I don't own Boku no Hero academia/My Hero academia. I do however own a porcelain cat. ⬧︎⬧︎⬧︎⬧︎⬧︎⬧︎⬧︎⬧︎⬧︎⬧︎⬧︎⬧︎⬧︎⬧︎⬧︎⬧︎⬧︎⬧︎⬧︎⬧︎⬧︎⬧︎⬧︎⬧︎⬧︎⬧︎⬧︎⬧︎⬧︎⬧︎⬧︎⬧︎⬧︎⬧︎

I blinked my eyes a few times hoping I was just seeing things. But nothing changed. My hand still looked the same. There right in the middle of my palm was a scab.

"No, no, no. What is happening?" I panicked.

You might think a scab is not a big deal but for me it is.

'This doesn't make any sense at all! There should not be anything left from that wound. My quirk should have healed it. There should not even be a scar. Shōta said it was just a small wound. Small wounds should not take more than a minute to disappear completely unless I overuse my quirk. I am no way near my limit. This is bad. This is seriously bad. My quirk heals things like this in no time yet there is a scab where the wound should be.' My thoughts were running wild.

I realised that I had not turned off the water and quickly grabbed the handle of the water tap, but I was unable to turn it off. My hand started to hurt when I tried to grab the handle with my injured hand.

Another red flag. An Injury like that should not hurt with a quirk like mine

Using my non-injured hand I turned off the water. Looking up I was met with the sight of my reflection. The little mirror above the sink perfectly displayed my frightened face.

I just stared at myself not knowing what to do.

"Something is wrong. Something is very wrong. My quirk is acting strange. Something is wrong with my quirk. My quirk is malfunctioning." I whispered.

There was no other possibility. My quirk had never acted this way before.

My reflection looked even more terrified now. The fear in my eyes was so painfully obvious. I cannot recall the last time I looked like this. It was like my eyes were shining with fear. They almost seemed red.

Wait.

Red?

"Oh no, not now. Things are already bad. I don't need more bullshit to deal with." I whispered in frustration.

Those red eyes belong to one person and one person only.

Shigaraki Tomura.

"Go away Shigaraki. You're not real. You can't be here." I said trying to reason with myself.

I closed my eyes and shook my head. There was no way this was real I was probably just too stressed and as result, I started to imagine things. That must be it.

I opened my eyes again and sure enough, I was looking at my own reflection. Not Shigarki's reflection. I sigh escaped my lips and I shook my head again trying to get rid of the unsettling feeling forming in my stomach.

'Calm down (y/n). You are overreacting. Deep breaths, deep breaths.' I thought Trying to regain some decency.

I decided it was probably best if I left the bathroom and found I place to lay down. So I opened the door and walked out of the bathroom only to be met with the sight of a petrified Present Mic. He looked like he had seen a ghost.

"Wow, what happened to you?" I asked.

"Bugs"

"I'm sorry I didn't quite get that."

"Bug. So many bugs." Present Mic said with disgust.

"Ah. Oh." That was all I could respond with.

"They were all over me. They were everywhere." Present Mic continued.

"I see. Tha-" I did not get to finish my sentence before Present Mic grabbed both of my shoulders tightly.

"You don't understand it was horrible. The bugs were crawling on me." He said as he shook me.

I just sort of stared at him with my lips pressed into a thin line and wide eyes.

"It was so disgusting. Urgh. Nasty. Nasty I say! I never want to do that ever again!" Present Mic yelled shaking me again.

"Alright but could please stop shaking me," I said gripping Present Mic's arms to try to stop shaking me even more.

"I hate bugs. I hate bugs. Argh, I hate bugs." He repeated and continued to shake me.

"Present Mic. Present Mic. Present Mic, please. You are making me dizzy. Present Mic! Yamada!" I yelled desperately trying to get him to stop shaking me.

Saying his real name and not his hero name got his attention. He stopped shaking me and just looked at me for a bit. He then noticed his arms on my shoulders and immediately removed them. He probably realized what he had been doing because he apologized several times. I managed to get him to stop apologizing after about the third "It's okay" in a row.

"Well, I think it's safe to say you have a raging fear of bugs," I chuckled patting Present Mic's shoulder.

Present Mic gave me a look that said, "It's not funny" and I tried very hard to stifle my laughter. It was nice to talk to Present Mic, it cheered me up and almost made me forget that there was something wrong with my quirk. Sometimes all I need is a normal conversation that does not involve work, quirks, or injuries.

Present Mic continued to talk and at some point, the conversation just became everyday chit-chat. Something realized I longed for in my day-to-day life. How odd it is to be longing for something so normal. But that is what happens when most of your life revolves around Heroes and Villains. Those little things will end up meaning the world to you. It is like a breath of fresh air that I think both me and Present Mic needed. In many ways, Pro Heroes and Quirk Doctors are different in many ways but they also have a lot in common. One of those things is the longing for some calm and normal activities.

"I'm just saying that I won't be surprised when Shōta buys one of those sleeping bag suits or whatever that abomination is called." Present Mic said with a tone so serious it became funny.

I could not stop myself from laughing and I proceeded to burst into a fit of laughter. I was laughing so hard that tears started to roll down my cheeks. Present Mic looked at me with concern.

"Is it really that funny?" He asked.

