Rayne lay for a while studying Liam's face. She thought back to the female form he had taken last night. She was exquisite, but this face was the man she loved. This was the face she wanted to wake up to for the rest of her life. She slipped out of bed quietly to not wake him and headed for the shower. Rayne stood under the warm water letting it run over her head. I wonder, she thought, can I manipulate any water? Rayne held her hands, palms together, and then slowly focusing on the water, she spread them apart as if pushing away the water. As her hands moved, so did the stream of water. It had split down the middle and now was in two streams on either side of her. She laughed out loud and clapped her hands, which made the water go back to normal. It splashed her straight in the face, but she didn't care. This was too amazing, she had to tell her mother.

Rayne quickly dressed and left a note for Liam, she raced down the hall to her mother's study. The heavy doors were closed and she impatiently knocked on them. Nimuë had a troubled expression when she finally came to the door, but quickly smiled when she saw Rayne. "Daughter, you're up early, and apparently excited about something. Come in," She opened the doors to let Rayne pass.

She made it a couple of steps before she turned to face her mother, "I have a new power, or an advancement of one at least," she blurted out in an excited tone. "I can manipulate water! The water sprite Lily showed me yesterday, and I did it again this morning in the shower!" She sounded like an excited child. "She also said I am connected to all five elements on the pentagram, but I don't really understand that completely."

Nimuë paused to consider what Rayne had just said then she walked to the desk and got a glass of water. "Show me please," she handed the water to her. Rayne closed her eyes and focused on making the water spiral out of the glass, then back down again. When she opened her eyes, the water was dancing above the cup. Her mother's expression was surprised. "Now freeze it," she said. Rayne quickly cooled the water in mid-air making a rather lovely ice sculpture. She looked back at her mother, trying to read her eyes. "This is interesting, indeed," Nimuë said.

"What do you think she meant about all the elements and the points of the pentagram?" Rayne asked as she thawed the ice, making the water fall back into the glass. She set it on the table and sat down on the couch near her mother's desk.

Nimue took out a piece of parchment and drew the pentagram, "Each point represents an element. Water, Earth, Air, Fire and Spirit." She put a mark next to water, "We know you have this power, as you just demonstrated, and you also have fire as well as spirit with your connection to the dead and your creation power, but currently, Liam holds that part for you." She circled the points for Earth and Air. "Have you ever controlled the earth or air before, child?"

Rayne thought and shook her head, "Not that I remember. I don't think I've ever really tried. Most of my powers just came when my mood caused them. Before Eris, I could only control the fire and sometimes the ice and creation." She kept staring at the pentagram. "Mother, what does this mean? Lily said there was another challenge in my future. Is this part of it?"

"I'm not sure. I think I need to consult with the Elders about this," she smiled at Rayne, "Perhaps we can find someone to train you to control the earth and air?"

Rayne smiled and agreed, "I would really like that. Unless you need me, I think I'm going to go back to the lake today and train with Lily. She said she would help me with the water." Her mother hugged her and encouraged her to practice. She told her she would send a messenger when she knew something.

When she returned to her chambers, she found Liam drying off from his shower. "Ahh there is my lovely bride-to-be," he kissed her and pulled her to him.

"You're getting me all wet," she giggled.

"Payback for yesterday," he smirked, "Speaking of yesterday, are you sure you're okay with our little experience?"

Rayne blushed with a huge grin on her face, "Love, I think I'm more than okay. That was fantastic. I liked making you scream for a change," she laughed. "Hey, I have an idea. Can I try something?"

Liam nodded and watched as Rayne closed her eyes and pushed the water droplets off of him. They fell to the floor, making a puddle. He laughed, "I'm not sure that was what you were going for, but I'm still impressed."

"Yeah, I didn't think it through. I didn't know where to put the water. Oh! Wait," she said in an excited tone. She focused on the water with one hand, lifting it in the air, and then fire with her other hand, making the water evaporate in a puff of steam.

Liam's mouth hung open for a moment, his eyes wide. "Rayne, that was unbelievable. How did you control them both at the same time?"

Rayne shrugged, "I don't know, I just thought about elementary science and the water cycle. I figured I could evaporate the water, then it had a place to go. Chalk one up to Bill Nye the Science Guy," she giggled. Liam rolled his eyes at her joke.

She told him about her conversation with her mother about the five elements and her plan to train with Lily today. Liam watched her excitement almost bursting around her. She almost seemed to be glowing. He noticed her eyes had a silvery tinge to them but didn't say anything. Something was changing in her. She had become stronger since the gello attack. It was almost as if fighting through her grief had given her a power boost. He was simply in awe of her.

"Hello, did you hear me?" Rayne asked, snapping her fingers in front of his face. "Do you want to come with me or not?"

"Sorry dear," Liam confessed, "I got a bit caught up in your beautiful face and voice." He pulled her to him and kissed her forehead. "I think Lily would be more comfortable with just the two of you today. Besides, I still have a wedding present to finish," he smiled slyly. "But if you're a really, really good girl, I may give you the present early," he teased her as he kissed her gently.

"Hmmm, we may have to discuss the definition of good," she laughed as she snagged his towel and ran out of the room laughing.

Run all you want darling, I can always punish you later he projected to her as she headed towards the lake. She both giggled and shivered at the prospect of his words.

