Summary: Alena has been distant and cold for the last couple months. Little does Nat know that the reason is another than she originally thought.
Alena slammed her body flat onto her bed.
She had enough of everything.
For months, she'd been talking to someone, even up to the point where she knew he wanted to be more than friends, just for him to turn around and date another girl once push came to shove.
The worst part, it was her own fault.
She was the one who was always denying her feelings, always getting annoyed if any of her friends brought it up or if she got asked directly by classmates if they were dating.
Her answer had always been no.
Up to this point.
Alenas heart ached at the thought of him with someone else, but here she was, needing to accept it.
She knew she wasn't an option or even a second choice. If she was gonna date, then only if the person was a hundred percent into her.
Still, it stung to see him choose someone else over her so easily.
It made her feel like she did something wrong, like it was her fault for not being perfect, pretty or smart enough so that he would choose her.
Alena buried her face in her arms, wishing for Peter back so she could talk to him.
She missed him deeply and in moments like these she could feel the desire to hug him again burn stronger than usual.
,,Hey свет (light), I wanted to ask if you wanted Mac and cheese"
Natashas voice suddenly inquired, though immediately changing tone as she saw her daughter crying on her bed.
,,Детка, что не так? (Baby, whats wrong?)"
She asked, concern swinging in her voice.
,,Почему меня никто не любит, мама? (Why doesnt anyone love me, Mama?)"
Alena sobbed, her voice muffled by her bedsheets.
Natashas heart dropped to her feet in that moment. It broke her heart so see her little, innocent girl so heartbroken.
,,Теперь это неправда. Я люблю тебя больше, чем ты можешь себе представить, и твой папа тоже. Оглянись, милая девочка, тебя все любят (Now thats not true. I love you more than you can even imagine and so does your dad. Look around, sweet girl, everyone loves you)"
She tried cheering her up only to be met with a sad, teary-eyed glare.
The younger redhead couldn't even speak, that's how hard the whole situation weighed on her heart in that moment.
,,But ... but I thought we had something special. I ... I don't know what I did wrong, Mama"
Alena stammered, tears flowing freely down her beautiful face.
Next thing she knew, her mom was next to her on the bed, her arms wrapped around her.
,,You didn't do anything wrong, малышка (baby girl). He's an idiot for not seeing how great you are"
Natasha soothed wiping her little girls tears. Said girl crashed her head into her Mom's shoulder, sniffling occasionally.
The assasin only wrapped her arms around her child, her heart aching for her. If she could, she'd happy to break the nose of the dude who dared to play with her baby's feelings.
Still she knew that that wasn't the way to go and in the end, it wouldn't help Alena to get over him.
,,Hey, hey детка (baby), look at me"
Natasha asked of her daughter softly, when her sobs were getting louder again.
Alena met her Mom's gaze reluctantly, her face tear stained while more tears fell down her face.
She felt her Mothers thumbs gently wiping away her tears, her expression a mix between great compassion and pure Fury.
,,He's the idiot, детка свет. He doesn't deserve you and trust me when I say, you certainly don't wanna be with someone like him. Ты намного больше, чем он видел (You're so much more than he saw)."
Natasha assured, fully focused on boosting her daughters confident and self esteem,
,,Otherwise he wouldn't have been stupid enough to play with your feelings"
Alena let out a tiny chuckle through her crying. She knew her mom was right.
,,Mama"
,,Yea?"
,,I love you. More than anything"
,,I love you too, моя драгоценная девочка (my precious girl)"
