No way!! That Arcanine is the extinct version from old times! How did Niku get ahold of one?! Niku what have you been doing in Paldea?
Trip looked at Niku, and was surprised to see an Arcanine but smirked.
Trip: Doesn't matter what Pokemon you have, I'll win either way. Alright Serperior, use Leer, let's go.
Serperior's Leer lowered Arcanines defense but Arcanine didn't have any reaction to it.
Freddy: So Trip decided to lower Arcanine's defense but...?
Niku closed his eyes with no reaction and Arcanine stood still and wasn't fazed.
Alder: But it would seem there is no effect to either of them.
Seeing Niku and Arcanine standing there with no reaction, started annoying Trip.
Niku: You think that will work on him? Have a look at your friend.
Trip looks at Serperior and sees it having an angry look.
Trip: Wait is that...?
Niku: That's right. My Arcanines ability is Intimidate. Therefore your attack stats are lowered. Now make it angrier.
Arcanine roared and with purple aura and Serperior was more mad.
Trip: It doesn't matter. I'll end this now! Serperior use Frenzy Plant!!
Serperior then proceeded to use Frenzy Plant, send a wave of throned vines towards Arcanine. Niku opened his eyes at the last second.
Niku: Fire Spin now!
Arcanine: Arrr!
As the vines charged to Arcanine he roared with flames surrounding and burned all directions of the vines coming its way.
Serperior: Serperior?!
Trip: What?!
Alder: Did you see that?!
Freddy: Sure did.! Arcanine surrounded it self will flames to burn away the Frenzy Plant with a very powerful Fire Spin.
Dawn: No way...!
Iris: It incinerated the Frenzy Plant like it was nothing!
Trip looked over Niku and he stared back with a grin.
Niku: If thats all you got? Then I'll finish this instead. Raging Fury go!
Arcanine: Arrr!!
Roaring while being consumed by flames it charges towards Serperior, hitting it with a great charge of flames and burning and screaming and fell down with swirls in the eyes, shocking everybody including the Sinnoh champion.
Referee: Serperior is unable to battle, which means Arcanine wins. The victor is Niku!!
Freddy: Niku made the first victory and it was spectacular.
Alder: Indeed, I think this kid will bring more interesting battles for all of us to see.
Arcanine walked back to Niku and petted him on the head.
Niku: Well done Arcanine.
Eevee: Eevee!
Arcanine enjoyed the pat and licked his face and Eeve jumped on his head with a smile. Niku returned Arcanine and looked over at Trip. Trip looked at him back and Niku spoke.
Niku: Your overconfidence to defeat me was your downfall. No battle is 100 percent guaranteed. Let that be a lesson to you.
Niku walked away and with Eevee jumping on his shoulder and Trip looked down at his Serperior and returned it.
Dawn: Wow, that was quick...
Iris: Serperior was wiped out so quickly...
Ash looked to see Niku walking away with his hood back up and got excited.
Ash: Man, now I'm pumped up. I definitely want to face Niku when it is my time to battle face him.
Pikachu: Pika!
Iris: Still a kid, like always...
Within the stands, Cynthia who watched the match smiled with a hand over her heart.
Cynthia: Niku, you have gotten stronger.
Timeskip
The second round of the tournament begins today and seats were getting filled up. A few battles have passed and now it times for Niku to face off against Iris. Before the day came by Niku looked around with Eevee and saw Iris with a Dragonite that doesn't listen to Iris and acts on its own and made a plan if he faces her and to see it has become reality.
Alder: The promises to be a great trainer and battle with full of surprises.
Iris: Dragonite, let's do this!
Throwing out her Pokeball, and her Dragonite came to the battlefield.
Dragonite: Nite!
Niku: Hmm. So now it's his turn.
Niku looked at Dragonite and it noticed him staring at him and glared but Niku smirked.
Niku: Hey Dragonite! I've got an opponent you might be interested in.
Niku brought an Ultra Ball.
Niku: Now its your turn! Baxcalibur stand by for battle!
Niku threw the Ultra Ball and out came a giant big dragon with red claws and a sharp blade on its back and looked Dragonite and they looked at each other and roared together.
Baxcalibur and Dragonite: Baax!/Draa!
The roar got the fans standing up and scream and shout with them. Iris looked at the new dragon type and was had sparkles in her eyes.
Iris: Wow! I've never seen a dragon like that!
Ash: Wow, what kind of Pokemon is that?!
Dawn: That's a new pokemon I've never seen or heard of!
