"Where's the big guy?" Stiles panted as They hid out in another hospital room.
"He's close," Derek muttered looking around frantically
"What about Ms Blake? What does that mean? Like, she's gone? Scott, are you kidding me?"
"Shh, quiet." Derek hissed
Stiles eyes glazed over in rage, "I be quiet? Me, huh? Are you telling me what to do now? When your psychotic, mass murder girlfriend... the second one you've dated, by the way... has got my dad somewhere, tied up, waiting to be ritually sacrificed?"
"Ok stop enough!" Yelena yelled moving between her brother and ex-boyfriend, before quietly muttering to Stiles, "You meant Kate and not me right?"
Stiles glared at her as she shrunk back nervously.
"Stiles, they're still out there," Scott warned
"And... and they want her, right? Which means now we don't have her either, so my dad and Cora are both dead!" Stiles yelled emphasising Cora's name when speaking to Derek
"Not yet," Scott said as Yelena tried to put distance between Stiles and her ex.
Scott and Peter were muttering to each other before they all froze at the sound of the door opening
"I can save her, and I can tell you where Sheriff Stilinski is. But there is a pack of alphas in this hospital who want me dead. So I'll help you... but only when I'm out of here and safe. Only then."
Derek knocked over one of the trays as he lunged at Jenifer with Scott quickly restraining him.
"Derek, wait!"
Derek ignored him as he pointed at her in anger "She was trying to get out!" He yelled
"I was trying to keep from getting killed. You can't blame me for that." She argued.
"If you want to show you're one of the good guys, then heal her," Stiles told her gesturing to Cora
Jennifer shook her head, "Not until I'm safe."
"I'd like to volunteer a different method of persuasion. Let's torture her." Peter spoke up
Yelena nodded and put her hand in the air, "I'm down for that."
"Works for me," Derek growled in agreement whilst still being held back by Scott
All of a sudden Scott's mom's voice came through the announcer, "Um, can I have your attention? Mr Deucalion... excuse me, just Deucalion... Requests you bring the woman calling herself Jennifer Blake to the E.R. reception. Do this, and everyone else can leave. You have ten minutes." She said her voice shaking, clearly scared.
"He's not gonna hurt her," Jenifer told Scott who had gone pale.
"Shut up." Derek snapped at her
"He won't!" She exclaimed, "Scott, you know why. Tell them it's true."
Derek frowned and looked at Scott "What does she mean?"
Jennifer rolled her eyes and huffed in annoyance when Scott stayed quiet, "You're not the only one he wants in his pack. Deucalion doesn't just want an Alpha pack. He wants perfection. That means adding the rarest of alphas to his ranks."
"A true Alpha," Peter muttered eyeing Scott
"What's that?" Stiles asked
"The kind that doesn't have to steal his power from another. One that can rise by the force of his own will. Our little Scott." Peter explained
"It doesn't matter. We still need to get her out of here." Scott told them
"Scott, your mom..." stiles began
"My mom said there's one more ambulance coming in 20 minutes. And I don't think we've been here that long, so if we can get down to the garage, get to the last ambulance, we can get out of here."
Yelena crossed her arms, "Pea brain one and two aren't just gonna let us walk out of here, especially with this bitc-"
"I'll distract them," Scott answered, not allowing Yelena to finish her sentence
"You mean fight them," Derek said
Scott nodded, "Whatever I have to do."
"I'll help you," Derek told him
"Um, sorry, but I'm not going anywhere without you, Derek," Jenifer spoke up
Yelena rolled her eyes at her, "Where were we with that whole torture thing again."
Jenifer sent her a sarcastic smile.
"I'll do it." Peter offered, "But I'd prefer to be out there with an advantage."
"An advantage like what? You mean like a weapon?" Stiles asked
"Something better than a baseball bat." he quipped back.
Scott, Peter, Derek, Stiles, and Yelena searched the room for various medical supplies that could help give Peter an advantage.
"Hey, wait. What about these?" Stiles said holding up a defibrillator
"Do you know how to use those?" Derek asked him with an arched eyebrow.
"Well, no."
"Put 'em down," Derek told him
"Epinephrine?" Scott read out as he found a syringe
Derek shook his head, "That's only gonna make him stronger."
Peter looked over at the injection Scott was holding, "How strong?"
Yelena grabbed the injection from Scott not wanting to waste any more time and went over to Peter to plunge it into his chest. Peter winced at her in pain at her sudden action, his eyes flashing at her, making Derek and Scott rush forward in case he attacked her out of instinct but she smiled at him smugly and patted his shoulder.
"Go get 'em."
Eyeing the needle that was still in his chest Peter nodded to himself, "Ok, Scott?"
Scott nodded as the pair of them ran out to face Aiden and Ethan. Derek quickly slung Cora over his shoulder as the rest of them headed out to the garage where the ambulance would be
"It's still here!" Stiles exclaimed as he and Yelena went to open the door so that Derek could put Cora safely in the back
"Derek, over here," Jenifer called out as the others got Cora onto the gurney in the ambulance.
Yelena got out to see what was happening where she saw the dead ambulance driver mauled onto the ground. She slowly took a few quiet steps back and turned to Stiles, quietly shutting the door.
"What are you doing?" Stiles hissed.
