Price's POV

The bed next to me was already empty since
y/n had developed the habit of getting up before anyone else. He and Ghost shared that in common and I wondered if the two of them had talked at all since yesterday. Today however was a day for work after y/n had left and I finished the call with Kate, Alejandro and I went to get the information we needed from Valeria. Makarov was here in Mexico, not to far from the warehouse y/n, Soap and Ghost had attacked. The location turned out to be a large farm mansion in the hills surrounded by vast open spaces but flanked on either side by large grassy hills. We would most likely move soon since we had to be quick, that's why we were meeting today in the main conference room. I got dressed quickly, brushing my teeth and putting on my hat. The main building of Alejandro's base was busy with the meeting room itself was already filled up. Y/n and his squad were already seated on one side while 141 along with Alejandro and Rudy were talking as the many screens on the wall switched from landscape to landscape.

"Fucking finally, thought you'd never wake up." Y/n laughed as I sat down next to him closest to the screen.

"Haven't even had my cup of tea yet." I groaned.

Kate appeared at the left hand top of the screen immediately getting down to business as everyone watched a overhead view of some buildings appear.

"Thanks to John and Alejandro's work getting information from Valeria we now know that Makarov is indeed in Mexico. Further information also reveals that the canisters 141 found are actually part of a much larger project, they hold toxic chemicals that if released would kill thousands. It is imperative that we secure those canisters before he can release them on Las Almas or any other target." Kate explained.

"What kind of resistance can we expect Kate?" Y/n asked.

"They will defend Makarov at all costs, overhead images revealed a few armed vehicles, heavily armed personnel and even a helicopter." Kate explained as the large house was marked with several dozen targets.

"That heli is going to be a problem if he makes it to the bird we will have a hard time going after him." Gaz stated with concern.

This whole situation wasn't ideal the grounds around this house were completely exposed with the helicopter on the roof being easy access for escape. If Makarov did manage to escape there was no telling how long it would be before we would be able to find him again.

"If we go in at night we will have a better chance of sneaking up, the issue here is the enormous amount of open area we have to cross before we even get to the house not to mention the defenses that are present."

Y/n was right, this wasn't going to be easy but I had an idea.

"What about approaching from the back side. We could make our way down the hills quietly and get around the heavy defenses concentrated at the front."

"That's a long way." Ghost mumbled.

"Simon has a point, the only cover we have is the grass but maybe we we used gillies and crawl. It would be a long way but we could go undetected until we reach the side doors to the house." Y/n added smiling at Ghost.

"That's a long way hermano, we will need night vision to be able to see. The walk to even get to those hills will be a long one since we can't risk anyone hearing the helicopters landing." Alejandro spoke up.

"We don't really have a better plan or time, the majority of those guns are pointed at the road we are at less of a risk if we go the long way." Y/n replied looking at Soap when he mentioned the lower risk part.

The planning took a majority of the day with everyone stating many concerns and opinions on how best to go about it. The end result was going to be difficult, two helicopters would land away from the house behind the hills dropping off Apex and Los Vaqueros behind one hill while another would drop Ghost, Gaz, Soap and I on the other side of the house, both teams would squeeze in and hopefully capture or kill Makarov. Since we had to get to the other side we had a longer trip and it was decided that we would start the operation tomorrow night.

Alejandro and Rudy went to get the helicopters ready for tomorrow while Apex went to make sure we had enough suits for the operation along with restocking all the equipment. That left Gaz, Soap, Ghost, y/n and I alone with Kate who was still on the screen. She had asked us to stay behind since she needed to tell us a bit more information about tomorrow's operation.

"Something isn't right about all this." Kate sighed running her hands through her hair.

"What do you mean?" Y/n asked.

"Makarov had these chemical weapons in Mexico but our Intel also says he has many resources in Russia along the border of the Caucus Mountains."

"Maybe he just has extra help and didn't think he'd need it?" Gaz questioned.

"I'm not so sure. If he is here in person wouldn't he bring all the man power he could?" Y/n replied.

"Kate what is in those mountains that he would have interest in?" I asked.