Ash brought out his Pokedex and look it up and like last time no data.
Ash: No Data?
Alder: Well what do you know. This kid has brought a Pokemon from the Paldea region.
Freddy: Indeed and this one looks like a strong one as well.
Ash: Paldea?
After the roar both dragons looked at eachother and gave smirks at one another knowing this will be a great battle.
Niku: Baxcalibur, Dragon Pulse now!
Iris: Dodge it!
Dragonite completely ignored her command and shot out a Flamethrower clashing with Dragon Pulse, creating a large explosion between to powerful moves. Niku heard and saw what Dragonite did and wasn't pleased.
Niku: Hmm... Still wont listen to her.
Iris: Dragonite! Why wont you listen to what I say.
Ash: Here we go again like last time...
Dawn: It would seem so...
Pikachu: Pika...
Cilan: Still wont listen to her... How ignorant
Niku: Hmm.. Alright then Baxcalibur charge forward!
Baxcalibur charged and Dragonite grinned and charged as well.
Iris: Dragonite, don't!
As the two dragon charged together they grabbed eachothers hands and struggled with each other but Dragonite was getting ready to use Flamethrower. Niku saw it coming but grinned for this.
Niku: Good just what I wanted.
The flames engulfed Baxcalibur but only grinned and showing no signs of pain.
Freddy: It looks like Dragonite's Flamethrower is doing damage but..
Alder: But Baxcalibur is not even flinching.
Iris: Niku what are you doing?!
Ash: Why won't Niku do anything?!
Niku grinned and made the next move.
Niku: Alright, Iron Head go!
Baxcaliburs head turns silver like metal and bashed Dragonite hard and flinched for the after effect of the move and staggered back.
Niku: Good charge in with Ice Punch!
Baxcalibur charged to Dragonite and landed the hit and bashed to the wall. Dragonite grunted and stood up and glared at his opponent.
Iris: Dragonite are you ok?!
Dragonite ignored her and flew straight up to begin his attack and Niku and Baxcalibur saw it up in the air.
Niku: What is he trying to do? Get ready Baxcalibur!
Baxcalibur: Bax!
Dragonite roared and flew to Baxcalibur and used Dragon Rush.
Niku: What the..? It's timing is off for this attack. Protect!
Baxcalibur puts its hands to the front and a shield gaurded from the attack but the defense was strong enough to repel the attack and Dragonite crashed into it and staggered.
Iris: Oh no Dragonite!!
Niku: Now! Finish this with Glaive Rush!
Baxcalibur leaped and blasted ice breath and flew backwards to hit Dragonite with the big fin on its back into a reckless charge. The attack rammed into Dragonite and hit the wall outside the field with swirls in its eyes, surprising everyone and a certain blonde.
Referee: Dragonite is unable to battle, which means Baxcalibur's the winner! The win goes to Niku!
As the crowd cheered and screamed at the victor, Niku walked over with Eevee beside him to Baxcalibur and patted the shoulder.
Niku: Great job like always Baxcalibur.
Eevee: Eevee!
Baxcalibur: Bax!
Upon being defeated, Iris looked sad and returned Dragonite with some tears falling on her knees. Niku returned Baxcalibur and walked over to her and kneeled down to her level.
Niku: Hey, Iris.
Iris: What? Are you here to make fun of me?!
Niku: No of course not. Listen, that was a good battle.
Iris: Wh.. What? What do you mean? Dragonite still wouldn't listen to me like before.
Niku: True. But listen you two may have differences on how you want to battle but you should listen more on what Dragonite wants rather than yourself.
Iris: How do I do that?
Niku: That's something you will have to figure out yourself. If you two don't understand one another you wont become a true dragon master.
Iris: Wait! How do you know I'm trying to become a Dragon Master?!
Niku: How isn't important. But this battle just proves you still got more to learn. You just got to be patient that's all.
Niku walks away with Eevee jumping on his shoulder and stopped to look at her with a side glance.
Niku: Good luck to you Iris.
Iris: Thank you... Good luck in the Semi finals.
Niku: Sure thing.
Timeskip
It's now time for the final round of the tournament, and after defeating Dawn's Piplup with his Eevee who was actually a very tough one for a little creature. Niku's final opponent is Ash. Niku did research on him and watched battles online seeing how he battles and so he decided to bring an old friend of his for battle.
Freddy: And now the finals are about to begin. This will be a match against Niku, the mysterious trainer, vs Ash, an unstoppable force. Who will be the victor?!