"If I'm not back in 10 minutes and you can find a way to drive her out of here then do it ok? With or without any of us, you go ok?" She whispered
"What?" Stiles whispered back in panic but Yelena looked at him sincerely before her head snapping up when she heard Kali's voice. She had a feeling she was about to do a lot of running.
"Just trust me." She pleaded closing the ambulance door
"You can't beat her on your own," Jenifer murmured
Derek glanced at Yelena who nodded towards the hospital. Derek nodded in response and began to back away with Jenifer and Yelena behind him.
"That's why we're gonna run." He said as the three of them sprinted back inside
"Wait, wait! The elevator!" Jenifer suggested.
Derek pushed a gurney towards Kali as the three of them got in the elevator only narrowly missing Kali's attack. The elevator had only just started moving when it quickly came to a stop with the lights going off and going into the emergency ones like the power had been cut. They were stuck, the three of them were stuck.
"Service hatch is bolted from the outside," Yelena told Derek when she saw him messing with it
"She's right. All you'd end up doing is creating a lot of noise, telling them exactly where we are."
Yelena gritted her teeth together hoping that the others could get them out soon as possible whilst she leaned against the wall.
"Kali already knows," Derek reminded them
Jennifer shook her head "Not necessarily. She saw that we got in, but she might not know that we didn't get out."
"Yeah, well, if I get through, then we can go to another floor." Derek pointed out
"Or you'd end up fighting them alone in an elevator shaft. They'll rip my head off before you even have a chance to land a punch."
"I'm ok with that..." Yelena muttered under her breath, even though she was still aware that she needed her alive
"Then someone needs to get the backup generator running again."
Yelena pulled out her phone and sent a message to Scott. After a few minutes of silence, Jenifer decided to start speaking again.
"Derek, I know what you're thinking... that I'm using you, that everything that has happened between us is a lie, or that I'm evil. A bitch."
"Oh god kill me now." Yelena moaned as she ran her hand over her face, listening to the sound of Jenifer trying to tell Derek their relationship was real.
Jenifer ignored her and continued "But I hope you're not thinking the most superficial thought... "Is that her real face?" "The slashed, mutilated face revealed by the mistletoe... Is that what she really looks like?" Julia Baccari. That was my name."
"I don't care," Derek said flatly
"I guess I should have changed it to something with different first letters. I think I read somewhere that people always pick aliases that are subconsciously derivative of their original name. It's a way of not completely letting go of your identity since your name is so tied to your sense of self. Do you know what else is? Your face. The one that's supposed to be staring back at you in the mirror. Not some hacked-up atrocity you can't even recognize."
"I still don't care," Derek said again in the same tone
"But I bet you're curious. I bet you wonder exactly what happened."
Derek sighed at her "You were an emissary. They tried killing you along with the rest of the pack. Mystery solved.
"I was Kali's emissary. And I was the one she couldn't kill."
Jenifer went off into a story about what happened to her and how Derek killing Paige gave her power and blah blah blah. The more she spoke the more irritated Yelena became until she eventually snapped and interrupted her
"Ok, you know what clearly you have some type of form or reverse form of Stockholm syndrome, with, you know, Derek unknowingly saving your life and all, but it's all very creepy rather than touching."
Derek listened to Yelena knowing that she was right and that whatever Jenifer was saying about Paige and herself was just a form of manipulation. Both continued to unwillingly listen to Jenifer as she began saying that dereks not innocent and that's the reason that his eyes are different, in the end, Yelena shoved Derek behind her trying to tune out Jenifer, not that it helped much but it did make Derek want to reassure Yelena that he wasn't listening as he tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and nodded at her that they were on the same side.
After a while Yelena's phone finally buzzed and she let out a sigh as she passed her phone to Derek to read the others' plan, he rubbed his forehead tiredly, "You sure?" He muttered
Yelena exhaled deeply in resignation and turned to face Jenifer, "What size shoe do you wear?"
"What?" She frowned as Yelena stared at her feet
Yelena ignored her, "Yeah, they'll fit. Give me your shoes, jacket as well."
Derek crossed his arms and nodded at Jenifer to hand them over, she hesitantly did so as Yelena held onto Derek's arm to balance as she switched her own shoes.
"Are these really the best shoes to wear for sacrificing people?" Yelena asked sarcastically whilst shrugging on Jennifer's jacket and Derek opening up the elevator doors for her.
"What are you doing they'll hear us?" Jenifer hissed
They both ignored her as Derek gave Yelena a boost up.
"You sure about this?" He asked again nervously
Yelena gave him a reassuring smile "You're looking at the fastest cross-country runner Beacon Hills has ever had."
Derek smiled "Thought that doesn't work against werewolves."
"I guess now will be the time to test that theory."
Jenifer rolled her eyes at them as Derek told her to be careful, she nodded and set off. Running through the corridors and trying to make as much noise as possible so that the twins would follow her. Yelena ran through the double doors as she heard glass smashing above her, and Kali diving out of the upstairs windows.
"Allison!" Yelena shouted as she crouched down and let Allison shoot at Kali and the twins. Slowly standing up she caught the gun that mr, argent threw her
"You got this?" He shouted over the gunshots
"My dad's the sheriff, I've been going to the shooting range for as long as I can remember." She told him as she started shooting at the twins, ignoring the dull ache as she thought about her dad and was scared in case she'd already killed him.
