He couldn’t help but look at the new silver ring on his finger, a smile fell on his face knowing that Tech had chosen it. His twin knew one thing and that was rings or more in fact Tech had crafted the ring with Echo, it was a Tungsten Ring with Abalone Inlay, the cyan blue stood out amongst the silver in a wavy pattern. To think a week ago, Crosshair was ready to throw his world away and leave a relationship he desperately wanted but now he could only smile sitting on a nearby sofa holding Casey in his arms while watching Hunter, Omega, Fives and Amber dance across the dancefloor to a slow song.
Gurgling turned his attention to his youngest, Casey was pulling a face that had him sighing. He grabbed the baby bag and left the room under the watchful eyes of many, yep he was on the list, his dad’s list or more like everyone’s. Yep, do one stupid thing and everyone thinks you are going to drop dead when they're not looking.
It had been agreed by the three that they got married, it was a private ceremony filled with few family members and soon the three found themselves a week later having a party so more people could attend and just have a reason to celebrate. Even Rex and Cody were in the same room, the two bonding over something while Ahsoka and Sheila were there celebrating in their own way. Only a few couldn’t make it but it wasn’t like it affected them. However, one absence in particular had a set of twins worried.
“Papi? Where’s Paps?”
Jesse looked down at Amber who was only asking for Kix, the swat officer could only kneel down and whisper words that he had been repeating all night.
“Paps has gone for a lie down. He isn’t feeling too well, so he has gone to sleep in hopes to get better” Jesse said with a smile, Amber could only grin and run back to join Omega and Hera on the dance floor beside a smirking Fives who was snapping pictures of his ‘girls’, yep he was officially apart of them.
“So, how does it feel to be married to two people?” Wrecker slung an arm around Hunter while being intoxicated, Rose only laughed at her boyfriend.
“Not any different than being a relationship Wreck. Now tell me how many drinks have you had?” Hunter turned to his slightly younger brother who only gave him a goofy smile before a song started which had him wanting to dance and sadly Fives was the one to be chosen as his partner while doing the ‘macarena’, the man just laughed it off while gesturing for someone to swap Wrecker’s drinks with water.
“Hey Tech, have you seen Tris?” Hunter turned to the twin of his lover, Tech looked around the room noticing the twins were missing as was Casey.
“I think he’s upstairs putting the kids to sleep” Tech said with a smile, Echo grinned and then pointed to the doorway where a certain silver-haired man walked into the room accompanied by none other than Kix, the medic was looking very tired but had decided to come down and say ‘hi’ plus on top of that to calm down Jesse’s worry level. The two of them looked exhausted but put fake smiles on their faces which could clearly be seen as fake but the remaining kids never noticed especially since Omega was hugging Crosshairs neck, the man grinning at whatever she was saying.
“Attention! Attention! I want to say something about my brother and…” Wrecker’s drunk tone caught all attention as the bigger man stood holding a mic and wearing a goofy smile.
“Oh no” Hunter rubbed his nose knowing Wrecker was going to do or say something embarrassing.
“Wreck, I think you should put the mic down” Hunter tried to take the microphone from his brother who just stumbled into the middle of the dancefloor catching all attention leaving Hunter huffing but he wasn’t for long as three young teenagers took to the stage making them all smile.
“Now Hunter wasn’t always an innocent child…”
“Okay, you have had enough. Wrecker Dawson, if you don’t put that mic down now. You will be sleeping in the shed for eternity” Rose put her foot down making the bigger man drop the mic into his girlfriend's hand and take a seat. Rose only passed the microphone back to Gregor who nodded in thanks as Omega took the mic.
“All my life, I have known love from many people. But there was one love I had been missing my whole life and that came in the form of my mother who was sadly kept out of my life but somehow he came back. You saved many of us by sharing your love with us which is why we wanted to share a song with you, one that has inspired us as a family. Especially since you made father happy, something I had wished for a long time was for him to smile without hiding behind the curtains. Father this is dedicated to you for everything you have done for me and mother” Omega said with a smile, passing the microphone to Hera who looked straight at her parents.
