CONTINUATION
'Acha toh hum kaha jaa rahe hai Karan ?' Monami asked curiously.
'Bohot jald patah chal jaayega Rani Saheba.' Karan said while looking at Monami who pouted at the reply but knew it was no point asking further since he wouldn't budge and let her know where they were going.
Monami again turned towards the road and soon fell asleep due to the breeze. Karan looked at Monami and saw her dozed off, 'I hope hum jaha jaa rahe hai waha jiss mission se jaa rahe hai woh mission complete ho jaaye.' he said to himself in his mind.
The jeep soon enough came to a halt. Karan unfastened his seat belt and got down the jeep, he walked towards Monami's jeep side and unfastened her belt, and called her out softly.
'Rani Saheba...Monami utho.' He called her out softly and cupped her cheek caressing it softly.
Monami woke up and she realised the jeep had come to a stop, she looked around and saw Karan standing besides her. 'Chalo neeche utariye Rani Saheba hum jaana chaahte the waha aa chuke hai.' Monami got down from the jeep and held Karan's hand.
Karan held on to Monami's hand and led her she kept looking at him like a child does when they are being lead somewhere with their hand held. They stopped and Karan looked at Monami who was constantly gazing at him with a soft smile on his face. Karan's heart ached looking at her face and knowing what was gonna come next. Monami raised her eyebrows in question at Karan, who asked her to look ahead.
Monami looked ahead and what she saw stopped her heart for a moment. Her hold on Karan's hand slipped she shuddered looking at the sight in front of her, her breathing got quick and uneven she took slow steps ahead but with every step her footing faltered. Hot tears gushed from her eyes and down her face.
Karan looked at his Monami in anticipation and took in her each and every expression, she had slowly started to register where she had been brought. He noticed how she struggled to breath and how her steps staggered as she went ahead. Karan felt angry on himself for making her go through this but he knew he needed to do that. In order te help her with her PTSD he had got her to the place where all her worries, fear, anxiety and nightmares had started ; the warehouse where he was captured, tortured to too much extent and supposedly killed.
'doctor...doctor Monami Mahajan patient ko saatwana dena...au...aur safed jhooth bolne mai bohot fark hai...'
'aese maut sabko naseeb nahi hoti Monami...desh ke liye shaheed hona, aur..aur marne se pehele jisse pyaar karte ho uski...uski aankhon mai dekhna kismat...kismat waalo ko milti hai...'

He stood and looked on helplessly as Monami slowly started to kneel down. And that's when he heard a heart wrenching screaming. He closed his eyes and fisted his hands tightly as he heard the gut wrenching scream. She stopped screaming and started sobbing badly, Karan opened his eyes and slowly made his way towards her.
He started walking towards her as she held on to her arms hugging them and sobbing every bitter memory came gushing to her mind every bit of it that she wished she could erase from her mind forever. Those memories of Karan laying in her lap, under the debris not being able to move out. Her helplessness at the then situation, him gasping for every bit of breath and trying to keep her calm even though Karan was filled with pain in every part of his body, mind and soul. Her saluting him before he breathed his last, Balli taking her away but her pushing him and going to Karan and then falling unconscious where his heart once used to beat for her.
Everything came back crashing to her mind the way waves come crashing to the sea shore. As she sobbed the coldness filling her body that's when she felt something warm around her. Karan came and sat behind Monami taking her in a back hug. He slowly wound his arms around her and pulled her towards and into him, her back to his chest as she continued to sob. He kissed her head as he heard her sobs, his heart started aching the moment she started screaming and sobbing but he knew it was necessary. Necessary for them, she needed to take out all the locked in emotions otherwise she would suffocate with all the pent up emotions if not unlocked.
'Monami.' Karan called her out with utter softness caressing her arms that hugged herself, she flinched at the call of her name.
Karan slowly lowered his arms from around her as she slowly turned around, 'Karan' she called him her voice quivering she raised her shivering hand and and kept it on his face cupping his cheek. He was real but the memories and her panicked state were making her think otherwise ; he understood her inner turmoil.
'Mai yahi hu Rani Saheba, aapke saath aapke pass.' Karan said while taking Monami's hand and placing it over his heart which was beating quite fast looking at Monami's condition.
Monami looked at where Karan had placed her hand, on his chest where his heart resided she carefully looked at it her eyes still pouring tears, she could feel the pulse beating fast. Realization struck her mind and she realized she had had a panic attack when she saw the now burnt to ruins, warehouse. She looked into Karan's eyes which looked hopefully anticipated and that's when Monami was completely sure that Karan was in front of her, his heartbeats and his deep black eyes would never betray her. She lunged forward and hugged him.
Her hands where around his back and nape of the neck her thumb caressing it. He slowly rubbed her back to calm her down his other arm wound around her waist. He lifted his hand and ran his fingers through her hair calming her down placing a soft kiss on her head to reassure her that he was there.
'Shhh...shh calm down Rani Saheba.' Karan said continuing to caress her back and hair simultaneously. He could still feel her crying against him her breaths getting uneven with the heavy bouts of heaving cries.
