Laura POV
I left school early today. I just couldn't help myself. I couldn't stop crying or zoning out thinking about Ross and I.
I enter the apartment closing the door harshly causing my bag too fall down my shoulder. "Ugh" I groan.
Vanessa looks over to me in a "Sh I'm trying to sleep one of the babies! Could you just shut your freakin banging."
I see her and smile embarrassedly. She gets up and lays the baby down in one of the cribs. She hasn't even named them.
"Sit." she commanded,
"What's wrong?"
I shook my head no.
"Laura I know you. I know something is wrong with you."
"I just don't want to talk about it."
"Tell me. Wait is about you and Ross breaking up?" she asked.
I looked at her confused and then say,"How do you know?"
"Riker told me. Why would you do that?"
"I can't tell you."
"Laura I thought you hated that guy."
"I-I... don't"
"Laura what about what he did to you?"
"I forgave him."
"Laura you love Ross."
"No! I lied all this time. I never stopped thinking about him." I lied.
"Your being so unfair with him. He loves you so much."
"Who are you to talk?! First of all your getting married with someone you don't love just to give your daughters a stupid last name!" I screamed to her. She slapped me and I just looked down shyly.
"How do you know I don't love him?" she asked.
"Oh cause obviously you don't. Why can't you not marry him and just give him the last name Marano."
"Cause I want them to have a father."
"Go back with Jason then. He technically is the real father."
"No he hurt me-" I interrupted her and said," And he hurt me. a All this time I've been with him terrible things have happened to me."
"And you think being with Chris is gonna help you." she crossed her arms.
"You should have heard what he called me. He called me a slut." I felt a tear run down my face.
"Well Laura I don't blame him you did go back with your ex."
I ignore her and run out of the apartment grabbing my bag, car, and coat.
I ran to my car and just get in without knowing where I was going.

I finally arrives wherever I wanted to go to. And it was the cemetery where my mother was buried. At the entrance of the cemetery is a store with flowers. I pass by to get a bouquet of roses.
I walk over to my mothers grave. I sit down and look at it.
I began to cry. I throw myself to the floor landing on my knees. The tears fall onto my mothers grave.
"Mom. Oh mom how I miss you. I need you right now. My life is a disaster..." I was going to continue but someone tapped my shoulder.
I turn around and see my dad.
"Dad what are you doing here."
"Came to visit your mom." he answered.
"I don't understand why. Look could you leave me alone and my mom too."
"Could we talk Laura."
"No."
"It's about your mother and I. She told me that if she died I needed to tell the truth."
I look at him curiously,"What truth?"
"Can we talk somewhere else it's getting dark."
I nodded my head. I left the bouquet and he helps me up.
...
We arrived to a YogurtLand. He asked me if I wanted any. And of course I said yes.
I got the simple stuff. Vanilla with almonds, bits of cheesecake, condensed milk, and coconut shavings. Obviously not leaving out the whipped cream.
We sit in a table and start talking.
"Well first I want to say thanks for letting me take you out." I nodded my head and continued eating my frozen yogurt.
He added,"Laura what I'm about to tell you is something that is painful. Your mother and I got divorced when you were 8. We didn't want to separate or say anything cause we thought you weren't ready to know the real truth. I'm sorry."
I dropped my spoon with my mouth wide open. "What? That's not true."
But it is. We didn't say it cause we didn't want you both to go back and forth from house to house. Also this is gonna be heart breaking but your mom wanted me to tell you. I spoke to her on the day of the accident. Laura." he paused and grabbed my hands,"Laura, your mom had...Your mom had cancer."
I started crying. He came over and hugged me. I hugged him back.
"Dad I'm so sorry that I was so rude to you. I acted like a brat and..."
"It's okay Laura I did this for your mom and you two."
We continued talking and catching up until he mentioned Ross.
"So how are you and your boyfriend? Very discomforting saying that."
"We...uh...Broke up. Well I broke up with him." I look down.
"Oh I'm sorry is it wrong if I ask why."
"No. I can't lie to you. But we can't talk here."
We get up and walk across the street to a nearby park. We sit in a bench and start talking.
"Okay promise me no matter what you do don't go to the police or say something. You could be in danger too."
"Laura your scaring me. Dis he threaten you or rape you in any way." he looked into my eyes and grabbed my hands.
"Not him but someone else. Back in like October I dated this guy. He forcefully tried to kiss me and Ross beat him up. That's when we dated." I paused and then continued,"When me and that other guy broke up and Ross and I got together he didn't stop bothering me. On the day Vanessa had her babies he was there. I don't know how he knew she was in labor. Well I went to the cafeteria and saw him there. He pulled out a blade and said if I didn't leave Ross he would kill Ross, the babies and me."
"Laura we need to tell someone." he sounded worried.
"We can't. If you do or I do we could be in danger. Dad after I decide what college I want to go to it will all be over."
"Laura but I just can't do that."
"Please understand and respect my decision dad. I need you to understand. I love you and I don't want anything to happen to you."
"Alright. Well I better get going I need to catch my flight. In a couple of hours. Oh and those flowers you always see that are fresh on your mothers grave, I gave them to her. So stop tipping or paying the shop."
I laughed a little. "Dad I'm sorry for being the way I was with you. Also here." I handed him 2 tickets to my graduation."They gave us each eight and well I only got 3 people to give well four.You, your girlfriend, Vanessa and mom. I dropped it off when I went."
He answered weirdly to what I said," Wait you want me to come to your graduation?"
"Of course your my dad. And I want you to be there."
"I will and you also want Lindsey to be there?"
"Yes cause she makes you happy and I kinda need to make it up to her for what I said at the funeral."
"Thanks Laura."
"Dad promise you'll be there no matter what."
"I promise." he said crossing his heart.
I hugged him and he hugged me back.
"Okay see you in a couple of weeks."
"See you on your prom night." he said.
"Your coming that day too."
"Well yeah. I need to see you and how you look."
"Bye" I said
"Bye." he said back.
I got in my car and him to a cab. We went our separate ways.

I got home and was going straight to my room until Vanessa saw me.
"Laura." she says softly.
"Yeah." I said back
"I'm sorry for what I said earlier to you and cause of the slap." she said that trying not to burst into tears.
"I'm sorry too I didn't mean all that. And if you still want to marry Riker I will fully support it."
"Thanks and I'll be here for anything."
"Should we hug this out."
She nodded her head and came to me. "I love you Vanessa."
"I love you too Laur. Also I saw you bought some things. Is it for prom or the wedding?" she was asking about the dress and stuff.
"Wedding. You likey."
"Oh me likey."
We laughed and then Vanessa said,"Well I should go sleep."
"Me too. See you tomorrow morning."
I went to my room and laid on my bed and slept fast. Today might had been the worst but it made up at the end.