“Crosshair without your help, I wouldn’t be here and in a happy place with my now loving parents. My days would have been lonely but thankfully you picked me up and gave me a family in the form of my parents, this song is dedicated to my dad and father” Hera said with a smile, she passed the microphone over to Amber who wore one of her cheeky smiles. Tech and Echo found themselves sitting forward in their seats as Amber moved to stand in front of her own parents.
“The words to the song are words full of meaning, all through my life you were there for me Papa, you saved me from the bad demons and even caught the monsters under the bed, you were there for me when mother and dad were arguing even when it didn’t work out with dad. You came back which is why this song has been adapted to show our love for you all” Amber grinned passing the microphone to Omega who smiled and nodded at Gregor to start the song. Crosshair only grinned sharing a smile with Thorn who leaned into him slightly, they fist bumped knowing their plan had worked. The two were quite surprised when the three girls asked Gregor the question about a surprise for their parents at the wedding party, of course the two agreed and Thorn set up a meeting with his partner and the three kids.

Omega smiled, blowing a kiss towards Hunter who only wrapped his arms around Fives as they stood watching their children.
Omega - “In all of my lonely nights when I was a ghost inside. You were there for me. You were there for me”
Hera - “Legend Never Lies, we were meant to be. I’m blessed to be alive when I’m in your company”
Amber - “The battles you would fight, blood that you would bleed, if you found danger. Memories we made could fill a whole book, if we were a movie, we’d been in Hollywood”
Omega - “On my lowest days, you were all it took. My biggest saviour” her eyes connected directly with Hunter’s as she took a step forward towards him. Hunter kneeled down showing nothing but pride in his features.
Hera - “You make my demons go away, Bleach the sky on rainy days”
Echo and Tech grinned as she stood directly in front of them and reached for their hands while Amber made her way over to Rex, Ahsoka and Fives.
Amber - “Clear the path when I’m afraid. I’ve lost my way”. Her eyes connected with each of her parents who wore proud smiles and had tears in their eyes.
Rose couldn’t help but take a few videos knowing that the girls had been preparing for this for a long time.
Omega - “In all of my lonely nights, when I was a ghost inside. You were there for me”
Hera - “You were there for me”
Amber - “Whenever I was trapped behind my demons, you were there for me”
Omega - “Whenever my eyes cried floods, You were there for me”
Hera - “You were there, you were there when I lost faith. Be aware, be aware we would do the same”
Amber could only grin as she sang the last part - “You were there for me”
Silence filled the room only to erupt into cheers as the three girls were pulled into soul crushing hugs, Hunter pulled Omega close while Fives wrapped up Amber leaving Echo and Tech to hug their daughter, Hera grinned up at them. Another individual watched from the doorway before they slipped from the room just as a bouncing song came on and everyone moved to the dancefloor, all but a few denied the invitation.
“Are you not staying? It’s your party too”
Turning around, Crosshair was in shock seeing an old friend, one he had forgotten about.
“I could say the same about you” Crosshair teased, only for hands to wrap around him and pull him in a tight hug.
“Well you know me Tris, parties aren’t my thing but I am thankful for the invitation. You deserve happiness, I’m glad you have found it. But to think you should have accepted my proposal all them years ago”
“To say I have missed you would be a lie” Crosshair teased back in the same tone as the older woman pulled away from him.
“See you around Tris”
“Always” Crosshair could only watch as a good friend of his left without looking back, he couldn't help but grin watching the older woman climb on an expensive motorbike. She was like an older sister, almost mother to him when she was around.
“Is she gone?”
Crosshair whipped around to see a smirking Cody, the older man moved over to his baby brother's side.
“Yep, River doesn’t like to stick around for goodbyes” Crosshair whipped around to look at his brother who smirked before he pulled Crosshair into a hug.
