—Delilah Quinn—

Sitting in class was always so boring. I watched as the time passed but it went so slow. I couldn't help but to think of the taste of Shrimp-Alfredo right now. Gosh was I hungry. I hadn't had any lunch or even breakfast today. The thought of me eating made me want to vomit but weirdly enough, I was starving.

Before I could go on and on about the image of Shrimp-Alfredo playing in my head, my thoughts were interrupted when Rosalie walked; or let's say hopped up to me with a cast on her foot as she sat down next to me.

Of course she didn't care that she interrupted the class. It was Rosalie after all, she didn't care much about anything. Quite frankly I was even surprised that she stayed in the hospital for all that time that she was supposed to. Knowing her, she would have broken out.

"Hey, Pretty. So, I got rid of the crunches and I'm still up for that date." She whispered to me,

I shrugged before taking the top off my pen and began to write down the words my teacher suggested to us. If I entertained her then she wouldn't go away. If I talked to her and gave her the satisfaction that she wanted then I could risk getting myself into trouble with her.

Being the good girl that I am, I preferred to just ignore her and wait until after school. Of course like I said, I preferred it. That's not exactly what happened. When I didn't answer her, she kept poking me in my side with her index finger.

"Can we talk about this outside of school? I'm trying to pay attention to this class so I won't fail, unlike you." I pointed out,

I could see her lean down from the corner of my eyes as she gave me a frown. She then raised her hand up to my chin and turned me to face her.

"Date. You and I. At 8." She assured,

I looked over towards the teacher to see if I wasn't the only one seeing this but the teacher wasn't even in the room. Since when did she leave? And since when was Rosalie like this? I couldn't blame it on alcohol because she would have been kicked out of school if she did drink.

"I have siblings to watch tonight. I can't." I assured her,

"I knew you would say that, and that's why it's taken care of, Alona said she'd watch them for as long as we want but we better be back in time for school, I don't plan on having you out all night anyways." She winked at me,

I turned away from her as I continued to write in my notebook with a sigh leaving my lips. Maybe she really is trying this time. It was a surprise to me but so was everything she did in life, always a mystery and never knew what's going on in her head. That's why I was a little scared considering I don't know if she's joking or serious about what she says when it comes down to us.

"If you don't say yes I'll tell everyone in this class that you're my girlfriend so they could stay away from you. And you will not have a date for prom." She threatens,

"But it's not true and for some reason, I don't believe you." I spoke the truth,

She challenged me with a smirk before she seemed to be standing up. I grabbed her arm to make sure she sat down softly enough not to hurt her. I didn't want to take any chances.

"7 pm, no later, no earlier." I said before turning back to my paper.

I already knew she had a grin on her face so I wasn't surprised when she didn't say anything else. The typical Cartier grin. If I was being honest with myself, it was a very attractive look on her face, but I couldn't tell her that. It would boost up her ego and that was already too big for her own good.

For the remainder of the period, she brushed her hands against my thigh every now and then, considering I would push her hand off telling me that I didn't want her to touch me. And maybe it was my body language or maybe she knew me well but I was definitely enjoying when she touched me rather than when she didn't. It was just this feeling inside me that stung. It made my heart warm.

-

"Should I wear this one or this one?" I asked Alona as I held up a red dress that was just a little revealing in my left hand and a black dress with most of my body out and exposed back in my right.

Alona hummed before looking between both dresses repeatedly. A smile then appeared on her face and she hopped off my bed and went over to my jewelry dresser to get my gold earrings that my mom gave me back when I was 14.

"These earrings and that black dress. The red is more so for when we sneak into the bar. We don't even look 19, that red dress will surely seduce those bartenders and get us a drink." She winked,

I should have known she would say something like that. I mean, it was Alona after all. Just the wild and fun best friend. That's what I wanted to believe. But I didn't. She was missing her moms and her--former crush--was in a hospital bed still put into a coma. Things weren't looking good for her and I felt really bad.