'Rani Saheba suniye meri baat....shh...shaant ho jau Monami nahito tabiyat bigad jaayegi tumhaari.' He told her softly, he tried to break the embrace but he felt Monami's hands clawing at the back of his shirt not ready to break the embrace.
'Monami calm down, yahi hu mai....kahi nahi jaa raha hu.' Karan said softly and tried to get outta the embrace but felt Monami shaking her head in a no in the crook of his neck 'I promise Rani Saheba, I'm not going anywhere.' he said confidently and slowly Monami loosened her embrace but still held on to his shirt in her hand fists.
Karan looked at Monami, who's eyes and nose had turned red and watery from crying. The soft glow on her face was replaced with the paleness due to cry yet she managed to have a glowy dewy look on her face. Karan couldn't help but give a meek small smile at his fiance, he kissed her forehead which gave her all the love, peace and security she needed at the moment.
'Karan...mai..mai da-' Monami started to speak but kept breaking off due to her constant tears and uneven breaths.
'Shhh....calm down Rani Saheba deep and slow breaths.' Karan said while cupping Monami's face between his palms 'Breathe in.....breathe out....breathe in.....breathe out....' He said while breathe coaching her so that she calmed down. Monami followed with Karan and soon enough she had managed to calm down a little.
'Ab bolo, mai yahi hu sunn raha hu aapki baate. Mann mai joh bhi hai woh shaanti se bolo aaj aapke saare dard dur karne ki koshish karunga.' Karan said while wiping her tears away and looking at her encouragingly so that she could open up.
Monami nodded and took a deep breath, 'Karan tumhe patah hai uss dinn jab maine tumhe uss blast scene se nikal nahi paayi I felt so helpless....mai tumhaari best cadet hokar bhi kuch nahi kar paayi, I couldn't get you out of there...aur mai behosh hogayi phr jab hosh mai aayi tab patah chala mai 2 dinn hospital mai unconscious thi....phir Batra sir ne kaha ki hum tumhe bacha nahi paaye aur naahi tumhare remains mile tab mere pass kuch words hi nahi the....uske baad academy wapas aana Balli ko Karan bante dekhna, usse jhelna taaki humaara mission jeopardize na ho.' she said pausing closing her eyes and remembering those painstaking moments.
'Tumhe patah hai zindagi jeene ki umeed hi chod di thi, bas ek cheez patah tha ki mere Karan ki shahadat waste nahi jaayegi....aur uske baad ek baat thaan li Charu ko toh maut ke ghaat utaar kar hi rahungi...Mission complete hua aur phir humme Bhabhi aur Baby, aur baaki sabko tumhaare shahadat ke baare mai batana pada. Hum sab proud the tumpe kyuki tumne hi kaha tha na ki ek fauji ke maut ka jashn manate hai...par ek kami khal rahi thi...sab kuch ek chutki mai badal gaya.' Monami said snapping her fingers with a teary smile as she looked into Karan's eyes remembering every bit she spent without him.
She looked at the ring on her hand and looked at Karan, who was gazing at her with tear filled eyes, 'Yeh ring yahi toh tha humaara constant jab hum ek dusre ke saath nahi the, tumhe patah hai bhabhi ne mujhe agle dinn call kiya tha wish karne aur tab mujhe patah chala ki tum mujhe propose karne waale the, par shayad destiny ko kuch aur hi manzoor tha' she laughed bitterly reminiscing how excited she was for the proposal but how every bit of excitement went down the drain, 'Phir jab maine Balli ko kaha ki mujhe woh ring de de uss bewakoof ko laga ki woh mujhe propose kar lega par uss joker ko kaha patah tha ki woh ek bohot badi jaal mai phas chuka hai...par humaari ek aur koshish naa kaamiyaab....maine toh thaan li thi jab tak mai tumhaare shahadat ka badla nahi leti mai yeh ring nahi pehnungi aur waise hi hua.'
Monami looked at Karan, a tear glided down his eye she softly wiped it with 'Par you know what inn sab mai ek baat realise huyi mujhe ke mera tumhaare liye pyaar kam nahi hua tha bas thousand nahi infinite times badh gaya tha, uk even though I missed you I was proud of you for because you had scarificed your life for the country. I was happy ki mera pyaar tumhaari weakness nahi banna, khushi thi iss baat ki....ki mera pyaar bhale hi tumhe protect na kar paaya ho maut se but mai tumhaare saath thi jab tumhe meri zaroorat thi. Shayad mai woh moment kabhi na bhul pau shayad woh bomb blast woh gussa frustration woh pain mai kabhi na bhul pau...Par ek baat ka ghum tha mai tumhaari brave girl nahi bann payi.' Monami said looking down not able to meet eyes with Karan.
