I watched as she conversed with her friends. The way she laughed and was happy around them. The way her eyes lit up when they spoke to her. I only wished she had that with me. But I couldn't have a weakness, I never wanted to have someone I would love and care for. HE promised that when he ruined me. The way she looked beautiful in her ball gown. Why was I even feeling this way? I shook my head of these thoughts of her.
"Finally a married man huh?" Micah my best friend says beside me. "To one pussy for the rest of your life." He held out his glass and I clinked it with mine. I downed my drink, I was going to need it, I needed to clear my mind of these thoughts of her.
Micah Valentino was my best friend and right hand man. We had been best friends since boarding school. He was a nightmare to live with but now I couldn't live without him. I loved him. He was a brother to me.
"We have a meeting tomorrow with the Andersons, George Anderson (Alex's dad) will be handing his company over." I told him, "Be there for 11am."
Everyone in New York knew how George didn't want to give his business over to his daughter, but she was the rightful heir to his company and by the rules it should've been inherited by her. He had numerous of bachelors lined up for Alexandria's hand in marriage, but I had paid them off. I was going to get this business, and tomorrow was the day I finally would get it. I guess marrying his daughter came with one good advantage.
"Can I get your attention ladies and Gentleman," The DJ's voice stuck throughout the ballroom. "It's time for the daddy daughter dance."
I made my way to the front, watching as Alexandria danced around with her father.

He gripped onto my waist, holding me tightly, I knew it would leave a bruise. my eyes never met his. I couldn't look into his eyes. My dad was once my best friend, my soldier he was my superhero we were really close. I don't know what I had done to make him hate me.
Flashback (13 YEARS AGO)
"Daddy stop." I said while my dad was tickling me.
"No baby."
"Daddy please, I will do anything." I laughed.
"I love you my little pumpkin." that was the first time he ever called me pumpkin.

Flashback (8 years ago)
"Mama when is dad coming back." I whined for the 100th time
Dad had been gone for 2 weeks, he had been traveling with his best friend. But that was supposed to be me right, because I am his best friend, well I guess not anymore.
"DAAAAADDDDYYYY!!!!" I screamed as I heard the front door open.
"Pumpkin I missed you so much." he replied while hugging me.
I had tears in my eyes
"Why you crying pumpkin?" he asked
"It's just, that you WERE my best friend and you went on a trip with your best friends shouldn't that be me. I feel like you are not my best friend anymore like we are not close"
"Pumpkin why would you say that, we will be best friends for ever no matter what." And I hugged him, this is why I love my dad
Flashback over
Tears ran down my face at the memories of my father that once loved me, that I once loved as well. That was once my best friend. "Why?" I whispered to him.
"Why what?" He asked in confusion.
"Why do you hate me?" I asked.
"Let's not talk about this right now," he says before walking away from me.
"It's now time for the Bride and Groom's first dance," I watched as Leonardo made his way towards me.
The song had now changed, playing 'Another Love' By Tom Odell. I wrapped my arms around his neck and he wrapped his arms around my waist. I had been giving him the silent treatment since the engagement party when he threatened me to marry me. "You can't ignore me forever," he told me.
I didn't reply, "Come on," he tried again, "people are watching."
"I hate you." I whispered to him.
"The feeling's mutual Principessa." He scoffed.
"I want my own room." I told him, I wasn't going to sleep in the same bed as him.
"Well we don't always get what we want sweetheart." I noticed that couples had now decided to join in and were dancing beside us. "Change the topic."
"What's your favourite colour?" I asked.
"Seriously?" he let out a chuckle.
"I don't know anything about you," I told him, "How do you expect me to live with you, to fall in love with you if I don't know anything about you."
"I don't expect you to fall in love with me." He says, "I'll arrange you to have your own bedroom tonight." He says before leaving me on the dance floor.

It was now the next day, as Promised Leonardo gave me a separate room, he had got maids to place my stuff into my new bedroom while we were at the wedding so when I got back to the house everything was ready for me. I hadn't done anything with Leonardo last night and I was glad I didn't, I didn't want him to touch or to see me.
I got changed into a pair of blue straight legged ripped jeans, a light brown coloured top and my white chunky converse. I put on a cropped cardigan over my outfit as it was slightly chilly today. I left my hair out in the curls they were in from last night. I grabbed my black bag before making my way downstairs. I was going to meet the band today, I hadn't seen them in a while and we had to record some songs.
"Good morning," Lana says as I head into the kitchen.
"Morning." I reply, grabbing the bread and placing it into the toaster.
"Where are you off to today?" Aria asks with a mouthful of food.
"Aria!" Lana yelled, "Have some manners."
"Sorry mom." Aria replied, making me chuckle.
"I have band practice," I told her, "Do you want to come?"
"Of course." She yelled, "Give me 30 mins to get ready." She shot out of her seat, running towards her bedroom.
"Sometimes I still think the girl is 16 years old." Lana laughed beside me.
Once my toast was done, I grabbed it, placing it onto a plate and spreading some jam over it. "I heard that you had asked for a separate room." Lana says.
I Nodded, "I just don't feel comfortable sleeping with him yet."
She sighed in sadness, "So that means I won't be getting any grand babies any Time soon?"
I choked on my food, "Mom leave the poor girl alone." I watched as Mateo walked into the kitchen.
"Don't you have a meeting honey?" Lana asked him.
"yeah I overslept." He replied.

"Sign here," George flipped through the pages, "and here."
"Allow me to read it first, I want to make sure everything's correct." I told him. I had no trust in this guy whatsoever, I couldn't trust him, I knew exactly what he was like. He could me making me sign over my business for all I know.
I Flipped through the pages, there were only 2. I made sure to read through it clearly. "What do you mean I will get the business in a years time?" I asked as the one line spoke out to me.
"It means exactly as it's written." He replied, "this contract doesn't mean you'll get my business anytime soon, you will sign another document in a years time for that."
"Then why the fuck am I signing this?" I questioned.
"I have 1 more year until I retire, this contract states that you will only be earning 15% of my shares for this one year." George spoke.
That only meant one thing. I had to stay married to his daughter for 1 year. My plan of divorcing her a few days after the wedding had failed. She was to stay with me for another year.
