y/n pov
"ow!" ron yelled. we all looked over at him
"what" I asked
"he bit me," he said as we saw scabbers running through the grass. ron went to run after him and I quickly followed after him
"ron!" I yelled as he ran after Scabbers. we made it a far distance before he finally grabbed him but I stopped a good distance away from him. I looked up and saw the whopping willow. I froze.
"ron look out!" Harry yelled next to me when he saw the tree.
"y/n harry Hermione run," he said back pointing to something. we turned around and saw a black dog. it started running towards us. I ducked before it jumped over. it grabbed rons ankle and started to pull him into the tree
"ron!" I yelled. I quickly ran over and jumped into the tree turning into my animals after being sure Harry and Hermione wouldn't see it. I landed poorly on my side and heard something crack. I let out a cry of pain before only seeing darkness.

"did you miss me that much snape that you bought a dog that looked like me?" I heard someone say as I woke up. I felt a tight hand on the back of my neck. I looked down and saw I was above the ground and that I was still in my animus form.
"This dog isn't mine" Snape spat. "I believe it's yours"
"what? I don't own d-"
"put her down," Remus said.
"what" the other man said. I looked and realized it was dad
"I'm not afraid to hex her," Snape said putting his hand to my head.
"Severus. put. her. down." he said "Very carefully I might add"
I looked at the wand in Sevurus hand. I quickly bit it and turned into my human form. I grabbed his wand.
"stupify," I said sending him flying backwards. pain shot through my leg and arm and I felt Remus catch me. I saw Harry looking at me. his features turned confused. he then looked over at Sirius.
"Tell me about Peter," he said as Remus helped me to the wall.
"he was at school with us. we thought he was our friend" Dad said hastily.
"no Pettigrew's dead. you killed him"
"no he didn't," Remus said looking over at me. "I thought so too until you showed me his name on the map"
"the map was lying then"
"the map never lies" me and dad said together
"Pettigrew alive and he's right there," Dad said pointing at ron
"me?! he's mental" ron said
"not you. your rat!"
"scabbars has been in my family for-"
"Twelve years! a particular amount of time for a rat to live, isn't it? He's missing a toe isn't he?"
"so what" ron asked
"All they could ever find of Peter" Harry started
"was his finger!" Dad said "Dirty coward cut it off so everyone would think he was dead and then he transformed into a rat"
"show me," Harry said
"give it to him ron," I said "Please."
"what are you going to do to him" ron asked as Dad tried to take it from him
"ron!" I yelled
"leave him alone! let go of him" he yelled as Sirius held it. then he went to show that he was an animangus when Peter jumped out of his hands. I quickly grabbed my actual wand from my back pocket and cast the spell onto Peter right as he was about to escape through a hole. he got stuck and Dad and Remus pulled him and threw him into the middle of the room.
"Remus! Sirius! My old friends" Peter said. I scoffed in the background and he looked at me before walking over to me.
"y/n you look much like your mother and father"
"Get away from me you backstabbing rat" I spat. he looked at me shocked before backing up a little and going over to Harry
"And Harry you look so much like James"
"get away from him" me and dad yelled
"How dare you speak of James in front of him. you sold them out!" Dad yelled as he pulled
"I didn't mean to," Peter said "You have no idea what weapons the dark lord possesses," he said running behind the piano with Dad and Moony on either side. "ask yourself, Sirius. what would you have done"
"died rather than betray my friends"
Peter yelped before crawling over to Harry and grabbing his shirt.
"James wouldn't have wanted me killed. he would've shown me mercy" Then Remus and Dad pulled Peter away. Then Peter broke free and went to me. "Celeste would have sav-"
"don't talk about my mother," I said through gritted teeth. "her name should not roll off your tongue so easily" Dad pulled him back again to the piano, and Remus and him pointed their wands at him.
"should've realized if Voldemort didn't kill you we would together," Dad said
"no!" Harry said. Remus tensed up and looked at him
"Harry this man"
"I know what he is. well take him back to the castle," he said walking closer.
"bless you bless you," Peter said crawling towards him and grabbing onto his leg
"get off," Harry said kicking him. "I said well take you back to the castle. after that, the dementors can have you"
Remus went to go grab Peter and Sirius looked over to me with a smile.
"hey pup," he said quietly. a smile grew on my face. he walked over to me and pulled me into a hug.
"hi Dad" I whispered. "I tried to tell him"
"Who?"
"moony"
"What?"