"Alona, are you okay? You could let me know if you're not. I'm always going to be here for you no matter what and I don't want you to bottle everything up." I say to her genuinely,

She looked away from and shook her occasionally, most likely trying to let me know that she was already or what I assume--trying to pretend.

This would have worked on anyone else, Anyone else that didn't know Alona like I do. I knew she was bothered by something and what friend--best friend--would I be to just go out on this date and have fun knowing I should be there for her? A pretty damn bad one, that's what.

"I don't want to talk about it. If I talk about it, I cry, and I don't want to cry, Lilah. I'm tired of crying and my head is swollen and my heart is numb, I can't take anymore talking, and expressing my feelings. It won't change anything."

"It will, If you tell me how you feel I can try and help-"

"Can you go back in time and stop Autumn from being at that bank? Can you go back in time and stop me from having feelings for her because no matter how damn selfish I sound, I rather not know her at all if the pain is any less. I miss her, Lilah. The only thing I can do is pray for her to be better but what if all this praying gets me nowhere?" She asked with a tear falling from her eyes.

She quickly wiped away her tears as soon as they came. I could tell she was trying to hold herself together but who was I? Who was I for her to have to hide such things? I'd seen her at her lowest and her highest and I'm still here. I'm still fighting for her to be happy because no one deserves happiness other than her.

Her happiness should have been met and kept. After all that she does for the ones she loves and even for the ones she despised, she didn't deserve her outcome.

I pulled her in for a hug as she held onto me tight like old times. I could hear her sob in the crook of my neck as I stroked her hair.

"It's going to be okay, I promise you." I said before I leaned back and cupped her face.

Tears streamed down her face like crazy, she was drenched in them and I couldn't help but to feel more sad for her. I wiped away most of the tears and brought her back into a hug. She was going to get her happy ending, even if I had to sacrifice mine.

-

It was 6:43 and I wasn't even close to being dressed. I took all that time off to help Alona because that's what she needed and I didn't feel bad about it at all.

Rosalie had her chance at me being nice to her and even had most of my attention for a while, it was Alona's turn and it was my best friend's duties.

"Delilah?" I heard Alona ask,

"Yes?" I asked as I looked over at her,

"I hope you don't think you're missing your date because of me. Get up and get dressed." She crossed her arms before getting up and walking over to my night stand, "I'll worry about the make up."

I gave her a challenging look as she gave me one back. I could have fought her about this but arguing wasn't what she needed right about now.

"Fine, but no makeup. Gosh do I hate makeup." I told her before walking into the bathroom.

"What are you doing? Rosie's going to be here at any moment." She pointed out,

"And? I haven't taken my shower yet, She'll just have to wait." I said before turning on the shower water.

-

When I was done with my shower, It was already 7 pm and I was practically tired. I was ready to call this whole date off but then I heard the sound of the door bell. I walked over to the window to see Rosalie with a bouquet of flowers.

I sighed before opening the window. I made sure to stick my head out just a bit so that she could see and hear me for this next part,

"You went all out?" I asked her,

She looked at me and raised her eyebrow. At first I thought maybe she thought I was weird for hanging out of the window but then again, I also had a towel wrapped around my body and I was supposed to be dressed.

"Not that I'm complaining, but where's your clothes?" She asked me,

"I'm still getting dressed, Can you wait like 2 minutes?" I asked,

"I'll wait however long it takes." She assured me,

I sent her a small smile before leaning back and shutting my window. I then rushed over to my closet to grab the black dress with my underwear and bra.

Maybe it was a bad idea to rush this or maybe it wasn't, but I didn't like the fact that she actually made an effort to be here at 7 o'clock on the dot and I was the one keeping us from showing up on time. I looked like a hypocrite.

So, I rushed and got my things on as I didn't forget to apply perfume and lotion onto my body along with a few jewelry accessories.

When I headed for the door, Alona was already on the other end and she looked at me with a popsicle in one hand and a grin on her lips.

