Stella was getting ready for work when she noticed her stomach hurt a bit but she didn't think much of it. Once she got to the firehouse she ate breakfast with everyone. Her stomach ache got a bit worse but she just chalked it up to stress. She took some Pepto and went on with her day. An hour later they got called out to a house fire. Stella rescued a 40-year-old man who passed out in the home from smoke inhalation. Once she brought them to the medics, she got some water and her adrenaline began to come down. She started to feel more and more sick the more her adrenaline came down. She was trying to drink water and breathe through it but it didn't work she was pale and sweaty kelly saw her and walked up to her concerned
"Hey babe are you ok," Kelly asked
"Yeah I just need a minute" Stella replied
A minute later she threw up all over the floor. Kelly ran up to her and rubbed her back.
"Your ok babe it's okay" Kelly soothed
Sylvie and Violet ran up to her.
"Stella are you ok are you sick from the fire did you inhale something," Violet asked
"No my stomach has been off all day I think I have the stomach flu or something" Stella replied
"Ok let me check you over real quick" Sylvie
"Ok" Stella replied
Sylvie took her vitals and her pulse and blood pressure were a bit high.
"Ok, your pulse and blood pressure but that's normal given the situation. All your other vitals are good I want to take your temperature and feel your glands and stomach" Sylvie told Stella
"Ok Stella replied
Sylvie took her temperature and it was 101.
"Ok your temperature is 102 I'm going to feel your stomach and glands now"
Sylvie felt her glands and they were a little swollen. She then felt her stomach and Stella whimpered when she pushed on the middle of her stomach
"Sorry, you have the stomach flu. Go home and rest and drink lots of fluids if your fever gets to 104 call me I hope you feel better" Sylvie said
They got back to the firehouse and Kelly drove them home. Stella fell asleep in the car so Kelly carried her inside. Once he got her inside he got her in bed and then went and grabbed a trash can, water, saltines Advil, and a thermometer. He put the trash can on her side of the bed and set the rest of the stuff on the nightstand and crawled in bed. He carefully pulled her into his chest and fell asleep. An hour later Stella threw up again.
"Ssh your ok baby it's ok just breathe through it I'm here" he soothed while rubbing her back.
"My stomach hurts" Stella cried
"I know I'm sorry, do you want to try the heat?" Kelly asked
"Yeah" Stella replied
"Ok ill be right back," Kelly said
He went into the kitchen and heated up a corn pack for her. Once it was done he came back in and slipped it under her shirt.
"I want to take your temperature real quick," Kelly said
"Ok" Stella replied
He took her temperature and it was 102.7
"Ok it's gone up a little it's 102.7 now I want you to take some Advil" Kelly told her
'Ok' Stella replied
She took Advil and then fell asleep for a bit. She woke up 2 hours later and threw up again.
"Ssh your ok it's ok" Kelly soothed
Once she was done she was shaking violently.
"Oh babe c'mere," Kelly said sympathetically
He held her tight until she stopped shaking.
"You ok babe" Kelly asked
"No I feel awful" Stella replied
"I'm so sorry babe do you want me to reheat the corn?" Kelly asked
"Yes please" Stella replied
"Ok babe I'll be right back" Kelly
He went and reheated the corn pack and brought it to her. They fell asleep for an hour before Stella woke up again.
"Hey babe it's almost dinner time and you haven't eaten anything for lunch I want you to try to eat something does chicken noodle soup sound good," Kelly asked
"Sure" Stella replied
Kell made her some chicken noodle soup and she ate it. She threw it up an hour later.
"Ssh your ok it's ok let it out I'm where I've got you" Kelly soothed
Once she was done kelly wanted to take her temperature.
"Hey, babe I wanna take your temperature real quick."
"ok " Stella replied"
He took her temperature and it was 103.
"Your temperature went up to 103 I want you to take some Tylenol" Kelly told her
"Ok" Stella replied
She took the Tylenol and fell back asleep for an hour before falling asleep again
"Ssh ssh you're ok it's ok just breathe" Kelly soothed
Once she finished, Kelly pulled her into his chest and they fell back asleep. She woke up an hour later to throw up again. Kelly comforted her the whole time. 2 hours later she threw up again and Kelly comforted her.
" your getting dehydrated I want you to drink some water," Kelly told her
"Ok" Stella replied
She drank some water and threw it back up 20 minutes later. Kelly comforted her the whole time. An hour later he wanted her to try drinking something again. Stella was really pale and dehydrated. She threw up the water an hour later. Kelly took her temperature and it was 103.8
"Stella you still have a fever I want you to take some Tylenol" Kelly told her
She took the Tylenol and fell asleep. She was able to sleep till 7 am. Kelly woke up when he felt her shifting in his arms.
"Hey, how are you feeling?" Kelly asked
"Still really nauseous," Stella replied
"I'm sorry babe I want you to try to eat something again does toast sound good," Kelly asked
"Sure" Stella replied
Kelly made her toast and she threw it back up 30 minutes later. He took her temperature and it went down to 102.
"Ok, babe your temperature went down to 102 I still want you to take some Advil though," Kelly told her
"Ok" Stella replied
She kept on throwing up every hour till 1 and couldn't keep anything down. Kelly took her temperature again and it went up to 104.
"Babe your really dehydrated and your temperature went up to 1-4 I'm gonna call Brett," Kelly told her
"Ok" Stella replied
K Hey Stella can't keep anything down and her temperature went up to 104
B ok I'm on my way
Brett got there 10 minutes later and Kelly took her to their room where Stella was.
"Hey I heard you're pretty sick how are you feeling," Sylvie asked
"Awful" Stella replied
"I'm sorry sweetie I'm going to take your vitals real quick
"Ok" Stella replied
Sylvie took her vitals and her blood pressure and pulse were a little high but that was normal given the situation.
"Ok Stella I want to start an IV with Zofran and fluids," Sylvie told her
Sylvie started the iv and pushed Zofran and hung some saline. Stella fell asleep for a bit before waking up to Sylvie removing her IV
"How are you feeling," Sylvie asked
"A little better" Stella replied
"Ok good I want you to try to eat something what do you want," Stella asked
"I don't know Kelly, what do we have?" Stella asked
"Bread pasta rice crackers and applesauce" Kelly replied
"Can I have noodles?" Stella asked
"Yeah sure I'll go make it right now," Kelly said
Kelly went and made the pasta and Sylvie stayed with Stella until Kelly came back with the pasta. She ate the pasta and was able to keep it down.
"How are you feeling," Sylvie asked
"A little nauseous but I'm not gonna throw up I don't think" Stella replied
"Good I wanna take your temperature," Sylvie told her
"Ok" Stella replied
She took her temperature and it was down to 100.5
"Ok your temperature went down to 100.5 and you're able to keep down food I think you're through the worst of it," Sylvie told her
"Thank god" Stella replied
They talked for a bit before Sylvie went home. The next morning Stella felt much better. Her fever and nausea were gone. Kelly spent the day relaxing and watching tv. The next day she was able to go back to work and was happy she was over the stomach bug.
