His lips were like velvet.

I say that because his lips are colliding slowly with mine in a soft, smooth and rhythmic motion.

His lower lip collides with my upper lip. Then his upper lips collide with mine.

I almost forget that we are currently seated inside of a Photo Booth when his right hand trails up my side.

"Let's get photos!" Someone's shrill voice said from outside of the Photo Booth, causing Grayson and I to part at an instance.

We readjust ourselves and hastily make our way out of the Photo Booth, collecting our photos and going on our way.

"Should we get something to eat?" Grayson asks.

"Sure." I reply.

"Alright, you find us a table and I will go and get some food."

"Okay." I say.

He walked over to the nearest food vendor whilst I found us an empty table. I take a seat and set the pictures from the Photo Booth down on the table. As I waited for Grayson to return with food, I stare down at pictures while in thought.

How did we go from hating each other, to spontaneously making out, to being in a secret relationship?

This was moving all too fast.

I couldn't help but wonder if what was happening between us was some kind of ploy. Maybe Grayson made some kind of bet to see if he could get the guy who hated him most to fall in love with him. Well, not in love, per-say, more like, 'in like' with him.

God, I watch too many damn movies, I am beginning to sound like an idiot.

The pictures are nice, though. I looked so different. Happy.

There's one where I am looking directly into the camera with a weird face, while Grayson is looking at me, a smile on his face.

Before Grayson, I never thought that I would ever develop feelings for someone. I always assumed there was something wrong with me. But now, there's complicated feelings involved.

And I didn't know how I felt about that.

All I knew was that there is something about Grayson.

I was so stuck in my own thoughts, I didn't even notice when he had sat down on the other side of the table until he had placed a basket of fries in-between us, along with two cups.

"I got us fries and two colas." He says, shoving a handful of fries into his mouth.

"Thanks." I gave an appreciative smile.

"Today is kinda fun, huh?" He takes a loud slurp from his cola.

"Way better than school." I tell him.

His face turns serious. "Why don't you want to go to school? Haven't you missed like, a bunch of days already?"

"Who are you? A truancy officer?" I furrowed my brows.

"No, but don't you wanna go to a good college?"

"Grayson, I don't want to talk about school." I warned him, pushing the basket of fries away from me and towards him.

If I wanted to talk about school, I would be at bloody school.

"Sorry." He says, averting his gaze.

I take a sip from my cola.

"So, how are your friends?" He asks.

"Are you initiating small talk?" I wondered.

"Maybe?"

I chuckled before answering his question. "Well, we made up. I'm still annoyed, but what good does that do anyone? They're my friends." I look Grayson in the eyes.

"And what about the one who has a crush on you?"

Wait.

Is he jealous?

Of Cody?

"What about him?"

"Do you like him back?" He asked.

"Cody is my best friend. But, no, I don't like him like that." I tell Grayson. "Why? Is Grayson Evander Scott jealous?"

"Why do you have to call me by my full name?" He groaned, rolling his pretty blue eyes.

"Would you rather I'd call you Graysie?" I laughed. He kicked my right foot from under the table.

I gasped.

"Did you just kick me?" I scowled at him.

"What's the matter, Dally?" He fake pouted.

I, in return, kick him in his leg from under the table. "Don't call me that."

"Then don't call me Graysie."

"Fine." I laugh.

After eating, we head over to the carnival games to find one that we would both enjoy. We walk past that game where you have to throw a dart at a balloon when Grayson pauses. "Do you wanna play this one?" He asked.

"No." I tell him. "I hate balloons."

It's true. I have never liked balloons, for as long as I can remember. You never know when they're going to pop, and they're so loud!

I just, I hate it!

"This one looks fun." I tell him, pointing to the one on the other side. It was a basketball one where you had to shoot a certain amount of hoops to win a prize. I know that I am anything but athletic, but how hard can it be to score?

"Okay, let's do it." He says.

We head towards it and he hands the lady working there some money.

"You ready?" He turned to me and asked.

"Yes!" I say, psyching myself up.

At the sound of a dinging noise, which I assume is the sound of the game starting, I throw a ball towards my hoop. It misses.

