"So are you ready to go over there?" Kate asked
"Yeah. I wish you were coming" I pouted
"John actually Dm'd me on instagram. But my family and I are going out tonight. I would of came" She said
"Did he really?" I asked
"Yeah. He said it might make you feel more comfortable and just wanted to extend the offer." Kate said
"Why's he gotta be so nice to me" I said
"Because he likes you dumbass" She laughed
"Eh. Oh he just texted me that he's leaving work" I said
"Well have fun and text me if you need too. We are going out but i'll be able to be on my phone" She said
"I love you babes" I said
"Love you too" She replied
Hanging up, I mapped John's address and it's a 5 minute drive. Huh, no wonder he doesn't mind staying here late. Hopping in my truck, I headed down the street and made a few turns before coming to Johns house. Ah, circle streets. I texted John that I was here and he came outside a minute later.
"You can park right there if you want. Or if you want to possibly be trapped, you can pulled up here and my dad will most likely be checking out your truck if he recognizes it" John said
"It's up to you" I said
"Pull up. If you don't mind, my dad will probably ask you about your truck" He said
I nodded and pulled up in to the driveway next to Johns truck. Then I hopped out and followed him into the house.
"Hey, this is my friend Ella" John said as we walked into the kitchen
"Hello Ella" His mom said
"Hello" I said back
His dad was just looking at me. I might just have a heart attack.
"Dad. She's the one who traded trucks with me almost a year ago. The old ford" John said
"Oh! That's your truck?" He said smiling
"Yes sir" I replied
"Oh sir. I like her. Do you mind if I go look at your truck again?" He asked
"No problem" I replied, very straight faced as i'm low key terrified
He stood up and motioned for John to follow. The two of them walked outside and now i'm left alone. With his mom. Who I just met. Good fucking lord i'm going to kill this kid.
"So, how are you hun" His mom said
"I'm good. How are you?" I replied
"Good. If you don't mind me asking. Were you the one he went to Texas with" She said
"Yeah.." I said back
"So you were also the one in the car accident a few months ago" She followed
"Yes" I replied
"I'm so sorry that happened hun. How are you doing" She said
"I'm doing good. Can ride again.. Well just walking. I started to trot again. Just have to work my way back until i'm fully healed" I said
"Well, if you need anything just let John know. He talks very highly of you" She said
I smiled and John and his father walked back in.
"Your truck is very clean. John said you got it from your father?" His dad said
"Yes. He gave it to me when I turned 16. Learned how to drive in that truck" I said
"That's amazing" His father said
I nodded and John motioned for me to follow. I quickly obeyed and he went into his.. living room? I would assume so. Sitting down on the couch I looked at him and smacked his chest.
"Hey what was that for" He laughed
"You should know" I replied, He just laughed and put his arm around me. "I can't with you."
"You love me. Now are you ready for more people you don't know to show up" He said
"Nope. But Colin will be here and Jenny is pretty cool" I said
"What about Ryan and Bobby" John said
"If they try something i'm decking them" I said
"Fair enough" John laughed
"How has work been for you this week. Second full one" John said
"Not as bad as last week. But Kyle and Deb are letting me do more. I groom some of the trail horses since I can't get a saddle on them half the time, to ride them." I said
"Poor thing" He said
"Yup. Sometimes I wish I didn't have a job and can just stay home all day" I laughed
"Be a stay at home wife. I'll bring all the money home" John chuckled
"Oh, so are we getting married in the future" I said
"You never know" He replied
Shaking my head, I was still leaning on his shoulder and he kissed my head. Again. And just like last time it made my heart race. We watched tv for a little bit and his buddies started showing up. Of course it was the people I don't know and John introduced me. His friends are nice. One of their girlfriends is giving me a death glare. The other one is non stop talking. Ryan is here too.
"So what time did you get here?" He asked
"I don't remember. John just texted me when he got done work and told me to come over" I said
"Oh.. cool" He said
Colin and Jenny showed up and sat next to me then Bobby waltz in the door with a girl. He smirked at me. Guys are dumb.
"So who's ready for the game?" John said
They all started chatting and the girl will not stop staring at me. I can't. I was texting Kate and laughing at her responces. So John looked over my shoulder at my phone.
"Who are you talking about?" He whispered
"Hold on" I replied
I opened up snapchat and pulled up the video I took. It looked like I was taking a selfie but I took a video of her glaring. Bobby is also glaring and smirking but I can't get a sneaky video of him.
"You're just loved" He smiled
I nodded and he put his arm over my shoulder. I froze and quickly glanced around the room. You know what. I've been through hell the last year. If people have a problem with me cuddling up to someone, well fuck them. I need to get my screw you attitude back. This car accident has got me all messed up. I'm worried about people's opinions of me, and getting anxious over random things. Shaking my head and leaned on John and felt comfortable. This game is good too.
"Oh come on. Just let them fight" One of the guys yelled
He is right. Hockey fights don't happen a lot anymore since they break them up so fast. The used to beat each other into the ice. But nooo, that's to aggressive. Pansies. There was a knock and John got up and went to answer it. Oh it smells like pizza.
"Alright guys. There's pizza and wings in the kitchen." John said
It was an intermission and almost everyone got up and ran towards the kitchen. The medication that i've been on I think has an appetite suppressant in it. Probably not, but since the accident I haven't been as hungry. Sometimes I skip lunch and just eat breakfast and dinner. Or skip breakfast. Depends. Right now, not too hungry.
