Fallen Tulkan

Is been a little over a few week since Kiri gave me that antibiotics and it has done wonders. I got a nasty scar but it's healed and I'm feeling better.

We all started doing this habit that stuck to keep it subtle.  One of the family members would whistle to make sure I was okay or to ask and if I was I'd whistle back and vise versa.  I let them know I hated the question so we came up with an alternative.  I heard whistles the most from Neteyam for both physical and mental if I'm okay.

I stopped having babysitter and was able to be left alone. I took the chance to go into the forest and back to my lab.

I walked into the lab and took of my mask and sat down. On my bed. I took the chance to wash myself and change. My braids fell out a long time ago that Kiri and Tuk gave me. I was back to my long hair and had to take care of it.

I stepped into the shower feeling the water clean my body and hair. It felt nice to have a second to myself. I needed to think by myself.

I stepped out of the shower and quickly got dressed and sat back down on my bed. Why was I a protector? What was I supposed to do?

I laid on my bed for a while just thinking.

*Click* I heard a few times on my window followed with a whistle. I sat up whistling back and was met with Neteyam. I ran outside and gave him a hug.

"Hey I wanted to see if you wanted to come over to our hut today, I know you've been there a lot but Tuk really loves you being around," Neteyam said.

"Is Tuk the only one who wants me to come over?" I asked him smiling and teasing.

"No, I also want you there along with the family," Neteyam told me pulling away.

"I'll come if you can catch me," I said before darting off into the woods. I knew everything about these woods and I was ready to live again.

I climbed up a tree with Neteyam behind me, I looked down at him and smiled before grabbing a vine and swinging myself leaning my head back laughing. I've never laughed so much. I went from tree to tree with him right behind me.

I got to a clearing and looked behind me to see him smiling and following me. I looked forward and saw the big leaves of plants by me. I smiled and threw myself down them. I used the leaves to slow myself to hit the ground.

"You know my mom did the same thing to my dad," Neteyam yelled from above smiling.

"Well let's hope you got your moms skills," I yelled back at him standing at the bottom. He smiled and jumped. He wasn't too graceful but wasn't the worst.

Right as he hit the ground I jumped on him and covered his eyes. I could feel him smile and I let his face go. He carried me on his back out of the woods and back to the hut.

"You know you've never told me your favorite color," Neteyam said.

"It used to be dark green or dark red," I said then continued, "recently its been blue and yellow," I told him in his ear. "But what's yours?" I asked him.

"Easily it's y/eye/c," he said pointing out the fact that it's the color of my eyes. All I could do was smile.

We got back to the hut and he put me down and we were all sitting around chatting.

"I'm glad you're back to yourself y/n"  Jake told me and everyone agreed.

"I feel that way too, I couldn't stand being weak," I told them smiling.

"You weren't weak, you were hurt," Neteyam told me.

"I was weak because I got hurt, but I was still weak," I told him giving him a slightly sarcastic look.

"I think you were really strong," Tuk told me which caused me to smile and grab her hand to say thank you.

"Yeah I would have just laid there and not done anything but you kept fighting," lo'ak said to me.

We laughed a little more and just sat around like a family.  I felt apart of this family.  I have almost no words of how lovely it felt to be with everyone.

It was like bad luck was following me and we heard commotion outside.  Jake looked at us and told us to stay but he knew we wouldn't.  We followed him out as we saw Ronal and the chief riding out into the water.

Jake and Neytiri hopped on his swimwing and lo'ak and Tsireya hoped on his Ilu, Kiri and Tuk got on hers and I was still with Neteyam.

He called his Ilu and hoped on with me right behind him.  We rode out into the ocean with everyone and stopped when we saw the fallen Tulkan.  My heart sunk with the sight.

Ronal swam over to her spirit sister and begun crying.  She looked over to Tonowari with hurt in her eyes.

"What is this Toniwari," she asked sobbing.  I saw Tsireya crying and but I was determined to not cry given the sad circumstance.  Everyone was scared and hurt.

Ronal looked at the calf with it that also passed and she began sobbing more.

"She waited many breeding cycles to have the calf," Ronal said.

We didn't know what to do.  We were all speechless and we knew exactly who did this.  Ronal and the chief begun to swim back after morning the loss of the Tulkan

Neteyam swam over on the Ilu and pulled the tracker out of it and held onto it.  We slowly followed the chief and his wife back to shore.

She was ready for war and I could tell this is what was coming.  We walked into the meeting area and so many people were already there.

I stood next to Neteyam holding onto him and he put his arm around me.   He whistled and I whistled back. This didn't happened to me and if it did the answer would have been different but even then, it's still sad to see and it shouldn't of happened.

There were so many things being said I couldn't keep up.  Jake started to look defeated as he was trying to explain himself about the sky people.

People were ready for a war and starting to act crazy.  I looked over and saw Tsireya there crying next to Lo'ak and she looked scared.  None of us wanted this.

I looked at Neteyam still holding the tracker.  I pulled it out of his hand and walked over to Jake.  I kept eye contact with Jake walking up by his side.

"This is a tracker, if your Tulkan are hit with this they are marked for dead."  I yelled getting everyones attention holding up the tracker.

I looked at Neteyam he was just staring at me questioning what I was doing.

"The sky people are ruthless and they will get what they want without care!" I yelled, " my parents died trying to protect pandora and they killed them for it right in front of me!" Everyone's eyes were completely on me and I decided to let Jake take over by stepping back.

"You guys need to tell your Tulkans to leave and to stay safe!"  Jake said looking around, "or else they will die," he finished looking around.

Everyone looked scared now and the chief dismissed them to leave and tell the Tulkan everything and they did as he said.

Jake looked at me, "thank you," he mouthed and pulled me into a side hug.  We all knew what was coming.  All of the Sully's walked over into a hug.

"Y/n I'm going to need you to go back into the forest," Jake told me and I gave him a dirty look, "no?" I told him, and he got a look from everyone else.  "I'm going to need you to take Tuk too and you guys need to stay safe."

"Absolutely not Ma'Jake," Neytiri said to him.  "We are not splitting up the family,"

"I'm not leaving, I am a valuable team mate right now, an advantage," I told Jake looking at him and glanced at Neteyam.  He agreed with his dad.

"You're supposed to agree with me Neteyam..." I said disappointed and upset.

I looked at Neytiri for help pleading, "Eywa chose her for a reason Jake, she is staying," she said to him and he huffed.  Haha we win.

"Fine, but I want you to be smart, no going out alone and and just be careful," Jake told me and I smiled.  I could tell there was no way I was leaving Jake or Neteyams sight now.

If they fight, I fight and that's the end of that.  I could tell Jake was stressed so I was going to obliege with him but I also wasn't going to sit and wait in the hut for them to attack.

I am a protector, I may not know what from or how to what, but I will protect what I can.
