Her eyes gazed upon the fields of aesthetic flowers organized based on their kinds.
Orbs gleaming in awe, she suddenly felt a thump on her chest. This caused her to turn her head towards her back only to meet a gorgeous teen smiling at her.
"Do you like it?" Fuji asked as he stepped beside her, his hair flying along with the chilly wind.
"I do, I really like it."
"Really? More than me?"
"N-no! Of course, I like you, Shuusuke. I mean-not as something, you know..."
Y/n answered him in fluster, shades of red dusted her cheeks. She admits the male standing beside her isn't a friend of hers anymore. Actually, he's someone that she really adores, someone she views romantically.
"Hehehe, I'm just teasing."
"Shuusuke..."
They met when both of them enrolled at the Seishun Academy. Eventually, both of them became close friends and while it progresses, she fell for him. Typical male and female best friends huh?
Yet how can she prevent it when he teases her whenever he cared for her too much? When he's gentle to her every time...
It can be as a sign of close friendship only but no matter what, no matter what she does, she loses it all and betrayed the friendship.

Y/n merely giggled, not knowing what to do as she might spill something that she'll regret eternally.

"Hm, but I want to buy some for you, as a remembrance I suppose."
"I really don't want our goodbyes to get emotional."
"Me too. So let's enjoy the day before I leave!" She beamed, Fuji's lips stretched in an endearing smile seeing her.

It ended with both of them strolling in the city, looking around for some stuff and eating.
She went home along with him since he insisted that he'll help her pack her things.
Y/n hastily shoved her clothes in the luggage. Things jumbled on the floor and her bed.
Fuji is organizing them one by one while she organizes the essentials. As soon as she finished packing, she sat down beside him.
He often talks a lot when he's with her, but the unusual thing is, he's quiet. Even his breathing was... dull.
"Shuusuke?"
"Hmm?"
"Um..."
"Oh. You'll take this with you?"
She looked at the plant encyclopedia he gave her on her birthday. It still looks new as if it was just bought by him yesterday. It was a gift from him after all, and she's willing to treasure it wholeheartedly.
"Yeah."
A lot of things were taken out earlier. That's why Fuji can determine stuff that is special to her whereas it is evident that they are hidden well and carefully cherished. Most of them are gifts from her close friends and such.
"Is this my grip tape?"
"Yes. I was planning to give it back to you though. But I never got the chance because you were out for the U-17 world cup back then. However, when you came back, I forgot about it."
Y/n took the grip tape and gave it to him, "Here. Sorry for returning it just now."
He accepted it but he doesn't know what to say next if he'll just give it to her as a memento or he'll use it so he can remember her.
"That's...us?"
"Hehe, yeah."
She took the frame sitting in her drawer, showing it to him with sadness in her smile.
A picture he took when both of them are first year to their third year.
"You know, Y/n?"
"Yes?"
"I really love taking pictures of you."
"Eh?!"
"Hehehe, seriously. You can be my model."
She was about to shout his name again but the sudden burst out of the rain peek her attention.
'It's raining.'
"Y/n?"
"Hm?"
He took her small hand and smiled, dragging her out of the room.
"Hey, where are we going?"
"You like the rain, right?"
She hummed in response and that made him smile wider.
The brunette finally took them both outside in her yard. Their hair and clothes started to get wet and she started to shiver in the coldness of the night and rain.
"Shuusuke, we might get sick."
"Trust me."
Fuji pulled her close, placing his hands on her waist and taking her hand. She blinked many times and hinted that he is serious about what he is planning right now.
He started to move while staring at her face. Their whole body began to get soaked by the rain yet nonetheless they continued dancing in the middle of the rain.
Y/n can't explain what she is feeling right now, she's happy but sad. Before she knew it, her tears is now cascading down on her cheeks along with the continuous droplets of the rain sliding down her face.
"Shuusuke..."
Her voice cracked as she mentioned his name. She knew already that she can't leave without crying, realizing that she'll go without the boy she loved for years.
"Tell me, Y/n."
Dancing in the rain sure makes things more romantic but why are they being emotional?
"Do you love me?"
He always believed she love him, because he love her also. That's why he'll do everything for her, as long as she's with him.
"I do, I love you so much Shuusuke."
"That's good to hear."
Hearing that answer from her is relieving. Finally having confidence, Fuji embraced her trembling body as he perceives her cries.
Audible sobs can be heard despite the rain. He swayed gently and pressed a chaste kiss on her forehead, staring at her eyes afterward.
Y/n always thought that his eyes is enchanting, even when he plays tennis. His inestimable talent is one of the reasons she loved him.
But will she be able to meet him again in the future? It's still vague.
"Y/n, I will wait for you and when you did come back, let's be together forever."