Karan couldn't comprehend all that had been shared with him, he had hurt Monami deeply but it wasn't intentional nor was it inevitable. He was a commando and going on Missions was something that was a part of him. He knew Monami understood it better than no one, but sometimes emotions come in the way....they don't ruin it but rather strengthen the situation. It becomes a determination to come back, come back victorious from the situation for the motherland who had given him everything and the person who's awaiting you back at home who was his everything. And he was very proud of his Rani Saheba, for the way she had handled herself, his family and the mission.
'Rani Saheba look at me...' Karan called her out rubbing her arms in comfort, she shook her head in negative he let out a sigh and shook his head affectionately at her antics ; he cupped her face and made her look into his eyes.
'Look at me in the eyes Rani Saheba, and meri baat ab tum dhyaan se sunno aur joh bhi meh kahunga usse apne dil aur dimaag mai stamp karwa lena, I am very very proud of you Rani Saheba...not only because tum meri fiance ho but tum meri best cadet ho, and guess what tumne yeh prove bhi kar diya ki tum meri best caadet ho bataya mujhe Batra sir ne kaise tumne itne gundo ki pitaai ki kaise Charu ko shoot kiya....mujhe toh ab dar lagne laga hai, kahi tumne mujhe bhi unn gundo ki tarah peet diya toh agar maine tumhe gussa dila diya toh.' He tried joking to lighten the moment and he was successful as Monami gave a teary chuckled. Karan smiled looking at her small smile, that's a victory a small smile better than nothing. 'See sach kahunga aur yeh baat toh tumhe bhi patah hai I'm a soldier life ki gurantee nahi hai, par jitni bhi life hai woh tumhaare saath spend karna chahta hu. Every day won't be a bed of rose petals, thorns toh honge hi par ek baat pakki yeh thorns tumhe chot nahi pohochayenge we will get through everything together. And that's a Karan Shergill promise to his to be wife.'
'And you Dr. Monami Mahajan Shergill get this straight tumne sahi kaha tha tumhaare pyaar mujhe protect karega isliye toh mai yaha hu tumhaare saath, maut ko chod kar aagaya wapas tumhaare liye tumhaare pass. Aur rahi baat tum meri sabse brave girl ka woh toh tum ho hi jiss tarah se tumne sabkuch sambhala, tumhaari training tumaare emotions, meri family, mission iss se toh sabit hota hi hai ki tum kitni brave ho. Agar koi aur hota toh haar maan jaata situation se par tum unn situation se bhi lad gayi aur mujhe tum par bohot bohot garv hai. And trust me you are and will be my brave girl always until....' Karan trailed off Monami who had been looking at him tearfully with love in her eyes soaking in each and every word he said actually made her feel better about everything. But when Karan trailed off she looked at him with a slight angry pout, 'Until what Khadoos Shergill ?'
'Until Seona comes?' Karan said with a deadpan face, Monami got irked listening to the name Seona 'Seona who Karan? Don't tell me tumhaari koi girlfriend hai.' She said while hitting on his chest.
Karan laugher at her 'Shaant Rani Saheba shaant.' he said while catching hold of her tiny fists 'Tum apni hi beti se jealous ho rahi ho too bad Rani Saheba.' He said winking at her a witty smile adorning his lips. Monami blushed at his comment and hugged him to hide her face which was starting to pinken up.
'Tumhe nahi lagta tum kuch zyada hi soch rahe ho? Naam bhi soch liya aur yeh bhi ki beti hi hogi.' Monami said while hugging him tightly and looking at him still in the embrace.
'Ji haan abh itna kuch hogaya hai ki future planning bhi karne laga hu, kyuki Kal ho na ho...waise ek baat batau.' Karan said while Monami nodded looking at him with eager eyes awaiting to hear what he had to say 'Waise toh abhi bohot time hai mere planning ke hisaab se par agar aap chahe toh hum abhi Seona ke liye try kar-' Karan couldn't complete as a blushing Monami slapped her hand over his mouth.
'Tum kuch zyaada hi besharam nahi ban gaye ho?' Monami asked trying to keep a fake anger face but her blushing face was totally contradicting it.
'Arrey agar mai sharmaane baith gaya toh Seona toh exist hi nahi karegi kabhi. Aur tum mujhe besharam keh rahi hu, aaj shaam ko kisne mujh pai attack kiya tha huh.' Karan said referring to the heated kiss they had shared in Karan's room.
'KARAN!' Monami gasped and hugged Karan again snuggling into his chest to hide her blushing face.
'Monami bass aese hi hasti rehna, khadoos avatar tumpe suit nahi karta aur waise bhi jaise do baatein, Rani Saheba mera copyright hai waise hi Khadoos Shergill banna bhi mera copyright hai.' Karan said while kissing Monami's head tightening the embrace, and he knew Monami too was smiling as she nodded her head in agreement.
'Monami meri ek baat sunogi?' Karan said while breaking the embrace and looking into her eyes.
Okay guys here's the update I hope it was readable.
I feel emotional stuff isn't exactly my thing...but I've tried my best at it. Lemme know if this was rushed or stupid or didn't make sense at all. I've given my best yet I feel it's not upto the mark.
Also this was long update if you got bored bata dena... I'll try my best to avoid the long updates.