"There are rumors of old Soviet Union bases there along with abandoned oil rigs, our best guess is he is using one as his main HQ." She replied.

"Something isn't right about this..." Y/n whispered.

"Let's just focus on dealing with tomorrow. Whatever forces he has will scatter once he is dealt with." I stated standing and pulling out a cigar.

"Really?" Y/n groaned.

"Yes really." I glared back.

Y/n just rolled his eyes standing and placing a hand on Soap's shoulder as he said goodbye to Kate. He decided to look over the area some more to see if we had missed anything walking out of the room and down the hall. The rest of us stayed in the room talking over our part of the plan after Kate's screen went dark and she said goodbye. Soap and Ghost seemed to be doing better and I assumed the three of them had talked everything over but Gaz seemed a bit on edge.

"You okay kid?" I questioned as Kyle fidgeted with his hands.

"Nervous cap."

"We've done this type of thing before Gaz." I replied.

"I know but this Makarov guy just feels different from all the others. More evil and calculated compared to Hassan."

He had a point and every right to be on edge. I myself was anxious about what could go wrong but I trusted Kate's Intel and y/n's leadership. Makarov definitely felt worse than anyone I had faced before, he felt like pure evil with his plans for the world just gut wrenching. We had to stop him before his work could reach a point of no return and this was our best opportunity. Gaz excused himself stating he wanted to talk to y/n and help him look over the maps again. Soap and Ghost were also wanting to get some training in but I decided to sit them down before they could leave.

"Hold it right there." I called out blowing out a smoke ring.

They both stopped before they could walk out the door and escape the conversation.

"Close the door and sit down."

"Everything okay sir?" Soap asked.

"Sit."

They walked back over sitting across from me with confused looks or in Simon's case the same blank stare.

"I know about you two and my son."

Soap looked like he wanted to jump off the roof and Simon's eyes were wider than usual. I just smirked slowly blowing out another ring and leaning back in the chair.

"Gho-"

"Zip it sergeant." I interrupted Soap who was now sliding down his chair attempting to hide under the table.

"Did he tell you?" Ghost asked.

"No, you muppets just can't hide it very well."

"Fuck." Soap mumbled.

"I'm not mad, but you should be aware of his past and judging my your interactions this morning I would say you three worked everything out."

"You aren't mad?" Soap asked sitting back up.

"No Soap. If anything I hope it works out for you all. Ghost needs more compassion in his life and ever since our first trip to Las Almas you have pulled him out of his shell and rather gently too. Y/n is a good person and you three clearly get along well so don't do something stupid."

"So is this like us getting your blessing Price?" Soap raised a eyebrow at me.

"Sure I officially give you my blessing to date my son Soap and Ghost." I laughed putting out my cigar.

"He's special to us." Ghost spoke.

"He's special to me too. I know you'll protect each other from whatever comes your way." I smiled standing and crossing to their side of the table.

"We promise nothing will ever hurt him again, I promise nothing will ever hurt him again." Ghost stated clenching his fist.

"I know Ghost." I replied

"Thanks sir." Soap smiled.

"Consider this your dad talk from me but if you break his heart or hurt him I'll kill you myself and I better never walk in on anything!" I stated heading for the door.

"Heh good thing you didn't come to our room last night." Soap mumbled.

"What was that?" I asked.

"Nothing Johnny just bit his lip!" Ghost replied punching Soap in the arm.

"Right."

3rd Person POV

"You are aware that they are coming right?"

"They won't make it, we leave in 2 days and the cartel leader won't crack so easily."

"I hope you're right otherwise our plans are ruined Makarov!"

"The chemicals will be moved to the docks and then transported back to Las Almas, 141 will think we have run off with them when in reality they never will leave."

"Do not underestimate 141 Makarov we can not let all this go to waist."

"Not to worry our soldiers have been fitted with new equipment so we will have a advantage."

"What about the other project?"

"We are still working on getting it operational but my estimate is less than a week."

"You'd better hope they never find it."

"They won't because our soldiers in Las Almas will kill every last one of them. 141, Mexican Special Forces and Apex will die in that wasteland."

"I will contact you again when we reach the docks."
