Vega's POV
"Wow! you have guns in this bag that can only be used by the military, Bro"
"You've chosen a high-precision rifle. Get another one, Macau. This one is difficult for you."
"Don't worry, I know how to use one of this pretty well. Arm taught me."
Macau reloads and manipulates the riffle easily.
"You really like this guy, huh."
"He's the best...after you, of course!
"Sure..."
"Have you forgotten I took down several enemies in that harbor?
"Mhmm...you did a good job, Macau. Shoot anything that moves. We're arriving at the mansion."
"Which way is this?"
"It's a hidden route, behind the mansion. Another car is heading down the main road."
"Oh! We'll take them by surprise!"
"Yes."
"Look, bro! There's a shadow of someone there!"
We see a man on the side of the road waving one of his arms to stop us. With the other arm, he holds a baby. I can distinguish that high-pitched cry anywhere.
"It's Nop and Venice!"
I stop the car immediately in front of Nop and get out to check on them.
Nop is panting. Venice cries tearfully in his lap.
Unexpectedly, Venice extends his arms to me, asking for my lap.
"Nop, is it just you?" I pick Venice up, patting him on the back to calm him down. "Where's Pete?
"And Arm??" Macau adds.
"They left first together, Khun Vegas."

Pete's POV (15 minutes before)
We reached the mansion's exit, as Assistant Lee had said. The exit looks like a storm drain, so it doesn't arouse suspicion. Has Vegas never heard of this exit?!
"What are we going to do now?" Arm asks.
Assistant Lee removes a dark blanket from a car parked under a bush.
"Let's take the old road... Probably the main road is being watched. Soon they will come after us."
"Pete...Khun Vegas is coming...I know he's coming! We shouldn't go with her."
"Have you talked to Vegas? When? How? There was no phone signal at the mansion."
"I used the emergency phone...analogue...before we found you."
"Vegas is smart...he knows this route...he'll come down the old road..."
"Yes, Pete...he's coming soom."
"Nop... as long as Venice is with us, he's in danger. You and Arm will take the old road with Venice. Stay a little way off the road, behind the trees, until Vegas find you. I'm going with Assistant Lee down the main road."
"But, Pete...the mercenaries will come after you." Arm alerts me.
"Yes...they will...but they won't come after you."
"Well...this will be fun...come on, Pete. Please, get in." Assistant Lee asks me to get in the car.
"Pete, wait Khun Vegas please! Call him!" Nop begs again.
"I can't. They shot Venice in the crib mercilessly, Nop. I won't risk his life again."
Nop approaches me and whispers in my ear.
"What if it's all a trap planned by this Assistant Lee to take you from us? What if the mercenaries were hired by Khun Sanya?"
"I'll take this risk."
"I'm going with you, Pete!" Arm approaches me. "And nothing will change my mind."
"Ok...but give your phone first, Arm."
"...but...my phone is dead."
"Give me your phone anyway."
I take Arm's phone and put it on the floor. With one shot, the device is destroyed. Main family phones are traced.
"Pete, we have to go" Assistant Lee approaches us. "If you want to protect your baby, you better hurry."
I hug and kiss Venice, who starts crying and grabbing my shirt.
"Go, Nop! Don't look back. Do as I say. Protect Venice until Vegas get to you."
Arm sits in the back seat of the car.
I sit in the front with Assistant Lee behind the wheel.
...
Vega's POV
"Don't you know where they went, Nop?" Macau asks worriedly.
"I've told you everything I know, Khun Macau."
The team leader who followed the main road calls me.
["Khun Vegas, there are two vehicles overturned on the main road...the occupants are dead. Mercenaries. There's no sign of Khun Pete or Arm.]
Pete and Arm managed to save themselves...
"Head to the mansion." I order him. "Control the situation there...warn Porsche to take measures to keep the police away."
There are probably no more mercenaries in the mansion.
I hang up the call.
Whether against his will or not, Pete will leave the country. Nop, have you located the hangar where Sanya's second private jet is?
"Yes, Khun Vegas. Oh!! They are probably..."
"Get in the car, Macau! Nop, take Venice to the main family house...Tankhun will take care of him."
I look at Venice who has been quiet ever since he came to my lap, just tearful. He seems to understand the situation.
"Don't worry, son...I'll bring daddy back." I kiss Venice's forehead and hand him to Nop.

