Diana's P.O.V.

I hugged Niall tightly at the airport. He had to go back to tour and I had to stay put so I could "adjust to being back home." I wanted to go with him so badly! Their tour bus felt more like home than where I was. But I knew Niall was right, so I let go of him so he could board the plane.

"Bye, Ni," I said as I took a step back to get a good look at him.

"Bye, Diana." He smiled a sad smile. "Remember to call me every day and if you need anything!" He told me for about the millionth time, "And-"

I rolled my eyes. "I know. Stay away from Marcus and ask Macey to tell me as much about me as possible. You've told me before."

"I just want to make sure you're safe," he said defensively.

"You just take care of your ribs! I'll be fine."

"Mmmm! Ribs sound good right now!" Niall zoned out. "Smoked ribs are amazing!"

"Shut up," I laughed. "You know what I mean."

He grinned. "Maybe."

I glanced at a clock. "Niall! You need to hurry up and get through security! You'll miss your flight!"

He waved me off. "I've got time."

"Yeah, just enough time to get through security! Now go!"

He checked the clock. "Oh, cheeseburger! You're right!"

He hugged me again.

"I'd share you food with you," he whispered.

"I love you too," I giggled.

He smirked and picked up his bag. "I'll miss you..." He trailed off and dropped his gaze to the ground.

"I'll miss you too. But I'll call you every day."

"Okay, every day... Right?" He asked with sad eyes.

"Yes. Now go. If you miss your flight you'll let the fans down because you'll miss stuff."

That snapped him to attention. "You're right! I need to go! Bye, Diana!"

He practically ran to the line for security. But just before he got there, he stopped, turned around, and blew me a kiss. I knew I must have been blushing like crazy, and I made no effort to suppress it.

"Neala! Are you even listening?" Macey asked.

"Yeah!" I lied. She was driving me to her house from the airport.

"Really? What did I just say?"

"You... Uh... You were telling me about me...?"

"Is that a question?" Macey laughed. "You're a terrible liar, Neala. You're obviously thinking about Niall."

"What? No, I'm not... Okay, fine. What clued you in?"

"You just had that look," she said airily. "No, just kidding. There's one thing that I'm sure hasn't changed about you: You're always thinking about Niall. Before it was in a fangirl way, now, it's whatever way you're thinking of him now."

I put my hands up in surrender. "Okay, you win. I wasn't listening to you. I was thinking about Niall. I hope his flight is going okay."

"You can't make anything better by worrying about it. Just wait. He said he'd call you as soon as they land. Take a chill pill. What do you want to do when we get to my house?"

"I don't know, just hangout I guess."

"Oh! I just remembered, I never took you to your house! Do you want to do that now?"

"Yeah, sure," I said nervously.

"Okie dokie then." She made a U-turn at the next light.

Almost immediately, police sirens blared behind us.

Macey went white as a ghost. She pulled over then sat, frozen, as we waited for the cop to come to our window.

"Macey, he's gonna ask us for your license and registration."

She didn't move.

"Macey... Earth to Macey," I said. Still no reaction. I sighed and searched the glove box for the car's registration.

As I found and extracted it, the cop came into view by the driver's-side window.

"Macey, roll the window down!"

She did as she was told and greeted the cop with wide eyes.

"May I have your license and registration, please," the cop, a young man, maybe upper 20's, said as more of a command than a question.

I handed him the registration as Macey reached for her purse to get her license.

The cop's eyes lingered on me for a little too long. Not in a creepy way, he just looked as if he was trying to remember something. He must have decided something as he continued, "Do you know what I pulled you over for?"

I had no idea and was about to tell him so when Macey spoke up in a small voice. "For making that U-turn. I didn't notice the sign until too late. I'm so sorry." She passed her license to the policeman. I expected her to stop speaking after that, but she continued. "I wasn't going to turn, but the sign said, 'No, you turn'." She let out a nervous laugh.

I was completely lost as to how that could have been funny, but the officer gave a slight smile and I didn't want to ruin the joke, whatever it was, so I kept my mouth shut until the he'd left.

"What was that?" I asked Macey as the cop went out of earshot.

"I read a book on how to get out of tickets. That was one of the things they said to say," She mumbled, still dazed.

"Well then I'm absolutely positive he hasn't heard that one before!" I groaned.

"What if he gives me a ticket? I've only had my license for a few days. My parents are gonna kill me!"

"Hey," I said in a soothing voice, "It'll be okay. He'll be able to see that you just got your license and maybe be nicer about it. Worrying won't help anything. Just wait for him to come back."

She nodded but still looked worried.

Much sooner than I was expecting, the cop returned. We looked at him expectantly.

"Well, it looks like you're a new driver, so I'll let you off with a warning. But try to check the signs before you turn next time."

"Thank you so much!" Macey practically screamed. "I will!"

The policeman then turned to me. "Aren't you that girl that, uh, Neil is dating? Diana?"

"You mean Niall? Yep," I said.

"Oh, yeah. My little sister loves you two. Niana is all she talks about. And my brother, though he won't admit it, is head over heels for you." He chuckled. "They both flipped out when they heard where you were from. Both of them wanted to come visit me all the sudden. Well, I should let you go now. Drive safe!"

"Okay, thanks, bye!" I called.

Macey sunk back into her seat, relived. "He didn't give us a ticket."

"Great job noticing. Now we need to start driving again otherwise he will," I said, pointedly.

"Right." She put the car in drive and was careful to turn on her blinker before getting back on the road. "Where are we headed again?" She asked.

"My house."

Niall's P.O.V.

Yeah, we're lookin' down on the clouds! That's all I saw out my window for an hour, aside for the occasional break where fields where a few houses could be seen. Good thing phones have games and a long battery life.
