— Chapter 26 —
"Lee Haneul! I told you to get up before 9, we're running late because of you!" Domin said while driving on the road.
Haneul had woken up late today since she, Chenle and Haechan were playing PUBG last night and stopped at 1 AM.
"Well blame Chenle, he's the one who asked us to play. It wasn't even intentional that we ended at 1 AM, we lost track of the time okay?"
"Still, you should've slept early than playing with those two idiots."
"Come on Domin, we're just 10 minutes late, what's wrong about that?"
"Haneul, we're not high school students anymore, remember that always will ya?" Haneul scoffed and decided to stay quiet since their quarrel won't stop any minute by now.
They both arrived at the hospital and they were immediately called by Bang Chan.
"I knew we were gonna get in trouble" Domin muttered and I rolled my eyes
"He didn't say that we are"
"Then why are we called by him?"
"I don't know I'm not Bang Chan—" Haneul's words were cutted by the door opening.
There, Domin's jaw dropped.
"Oh hey Haneul!" Jisung smiled while going inside the elevator
"SEE! I TOLD YOU DOMIN!"
"J-Jisung? Is that really you?"
"Uhh.. Yes? Do I know you?" Haneul noticed that Jisung was confused with what Domin had said.
"Uhmm, Jisung-ah.. Don't mind him. We just know somebody that has the same name as you and you both kinda look alike each other.."
"Oh, it's alright Haneul. I'm Park Jisung" He took his hand out for a handshake and Domin shook his head
"No Haneul, this is him. I mean, who would look like Jisung when this Jisung is a doctor while the Jisung we know is your guardian?"
"Domin, you just need rest" The elevator dinged and the door opened. Haneul dragged Domin and bid a quick goodbye to Jisung.
"Uhm.. bye?" Jisung muttered to himself and shook his head before exiting the small room.

"Dr. Chan, we're really sorry for coming late today. Haneul woke up late since she stayed up late last-"
"Shut up Domin. But we're really sorry for being late today. We're ready to accept any punishment from you"
"No it's alright Haneul and Domin. Actually I called you since I'm gonna assign you to your first patients. Don't worry, some doctors on their first day gets late too. I'm used to it" Dr. Chan chuckled and took out two folders.
"Okay guys, here are your first patients. For Haneul, your patient will be Moon Hyung Seo, he's in room 160. He has a liver cancer and he's about to get operated next month."
"And don't worry, you'll be working with Dr. Park. And for you Domin, you'll be assigned for Kim Jinae. She's in room 127 and she has anemia." He gave the envelopes to the both of them and they bowed
"Good luck on your first day guys!"

"Miss, can i ask where's Dr. Park?"
"Which Dr. Park ma'am? There are alot of Parks in this hospital"
"Uhm, the one assigned for Mr. Moon Hyung Seo? The patient with liver cancer in room 160"
"Oh, Dr. Park Jisung I assume. He's in his office Dr. Lee. Just go straight and turn left, the first door there is his office"
"Oh alright, thanks. Have a great day" She said before walking towards Jisung's office
'God why does it have to be him?' She whispered to herself and when she arrived at the front door, she hesitantly knocked and Jisung was fast enough to tell her to go in.
"Uhm, Good Morning Dr. Park. I'm the new doctor that will be assigned for Moon Hyung Seo with you." I said awkwardly and he chuckled
"Why do look so tense? Please sit down" She nodded and slowly walked towards the chair and sat down
"Can I see your files?" He asked and she immediately nodded then gave him the envelope.
"Hmm, okay. So are you ready for your first day?" He asked softly making her stare at him
"Hello? Earth to Haneul? I know I'm handsome but you can stare at my face later, we still have to deal a patient right now" He chuckled and Haneul scoffed
"Yeah right, I wasn't staring at you Dr. Park, I'm just sleepy, don't assume to much" She sassily said and Jisung ruffled her hair
'God does he know how much I missed him doing this to me?' She said in her mind and just rolled her eyes to cover her embarrassment.
"So are you ready Lee Haneul?"
"Ready as I'll ever be Park Jisung".