Ash: Alright! I've been waiting to battle you before the event ends.
Niku: Oh really? Then lets make this a battle worth battling for.
Dawn: This battle ought to be interesting.
Iris: Good luck, Ash!
Cilan: I can't wait to see what new flavors Ash and Niku will bring. Maybe Niku will give us something new!
Referee: Alright, let the battle begin!
Ash: Alright, Krokorok, I choose you!
Ash sent out his Krokorok.
Krokorok: Krokorok!
Niku looked at the pokemon and can tell something needs to be done for this one. He took out a Cherish Ball from his side.
Niku: This one looks ready for somehting interesting. Very well. Alright Ursuluna stand by for battle!
Niku threw the Pokeball out and what came is a giant bear creature with a red circle on the forehead and one green eye and dark eye.
Ursaluna: Ursaaa!!
The audience and contestant were shocked at the appearance of the new pokemon. Krokorok looked at how tall it is compared to it. Ash was more surprised to see a new one on Niku' side. Cynthia was surprised to see the Ursuluna she heard from in the legends and to see Niku has caught it.
Cynthia: Niku. You have caught the one from the legends! You really peaked my interest once again.
Ash: Wow, another new one!!
Ash brought out his Pokedex and still no information.
Ash: No way! Another one with no data. Niku who are you?!
Freddy: So, Ash has chosen Krokorok, while Niku has chosen an Ursuluna! Another new pokemon added to tournament!
This is will be a specatacular battle between these two ground types!
Ash: Great, this will just what I want. Alright, Krokorok, use Crunch!
Krokorok: Krokorok!
Niku: Take Down now!
Ursuluna charged to Krokorok and as it was ready for a Crunch but Ursuluna's move was strong enough to hit Krokorok. Krokorok crashed on the ground and Ursuluna stared at Krokorok with a glare.
Ash: Krokorok dont give up! Stone Edge now!
Krokorok: Kroko!
Niku: Use Rock Slide!
Ursuluna summoned huge boulders from the sky and blocked the stones from reaching and when the hit was made the boulders crumbled into a dust cloud and Ursuluna was gone.
Krokorok: Kroko?
Niku: Hammer Arm now!
Krokorok looked up and saw Ursuluna up in the air slammed Krokorok with glowing arms that slammed him to the ground.
Iris: Wait what happened?!
Cilan: Niku used the Rock Slide to prevent Krokorok to see what Ursuluna was up to!
Dawn: At that Hammer Arm is a very powerful move!
Freddy: A powerful attack from the fighting type move Hammer Arm!
Niku: Hammer Arm again!
Ash: Quick, dodge it!
Krokorok evaded by jumping out of the way from the Hammer Arm and jumping behind it.
Ash: Use Stone Edge!
Krokorok sent a wave a stones towards Ursuluna but Niku wasn't worried.
Niku: Slice them with Slash!
Using Slash, the stone became smalled and left no harm to Ursuluna and grunted after that weak attack.
Freddy: Ursuluna used Slash to destroy the stones!
Alder: Indeed. But Krokork still seems to have trouble finding an opening against an opponent like that.
In the stands, Cynthia looked at Niku and smiled with blush once again.
Cynthia: Niku...
Ash: Krokorok, use Dig!
Krokorok used Dig, digging deep underground. Niku looked at Ursuluna and both nodded.
Niku: Earth Power now!
Ursuluna slammed the ground with a paw and the earth erupted. With Krokorok underground it deals twice the damage. It crawled out and struggled to get out.
Ash: Krokorok, no!
Freddy: Ursuluna decided to use an ground type move while Krokorok used dig.
Alder: But with Earth Power it makes it hard to escape.
Iris: This is bad.
Dawn: Is Ash really gonna lose this?!
Pikachu: Pika Pi!
Krokorok struggled to see Ursuluna grinning at Krokorok and made a come at me gesture. Krokorok growled in anger?
Ash: Come on Krokorok, get up!
Krokorok still won't move from the pain but.
Niku: Stand Krokorok!!
Krokorok: Krok?
Niku: I expected more from you! Stand now and face your opponent! Become stronger than you are now!
Ash: Wait why is he...?
Ash wondered why Niku pushed Krokorok to stand but than saw him standing up.
Ash: No way?! Yes way to go Krokorok.
Krokoroks eyes glowed red and suddenly was surrounded by blue energy. The energy died down and showed Krookodile to take it's place.
Niku: Great. Just what I expected.
Ash: Wow that's awesome!
