We see the crew walking to their first hour class. They're wearing their school uniforms made for them, as for Ranger, he still had his hat on. They approach two doors that are the entrance to the classroom. They walk into what was a college sized classroom, with a white board with a bunch of notes on the different species of Grimm, and drawing of a bunch of Grimm anatomy, including a Boarbatusk. There also stood a desk, and behind it was the teacher getting his notes and papers in order. A name tag was on his desk saying "Professor Port".
Port: "Ah gentlemen, welcome. It would seem as you four are early."
He checks the clock on his wall.
Port: "Twenty minutes early at that."
Seth: "Well better early than late."
Percy: "Yeah, we weren't raised to be lazy."
Port: "Aha, conviction. Now I see why Ozpin wanted you to fight the Cyclops. As you can see I am your teacher for this class, you can call me Professor Port."
Ranger: "Nice, we get to have old man wisdom!"
Port chuckled at this saying.
Port: "Haha, 'old man wisdom'. I think I'll take a liking to you four."
Ranger: "Welp, we won't disappoint ya, Professor."
He then got up and walked to the four boys, and gave all of them a handshake. He was quite fond of all of their handshakes.
Port: "Good grip."
Ranger: "Thanks. So, we're early after all mind if we help you with something?"
Port: "Actually Mr. Vincent. I would like your assistance with moving something in here."
Ranger: "Got it."
Seth: "And one more thing. I might have a hunch that team RWBY might be a bit late."
Port: "Well alright then. Knowing how your predictions might come true, I'll let it slide if they are late."
Seth: "I actually prefer bluffs, instead of predictions."
After 15 minutes of helping out Port with getting his classroom ready, students start to come in. Port decides to tell the to take a seat and thank them for helping. They all took there seats in a row above the front row. They then grab their notebooks ready to take notes. Ranger however was more concerned about the cage he helped bring in as it just continued to move around and growl.
After a couple of more minutes, Port decided to start class. Then during the first few minutes of his lecture, the doors burst open to show team RWBY panting through the doors.
Port: "Ah, team RWBY. Nice of you to drop in. 5 minutes late."
Ruby then chuckles as if she's guilty, and Weiss facepalms herself.
Port: "But don't worry, team SPRK here told us that you'd be late. I'll let it slide this once, but don't let it happen again."
They girls sighed in relief. Kai waved at them and pointed to the row in front, which no one took. So they walked to sit in front of the boys. Long minutes go by and Port continued with his lecture.
Port: "Monsters, demons, prowlers of the night. Yes, the creatures of Grimm have many names. But I, merely refer to them as prey. Hu-hah! Haha."
Ruby was sleeping whenever she woke up to the sound of Ports laugh. Weiss was taking notes, while Blake and Yang were observing his lecture. Seth, Percy and Kai took notes as well. Ranger took notes, but still looked in the cage.
Ranger(Mind): "Why the hell didn't he tell me what's in the cage? It could be harmful if not dealt with properly."
Percy saw Ranger zone off in the distance as Port continued with his lecture.
Percy(Whispering): "Ranger, dude. You've been staring at that cage all day. What's wrong?"
Ranger(whispering): "He didn't tell me what was in it. And it growled violently when we moved it, so it just worries me."
Port saw the two whispering.
Port: "Ahem."
He got the boys attention and they stopped and turned back to taking notes.
Port: "As I said, you shall too, upon graduating from this prestigious academy. Vale, as well as the other three kingdoms, are safe havens in an otherwise treacherous world. Our planet is absolutely teeming with creatures that would love nothing more than to tear you into pieces. And that's where we come in. Huntsman! Huntresses."
He then clicks his tongue and points a finger gun at Yang, which made her uncomfortable. Percy saw this and he snickered a little bit. Yang heard this and she turn to face Percy with a "if you don't shut up" glare. He then understood and stopped.
Port: "Individuals who have sworn to protect those who cannot protect themselves. From what you ask? Why the very world!"
Then one random student cheered at his statement.
Random Kid: "Eyyy-yeah!"
Every student in the class then looked at him like he was crazy, and sat down in defeat.
