Your eyes slowly open adjusting to the light, seeing Eddie already awake and watching you just like you did with him in the van a few nights ago.
You smile and pull the blanket up covering your face
"Stop staring"
You mumble into the blanket still half asleep, you heard Eddie laugh under his breath
"Alright, I'm not staring anymore"
He tells you adjusting himself on your bed, thinking he stopped
you slowly move the blanket down
Still staring at you he just grins, you glare at him back
but he winks making you smile and blush a little
"You got a staring problem or something?"
You asked him playfully shoving the blanket in his face
"I can't help it you just real pretty"
He replied muffled into the blanket then moves it away brushing his hair out of his face
"You pretty"
You smile at him sitting up in bed stretching your arms out infront of you, Eddie smirks and puts his hand over your face gently pushing you back down onto the bed
"Ruuude!"
You gasp at him grabbing his hand off and biting it playfully making him laugh, he grabs your side with he free hand making you flinch letting go of his hand
"Remove thy hand...now"
You tell him with a serious tone, obviously he wasn't going to listen as he knew how ticklish you get, he raised his brow and then squeezed your side making you flinch and grab his hand
"Edward...!"
You say with a raised voice staring at him
"Oh HELL no...you reeeally fucked up now"
He replied sitting up onto his knees looking down at you but before you could get up yourself Eddie's hands attacked your sides in a tickle war, you scream out mixed with laughing kicking your legs and trying to roll away but he drags you back down towards him
"SSTOP IT STOP!"
You beg him with tears from laughing so hard, Eddie stops and shakes his head smiling at you, you catch your breath then try get him back by pushing him off your bed with your feet, being stronger than you he just laughs at your attempt then grabs your legs bending then to your chest and leans over you holding them there
"Nice try sweetheart"
He whispers smirking down at you, defeated you just stick your tongue out glaring up at him.
He grabs your face gently while your tongue is still pocking out making him laugh
"Cute"
He says leaning down and kissing your forehead then gets up off the bed putting on his sweats
You sit up on your bed watching as he puts his arms into his shirt then his head,not realising how much you were staring or that Eddie noticed you eye fucking him
"Got a staring problem or something?"
He asks joking with you because of earlier, he smirks pulling the shirt down his chest and you force your eyes off him and stand up smiling at him sarcastically then made the bed.
Both heading down for breakfast you still wanted to get Eddie back for tickling you, you smirk at yourself then slap his ass hard enough to make him bump into the stair banister letting out a groan, you burst out laughing and run for it down the stairs quickly being chased by Eddie
"You little shhh-!"
Eddie says trying to catch you, you jump the last three steps giving you more of a head start
then skidded in your socks across the floor and into the kitchen running behind the island counter using it as a shield, not realising your mom was sitting at the counter reading the newspaper
"You alright hun?"
She asks looking up from the paper
"mhmm!"
You replied not taking your eyes off the door, Eddie runs into the kitchen and around the counter after you, you scream running around the other side trying to get away, your mom smiles shaking her head then goes back to her newspaper, she's used to you and Eddie playfighting and teasing eachother so she just let's you get on with it.
Eddie grabs you wrapping his arms from behind and spins you around
"Lucky your mom's here"
He whispers in your ear quietly so you only could hear, you giggle nervously as your heart flutters, he let's you go
"Any plans for today you two?"
your mom asks turning the page, Eddie pours coffee for you both
And you grab the cereal box
"I dont think so..."
You reply making you and Ed a bowl of cereal
"The diner for lunch remember "
Eddie added smiling at you placing the coffees on the counter, you forgot about that...
"Oh, yeah"
You reply smiling, hiding the dread you started to feel all over again.
You both sat at the counter with your mom eating breakfast and catched up before she headed upstairs to rest after her shift.
You washed your bowls and watched tv for a bit just chilling out before you had to start getting ready for lunch.
"You ok?"
Eddie asks looking over at you putting your shoes on
"Hm? Yeah I'm ok..."
You reply smiling quickly then focusing back on your shoes
"You can pick a different place to eat at if you don't want the diner...just. can't do anything fancy I'm not rich for us,yet"
He added putting his hands in his pockets smiling at you a little then looking down at his shoes.
He's never questioned where you ate before so that was a little odd,he always offers to take you for food or to do something fun, even when he doesn't have much for himself, he doesn't like you always paying for things but you've never cared.
No matter what you do, you always have fun because it's with him.
"I'm okayyy, stop I love the diner Eddie I want to go there. You know I don't like fancy places anyways"
You tell him with a smile and he looks up giving you one back.
----Diner----
You and Eddie ordered a milkshake each and a large plate of fries to share, the waitress brings it all to the table and said you both make a cute couple which made you and Eddie look at eachother not knowing what to say so you just smiled at the lady.
"How's your shake Ed?."
You asked him drinking some of yours, Eddie was leaning back in his seat fiddling with his milkshake straw staring at the cup, like he was thinking hard about something
"...Earth to Eddieee"
You say waving your hand infront of his face, he looks up from his cup and smiles, 0 clue what you had just said.
"Are you alright?"
You ask him a little concerned,
"Yeah,I'm good. Food fit for kingsss"
Eddie replies reaching his arm across the table to grab some fries,ignoring that he was just zoned out a moment ago.
"Thank you for lunch..."
You say sliding your empty milkshake glass to the side
"Oh, course did you want another one?"
He offered pointing to the glass,
"No thank you"
Smiling and helping yourself to more fries, Eddie looks down at your hand and noticing you still had his ring, he smiles in the corner of his mouth
"You still wear it"
He says nodding to your hand
"Of course I do, it never comes off, did you want it back?"