When Rayne reached the lake she went to sit on the rock near the edge where Lily had sat. She was making little swirls in the water when a small splash came at her. She looked around, but couldn't see Lily in the water. As she leaned closer to the water she felt arms around her neck pulling her in. She landed gracelessly in the water, splashing and laughing. Focus your thoughts and see me, beautiful one, she heard Lily say in her mind. Rayne closed her eyes and fell into the water, sensing the way it moved around her body as she sank below the surface. She opened her eyes and there in front of her was Lily. She was almost translucent and the water seemed to bend around and camouflage her. Lily smiled when she knew Rayne could see her. She swam close and pulled her mouth to her. Rayne felt a flood of desire as their lips met, but she pulled back.

"I need to understand what is happening to me, Lily," she explained.

Lily pulled her back to her mouth again, Focus on your desire and make the water bend around you. Your passions drive your powers. She projected to Rayne.

She tried to do as the sprite had directed. She gave into the kiss, wrapping her arms around Lily and pressing her tongue through her teeth. She felt the water move around and between them. It was part of them and they all moved in tandem. Lily pulled away from the embrace and looked at Rayne smiling. When Rayne looked at her own body, it now looked like Lily's, translucent and blended in with the water. It made her feel free.

Lily darted across the lake just under the surface, barely moving the water. She was so fast, you could barely see her. She motioned for Rayne to try. As she propelled herself forward, she realized she was swimming faster than she ever had before. This form was part of the water, and when she raced across the lake it barely made a ripple. You are part of the water, beautiful one. The more you bond with it, the more you can control it.

They swam for hours, darting through the water, making fountains spray in the air, and when they tired, they lay in each other's embrace. How is this possible, Lily? What am I becoming? Rayne asked the sprite.

Lily cupped Rayne's face in her hands. Her violet-blue eyes looked at Rayne with pure adoration as she kissed her deeply. She lifted them to the surface of the water and motioned to the lake and the surrounding forest, "You are fulfilling your destiny, beauty. Like I said before, your magic is tethered to the elements. You are an elemental being." Lily heard a sound on the shore and before she could ask any more questions, Lily tugged Rayne below the surface, both of them blending into the water again instinctually.

"Rayne, are you here, ástvinur?" Liam called out across the water. He could not see them below the surface.

Call him with your mind. Bring him to the water to see what you have learned. I will stay this time. Lily projected with a sly grin.

Rayne paused, but then reached out, Come into the water, my love. See if you can find me. She made the slightest splash to give him a starting point.

Liam's face lit up with a smile, "Hmmm, games my darling? This could be fun." He undressed and began to swim towards the ripples that remained from her splash. Rayne looked at Lily and smiled knowingly.

As Liam approached, they took turns swimming around him. They would just barely graze against him, then speed away. Each time he tried to see them, but couldn't see through their camouflage. You were so close, my love - Rayne taunted him. Hold still for me.

Together? She asked Lily. The sprite nodded. Rayne came around the front of Liam and quickly pulled him under, kissing him deeply, giving him air, and revealing herself to him finally. Lily came behind him and ran her hands along his back. Rayne tugged him to the surface as she and Lily continued to touch and caress his body. "How...how did you do that?" he whispered as they pressed against him. Liam let out a moan as he felt hands around his waist exploring lower. He couldn't tell if it was the sprite or Rayne that grasped him, but the pleasure was intoxicating.

Liam spun Rayne around and placed her back against his chest. He sank his length deep within her. She moaned, raising an arm around his neck, and reaching out for Lily with her other arm. The sprite swam in front of her and pressed against her, kissing her deeply. She dove under the water and placed her mouth over Rayne's clit, sucking with force, as her hand traveled along the base of Liam's shaft. Her touch spurred him to thrust into Rayne again, and when he did, Lily sucked harder on Rayne's clit. Her walls tightened around Liam and their pace increased. Lily came back to the surface but kept her fingers against Rayne's clit, rubbing and pinching it as Liam pressed deep into her. Rayne crashed her lips against Lily and as her orgasm built, she moaned loudly. Liam grasped her hips and pulled him against her in a frenzy as he came deep inside her, with Rayne following soon after. She leaned on Lily and panted, as Liam leaned his head on Rayne's shoulder, kissing it gently. Lily smiled at them both with a look of satisfaction.

"Tomorrow you will go to the forest, near the caves. Sean Dóiteáin will help you with your fire. You still have much to learn about it." Lily kissed her again and smiled at Liam, "Until we meet again beautiful one and her God, blessings." she turned and swam away leaving only a ripple in the water.

Liam turned Rayne to face him, "That was breathtaking, but a bit unexpected." He pressed his lips to hers and embraced her. "Are you okay? What is she talking about - who is Sean Dóiteáin?"

Rayne shook her head, "I don't know. The name means Old Fire, but I don't know who or what that is." She took his hand and led him to the shore. Using her new skills, she dried them off in an instant, returning the water to the lake. When they both were dressed, she turned and asked, "Liam, do you know what an elemental is?"

Liam stopped walking and looked at her. His green eyes seemed clouded and troubled. "They are the legends of myths. I don't even know if they really exist."

"But what are they?" Rayne asked again.

"It is said they are intertwined with nature. They can control the elements much like you do, but are stronger than the Gods." He looked at her, his eyes growing wide, "Rayne, what did Lily tell you?" There was a hint of concern in his voice.

"No, no, she can't be right," Rayne said softly more to herself than to Liam. Then she looked up at him, "She said I'm an elemental being." Her knees buckled at the realization. Liam quickly caught her before she hit the ground. In a green flash, they were back in their chambers.

Liam placed her in the bed and lay next to her, pulling her close. "What does this mean? What the Gods am I?" Rayne sobbed. Liam stroked her hair, trying to comfort her.

"I don't know, ástvinur," he reassured her, "Maybe this Sean Dóiteáin will have some answers for you tomorrow. Try to rest." They both lay awake for a long time, and when sleep finally came it was not restful.