"You going to get any?" John said walking in
"I'm not too hungry" I shrugged
"You want some of mine?" He asked
"No it's yours" I replied
"I grabbed a bunch of wings. You can have some" He said
I took one and gave him a smile. He just shook his head and the game came back on. After John pestered me for the longest time, I went into the kitchen and took the last piece of pizza and a single wing. Then that lovely girl who's been glaring at me walked in.
"I know you're trying to get with my man" She said
"What?" I laughed "I don't even know who you or your man is"
"Yes you do. I've seen your name in his phone" She said
"Oh yeah? And what's my name" I replied
"Brienna" She smirked
"Nope. Not even close." I laughed while eating my pizza
"Oh really. So if I look on your phone I won't find his name" She said
"Well I wouldn't let you look in my phone but i'll pull up my social media" I said
"Do it" She said pointing her nose up
I pulled up my instagram and showed her my page. She just huffed and walked back out. Cool. Walking back into the living room, I sat back down and finished my pizza and ate the single wing. The John had his plate out and I put mine on top. That made him laugh.
"Hey. It was there" I said
He just shook his head and we watched the end of the game.Our team won and everyone was going insane. I have a slight headache but you know, I can leave soon. I wonder if anybody blocked me in.
"Hey, I have a story for you. But not now" I said
"About what?" John asked
"My trip to your kitchen. People man, I can't" I said
"What" He laughed
"You will find out later. Either when people leave, or i'll call you when I get home" I said
"Facetime?" He asked
"Maybe" I replied
"Hey, the first time you ever called me was a facetime" He laughed
"Well that's cause you facetimed me" I said
He just shrugged and one person left but everyone else seems to be hanging out.
"So, are we drinking tonight boys?" One guy said
"I have a shift tomorrow morning" John said
"Boo" Some of them said
They all started talking amongst themselves and I was tired.
"Hey, I think i'm gonna head home" I said to John
"Aw you don't want to stay and hang out" He pouted
"You said you have work tomorrow" I laughed
"Well that just means I don't want to go out and get shit faced" he said
"Well maybe I do" I replied smirking
"You can't. You're on drugs" John laughed
"You know what. When I finish off the meds and get them out of my system I want to go and get shit faced. Well I would probably just want to at home around the fire but you know" I laughed
"I want to see you get drunk" John said
"Well i'll let you know when that's happening. I will for warn you that I am miserable when i'm hung over." I said
"That's fine. I won't have to deal with you" He shrugged
"So mean" I replied
"Hey, i'm pretty sure Kate will be there with you" He laughed
I shook my head and made sure I had my stuff. Saying bye to Colin and Jenny, I headed outside and John was behind me. I knew that. I wasn't ignoring him.
"So, you sure you don't want to hang out" He asked
"Yeah. I'm tired. Long day. Too much people" I said
"Well, you better call me later and tell me that story. I'll let you know when everyone leaves" John said
"Sounds like a plan" I said
"Or I could come over" He smirked
"John. You have work tomorrow. And i've seen enough of you today" I said and looked at my phone.
"Well damn" He replied "Guess i'll go inside then"
"I'm kidding come here" I laughed
I wrapped my arms around the boy and hugged him. He hugged me back and I got in my truck. I wasn't blocked in thank god.
"Let me know when you get home" He said
"I will. Thanks for the invite" I smiled
"Anytime" He replied
Heading home, I shot John a text and went into my room. It's not late late but i'm tired. I texted Kate and we chatted then John said everyone was gone about an hour later. So, I facetimed him.
"Hey" he said
"Sup" I replied
"So. Story time" John laughed
"Okay. So when I went in to the kitchen to get the pizza. The girl that had been glaring at me the whole entire time comes waltzing in and she's like. I know you're trying to get with my boyfriend. I know your name is in his phone. Then she said my name was Brienna. I don't even know a Brienna." I laughed
"Did she really. She's a piece of work" He laughed
"Yeah. She had her nose in the air and huffed at me. Why are girls so bitchy. Kate is literally the only female I can deal with" I said
"That's Connors girlfriend Aubry. Or something like that" John said
"That's nice. Oh you know what Kate told me" I replied
"What?" He asked
"She told me. That you asked her to come tonight so I would be more comfortable" I said
"Oh, yeah. She said she couldn't come" He said, he's in his room so I can see his face getting a little red
"I know she told me. But I thought that was sweet" I said
"So you think i'm sweet huh?" John said
"Sometimes. Other times you're a pain in the ass" I laughed
"Oh really now" He said
"Yup. But you make a good pillow so you know. I'll keep you around" I smiled
"So nice. Would you like to know why I keep you around" He smirked
"And why is that" I asked
"Your truck" He said
"Wow. So nice" I laughed
"You love me cause i'm comfy and I love you for your truck" He shrugged
"Aww you love me" I smiled
"Maybe. You'll never know though" He said
"And why is that?" I asked, guess i'll only ever be a friend
"Because every time you and I start becoming really close, you want to back away because of Ryan and Bobby" He said
"Oh. I just don't want to ruin your guys friendships" I said
"You're not going to. Shit your best friend ruined Tommy's friendships" He said
"Okay. And that's her. She also feels bad about it, and they have been together for almost 6 years" I replied
"What happened to that don't care attitude you had" He laughed
"I don't know. It's been gone since my parents anniversary. And even worse since the car accident. Everything bothers me" I said
"I mean hey, if you don't want to date me let me know" He said
"You only date blondes and dirty blondes" I replied
"Maybe I want to change it up" He said
"Well, you let me know. But i'm going to bed cause i'm exhausted." I said
"Goodnight" John said
"Goodnight" I replied
We hung up and i put my phone face down on my bed side table and went to sleep. I... sometimes John just confuses the hell outta me.