"Shit." I say, reaching for another basketball to throw.

The answer to my earlier question, it is very hard to score. I try my best to get a score, but to no avail, meanwhile Mr 'I Do Sports' over here hasn't missed a single shot.

"Well played." Said the lady to Grayson.

I had the urge to mock her. What can I say, I am a sore loser.

"I'll take the giant panda." Grayson says.

The lady reaches for a stuffed giant panda toy before returning to hand it to Grayson.

"Thanks for playing." She says.

"Thanks, bye." Said Grayson.

As we slowly start to walk away, he handed to giant panda bear to me.

"What?"

"Do you want it?" He asked.

"That's okay, I'm sure your little brother or sister might want it." I tell him.

"They'll just fight over who gets to keep it." He says. "Go ahead, take the panda."

"What if I don't want a panda?"

"Then I'll go and exchange it for a toy that you do want." He says.

I roll my eyes at him before taking the giant panda. "Fine. Thanks."

"You are just so very welcome." He smiled at me.

There's that smile.

"What are you going to name it?" He wondered.

"Hmmm." I gave it some thought. "I'm thinking... Pongo."

"Like, from One Hundred and One Dalmatians?"

"Exactly!" I say. "Love that movie."

I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket and pull it out to check.

It was a text from Lucy.

Lucy:
Mitchell knows you skipped.

Sorry, I tried to cover for you but then Jake accidentally let it slip that he hasn't seen you today.

I groaned. "Shit."

"Is everything okay?" Grayson asked.

"Mitchell knows I skipped school, again." I say.

"You worried he will tell your parents?"

"He'd better not. After years of not ratting him out, I've collected more than enough blackmail to bring him down with me." I say.

Grayson chuckled as I texted Lucy back.

Me:
Okay. Thx for the heads up!

After sending the text, Grayson takes my phone from me and holds it in the air.

"Grayson! Give it back!" I demanded.

"Wait, let me just.."

He better not be going through my phone!

He clicks on something then holds the phone up so that it is taking a selfie of us. "Smile!" He says.

"You are so lame." I tell him when he hands the phone back to me.

"You're lame." He gives the classic third-grade retort.

"So, what are you doing this Friday?" He asked.

"Hmm, I don't know. Why?" Was my answer.

"I was going to throw a party after the game." He says. "And was hoping that you would come."

"Yeah, I don't think so." I tell him, holding my new giant panda in my left arm while slipping my phone into my pocket with my right hand. "I'm kind of over partying."

And I was.

"Oh... okay." He says, dejectedly.

"I can come, if you want me to."

"Nah, that's alright." He assured me.

"I'll definitely come to the game, though." I say.

He ruffled my hair. "You'd better."

I smacked his hand away. "Stop being so lame."

"You know you love it when I'm lame." He says.

I laughed at him.

The rest of the day was amazing. I had arrived home just in time to see Mitchell pull into the driveway. Luckily, Grayson had parked around the block, which left me to carry this giant ass Panda all the way home. I know that it's stuffed, but it's still pretty heavy as shit.

"Where the hell were you today?" He asked, seething.

Okay Dallas, think of a lie. You can do it!

"I was.... visiting Grandma." I lied.

"Oh, you were?"

"Yep. She even gave me this gigantic panda." I prolonged the lie.

"Oh, okay."

Damn, I can't believe he bought that.

He is so gullible.

"Still, you can't just keep skipping school!" He says as I start towards the house.

"Yes, I know." I rolled my eyes. "School is soooo important!" My tone was hella sarcastic.

I drag my stuffed panda toy upstairs and decide to have a quick shower.

After showering and dressing comfortably into a pair of pajamas, I head downstairs and see dad and my mom seated in the living room.

"Oh my god, hi mom!" I say excitedly.

"Hey Dal." She says, forcing on a smile.

Chemo must've done a number on her.

"Doctors said she could come home, and spent hours cleaning it today." Dad says. "As long as it's kept clean, and nobody gets sick or anything, all will be fine."

"Okay. I'm glad your home." I say.

"Where's Mitchell?" I ask.

"He had football practice." Dad says.

Oh. I almost forgot he was a wannabe athlete.
