A pair of cold arms snaked around your waist and pulled you toward a cold mass, allowing the culprit to bury her face in your back. The ungloved hand of your girlfriend slipped under your shirt and rubbed soothing circles on your abdomen. You shifted slightly to glance back at the brunette, noticing how dull her eyes were and immediately feeling a pang in your chest. Her eyes darted to yours immediately and you knew she heard a change in your heart rate.
"You'll be starting—."
"What's wrong, lovebug?" You asked softly and turned in her grasp, placing your hands on her cheeks. "Your eyes aren't shining like they normally do."
"I... Had a nightmare... I'm fine, I have you," Cassandra muttered before planting soft kisses on your collarbone. "I just need to hold you and kiss you for a bit."
"I'm not complaining."
Cassandra giggled as she continued planting kisses on your skin. The kisses remained soft and innocent — not that you minded. It wasn't often she showed this side, but when she did, you savored every second of it. You ran your fingers through her hair — scraping her scalp lightly in the process to make her purr.
Half an hour went by before a knock was heard at the door, making you lazily shift your gaze to the door. Isa cracked the door open and poked their head in, sending you a smile when they realized you were awake. They opened the door and pushed in a cart of food and drinks, bowing to you both as you slowly sat up, Cassandra clinging to you. Isa was the only other person Cassandra let see her like this — and you were convinced it was because they were dating Bela.
"I'll come by later with lunch," They promised as they stood up straight and adjusted their skirt. "If you want anything beforehand, just ring the bell."
"Thank you, Isa," You whispered before they left, moving yourself and Cassandra closer to the cart. "Now we can eat and get back to cuddling."
"Or you can eat and I can cuddle you until—."
"Eat, Cass."
Cassandra whined but agreed nonetheless, the both of you eating while she huddled into you as best she could. Once you finished your meals, Cassandra forced you to lay down again before nuzzling into you, a content sigh leaving her. You went back to running your fingers through her hair, humming softly while she went back to kissing your skin.
Hours went by with the two of you just holding each other and exchanging kisses. You weren't sure why she was acting like this for so long, but you also weren't complaining. This was the longest she had ever been this clingy, which was equal parts worrisome and adorable. Cassandra pressed a kiss to your cheek before pulling back slightly.
"If I said I never wanted to get married...?"
"As long as you don't plan on leaving me," You whispered and cupped her cheeks. "I won't care. I just want to be with you. Besides, it's just a ceremony and a piece of paper. Not having those won't make me love you less. I love you, Cass. As long as I'm yours, I'm happy."
Relief flooded her gold eyes before she pulled you in for a quick kiss. "I just... I don't know. Maybe in time, I'll like the idea, but right now all I want to focus on is you. I want to focus on what's happening now."
"Cass... Is this because of what Isa asked us last week? Because they plan to... you know?"
"I don't know how to tell them... I know mother wants us to be happy, but she likes you and wants me to marry you some day."
"Exactly, my love. Some day. Not today, not tomorrow either. Just... Whenever we're ready. Whenever you're ready."
"You'd wait for me?"
"Cass," You whispered and ghosted your lips over hers. "I waited for two years before you finally dared to admit you liked me. Then another six months for you to gather the courage to ask me on a date. I'd wait a thousand lifetimes if I had to. You're the night to my day — the rainbow after a storm. You're my lovebug, nothing will ever change that."
Cassandra connected your lips as soon as you stopped talking, a soft giggle leaving her at your surprised squeal. Before the kiss could go anywhere, the door to the room opened. You broke the kiss to look at the intruder, immediately becoming flustered when you noticed Daniela trying to hold in her giggles.
"You call her lovebug," Daniela squealed as she pushed in the cart of food. "That's so cute!" A loud purr came from the youngest Dimitrescu. "Isa fell asleep from overworking again so I decided to bring you two lunch!"
"Th-thank you, Da-Dani," You murmured as Cassandra sat up, bringing you with her. "I thought it was a cute nickname — Cass doesn't seem to mind it either."
"It's cute," Cassandra grumbled with a small pout. "And you sound so happy saying it."
Daniela giggled before leaving the room, shutting the door behind her and letting you eat alone with Cassandra. You leaned against her this time, smiling when she snaked her free arm around your waist to hold your body against hers. This was the more common sign of affection you'd get; a possessive hold, her hand in yours, or even just part of her touching part of you. She wasn't the best at showing affection, but she made up for it in her actions.
Although you knew Daniela and Bela helped often, Cassandra treated you to at least one date a week — her sisters just making sure everything is planned the way Cassandra wants it to be and it doesn't go wrong. It was also in the way she kissed you. She had her possessive kisses — her aggressive ones that told you she wanted you and she wanted everyone to know that you were hers. You loved those kisses.
Her more common mode of kissing you was stealing kisses. Oftentimes when you're getting ready for the day, she'll plant kisses along your wingspan until you decide to turn around and kiss her properly. You loved those kisses as well. But the ones that always managed to make you fall further in love with her were the ones she'd give you before she falls asleep.
Those kisses, although barely felt, always managed to make your heart skip a few beats. Cassandra would mutter a soft 'good night' in Romanian before attempting to kiss you. Usually, a whine would escape her when she realized she was too tired to move so you moved forward until your lips met hers. She would try her best to return the kiss but would fall asleep before she was able to. You always waited a few minutes before pulling away — knowing how light of a sleeper she was — and would fall asleep a few moments later with a smile on your face.
"What are you smiling about?" Cassandra's voice brought you out of the memory and you tilted your head up, pressing a soft kiss on her jaw.
"I'm just thinking about how lucky I am to have you."
"I'm the lucky one."
"Wrong," You whispered and leaned up to connect your lips in a quick kiss, prompting Cassandra to chase it when you pulled away. "I'm lucky because I get to kiss you."
"What do you mean by that?"
"It means that every time you kiss me, I can feel how much you love me — how much I mean to you. Especially when you try to kiss me before falling asleep."
"Your lips are addicting," Cassandra huffed as you nudged your nose against hers. "I love you."
"I love you too, lovebug."