"that you didn't do it"
"and how did you know" I looked up at him
"I remember it all"
"...what!?"
"I can remember every second of that night. the screams the crying the pain all of it."
he pulled me into a tighter hug.
"I'm sorry pup. I shouldn't have left you there"
"I'm ok now" I whispered. he sighed a little. he looked back at me and then his eyes landed on my scars. after I transformed my scars from the night appeared and I just remembered. I looked over at Harry who was looking at me in shock.
"Are these from the night?" Dad asked softly. I nodded. "and these," he asked looking at the one on my neck"
"full moon" I mumbled. he looked over at Remus
"she'll explain on the way up. let's go"
Dad finally let go of me and went to help ron. Harry looked over at me and I looked away. he walked over and I felt his arms around me pulling me into his chest. he held onto me tightly.
"why didn't you tell me?" he whispered
"scared you'd be mad at me" I whispered back
"You're right I probably would've been" he whispered with a small laugh. "but I don't think I would've stayed mad at you long. it's hard to ever be mad at you" I laughed a little at this one. "so you finally going to tell us why you get more scars every month" he said as we pulled away. I laughed again.
"yeah," I whispered. I went to take a step when I felt pain shoot through my leg. I stumbled forward and he caught me
"come on"
we started walking up.
"so explain why my daughter is an animangus" Dad said
"I'll have her say," Moony said
"come on moony" I groaned.
"say it"
"fine, I was six and found a book in moonys office. it has scribbles on the side about plans to go to the shrieking shack and help Moony. so I found the page that told me how to do what they did to help and followed the instructions"
"and tell him how you got the items for this project"
"there was a box with them," I said trying to hide a smile "Label stuff for Moony's transformation"
"I left that box at the apartment didn't I," Dad asked
"why'd you keep the stuff," Moony asked
"just in case. continue pup"
"well I did what it told me to and a month later I was an animangus for his birthday," I said
"that's when she was quiet from that night and I didn't notice her not talking for a month" Moony grumbled. I giggled a little.
"Sorry about the bite. I reckon it twinges a bit" Dad said. I stifled a laugh
"a bit! a bit! you almost bit my leg off"
"I'm my defense I was going for the rat," he said back "Normally I have a sweet disposition as a dog. more than once both James and Celest said I should make the change permanent. the tail I could live with but the fleas are murder.
we made it up to the top of the tree and Dad and Harry placed ron down. Dad walked towards the school and Hermione looked at me and nodded towards him. I smiled and walked over. he looked over and wrapped his arm around my shoulder. he kissed the top of my head.
"I missed you" I whispered.
"I missed you too pup," he said rubbing my shoulder. he looked down at me. "I see you got my jacket. fits you well"
"moony gave it to me before we came to school"
he laughed a little "I see you also have inherited my troublemaking?"
I smiled a little
"maybe a tad" he chuckled a little before we heard Harry walk up.
"it's beautiful isn't it" Dad asked "I'll never forget the first time I walked through those doors. It'll be nice to do it as a free man once again" he paused and looked at the two of us. "that was a noble thing you did back there. he didn't deserve it"
"I would've let him die" I whispered
"that's cuz you're like me," Dad said nudging me
"I didn't think my dad would want his two best friends to become killers. besides dead the truth lies with him. alive your free"
I nodded at Harry's words.
"I don't know if you know Harry but when you were born James and Lily made me your godfather"
"I know," Harry said
"I can understand it you want to stay with your aunt and uncle but if you ever wanted a different home"
"you mean to live with you"
"I mean it's just a thought. I can understand if you don't want to"
I turned around to look over at Harry when I saw the moon.
"Harry!" Hermione yelled.
"shit! Dad, he didn't take the potion. Snape didn't bring it" I yelled. we both ran over to Moony and Dad stood in front of him. he held onto his arms and started yelling at him. I looked at Harry and he gave me a look.
"y/n please don't" he whispered. I looked back at Remus before I changed into my animagus. I went to help Dad with Remus who was now a full-blown werewolf. Dad got hit away I quickly jumped in front of the trio who Remus was going to. he looked at me before I jumped at him. he quickly swatted at me and bit my shoulder harshly. I yelped and pushed away from him. I pushed him towards the grass where Dad came. then moonys arm slammed against me and threw me a good distance onto a rock. I heard another crack and felt blood before everything went foggy. I transformed back to myself not having enough energy to be my animal and closed my eyes.