Cilan: Krokorok has just evolved into Krookodile!
Dawn: Krookodile huh?
Krookodile rushed in with new move Dragon Claw and hit Ursuluna and skidded back. Ursuluna looked at his trainer and nodded it's head.
Ursuluna: Urr.
Niku: Indeed. Not only did it evolve but learned a new move as well. That's better than what I expected. But this must end now. Charge in now!
Ursuluna ran to Krokorok ready for action.
Ash: Crunch let's go!
Krookodile charged with Crunch but when those two got close.
Niku: Stop now!
Ursuluna stopped suddenly and Krookodile bit Ursuluna hand and gritted it's teeth.
Ash: What why would he do that?!
Niku: Freeze it Ice Punch!
Krookodile was being encased with ice coming from the arm and was struggling to move.
Niku: Now throw it high!
Ursuluna threw Krookodile high as it was still stuck in ice.
Niku: Now finish with Blood Moon!
Ursuluna's move made a blast towards Krookodile in the air and made a huge blast and fell to the ground and fainted.
Ash: Krookodile, no!!
Referee: Krookodile is unable to battle! Ursuluna wins, which means Niku is victor!
Freddy: What a spectacular battle between those two grounds types. This was a great battle!
Alder: Yes, but Ursuluna brought made it interesting and even Krookodile evolving was what made these two great opponents for each other.
Ursuluna walked to it's trainer and Niku with Eevee were proud of him.
Niku: A job well done like always old friend.
Eevee: Eevee!
Ursuluna: Ur!
Niku: Now get some rest pal.
Niku returned Ursuluna and stared at Ash and walked away with Eevee outside the stadium.
Timeskip
After the match, Alder was gonna give Niku the trophy but Niku told him to give the trophy to Ash instead because he was only hear to battle to get stronger not to become the winner. So Niku left before he they could give the announcement to Ash.
Alder: Sorry everyone, but Niku has decided to give the trophy to Ash saying he deserved it. So Ashton, want to have a battle?
Ash: Hey Alder. Not now, we will battle just not now ok.
Alder: That's alright kid. Take the time you need.
Ash: Hey Pikachu, when we meet Niku again. We'll battle again soon right!
Pikachu: Pika.
Iris: Hey where did Niku go?
Dawn: He never showed up after the battle.
Alder: He left the moment the he told me to give you the trophy.
Cilan: Guess I can't blame him. Hey where did Cynthia go?
Everyone looked all over the place for Cynthia. She was nowhere in sight so they left to go outside. Niku was near end of the road when suddenly someone called for him.
??: Niku, wait!!
Niku stopped but didn't turn around cause he recognized that voice but Eevee looked behind her.
Eevee: Vee?
Niku: Hello Cynthia.
Niku looked behind to see Cynthia kneeling and out of breath and weeping and put a hand on her face.
Niku: Hey why the long face?
Cynthia looked up at Niku's face and hugged him.
Cynthia: Why did you leave suddenly?! I wanted to see you but left before I could have the chance to talk to you.
Niku: Sorry Cynthia, but I dont really like the attention and I dont care about the prize. This was just to get my pokemon stronger.
Cynthia: Wait what about the school?
Niku: Oh that. I already graduated and right now I'm traveling and learning about the regions of the world.
Cynthia: Like the Blood Moon Ursuluna?!
Niku: Exactly. I had Ursuluna longer than you think.
Cynthia: Really how long?
Niku: A story for another time. Right now, I gotta get going.
Cynthia: Really now?! But we just reunited after so long.
Niku: I know, but I have things to do. Places to be.
Niku walked ahead and but hugged him from behind.
Cynthia: Will I ever see you again.
Niku: Hmm.. One day.
Cynthia smiled and kissed Niku on the cheek and blushed and Cynthia giggled.
Cynthia: Eevee. Take good care of Niku.
Eevee: Eevee!
Niku: Looks like you got company.
Cynthia: Huh?
Ash and his friends along with Alder came to see Cynthia rushing over to Cynthia.
Ash: Cynthia there you!
Cynthia: Oh hello everyone.
Iris: Why were you out here?
Cynthia: Oh I was talking to Niku here and...
Cilan: Uh Cynthia there's nobody there.
Cynthia: Huh?
Cynthia turned around to see Niku has vanished and there nothing but a gust of wind.
Cynthia: How... How did he...?
Cynthia looked down and put a hand on her chest near her heart and smiled with tears.
Cynthia: One day Niku.