Port: "That is what you are training to become. But first a story. A tale of a young, handsome man. Me. When I was a boy..."
Seth sighs, Kai was intrigued, Percy still looked over at Ranger ad he was still looking at the cage. Port continued on with his lecture.
Port: "The moral of this story? A true huntsman must be honorable. A true huntsman must be dependable. A true huntsman must be strategic, well-educated, and wise."
He then turned his head to look at the boys.
Port: "Much like team SPRK."
Th boys looked at their teacher whenever he said their team name and smiled at the compliment.
Port: "So, who among you believes themselves to be the embodiment of these traits?"
Both Percy and Weiss shot their hands up, however the piranha faunus was faster in the end.
Port: "So, Mr. Donegan. You believe that you might be these traits?"
Percy: "Actually sir. I believe, that Ranger is these traits. After all, he is a Vincent. A family line of professional hunters."
Port: "Ah, so that's why the name was familiar. Well then, Mr. Vincent."
Ranger got up out of his seat.
Ranger: "Yes sir?"
Port: "Let's find out. Step foward and face your opponent."
Ranger then looked at the cage once more and realized what he meant.
Ranger: "That's why you brought it here? Ugh, well ain't no harm in a challenge. I accept this task."
Weiss: "Sir, if I may. Since Percy didn't want to do this, then shouldn't I take up that role. After all I was the only other one who raised their hand."
Port: "In terms of other situations, you're right Ms. Schnee. But just as eager I am to see a new Schnee huntress in action, I prefer to see what a Vincent can do more."
Port was a very big fan of the Vincent family, being successful hunters in the area of Vale. Ranger was raised to be both hunter, and huntsman. Back to the scene, Weiss just let out an angry sigh and sat back down.
Ranger walked down to the floor of the room across from the cage. He then looked up and took his hat off.
Ranger: "Hold this for me, will ya darlin'?"
He threw his hat to Yang, which she catches and blushes a little before shaking her head and putting it on. Ranger then looked at the cage and got himself into a grappler wrestling stance.
Ranger: "Let's it out, Professor."
Port then opened the cage, and out came an angry Boarbatusk that charged straight at Ranger. He remained in his stance and grabbed the Grimms tusks and flipped it over on its side. Ranger moved to a different position on the floor and taunted his opponent.
Ranger: "That the best you got?"
The Boarbatusk got back up on its feet, and charged itself up. It then did a spin dash going for Ranger. He activated his semblance and turned his arms into steel to block the attack.
Ruby: "Wow, your friends doing well. And he doesn't have any weapons on him."
Percy: "Yeah, he has will. And that's why he likes his semblance. He says it gives him determination to get back up from any blow and attacks. And he'll back twice as strong."
Yang heard this then looked back at Ranger thought to herself
Yang(Mind): "Woah, charming and determined?"
Her face then turned red again.
Back to the fight, Ranger then went on the offensive as he tired the Grimm out. He then walked up to it, and punched it in the face multiple times which knocked it to the ground. He then put his foot on the Grimms back holding it down. He then grabbed its tusks and with all his might, tore its head off of its body, leaving nothing but black ash under him. He then panted as he ran out of breath a bit.
Yang(Mind): "And strong too?!"
Port: "Excellent! Very well done and executed! Ladies and gentlemen, we are in the presence of a true huntsman in training."
Port then looks at Weiss.
Port: "I do apologize Ms. Schnee, you'll get your chance another time."
The bell then rang.
Port: "I'm afraid that's all class, your dismissed."
The students then got up and left the class, some congratulated Ranger. The main ones being his team and the Ruby, Blake, and Yang. He the saw his hat an Yangs head, so he took it off and put it back on him.
Ranger: "You had it on backwards, by the way."
Yang: "O-oh right, sorry."
He gave her a smile and a playful punch to the shoulder, with a "don't worry about it" feel.
Meanwhile, Weiss looked at Ruby, Percy, and Ranger like she was pissed off at them. She walked off into the hallway, Ruby saw her and decided to follow. Meanwhile the other two girls of team RWBY, and all of SPRK were still talking, and admired Ranger's "Steel Will."