“I’m proud of you ad’ika, even if I’m not around as often. I love you kid” Cody kissed his forehead before he walked backwards bypassing two worried individuals who nodded at their lover’s older brother.
“Now, what are you doing out here?” Hunter’s voice carried over the silence to where Crosshair was leaning against a balcony staring at the stars above. They were currently at Wolffe’s house that had been done up and the children were asleep well almost, the teenagers were still hyper in the main room.
“Thinking” His answer was nothing but short and blunt.
“That’s dangerous, maybe you should find a less dangerous hobby” Fives teased, appearing on his other side only to be shoved in the side. Hunter smiled, wrapping an arm around their husband’s waist, Fives mirrored him on the other side.
“What about?” Hunter asked, his interest perking up.
Crosshair only sighed, “The next few years” his words were quick and straight to the point. Fives and Hunter automatically tightened their grips.
“Anything specific?” Fives pressed kissing Crosshairs cheek while sharing a ‘look’ with Hunter who pushed to have Crosshair in between their bodies, the younger man complied for the time being as he held tightly to the pair of arms around him.
“I just want you two to promise me something”
“What is it?” Fives asked, Hunter smiled knowing the man wasn’t entirely patient.
“You know you can ask anything, Tris” Hunter’s whisper had him smiling.
“Promise me that even after my death, you won’t abandon each other or the kids”
His words brought silence leaving Crosshair to extract himself from his two husbands who shared a ghostly look before they nodded. But, before they could give their answer Crosshair had vanished and so had most of the party as the girls were being directed up the stairs to their bedrooms.
“Let’s go find him” Fives said in determination, Hunter nodded as they bypassed the main room with the intention to clean it up when Wolffe waved them up as he called in a cleaning crew to come in the morning which they didn’t mind paying the bill for or Kix did since Wolffe was being stubborn.
It took them a good thirty minutes to tuck their children in, say their goodnights and find their room which was opposite the younger children consisting of Naomi, Colton and Casey. The two entered the room only to find their sleeping husband tucked up in the middle of the bed almost like he knew where to sleep. Within a few minutes Hunter and Fives were sorted and ready for bed, the two moved into the ensuite to do their business when they saw a letter directed at them. Gasps of pure disbelief fell over their features as they read the words over and over again.
“It is with my deepest apologies that your body has given up on fighting your Terminal Cancer and we now know we have failed you which is why we want to offer you something that has never been given out before. Please see your email for the details but we must apologise for failing you, even if you have become one of our youngest patients. Tristan Miles-Dawson, it is with our deepest regrets that we estimate you to live for up to the rest of your life... .I'm sorry I couldn’t help it, I just had too, Tristan you are cured. Somehow the experimental treatment worked, your cells are regrowing back and what’s even better is that with the continued growth, your body will begin to refix itself. Congrats on your marriage by the way - your favourite squad medic, Corey out”
“What! He’s cured?!” Fives exclaimed running out of the ensuite only to see a grinning Crosshair sitting up in the bed.
“When did you find out?” Hunter turned to their lover who smirked.
“This morning after a few tests” Crosshair whispered only for his lovers to join him on the bed.
“This calls for a celebration” Fives grinned as he was pulled down into a desperate kiss by Hunter, Crosshair smirked at the two of them.
“I’m not fully cured but we need to wait to see how my body reacts without the treatment and the cells will be a problem and…mmph”
Crosshair was interrupted by a pair of soft lips kissing his lips while another bit into his neck earning them an almost scream of pleasure. There was a reason why Wolffe gave them that room, the children’s room was also sound-proof as was their own. The baby monitor was shared between the three and Kix. It would seem for the night, it was just the three of them, a moment they hardly ever got was to hold each other close in love. Yes they had booked a honeymoon period but that wasn't for a week or two as they wanted to wait until Omega and the older ones were back at school. Making it slightly easier for them.
