Your pov
I wake up from another nightmare about King being alone and lost. I brought my knees up to my chest and buried my head in my knees as I felt my tears fall from my eyes. It's been three weeks since King went missing and we've found no clues. After a few minutes of silently crying, I felt something hot land on my shoulder making me look over at p/n who was sat on my shoulder, rubbing it's head against my neck. I slightly smile at the affection then I look outside to see it was raining
I mumble: I hope King is somewhere warm and dry
P/n chirps as I heard the door open
Camila: y/n, it's time to- King will be fine. If you want, we can search for him after work?
I nod then looked at the human
Camila: come down, I'm making breakfast
I wipe my tears, climbed down the ladder, not really wanting to jump off, then followed her downstairs, not really bothered to get changed. We enter the kitchen to see Luz, Vee, and Hunter eating. I sit next to Vee as Camila served me some french toast then I began to eat it, quickly. Once Luz was done eating, Camila and her said "bye" to us before leaving for school or work
Vee: what shall we do today?
I ignore Vee, placed my now empty plate on the counter before running upstairs and into Luz's room. I put my hat on
Me: p/n, stay here
It chirps as it tilts it's small cute head
Me: fire and rain don't mix
It flies onto the banister of the upper half of the bed
Me: I'll be back soon
I leave the room and went into the kitchen. I was about to walk out but Vee stopped me
Vee: where are you going?
Me: to find King
Vee: you aren't gonna get changed?
Me: that'll waste time. I need to find King
I exit through the back door then began to run towards the town. Once I got there, it was noon so I enter one of the shops where we put one of the missing King posters. I walked over to the poster that is now missing
Brain: where is it?
I walked over to the cashier
Me: hey, where's the missing poster of King?
???: some guy said, you guys had found him
That made my blood boil
I almost shout: who?!
???: a burly guy in a suit
Me: do you know where he went?
The girl pointed in a direction so I exit the store before walking in the pointed direction. As I walked, I asked random people where the man in the suit went, and most of them gave me directions. Eventually, I found the man with all the missing posters in his hands entering a large building surrounded by a large fence. I spot two guards outside the fence by the gate. I walk over to the two
Guard1: do you have business with the O'claires?
Me: yeah
Guard2: and that is?
I snap: one of your guys have taken all my missing posters down of King!
The guards look at me with a "are you serious" face. One of them sighs
Guard2: listen, if they want the posters down. They want them down. Nothing you can do about it
I glare at both of the guards with the large fence in my peripheral vision, giving me an idea
Guard1: is there anything else?
I stormed off then once I was far enough, I began to make my way to the back of the fence
Kings pov
I was laying on that girls lap with her petting my now clean fur. All I wanted to do was go back to y/n, go home and see that annoying bird tube, and cry over Eda. But, I can't, if I moved away from her or tried to escape or even cried, I'd get shocked with the collar that's around my neck. I've even tried to take it off, but I'd get shocked
Human says in a high pitched voice: now, Cooper. How pretty am I?
I was about to answer but one of her butlers came in, holding a bunch of papers. The human angrily stands up, making me fall to the floor
Human: Francois! What are you doi-
I blocked her out as I thought of Francois, my greatest minion. I let out a sigh
Brain: I really miss him
I could feel my tears coming back but out of fear, I held them back. I was brought out of my thoughts when that human girl picks me up. She sits down and forces me to lay on her lap
Human: good, you are dismissed
The man leaves as the human starts to pet me, again
Human says in a high pitched voice: now, how pretty am I?
I say annoyed: there are no words to describe your beauty
The human giggles
Human says in a high pitched voice: good boy. You deserve a treat
Your pov
I hop over the metallic fence and ran over to a bush, by the back of the house. I hid inside the bush and peered over the window to see no one in, so I tried to open the window but couldn't. I moved over to another window, looked into it to see no one, then tried to open it but couldn't. This went on for another five times that was until, I found a door making me pull the handle down to find it unlocked. I smirk and entered the building. I look around to see a small bed maybe for a pet, a massive box filled with toys, two bowls with one filled with water, a jar filled with bone-like objects sitting on a dresser, and two doors. One of the doors is the one that I had entered from. I open the door, slightly to see a girl about my age walking over holding something furry and black. I quickly entered the toy box since I'm not skilled enough to make myself invisible with illusion magic then the girl walked in. After a few seconds, I heard the girl speak
??? says in a high pitched voice: do you want a treat?! Do you want a treat?!