Through the investigations I ordered Nop to make, he located a hangar where Sanya keeps a second private jet for secret flights.
When we arrive at the hangar, the jet is taxiing on the runway, preparing to take off.
"What shall we do now, hia? The jet will take off!"
"Get that weapon ready, Macau...I'll approach the jet...shoot the turbine."
"OMG, what weapon is this? Is it to shoot down airplanes?"
"There are only two ammo shells. Be careful not to shoot the fuel tank, so the jet doesn't explode."
"W-what???...I don't know if I can..."
"Listen to me Macau. Arm trained you. Take this and aim for the engine." I accelerate as much as I can without harming the stability of the car, so that Macau can shoot.
"God...maybe we should switch places..."
I turn to him slightly. He's still unsure.
"There's no time. We can't lose the ones we love. You can do it. "
"Okay. Let's get them back."
Macau puts half of his body out of the window.
A car from Sanya's bodyguards comes towards us shooting non stop. I lose some control of the car and Macau loses his balance.
"Fuck!" Macau misses the first shot, which destroys one side of the landing gear that was starting to come off the ground.
With one hand I try to control the steering wheel and the other I hold him by his clothes. Macau get back inside de car.
"Are you okay, Macau?!"
"Yes. Get closer, Bro!"
"I switch hands from the steering wheel, freeing one hand to shoot the car in front of us so they don't hit Macau. I shoot the car windshield to pieces with a machine gun.
Macau gets out of the car again and aims to the engine.
"BOOM"
The jet's turbine starts to catch fire. The landing gear, partially destroyed, hits the ground again until the jet finally stops.
I stop the car in front of the exit of the jet. Two cars full of my bodyguards manage to detain Sanya's oncoming bodyguards.
Macau and I take our rifles and aim for the Jet's exit, which opens.
A female figure...that Assistant Lee...appears at the exit of the jet, down the stairs.
"How are you, Khun Vegas?!" She smiles at me just like dead for good nanny Jenny used to.
I just hate these creepy women Sanya hires.
"You should know by now that I have no problem killing a woman. Release Pete and Arm."
I point at her head.
"You can send your team up or check it out yourself, Khun Vegas. They are not here."
...
Pete's POV
A waiter brings me and Arm some fresh water.
"No thanks."
We both decline.
"Haha...don't be afraid...it's not poisoned."
The smiling boy grab the glass and takes a sip himself then offer to Arm, who is very thirsty.
I nod to him to drink it.
"You're very handsome, you know...?!" he says to Arm, smiling lewdly.
"Cough, cough!" Arm chokes on water, feeling embarrassed. "Thanks...uh...for the water..."
"Haha...cute...so..." He turns to me. "I was surprised by your contact, Pete. Someone taught you the trick of turning the invitation crown to call for help, huh."
Jade wiggles the crystal piece with his fingertips...the queen of Jade he gave me as an invitation card.
"I know you don't want me to get to the white king. And I don't want that either. Just take us to the chess room."
"As you wish."
Through the window of the jet, the lights that illuminate Bangkok are left behind.

Hello guys!
We have reached the end of the first part of this fanfic. Originally it will have four parts.
The next part will be in Taiwan.
I changed chapter 18 - From ashes, from broken pieces., removing the snippet referring to Daemi's VegasPete novel.
This change will not harm this plot. It won't be convenient to keep the link to the novel as many answers will probably not be answered in VegasPete's novel...maybe in KP's novel next year. In this way, it would damage my plot.
I apologize for the confusion that may be in your heads because of me.
I believe the link is subtly maintained with Pete and Kinn's suspicions, but I won't be able to explore this subject in my fanfic.