You reply jokingly, he narrows his brows and shakes his head no
"No I gave you it"
He leans forward and holds your hand rubbing the ring with his thumb
"Ring finger?"
He says looking up at you then back at your hand
"Oh...yeah, it's the only finger it would kinda stay on, bit big for me. Scared I'll lose it if i wore it on another finger"
You laugh a little, Eddie smiles at your hand
"It suits you sweetheart"
He replies and you blush slightly
"I personally think rings look better on you though"
You told him resting your chin in your hand and poking his rings with your other
He watches you and flexes his hand out before making a fist causing your heart to flutter, his rings really complemented his hands and fingers...
You lost focus off his rings as your fingers trace over his veins across the top of his hand, he squeezes his fist more so they get more prominent, he slowly leans forward across the table resting his arms ontop of it keeping his eyes on you, you slowly look up from his hand now noticing he was looking at your lips
He leans forward a bit more, you knew he wanted to kiss you and you'd be lying if you said you didn't want him to, but your eyes looked away from him and out to the diner room at a few people scattered at tables.
You haven't kissed in public before, not infront of anyone, and the closest you got was that time at motel but Eddie
blocked you from eyes so the kiss wasn't noticeable.
You saw Eddie back away from the corner of your eye, now leaning his back against the seat and stared at the table tapping his van keys, you wasn't sure what to say and the moment was gone now anyway...
Eddie paid for the food and you both headed out, he held the door open for you.
You walked beside Eddie making your way back to his van when someone called out your name making you turn around,
"Hey Maxy!"
You smiled and wave, she made her way over and hugged you, Eddie stood to the side and put his hands in his pockets, he was acting odd since he zoned out in the diner.
"How are you?"
You ask
"I'm good, been meaning to stop by and ask If you wanted to skate again or something?"
She replied smiling at you, she hasn't acknowledged Eddie yet...
"Course! I'd love to, we can plan something k?"
You replied and she nods excited, you look over at Eddie and nudge him with your arm
"...Hey,Red."
Eddie said looking at her then back at the ground, they haven't seen eachother since the incident
Max crossed her arms and looked at Eddie with no expression in her face.
Eddie told you back at the motel that he was worried what the kids would think of him now because of what he did to Billy, though he had no regrets doing it because of how he was with you, he just didn't want them to be scared of him or hate him as he's good friends with everyone in the group, he didn't want to lose any of them as he cares so much for them all.
Billy being Max's step Brother he was even more worried about her views on him now.
Eddie looked at you lost on what to say but you give him a reassuring smile, he gulps then turns to Max again who still had her arms crossed
"I um,you probably don't want to talk with me right now or, ever. Which I understand, But um, I'm sorry if I've messed up our friendship, last thing I wanted to do was make you or any of the others afraid of me and hate me-"
Max unfolds her arms
"...I'm not afraid of you Eddie"
She spoke narrowing her eyes at him, Eddie looks at her confused
"And I don't hate you"
She adds now smiling at him, you heard Eddie sigh from relief
"You, don't hate me?"
He asks her again, Max shook her head and walked over to him wrapping her arms around his waist giving him a hug, he smiles and hugs back
"Thank you"
Max said laughing a little
"For what?"
Eddie said smiling
"For doing what I've wanted to do with Billy for ages"
She laughs.
You stay talking with Max for a few minutes till you notice Eddie put his hands back in his pockets and mumble something under his breath, you look over at him seeing he was staring out into the road tensing his jaw, so you look at what it was.
"...Billy."
You mumble and Max turned around to look
"Ughh"
She says spinning back to you crossing her arms again,Eddie moved closer to you,
"Bitch can wait"
Max said before she went on to talk about the both of you hanging out again,noticing Billy staring at you from the corner of your eye you glance at him then over at Eddie who was also staring at you and squints his eyes slightly as if he was angry with you or something.
You could feel the tention from across the road between the both of them.
"MAXINE, move it!!"
Billy shouts but she ignores, then he high pitch whistles to get her attention and Eddie let's out a deep sigh, you could tell he was getting irritated even with him across the road.
"Allllllright! I'm coming!"
She turns back shouting at him, she hugs you and Eddie before making her way over to Billy.
Both walking over to the Van Eddie unlocks it and gets in slamming the door, great...
You climb in your side shutting the door, Eddie started the van and pulled out from the diner parking space.
Though you really didn't want to see Billy, it went better than you thought...Eddie didn't say anything to him and neither did Billy towards Ed, and minus the tension you could feel and the eyes on you it went fine,you think.
But something was up with Eddie again, you drove silent for a few minutes
"Are you o-"
He cuts you off
"I'm fine."
He says keeping his eyes on the road and a tight grip on the wheel , you got concerned even at the diner with him being quiet and zoned out and just wanted to make sure he was alright
"Are you sure? You seem off or so-"
But he cuts you off again this time with a snappy type of tone
"I said I'm fine...!"
Making you jump slightly and glare at him, he was acting weird but you didn't want to push so
you decide to stay quiet sitting back in your chair.
Eddie looks over at you like he was about to say something but you had your head turned away looking out of the window.
He pulled up to your house and and you sit forward in your seat getting ready to get out.
"...are you coming in?"
You ask, still sensing something was up the whole mood haf changed.
"I'm heading back for the night. Need to see Wayne and stuff"
Eddie replies scratching his neck.
"Ok...well, thank you for taking me out I had fun, see you tomorrow?"
You ask looking over at him, he just nods at you not saying a word then turns his head looking out his front windscreen.
You get out closing his door and walk up to your house unlocking the door hearing Eddie drive off when you step inside, not giving you time to turn around and wave.
You knew something was up with him, and it had to of started in the diner when he went quiet and spaced out. But seeing Billy didn't help, maybe he'll say when you see him tomorrow...?