I hear a familiar groan
???2: yes
Brain: that voice!
I peek my head over the box to see the girl trying to open the jar then my eyes wandered over to the animal. It was King
I whisper: King
The demon looks around, confused. The girl looks back making me duck
???: ugh, I can never open this!
??? shouts: Francois!
There was a few seconds of silence
???: ugh, he's so useless
I hear a door lock
King: he is-
??? snaps: shut up!
Brain: oh no, you did not just tell my brother to "shut up"
I felt my anger rise inside of me so I peek my head over the box then drew a circle, making a root come out of the ground making the human trip. The human sits up
???: where did this come from?
The human groans as King mumbles something then the small king looks around as the human gets up, leaves the room, then locks the door. I get out of my hiding spot then King spots me making his tail wag
King: y/n!
He runs over as I crouch then we hug each other. Soon, we stop hugging
Me: why did you run away?
King began to cry and buried his head in my sleeve
King sobs: because, you... you kept m-mums death from... from me. I w-was annoyed but... but I want to go back. I... I want to live with you again
I pet his skull as I felt my own tears coming back
Me: I'm sorry. I was going to tell you the next day
He looks up at me
King sobs: really?
I nod and wiped his tears with my hands
Me: let's head back
The tiny king nods making me stand up. Suddenly, I heard the door unlocking so I got in a defense position and kept King behind me. The human girl walks in. Her eyes widen upon seeing me
??? growls: who are you?! And what are you doing in Coopers room?!
I begin to laugh
I laugh: Cooper?
???: what's wrong with Cooper?
After I stop laughing, I get back in a defensive position and glared at the human
Me: listen. His name is King
???: what kind of name is King? Also, he isn't yours. I found him on the streets, crying. I saved him
Me: then why is he behind me?
??? demands: Cooper, come here!
He was going to move, but stops so the human brings out a remote from her pocket. She presses a button making King whimper in pain. I quickly drew a circle making plants pin the human against the wall
???: what the hell?!
I walk over to her, easily grabbed the remote from her hands, and turned the device off. I walk over to King, took the collar off him, then threw the collar and remote out the window which shatters the glass. I smirk at the human with plans already coming to mind to torture her
Me: King, what shall we do to this human?
I walk over to her. She was about to yell so I pushed the plants over her mouth with magic
King: I just want to go home
I look at the king of demons then sighed and looked at the human
Me: another time then. King get on my shoulder, we're going back to Luz's
He does as he is told then I climb through the window, over the gate, before making our way to the Noceda house
King: I'm sorry for running. I was so mad and upset you hadn't told me-
Me: it's fine. Just don't do that again, you scared the hell out of me
King chuckles
King: right. What are we going to do now?
Me: go to Luz's house
King: I mean, are we still going back to the Boiling Isles?
Me: obviously
I stop, picked King off my shoulder, and looked into his large eyes
Me: listen, once we get back, we'll see Hooty again, then we'll make a plan to dethrone Belos or kill him. Got it?
He smiles, nods, then smiles evilly while rubbing his paws
King: and then I'll be the ruler!
He throws his tiny arms in the air making me laugh
Me: we'll see
I put him back on my shoulder then continued the walk back to the Noceda house. The rest of the walk was quite. We eventually entered the house, only to be greeted by p/n who flew over and landed on my free shoulder. I pet the small fiery bird before entering the living room to see Hunter watching tv. He looks over
Hunter: so, you found your pet
I roll my eyes
Me: where's Vee?
Hunter: shower
I sit next to the boy with King laying in my lap. I immediately began to pet his soft fur
Brain: why is Kings fur soft? His fur is never soft
I gasp in realisation
I say excitedly: did someone give you a bath?
King huffs, annoyed
King: unfortunately
I smile at him since no one could ever wash him fully. After a few minutes, Vee came in
Vee: you found him!
The basilisk sits next to me and begins to pet King with me
Vee: where was he?
Me: some massive building
Vee: what kind?
I shrug
A few hours later
I was still sitting on the sofa petting King and p/n, with Vee and Hunter on either side of me as well as King, who was now sleeping on my lap. My ears twitch as I hear the door open then close. After a minute or so, Luz and Camila enters
Luz: you found him!
She comes over, kneels in front of me, then began to pet the demon
Camila: where was he?
Me: some massive building
Camila nods then sits next to Vee
