Kyra's POV
I nervously sat in my car looking at the club entrance
I should have never agreed to any of this.
"This is stupid",I cursed
I'm not sure how long I can pretend that everything is fine.
What if they figure it out?
Maybe I should just stop covering the truth
Because what damage could it cause if they knew?
I let go of all these thoughts as I called my dad but it just went to his voicemail
"Hey Dad,It's Kyra.I've called to let you know that I've reached the destination."
"Will call you back when I leave.Love ya"
I grabbed the flowers that Dad got for me to give to Neha.
I tried to make him understand this isn't a formal party to do these gestures.
But it was useless arguing with him
I stared at the bouquet.
Roses.....my favourite flower
But I couldn't find a sensation that I knew it should be there
"It's time,mam",the driver called gaining my attention
"I can do this",I hyped myself up, taking a deep breath
Entering,the loud club random teenager grooving to the music was the sight that welcomed me
The room seemed to be pumped with people.
In my terms,it wasn't very comfortable
But it was nothing worth complaining about
I scanned the environment in hopes of finding a familiar face
"There you are!!!I thought you wouldn't show up",Aditi shouted walking towards me
"All these people are our classmates so feel free to talk to anyone",she said casually
Thanks.That's the thing I'm most scared of
"I'll give it a try",I replied forcing a smile
"I'll just grab my idiot friend.Just wait here"
Before I could stop her,she took her leave
Guess it's just me.I sighed
I wandered around on my own when a familiar song made me turn around to the dance floor
As the dancing crowd parted a bit,my attention was captivated by a guy dancing amidst them
His figure was partially obscured in the mesmerizing soft blue lights
Something about him felt different and intriguing to me in an unexplainable way
As I moved closer to the dancefloor,I got a better view of his striking appearance.
His toned body was complemented by the light blue denim jacket he wore over a white tee
"Infectiously warm and beautiful"—that's how I could describe his smile
It was like he was lost in the rhythm,unaffected by the bustling crowd around him
His gaze was in my direction without any warning, making me freeze in my spot
My heart skipped a beat as the music faded like it never existed.
His eyes had a intrigued glint while his lips parted and that smile was missing
"Did I do anything wrong to take that smile away?"
Clearing my doubts,he flashed a more radiant smile in my direction making curiosity spark through me
I stood gazing at him when I heard someone scream something incoherent.
In a flash,I noticed Aditi run past me to the guy I was starting at
She jumped on him,going for a bone crushing hug
He was smiling at her.
I felt foolish for letting my thoughts run wild
He was still holding on to her as he whispered something against her ear and walked away
"Are you enjoying the party??", Neha questioned breaking my intense gazing
"Me??..... Absolutely",I lied
I'm just standing here alone,not knowing how to strike a conversation with my peers
"Chill.... Just introduce yourself",she replied as she grabbed my wrist, walking us towards the bar
I noticed Aditi sitting with a different guy from before
"Omg!!!I forgot about you Kyra!!!",Aditi squealed in a drunken tone
The other guy's head shot towards me as soon as my name left Aditi's mouth.
He eyed me with frown
"What's wrong?",I asked confused
"Nothing...You look different from before",the guy said hesitantly
"You know me?",I squealed surprised as the group shot me a puzzled look
But he saved me from the aftermath with his response
"Kinda,but you don't know me",the guy replied laughing
"You were a popular person Kyra.It's a surprise if anyone doesn't know you",he added with a smile
"Is that a compliment?",I asked playfully
"I'm Vivan Sharma.Aditi's punchbag whenever her mood's off",the guy joked as Aditi shot a glare at him
"That's a great introduction",I laughed
The rest of the night went well as I managed to get along with some people.
I spotted the mysterious stranger a few times, chatting and laughing with some other people
But not once his gaze fell on me

Vivan's POV
Never imagined this party would be this wild.
I was surprised when Aditi managed to convince Rishi
And even more surprised when he was actually enjoying the party, slipping to his old self
And don't get me started on Kyra
After a while of the gang just chatting around,Kyra was the first one to leave–citing reasons that her parents have strict curfew for her
Seems reasonable
"Did you just look at him?",Dee spoke in a dreamy voice
"Who?",I asked completely clueless
"Sanjay......Sanjay Khanna",she replied after a good while of dreamy pause
Her gaze was fixated at the group of dancing seniors
"Why would I look at him?You know I'm not....",I replied teasingly as she hit my stomach
"Go to hell",she cursed as I giggled
"Is it what I'm thinking it is??",I gasped dramatically as I stood up
"What!?",Aditi asked crinkling her eyes
"Ms.Aditi Desai.....Do you have a soul crushing romantic thing for San...",I shouted
But she shut me down by placing her hands on my mouth
"No I don't!!!I was just looking at the hot stuff in the party.I'm tired of looking at the one near me",she said rolling her eyes
"What's going on?",Rishi asked spotting us in the weird angle
"The usual....",Aditi spoke but halted when she heard someone speaking
"Aren't they a cute couple?",a girl awwed at us
Us? Really?
"We're not a couple!!!",we yelled in unison
Rishi couldn't hold it anymore as he burst out laughing
Aditi straight out slammed his head twice—one on my behalf
"Okay...Okay...Sorry",he replied still laughing
"You guys fight more than a married couple that people get confused",he stated
"That's bullshit",I defended
I admit we fight a lot,but comparison with a married couple is an exaggeration
"You guys are a pain to deal with.I'll grab another drink",Aditi said as she walked towards the bar
"Don't get too drunk....",Rishi warned being the mom of the group
Looking at him,my mind came back to the original issue
"Wait!!!!I need to tell you something but I don't know how to tell ya"
I grabbed his arm letting out all the panic I've been holding
"I know....."he answered causally
"You do?So...what are you gonna do?"
"Do what I always did,Viv",he stared off into the distance
This is what he does, never letting anyone see through him.
He makes everyone believe what he wants them to
"You don't worry.I've got it all under control",he added,giving me a reassuring smile
The thing is I knew him well enough to know he how much control he has when it comes to this
And that's why I'm worried
Aditi's voice echoed through the club gaining everybody's attention.
She stood on the top of the table, staggering back and forth
"This is for my besties Viv and Ri", Aditi screamed,taking shots
Rishi and I looked at each other with wide eyes.
We got on our feet rushing towards her
This is both embarrassing and hilarious at the same time
"Deee!!",I yelled trying to get her off the table
"This is the best part,Viv",she blabbered as she wrapped her arms around my neck
"Let's just get home before we have more audience", Rishi advised scanning around
"The best part?Damn it.I have to do this all the time",I complained
I had lifted her, walking towards the car,while she passed out