"You're a comedic genius Mic." I managed to say between my laughs.

It almost felt like it had been ages since I had laughed this much. It was a great feeling. At this point, I was on the floor rolling around while laughing. I do not know if it was the lack of sleep or if it was genuinely funny but at that moment it felt like it was the funny thing I had heard in ages.

"That was funny," I commented wiping the tears away

"Oh, my sides hurt." I continued catching my breath

I got up from the floor and brushed my coat off. The medical coat I was wearing had seen better days. But I only owned this one, so I had no choice but to wear it. I had filed a request to get a new one and according to the Q.D.D, I would receive a new one soon and alongside some support gear. Q.D.D. stands for Quirk Doctor Department it is partially owned by the Hero Public Safety Commission, H.P.S.C. for short, or as I like to call it The Hero Commission. Q.D.D. handles everything related to Quirk Doctors, including uniforms. Yes, Quirk Doctors have a uniform, which is why I cannot just wear a normal medical coat. If I could, I would have gotten a new medical coat a long time ago.

Quirk Doctors are required to wear a special medical coat when at work. The medical costs are designed by one of the many companies that design hero suits and are way better quality than your average medical coat. The medical coats also have a special design that only licensed Quirk Doctors are allowed to wear.

The medical coat has the same blue strips as the paramedic uniform since Quirk Doctors works rather closely with the people from that department. The blue strips appear on the bottom of the medical coat, the shoulders of the medical coat, and the end of the sleeves on the medical. The front of the medical coat is decorated with a tiny Asclepius staff right where the heart would be and above that is the letters Q.D.D embroidered into the fabric of the medical coat. On the back of the medical coat, you will find the words "Quirk Doctor" in big letters. You can see the letters in the dark which is a pretty neat feature if you ask me. The back also has the Quirk Doctor crest on it. The crest is a snake wrapping itself around a Baptisia flower with a sun in the background.

The Quirk Doctors uniform was way simpler back in the day. It used to be a normal medical coat with the word "Quirk doctor on the back. But that all changed when The Hero Commission got control over Q.D.D. A lot of things changed when Q.D.D became a subdivision of H.P.S.C. Luckily, we were able to keep some control which is why Q.D.D is only partially owned by The Hero Commission.

The Uniform change was not popular amongst the Quirk Doctors. We were only supposed to wear the uniform outside of hospitals and only when responding to emergencies. But the Hero Commission changed that too making it so we had to wear the new uniform from the moment we head to work to the moment we end our work day.

'A lot of older Quirk Doctors still complain about the change in the uniform rules, and I can understand why. Now that we have to wear the same medical coat both inside and outside of hospitals, we drag a lot of dirt and dust with us, and you really want to avoid that when working at a hospital. Q.D.D has brought the issue up many times, but the Hero Commission refuses to change the rules. It does not exactly help that The Hero commission has made it so difficult to obtain a new uniform. I think I have waited three months for mine. But I do not complain about it a lot, I became a Quirk Doctor after The Hero Commission got partial control of the Quirk Doctor Department, so it has always been like this for me.' I thought as I stared at my old medical coat

A loud buzz sound made its way through the building snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Team Hagakure and Shoji have passed!"

"Oh yeah, that's right I'm here to help with the exams. I almost forgot because of how funny our little chat was." I said looking at Present Mic.

"It wasn't that funny." He huffed.

"Well, break time is over. Better get back to work." I said heading for the door.

As I walked out of the staff room, I walked by Recovery Girl who was watching the exams on a big monitor. Some of the students were there too. They seemed to be discussing Hagakure and Shoji's exam. Recovery Girl turned her head to look at me.

"Feeling better?" Recovery Girl asked.

"Much better," I responded.

I was still extremely worried about the whole situation, but I did feel better. Besides now was not the time to worry about myself I had work to do.

"That's good to hear. The next Exam is Midnight's if you are quick, you will be able to catch up with her." Recovery Girls responded with a big smile.

"Alright, thanks. I'll be on my way then." I said as I ran towards the exit of the building.

"Wait a moment, Dr (l/n)! You might want to get your bag before leaving!" Recover Girl yelled trying to get ahold of me.

I Imedtaly stopped in my tracks. I looked at my body and just as Recovery Girl had implied my bag was nowhere to be found. But I did not recall taking off. Then it hit me that Shōta might have removed it when he found me laying on the ground unconscious. I turned around to try and find Shōta only to be scared shitless by the man I was looking for holding my bag.

"Holy shit, Shōta. You almost gave me a heart attack." I hissed grasping my chest.

"Thought you might be missing your bag." He said dangling the bag in front of me.

I snatched the bag from his hand muttered a thank you and proceeded to run out of the building trying to catch up to Midnight.

"Midnight, wait for me!!! Take me with you!!!" I yelled trying to get her attention.

She was walking a bit in front of me but stopped when she heard me yelling.

"Would you hold my hand even if it hurts you?" Is a piece of fan-made literature and is simply made for fellow fans to enjoy.

Boku no Hero academia/My Hero academia and all its characters belong to Kōhei Horikoshi.

I do not in any way claim ownership of the franchise or its characters.

The story I tell is not meant to be part of the canon storyline and is just something I imagined.

This story is for entrainment outside of the original franchise.