"Good morning Mr. Moon! Time to take your medicines!" Haneul cheerfully said and Hyung Seo just stared at her
"Oh right, let me introduce myself. I'm Dr. Lee Haneul and I'm working with Dr. Park. I'm new here that's why you didn't recognize my face" She said and bowed
"Oh, nice to meet you kid. And let me say, You and Dr. Park look nice together" He said and she blushed
"O-Oh uhm, I wasn't expecting that Mr. Moon haha! Anyways, here's your breakfast and your medicines, make sure you'll eat alot alright so you'll get well soon!" She smiled and Mr. Moon also smiled at her
"Really? Will I get better?"
"Of course Mr. Moon! Me and Dr. Park will do our best to cure you and we'll take reallyyy good care of you"
"You remind me of my granddaughter, she's like you Dr. Lee, kind, cheerful and beautiful. Thank you Dr. Lee"
"Where is your granddaughter anyway? If I may ask?"
"She's in Norway right now. I think you both share the same age. And she's a fashion designer. I haven't seen her for years already, I hope she'll come and visit me before I pass away"
"No Mr. Moon, you're still gonna live okay? Just think about positive things! Think about your granddaughter" She said and smiled
"Thank you again Dr. Haneul, I just met you today but I feel like I had met you for years already. I know you'll be a successful doctor soon" He said
"Can I give you a hug? I just miss hugging my granddaughter"
"Sure Mr. Moon" She sat on the bed and Mr. Moon hugged her tightly.
"Now you should eat and take your medicines alright Mr. Moon?"
"I will, and please call me grandpa. And can I call you Hannie?"
"Alright Grandpa."
"Haneul, it's time to go, we still have to go to Dr. Chan's office since we're having a meeting, you can come back here later. Mina will take care of Mr. Moon" Jisung said and she nodded
"We'll, go now Grandpa. Eat well alright, I'll come back later" She bowed and she and Jisung went out of the room
"You're really good with elders aren't you?"
"I'm really close with my grandparents ever since I was a kid. And I kinda grew fond with other elderlies since in the countryside there's not much kids like my age" She explained and Jisung nodded
"Wait, Dr. Chan didn't tell me that we're having a meeting today?"
"He just told me minutes ago through my phone. I assume he also texted you?" He said and she looked through her phone
"Right he did text me. I was having a great time with grandpa that's why I didn't notice the text"
"Are you having fun on your first day Haneul?"
"Yes I am Park Jisung"

"So these past few days, the ratings of our hospital has dropped. I don't know what happened but I hope you'll do your best this time, especially to the newbies." Dr. Chan said and the doctors nodded their heads
"Dr. Chan, I have a suggestion, what if we assign those newbies to hard tasks? In that way they can learn more" Hansung suggested
"No Dr. Min, it's more easy if we assign the newbies to easier tasks, don't be too harsh on them" Dr. Hwang debated
"Hyunjin, if newbies are assigned to easier tasks they won't learn!"
"Well big brain Hansung, think before you suggest anything will ya? Your opinions always brings the hospital down"
"Enough you two. It's more better if we stay the same. Let's observe the newbies first and let's decide whether they should be assigned to bigger tasks when they are finished with their current individual tasks, it'll be easier that way" Felix suggested and almost all of the doctors agreed
"Good point Felix. So does everybody agree to Felix's opinion?"
"Yes" The doctors said except for Hansung said
"Alright then, this ends our meeting here. You can now go back to your work" He dismissed the doctors and they all left the room
"Hey, don't you think Dr. Hansung is too harsh with newbies?" Haneul whispered to Jisung and Domin but they just chuckled
"Hansung is like that ever since my first day Haneul. He regretted trusting me for doing the operation alone. I failed that time and ever since that day, he despised all of the newbies"
"Oh, he has trust issues now huh?"
"Totally, and not gonna lie, he looks so dumb awhile ago. Nobody agreed to his opinion" The three laughed at Jisung's remarks.
"I gotta go now, I still have to check my patient's blood pressure, see you around Han and Ji" Domin said before separating from the two
"So.. should we go to grandpa's room?" Jisung asked and Haneul's eyes lit up
"Let's Go!"