"You look amazing." She says before looking me up and down and taking a bite of her popsicle,

"Thank you. Now, are you sure you have the twins handled?" I asked her,

"I've watched them before, Lilah. I could handle watching them for just a few hours. Besides, they're going to sleep soon." She then finally looked up to meet my eyes. "If Rosalie messes this up then she's dumb." She winked before turning around and heading downstairs.

I followed after her as I closed the room door behind us. She was being a little more of herself now, I loved that for her.

I slipped my shoes on and then my jacket. When I got to the door, Rosalie was sitting on the steps facing my driveway. When Alona closed the door behind me, which seemed to startle Rosalie. She turned around and looked at me with her jaw seeming at the edge of the ground.

It took her a moment to get up but when she did, she slowly made her way up to me and I heard her gulp just a bit.

"Hi." She said nervously, seeming out of breath.

"Hi." I trailed off, "So, where are we going?"

Her eyes traveled down my body and then back up to me as scratched the back of her neck. She looked as if she was foaming at the mouth.

"W...what?" She asked,

"The date? Where are we going?" I asked once again,

"Oh right. Yes, the date. We're going to go pick up my wallet from my mother's diner because I realized that I forgot it there but after that, we are in for a bit of a drive."

I nodded and hummed before she reached and took my hand into hers. She then limped a bit as she guided me in the direction of a car. There was a man sitting in the front and he had on some silly hat. She then opened the car door for me and waited patiently as I climbed into the back seat.

She got in after me and shut the car door. She then tapped the guy's shoulder and he drove off before I could even get my safety belt on.

"Since when did you have a chauffeur?" I asked,

"Since, Delilah Armani Quinn agreed to go on a date with me." She winked,

This was nice, it really was but this was too far off from the Rosalie I know. Winking? Not just once but multiple times and compliments? And asking me out on a date? Maybe she got amensea in that hospital.

-

We had been in the car for more than an hour and my head was hurting and I had no idea where we were. The whole car ride we didn't even talk to each other which was more annoying because it was super awkward and I couldn't handle it.
I was a little frustrated with Rosalie and I was honestly just ready to go home before the date even started. I mean, if anyone was put into my spot, They would feel the same way.

When we walked into the fancy restaurant, I shivered at the coldness. This wasn't what I was used to. Rosalie wasn't even the type for places like this and since when did her mom have a diner?

Rosalie had walked into the place before me leaving me alone for just a short while. By the time I walked up to Rosalie with my glares shooting through her body, she seemed to be talking to some blonde woman.

"Why are we here, again?" I asked annoyed,

"I'm just grabbing my wallet that I left earlier and we could head on our way." She assured me,

The blonde haired girl gave me a look that only made me more irritated before I rolled my eyes and began to walk off,

"Who the hell is she?" I heard her ask,

I turned around to make some snarky remark back to her but I was stopped by Rosalie's voice,

"That's my lady." She says with a grin before glancing over towards me, "or at least I hope for her to be, soon." She pushed herself up and turned back over to the girl.

My face heated and I knew I wouldn't be able to handle myself if I stayed in here any longer. I hurried up out of the diner as I heard footsteps following after me.

"Wait up!" Rosalie called,

I turned around and she groaned in pain as she stepped down on her casted leg. I hurried to help her as her arm swung around and over my shoulders,

"Why are you in such a rush? I was only going to be in there for 2 minutes." She assured me,

I rolled my eyes before helping her into the car. I then sat in right after her. She looked over and smiled at me before the driver took off driving again.

"How long until we get there? We've been driving for quite some time and I'm tired." I assured her,

She took my hands in hers and brushed her lips against the back of my hands. The smile lingered on her lips before she reached up to move some of my hair behind my ears. She didn't answer me, instead, I had to wait a total of 5 minutes before we arrived at this mystery place.

When I got out of the car, she stood behind me as she brushed a few strands of my hair over my shoulders. We both then looked up at what was in front of us; The Statue of liberty.

"Can I show you the world in one night?" She whispered against my ears before wrapping her arms around my waist,
